White American culture is all appropriated, they have no culture of their own, ask them about it and they always try to go back to Europe to find it.

I took a university music course and learned that ALL music genres have their foundations in "Black" (African) music.
The only musical category invented by those that claim whiteness is the polka! They appropriated (stole) everything else that they claim.

I love how Dr Greg Carr can go in and out of topics in the conversation. He can start you on a path, walk with you 5 paths away, and get you back to the original path and not miss a beat. That's sharpness of mind and great leadership right there!!! Because I'll get sidetracked and forget all about where I'm going sometimes.🤦🏾🤷🏾😂😂

      Excellent point !
Also why was the little baby elephant called Dumbo ? What did he do as a baby elephant be called dumb ?
Why did all of the other elephants hate him and reject him ? (Accept his mother.)
Well the difference between an Indian elephant and an African elephant is the ears. African elephants have really big ears.
Dumbo the baby elephant had really big ears.

OMG mind blown once again by Dr. Carr! Going to need to watch again to take notes and follow more of the bread crumbs- so much ground covered in such a short span of time! As someone who is familiar with Brazilian culture, the connection Dr. Carr makes between the Yoruban/Condomble deity Exu and the origins of Axe', as well as the connection to the 'trickster' archetype represented by Bugs Bunny is breathtaking. This idea of the crossroads also struck me as very profound and timely, as it seems Exu is presenting us in this very moment some stark and clear paths- and the part about it revealing one's true character really spoke to me. I feel such gratitude to Dr. Carr and Professor Karen for the knowledge and moral clarity, which is done with such joy and delight. All I can say is 'Axe'! ♥️

I can never attend these classes without having to repeat them. There is always some nuance that was missed because my mouth was on the floor. Continue to educate me like the university degree that I hold forgot to. As a child of the 50s, so much was omitted. Thank you for filling in the gaps.

On a clear night with all the right atmospheric conditions, we could pick up WLEC from Nashville, clear across the Smokies to Greensboro, NC on AM 1510. But only after midnight, because WEAL, the local black AM station signed off.

Dr Carr reminds me of my uncle and a great uncle, the narrative excellence and the ability to link different stories and historical point is amazing.
Ps: It is also believed that the yorubas hail from up north, somewhere in Egypt. Lineage is essential. Thank you dr. Carr.

Asé blessings, I love this dialogue. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been looked at sideways for my opinion on Disney. It doesn't stop me from watching however when I point out the subtle underlying racism I have been hushed by my own family most of the time. Thank you so much for covering this topic. Thank you thank you thank you. Asé
