Clear vision, patience, and trust in your capabilities.. congratulations. For someone who is not a “professional woodworker”, your attention to fine-detailing and quality is the mark of a professional.. Wonderful work. I wonder if a horizontal brace under the floating desktop might have worked well considering that you could not find a wire-free position to drill into the back wall.
Thanks so much! It was one of those projects that took way longer than I thought it would. For the floating desk, I was able to get two brackets into studs and it holds the weight just fine. But you are right, a wood cleat would have worked also! I was over the trips to Home Depot though! 🙈
Thanks! The rest of my house is mostly neutrals, I do a lot of zoom meeting with design clients and a wanted color in the background so they’d be open to color too!
6:30 Much easier than hacking apart the baseboard would be to chop the legs off the dressers and then build a 2"x4" or 2"x6" pedestal/platform to sit the dresser on. A LOT less effort and it'll be hidden by your molding wrap.
You did a great job, I'm loving the look and want to try it myself. I would like to know the measurements of your room, it looks a lot like mine, thank you for sharing, you really inspired me!
Thanks for sharing, was the cabinet wood or MDF? Idk I'd like to do that to two book shelves but mine I'd think it could be blown out and not work. Thanks for posting
It took me 4 years to get up the courage! I do not have a builders brain and it took me months of measuring and planning. I’m sure someone else could do it in an hour. I will admit, I cussed a lot, but I also learned a lot! You can do it!
This looks fantastic! I would recommend to paint the bright white outlet cover the same color of the wall. ❤
You are so right! I may do that at some point. Our paper shredder is actually in front of it, so you don’t actually see it anyways.
Or brass colored?
I want to do something with my hemnes and you’ve just solved of my problems.
Wow! They turned out so well! You did an amazing job. Love the color too.
Thank you! The color is Sherwin Williams Naval.
OMG it's gorgeous the painted parts make the natural wood tops pop even more your amazing
