I have said before. Misters' money, land, house, the jook joint, the store, and Celies shop get overshadowed by the violence. They were doing well in this little town at that time. Shug too. Even Old Mister had money. In the end, Mister was able to send for Celie's family. Most of us couldn't do that now! These are interesting details that deserve examination.

While I have a great love and respect for Dr. King his family and all that they contributed to this fight. At what point will we realize it's still a fight? It seems as though as a people we let the very people we are fighting pick our players and choose our plays. If we look critically at messaging, Malcolm's was more appropriate based upon the conditions.......yet we still have not elevated that message in front of" the dream" and built constructively the infrastructure he was focused on for ourselves. The african is in the exact same position from a power perspective than they were 500 years ago when we were snatched. Except and until that changes there is nothing to celebrate
