@@ESKATEUK Also totally depends on the area. I live in LA and you can get 2 sides of the token here, an affluent Karen calling the cops on you or somebody approaching you where you feel the need to call the cops. Definitely hard to 'blend in' to the environment at 6 foot 200 pounds...

I received the 24-105 as a kit lens with the 5d Mark iii, one of the first lenses I bought was a 24-70 f2.8, but i still kept the 24-105. I totally agree with Kai it is a great all purpose lens, i think it's one of my most used lenses.
Completely agree with you Kai. The 24-105 is such a versatile and flexible lens. It can be used for nearly every type of photography. Has to be my favourite lens as I use it all the time on a 1DX MrkII
I'm relatively new to Photography having got my first DSLR and a few lenses since 2014 and I watch a few guys, not loads, just a few subs to guys like yourself but I've gotta say you are my favourite, the humour, editing, information, presentation is really good. thanks for all your videos and work that goes into them. I feel like this might be Kai's best video. And it's mostly due to the wonderful community interaction he gets. But even the people who aren't coming to him... The photo at 4:47 is like... A piece of art. The kind of street photo people dream of getting but rarely have the balls to go out and get it. If only going out and shooting had this amount of flavor and fun for everyone. Whereas in the digital/phone/social media age it's becoming increasingly socially unacceptable to film random people. It's always presumed nefarious, for whatever reason.

I do however, dislike the ruttle between these two. who cares what you use? in the professional world we use what works for us. more importantly are the lenses available. I've been using canon for the past 7 years and I wouldn't mind switching to anything else if it would serve my purpose better, subjectively speaking

I have Nikon strap on my Canon 5D and Sony strap on my Fuji XT3, its fun seeing people go up to me and ask what Nikon is that and I say Nikon 5DMk3 or what Sony is it and I reply Sony XT3 and when they go ask a camera store, i can only imagine the confusion.
Works even better with a Nikon strap.

It appeared as he was using one of new Leica Panasonic lens for the GH5 video. Lens make a world of a difference.

Great review Kai. Glad to hear someone giving this lens some love. Would have loved to have seen more comparing the IS between the models though, as I believe there is about a stop of difference in the new model. Keep it up!

Really nice shot! Kai explained before that when you take a a picture of someone and if they look at you or question you, just pretend you are trying to get a shot of something behind them lol

It was sad when Kai moved to England, especially when he left DRTV. End of an era. This is the first video I ever watched from his solo channel and I gotta say he looks really happy, so I'm happy as well. Definitely subscribing!
I'm gonna stick to the mark 1, I've had it for almost 7 years now and it's my go-to lens on the camera for outdoor fashion shoots. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, decent sharpness at F4 and very good at 5.6 and higher.
and a bit smaller and lighter and quite a bit cheaper second hand i guess

Andy Hargrave Music you get what you pay for with cameras anyway. you go the cheap route, you get a cheap camera. you go the expensive route, you get quality.

Bubbles Sorry but that's absolute bullshit. For one the prices on cameras are hilariously inflated and for two you probably won't do any better pictures with a $5k camera than with a $500 camera. Sure it's magnesium instead of plastic and it has a cf card slot and that kind of stuff but really it isn't that much better. A huge part of photography is pretentiousness.
Sebastian Mustermann I'm sure the 5k camera will provide better images in low light situations weather you are an amateur or professional
Sebastian Mustermann - yeah, probably over priced...but the usually feature tools less expensive cameras don't have...but, most of those only Pro an d ProAm would want to, or know how to use...so, willing to pay more for it. For exapmpke..,what $500 camera allows you to add a 2x extender on 4.0 lens and still get center point autofocus?... or suggest a $500 camera that allows you to store 6 meter exposure readings per frame allowing a full zone metering system without having a light meter in hand? Nothing wrong w a $500 camera at all... but, it just won't be the ideal tool for every photographer

My mom bought it a long time ago and I've since used it recently. It really is a good all rounder. I even got some killer close-ups of birds and squirrels.

Because the images here are compressed and are viewed in the video...the image is shown in the video, you need to download the actual image file.

I love this lens. I have actually bought it twice. Once as the kit lens with the 5D Mark IV which I later sold as a kit, then as the kit lens for the C100 Mark II. It's a great all 'rounder do everything lens. Looking forward to trying it on the 1DX Mark II soon

Do you need or do you ask any permissions when you publish photos about peoples on the streets?
it depends on the area you live but i know in the area i live if you're in public you do not need permission. So as long as you aren't on privately owned property you should be good.

if youre in the U.S., there is no expectation of privacy in public, so as long as youre in a public area, no you dont
The 49th Duo "No expectation of privacy" So...If I am in a public restroom are people allowed to film me? are they allowed to watch me use the bathroom? get dressed/undressed? after all it is a public place isn't it? are people allowed to watch me enter my pin at an ATM? that seems highly unusual and somewhat contradictory, and when does it become harassment if this is allowed? You need peoples' permission to use their image, you can't just walk around filming and taking photos of people just because its a public place, thats absurd. Release forms are usually given to people to sign, allowing usage of their image. You would think this is quite prominent in the U.S given the "constitutional right to privacy" and the fact the constitution is a public document for all its citizens, so I don't subscribe to your claim of "no expectation of privacy".
AfaIk as long as it's not private property you're in the public domain and thus have the right to take any photos of what you see and you have given the right for someone to take a photo of you as well.
That said there's simply taking harmless photos and then there's being an arse. If someone doesn't like their photo taken, just delete it. Taking a picture that exploits someone in a certain way wouldn't do you any favours either so don't take the whole public domain thing as a get out of jail free card and use your judgement as there are obvious exceptions to what one can do.
Coming to London in June for my first time. Going to bring my Canon Rebel t5i errr I mean 700D that I saved up and bought as my first camera last year. You rock Kai, love your videos.
