Definitely! I had a pay subscription to the Hub.Global, and will happily invest in whatever next level knowledge/power-building platform Professor Hunter has cooking in the lab!:
Damn, damn, damn (Florida Evans) the Karen Hunter Show/Class is a must-see! I didn’t have the time to listen to the entire show, but I MADE time - I couldn’t stop. This space is special - thank you! And thank you for another book - May We Stand Forever. The discussion got me emotional. Looking forward to the “New School” or new space that you are creating.
it was John Branca, Jackson's attorney who purchased the Beatles catalog on his behalf for $47.5 million. Included in that catalog was Little Richard's song portfolio that the Beatles had bought out from under him years before. There's a really sweet story regarding how Jackson restored Richard's music back to him as a gift.
If I heard nothing in today's class other than James Weldon Johnson's description of what it feels like to craft the perfect poem; it would have been worth it. Truly food for the soul. Thank you for this wonderful gift. Can't wait to hear more about the platform and how we can assist in making it happen!
There is a moment when Dr. Carr is teaching, and the spirit...you can define for yourself...hits him and the Divine takes over. We are all connected and I feel it every time you teach. After the explanation of "Lift Every Voice" I had to stop and take a breath.
I just want to say I love you Ms. Karen and you Dr. Carr... you open my mind to be obligated to mental freedom! And to embrace the possibility to be part of a movement. Im a registered nurse who's contemplating politics or anything to help my people. IM SO INSPIRED. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I couldn’t let the day end... without letting you know Professor Hunter. What an amazing class we had today. I even had one of my sons in class today. Today was a powerful class session. Can’t wait until next Saturday.
OMG!!! When one is ready for a think right! Professor Hunter and Carr… So Happy and Grateful to be reconnected to community! Look forward to the level of learning that is destiny driven! Thank you
Back for my second rewatch/listen of the day. Dr. King's last book “Where Do We Go From Here” is a good way to get a real understanding of his politics. Peace to everyone who attended class today and every Saturday. Respect from the LBC ❤️🖤💚👊🏾
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. Thank God for my brilliant beautiful black Sister and Brother. Sunshine came over me in this class section. Love you both.💛💛💛💛💛
Thanks, Dr. Karen Hunter and Dr. Greg Carr, for this informative lesson today! We talk about the legacy of our ancestors and yet, I can't help visualizing that when the history books of this century are written, you'll both be forward and center in the annals!! You're helping to cultivate, educate and encourage our people to excel and to remember that the blood of our ancestors flow through our veins!! These classes you hold and the books you share are helping to encourage the next generation of professionals in their journey of life!! Thank you both!!!💕💯
I am so grateful for this platform! Dr. Carr has such a plethora of knowledge. I am a kid in the candy store, taking it all in and I love every moment. Thank you Karen for bringing this space to learn.
To be able to articulate and show us the value of our history with ❤️ is powerful. We must be accountable and do more for ourselves 👏🏾. Change is hard and tough but we can do it‼️
I am days late in completing listening to this session, but Dr. Carr's lesson on Lift Every Voice and Sing was a drop-the-mic presentation if there ever was one! Thank you both for this meal!
Watching Dr. Carr, Professor Hunter, the Dr in the car with the earpiece on , the tech genius, and the intelligence on this platform makes it so understandable why there has been an assault to silence our race down throughout the ages. We are a resilient people. We are unstoppable. We have always been a threat because of our brainpower but even more so now because we are awakening to our utter brilliance. Thanks Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr for all you that you do. Because of this platform as well as others like it, those who want to thrive, can thrive.
I am infinitely grateful for you, Dr.Carr. I kinda thought I was an aware person, but there is so much more to learn. I am soaking in all the knowledge I can and am aware of several things you guys are introducing. Again soo grateful. I would love to see a show addressing how do we live day to day in these States of America. United left off, as we’ve not even come close to that. I’m not comfortable living in my upper class white neighborhood anymore (and was racially profiled in my driveway), but don’t know where to go. Black urban Nieghborhoods have been gentrified and not very affordable. Not sure if I should even stay in the SOA cuz not sure if things will really ever change. Tired, exhausted and lacking a black persons daily living plan. I know this is a huge request. But I’m gaining all this knowledge, yet short of activism (which is good) don’t know how to “breath” here anymore.
