    If you couldn't tell, I had a lot of fun making this one :D
    Sorry for not uploading anything for a month. I've been very busy with other stuff and not been able to edit. I'll try to start uploading more frequently now.

      Asetoni FFXV So any thoughts on a recommended build for Prompto?
      Focus on strength and physical-gun since magic is only used for the bazooka's explosions?

    • @KABLAMMATS
      @KABLAMMATS 6 лет назад +4

      just give him the best accessories in the game:
      Towel, Hair gel, and Ribbon.

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  6 лет назад +3

      The bazooka uses strength, but deals magical damage. The magic stat is only used for Lumen Flare (which deals physical damage).
      But yea, you should focus on Str, since the best part about Lumen Flare is stagger, not damage. Magitek suits or Dark Matter Bracelets are the way to go. Leave one equipment slot for Clever Talisman since it gives infinite SMG ammo. Machine doesn't matter, use Death Penalty for Crackshots.
      Note that this is only good if you wanna use Prompto. If you're gonna keep him as an AI, he needs something like an Adamantite Bracelet to survive.

      KAB LAMMATS Bandages>>>Ribbon,
      On a serious note, I have never even seen blood stains. Probably because this isn’t a bloody game as intended.

    He's the only one without a phasing equivilant, so when you get surrounded, you're in big troubl- I'm just kidding, just roll, and then flare, and shoot 'em with your bazooka.

      I love it when he complained about why Noctis can warp but he can't lol

    Minor detail, but Prompto can shoot out of his dodge if you choose to dodge first. It helps with keeping more distance between you and the enemy (pistol only). Dodge shooting also helps his DPS
    Speaking of dodge, you can dodge while aiming with his rifle/bazooka. It doesn't go very far, but you have decent invincibility frames.
    Starshell can also threaten enemies if it doesn't debuff them. Good for getting some more shots in or to get enemies off of someone. Selfie shot is indeed the most broken ability in the game. Trigger happy is one of the unique ones in the sense that the way Prompto uses it and the way that his AI uses it is different. If you call his AI to do it, the first version (green bar) has a somewhat slow fire rate and can do minimal damage. The final bullet may compensate. If he does the critical version (yellow bar) he really follows up the on the name and fires his handguns like a machine gun. It gets a longer duration and he shoots two bullets at the end that really hurt.
    Now, if you control Prompto and use this move it's quite different. First, the move ALWAYS does critical shots. I have never seen an instance where it didn't do this. The move itself has a shorter duration compared to both versions of his AI counterpart, but the very last bullet he shoots has small AOE and is decent at getting enemies into vulnerable status. As for why it's so different, it's because in his DLC he uses his handgun in conjunction with another handgun, which is what causes that animation. Really weird detail about using it as Prompto: if you have the tactical bonus as Prompto the bar will actually change color but won't change the animation. It's the only time you can initiate something like that. So, attention to detail?
    Crackshot changes depending on distance and/or the direction you're moving in. I had the one where he does his first level piercer animation. Pretty cool if you know the other ones. The pistol can be helpful against small fry or against those Imp demon types, as they are good for getting them into vulnerable state.
    Also, was the joke at the beginning supposed to be Prompto being the end all be all in terms of gameplay? Like you pick him and the game breaks in half?

    • @totallynotacat9761
      @totallynotacat9761 6 лет назад +2

      and also prompto's Trigger-Happy target single enemy (probably because of the shorter duration) while AI-Prompto Trigger-Happy will target multiple enemy. About the Crackshot, will the damage be different when prompto does the different animation especially the one where he does on long distance

    • @souloftherisingsun8274
      @souloftherisingsun8274 6 лет назад

      Totally Not A Cat from what I've gathered, no. At a good distance I've gotten 9999's pretty frequently. That may be because the first crackshot will enfeeble the enemy. The long distance ones don't seem to change a thing in terms of damage

    • @totallynotacat9761
      @totallynotacat9761 6 лет назад

      ahh..I see...but if I'm not mistaken the long range Crackshot does take a lil longer than other right? because promto will reload his pistol first

    • @souloftherisingsun8274
      @souloftherisingsun8274 6 лет назад +1

      Totally Not A Cat it depends on the animation. If you see Prompto glow yellow for a second but is standing there doing something, chances are it's the piercer animation. Other times he can backflip (as seen in this vid) or it's just a regular animation. But the long range ones don't take any longer compared to up close, it just depends on the animation. For example, my favorite one is to go up close and have Prompto do a kick, in which he will immediately follow up with a crackshot

    • @totallynotacat9761
      @totallynotacat9761 6 лет назад

      oh yeah, I done the kick before. I haven't find anyone who make the compilation of the Crackshot animation because I want to use it as references and see all of it :D

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  6 лет назад +8

      Superbro64 Yeah, some sort of gambit system would have been really useful so that you could tell Prompto to prioritize keeping distance from the enemy.

