      @@ChrisBaitson The best I can suggest is maybe the drain at Patrington Haven. Park at the little car park at the end of the road, you can follow the drain to the pumping station and its similar to Stoney Creek. Or turn right halfway and its a bit of a wetland similar to Paull.

    Chris its a great lens, I had one for many years on my Ef system and it was the first on my shopping list for RF. Incredibly versatile, doesn’t break the bank and a really good lens if you want to travel with your full frame body and nothing more than spare batteries and a few cards. I think the RF version is 5stops of IS & according to Canon NZ the EF is 4 stops. Of course the in built IS on some of the RF models really adds to the the usefulness of this lens as a “walk around” lens. Cheers from NZ

      I’ve been looking at the non L version for the RF mount on my RP for video but the aperture range is a little odd, f7.1 at the long end isn’t much use for anything. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I might have a proper look now!

    I have had my RF 24-105 f/4 for over 18 months. I keep debating to trade for a 24-70 f/2.8 but gosh the 24-105 is so small, light and does a wonderful job. I still have my old Nikon DSLR with a 24-70mm f/2.8 and when needed I can grab that oldie but goodie set up.

    You have a new subscriber my friend! I have the Tamron 18-200 almost permanently strapped to my Nikon D90. Having just about the full focal range you're ever likely to need all in the one lens suits me down to the ground. I'm a wheelchair user, so carrying loads of gear is a bit inconvenient. Anyway cheers for the video.

    • @ChrisBaitson
      @ChrisBaitson  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Ash. 18-200 is really going to cover you for anything you’re ever going to need isn’t it. Carrying less gear isn’t a bad thing. My bag weighs more than I do at this point and it does take some of the fun away carrying it all around.

    Another top, 17-40 is a bit nicer for deep coastline shots here in Cornwall and a decent 70-300 to catch the surfers doing their thing, plus there's always my 50 f1.4 in the bag if someone wants a super crisp portrait,
    but yeah the 24-105 is about the best all day any subject lens, although I may have to try out the mk2 as mine is a bit soft at the edges when under 35mm

    Great vid. Chris. I had the camera out for the day recently and was swapping between the 40mm and the 105mm. When I got the images up on computer found sensor dust. Nikon cameras don't cover the sensor when you change lenses. Boohoo. So seriously considering Nikon's 24 - 120 mm to avoid lens changing too much. However its very expensive and that's a bit off putting. But this vid. has got me thinking., Thanks again. Love the channel

    Hi chris thanks for your video..I must agree with you concerning the 24-105 lens, a very beautiful lens. i bought one this month and I am enjoying every moment with it. I have the 17-40L and hoping to add the 70-200 perhaps in a couple of months. Question....which 70-200L would you recommend for landscape? f2.8 or f4...?? does it really matter???...an idea perhaps for a video???......keep making videos Bro

    • @ChrisBaitson
      @ChrisBaitson  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching mate. My 24-105 is banged and beaten but still going strong! As for 70-200 if you can afford it always go for the faster lens but really, for landscape, it doesn’t matter. I have the F4 version and it’s a really nice lens.

    • @philsmith774
      @philsmith774 2 года назад +1

      On the 70-200L I went for the F4 IS rather than the F2.8. The F4 is smaller and lighter and that was important to me.

    Hey Chris! Another great video. I was actually looking at this lens as I am interested in getting some older L glass so that I can take advantage of the weather sealing in my 7D! I wanted to ask you about your 100-400. Is it the mki version? These seem to be a great deal for a canon L wildlife lens, but I am also torn between it and the sigma 150 - 600 C because of the reach! Thank you :)

    • @ChrisBaitson
      @ChrisBaitson  2 года назад

      The 100-400 is a Mki yes. They do suck a lot of dust in with the push/pull zoom but the front element is pretty easy to remove for cleaning it out. Personally though I’d look at the Sigma or the MKii 100-400 these days. The MKi is a great lens but there are better options out there now.

      Try a wireless mic or boom mic for your videos. The Canon EF 17-35 f/2.8 USM L is a little better with autofocus noise. For an APSC camera, Canon’s STM lenses are “Church Mouse” quiet 🤫