✊🏾💥💥💥I Absolutely Love seeing this community form up, Karen I’ve been Listening to you for 6 + years....It’s coming together, you feed my soul 🙂.Josie today was Fantastic, & Dr Carr Does seem to know everyone. Thank You Karen Hunter, Thank You Dr. Gregg Carr

I feel like I have a new family in the US....I can't stop talking about you to my colleagues and friends in the academic space...Prof Hunter and Dr Carr, you won't believe that I have requested them to subscribe to this channel, follow you on Instagram and Twitter. These are passionate academics who make me proud with the research work they are doing...❣️ Thank you for this week's lesson. Stay blessed 💖
Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr, thank you for this forum! I love what I learn here. I'm a fan and subscriber. Keep up this outstanding scholarly effort.⭐ ❤⭐
Your educational platform has been so informative to me. I have learned so much more from these sessions about our history. I love you and Dr. Carr. I will see you next Saturday sitting on the front row.👏
Bless Dr. Hunter and Dr. Carr! These Elder classes remind me of the day when Dr. Alvin Thornton so lovingly cleared his schedule to teach directly, personally, spiritually et. als. This standard of teaching is why I am still inspired to remain encouraged- even in the midst.
I've been thinking so deeply if Blacks as a collective, specifically African American Blacks, have been so conditioned that the thought of "rising" as a collective people is even possible. I'm so thankful for these sessions with you and Dr. Carr, and understand that the journey forward begins with one step, but when I look around me, it seems that our consciousness as a people is still very much "surface". My thoughts go beyond my words but essentially, many seem to be so conditioned by white structure that "posturing" within the collective it's hard to feel , "this is our time". Just thinking and meditating. Anyway, I'm so proud of this endeavor. Know that I hear and I'm learning and I'm not giving up.
Thank you . I appreciate your service of reeducating us from the miseducation. Unfortunstely, the masses usually do not get on to these type of forums or read those types of books. We have had all these books and info available for years with still no real fruit or progress. It is time to include talk back up with positive planning, preparation and action by those who are informed for collective power of the whole for all. We lull ourselves in a dream that does not end with a reality. We plant seeds that sre not bearing filling fruit. What is next is a good question to not just ponder, but should end with some sort of blueprint and building. Start with unconditional Agape Love Love ourselves and each other enough, and we will be empowered to act bringing tuth to power. Love you all.
You two are amazzzing!!! Dr Carr keep going, you are a gift to us, thank you Professor Hunter for introducing yourself and Dr. Carr to me. OMG! at 2:13 when Sis Josie came in, my brain and heart were aflutter. I will tell you this, my children are grown and I have gone back to school to get my degree. I always wanted to teach and I will reach that goal. But you two have given me soooooo many bread crumbs that I will pass on to my students. Since the first day of class you two have not disappointed me yet! Thank you!
Again, great discussion. A few items I noted. Would like to dive deeper into (unless it was covered in previous discussions): 1) the tactical piece about gaining access to resources to build and move us forward 2) link teaching and learning (again) to social and economic power and 3) the idea Prof. Gonsalves highlighted about the ways stratification makes students invisible (hopefully I noted that correctly). I also found the play to lose = pushing the limits intriguing. Awesome class! Please continue. Thank you.
With opening your mouth and putting your brain on display is a strategy commonly used when someone thinks you are a threat to trip you up in conversation to pick your brain. Once you recognize this it becomes a personalized verbal and nonverbal chess match. I've been involved with these kinds of "matches" and the opponent are never satisfied with my responses. Their counter action is to fire me up and lose track of my focus. I thank you Karen Hunter and Dr. Carr for your ingenious platform which I will always love and cherish. Please keep it coming...
I'm traveling back to Ringgold Louisiana and phone battery died, I had too buy a battery charger at Walmart I was not going to miss this, I don't care how long it was! Again, Great Show..
Dr. Carr I am constantly amazed man At how you Decipher, dissect and break things down in a way that has to be understandable. That cotton sugar thing. Brilliant! Because thats what it really is!
Dr.Richard King says “synthesis is the key to ascension.” We must become synthesizers which requires Afrikan-centered holistic thinking versus the trap of Eurocentric fragmentation. Eurocentric fragmentation has us choosing sides or locked into one side, e.g Malcolm or Martin. It’s not either or. It is the best of both. They were human. They made mistakes. Learn the lessons; absorb the spirit; emulate their highest achievements. So it’s not Harriet or Sojourner. It’s Harriet and Sojourner. It’s not Delany or Douglass. It’s the best of both. Same with Washington and Du Bois, Du Bois and Garvey, Wells-Barnett and Bethune, Martin and Malcolm, Us and the Black Panther Party. “Synthesis is the key to ascension.” Purge Eurocentric fragmentation from our consciousness.
I really enjoyed this segment. I will definitely be getting Dr. King's book, "Where Do We Go From Here". The title speaks volumes to where we are now in this country!
I love this whole conversation! Just wanted to say Yesterday was my Birthday and I have always held that day in higher regard because it was the same as MLK. Now add to that my only son who is 4 now was born on May 19th! No Lie! I only realized the significance because of Dr. Carr
The reference to Dr. Ben Carson on saying that the Pyramids is where they stored grain. Dr. Carr: "Ben, you should've stayed operating on brains.. clearly that was your gift" Prof. Hunter: "Orrr maybe it shows that you shouldn't have been operation on brains!" 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥
So timely and important. Many, many thanks for sharing and welcoming others to ask questions and share info. This is priceless and it a great model for spreading information, dissecting ideas and building community.
I love miss Josie, she is just as loaded and well read as Dr Carr and yessss Professor Hunter we want to see her teaching alongside Dr Carr. Keep up the great work. Love to my Caribbean Queen Josie 🙏🏿
2:26:15 appreciate Sister Hunter jumping on at this point. It was turning into a circular conversation around lofty ideas, theories and concepts. Sis. Hunter's comments made this part of the Q&A more concrete and pragmatic, brought it down to Earth.
Looking forward to it Karen 👍🏾. So happy you came on here. I listened all the time on XM but could not continue to do that. Really love you & Greg Carr 👍🏾🤣
Amazing! The MLK history, The Tech, economic, and diaspora was what I’ve been waiting on. I’m extremely interested in the historical usage of technology as a way of preserving our own history and narrative, then also the creation of technology and how hard it is for African peoples to get out acknowledgement.
Great point Professor Karen.... looking forward to re-reading the life changing book for me, the autobiography of THEHMAS. I read it at 14 and it straightened me out...Ready to go back with a little more seasoning in the bag
I actually LIVE for this project! Thanks for letting me know Alice Windom is still putting it in! I actually find myself grinning and having self-convos and fist-punching exclamations for points!
Cotton vs Sugar...really loved that especially having grown up in Louisiana...our unfortunate ancestors were in one of the few places where they had to deal with both types of plantations
Wooow! What an awesome explanation of MLKJ’s (although they never met) & Ghandi’s relationship! Eye opening about how he decided to go the non-violent route. Wow!
I just stopped and sang the entire song with my 10-year-old. My God! (in Dr. Carr's voice), it is even more powerful than ever knowing the history and seeing where we are today.
Every time I listen I want to get on and say something to fully express how much I appreciate this and all I can say is...thank you. We sang the third verse of lift every voice routinely at chapel on the campus of Morehouse and the background today was so powerful. Again. Thank you.
Dr. Carr mentioned a book titled - “Ghosts In Our Blood: With Malcolm X in Africa, England, and the Caribbean” by Jan R. Carew. A used paperback in “good” condition is now priced over $135.
Blessings to you both ! Modupe for this extraordinary space. My 2021 Sunday's.. Ancestral prayer with my family, breakfast and an episode of In Class..Indeed a divine body of work you all creating this is the way forward. May the blessings of the Creator and the ancestors be with you both always.
Doctors Hunter & Carr I swear divine is the only way to describe the miracles your chemistry and platform is. My husband and I were talking about how Biggie's respect for Jay-Z no writing rap approach inspired Biggie to do the same. We have a need for your platform and when you reach out to me you will see the levels we have to supercede and thrive in this country. Our story is both upsetting and a testament of what makes us the warriors we are. My name is Maryam Bennett and I reside in the notorious Forsyth County (shout out to Biggie intended) the stands we've taken & the trouble we've had getting any coverage or anything done. We are not far removed from this being a white's only county and even though the landscape has changed there is still blood at the root.
Wow this lesson was amazing and those last two Q&A blew my mind I def gotta go back and watch this a couple times ... thank you both so much for this 🖤🖤
I'm giving my flowers to Professor Hunter and Dr Carr we will never forget you!
I can't find words to describe Dr. Carr. He's the epitome of knowledge, excellence and fearlessness. He is he definition of blackness. Thank you!
Thank you for my fix! This forum should be accredited so college credit can be given and YES I will gladly pay for it!

Watching this on MLK day was a true treat. Thank you both. 🙏🏾
“You open your mouth, you put your brain on display.” Wise mama...
These conversations and seeds are amazing! Thank you Dr. Hunter!
Thank you.
Ms. Josie, in her car, with her mom getting her coronavirus shot, brought it. This show is a national treasure. God Bless you Ms. Hunter!
Yes, she did!
With opening your mouth and putting your brain on display is a strategy commonly used when someone thinks you are a threat to trip you up in conversation to pick your brain. Their counter action is to fire me up and lose track of my focus. I thank you Karen Hunter and Dr. Carr for your ingenious platform which I will always love and cherish. Please keep it coming...

Yeah. A lot of his books are out of print. We are working on a solution.
So inspirational! We need you Karen!
I Love when you two get together. I have to get that pin and paper on deck. I have learned so much.
We are not far removed from this being a white's only county and even though the landscape has changed there is still blood at the root.
thank you for being unrehearsed! glad to be back ****