    • @souloftherisingsun8274
      @souloftherisingsun8274 6 лет назад +7

      R2 button could totally help with that. Leads you to a menu that says:
      Free
      Attack (go all out)
      Defend (defend me)
      Support (assist in whoever I'm fighting)
      Spread (keep a certain distance from enemies)
      You could also press the square button in that menu to bring you to a sub menu that lets you highlight who you want to give specific commands to, so you could have Gladiolus go attack, Ignis defend for backup, and Prompto for spread as an example. Or command all of them to spread because an enemy is about to do an AOE attack. And no, I will not accept the "just mod it" answer

  • @coolguy02536
    @coolguy02536 6 лет назад +3

    You can only crackshot an individual enemy up to 3 times in one vulnerability state. He needs to be close enough to fire the shots. Getting an enemy vulnerable and then switching to Prompto won't let him fire crackshots.
    Holding the "phase" button makes him crouch and rapidly heal, similar to Noct in cover.

      Noctis: "I warp around the battlefield dealing deveasitating damage while closing huge gaps, and can summon a phantom arsenal to help me do so!"
      Gladio: "I tank damage to deal even more in return, and can lay out heavy assaults after I attack for a bit!"
      Ignis': "for some reason I'm both a Red Mage and a Dragoon. With ramp-up damage. It works excllent though!"
      Prompto, pulling out a literal bazooka: "I think you guys are overthinking this a little..."

  • @totallynotacat9761
    @totallynotacat9761 6 лет назад +8

    one thing that I want to point out, Prompto's Trigger-Happy is different from the Trigger-Happy of Noct's Technique... Trigger-Happy (prompto) only target single enemy and Trigger -Happy (Noctis) Target Multiple enemy... and in addition, In ep prompto, the trigger-happy will leave the surrounding enemy in vulnerable after the finishing shot

    • @totallynotacat9761
      @totallynotacat9761 6 лет назад

      oh and 1 more thing, Prompto is able to command Aranea using "Highwind" aside from Noctis

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  6 лет назад +3

      Trigger happy will very often leave the enemy Vulnerable even in the main game. It just has an excellent vulnerability modifier.

    • @totallynotacat9761

      oh is that so? thanks for the info m8

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  6 лет назад

      It very much depends on your level and what you're fighting. The whole Vunerability system in this game is extremely weird and convoluted. I couldn't tell you how it works exactly. The only things I know for sure are that different attacks have different modifiers for it, doing more damage helps and your level has extreme effect on how fast you can make something Vulnerable. And that the enemy you're fighting also matters of course.

    • @NabsterHax

      I also found Trigger Happy with Noctis to be quite bad, but with Prompto it's amazing. Considering it's also a separate tech bar that charges even when not using Prompto I find it's almost always worth switching to Prompto to throw out Trigger Happy, Lumen Flare and 3 max damage crackshots in longer fights.

  • @MemoriesLP

    When your Prompto has over 1600 strength, he is by far the best character to play as, especially for crackshots that can do 9999 every shot, over 27,000 damage in seconds.

    a little bit late but I just remember a thing about prompto's Selfie Shot, if you take a selfie close to your party member, there's a chance they will join prompto in the Selfie. So far I got Noct and Aranea to join prompto in the selfie, but never got the others (even Iris and Cor)

    I saw some videos where Prompto has infinite SMG bullets, how's that possible?
    An idea I had to balance Prompto was making each bullet/shell/bomb cost MP. The pistol would cost 1 MP per shot (because ridiculous low dmg), the SMG would cost something like 3MP or 5 MP per shot. The bombs something like 75MP and the Bazooka either 100MP or 95% of his max MP. In stasis state he would be locked with the tonfa until MP is recovered.

      SPOILERS
      In the new expanded Insomnia in chapter 14, you can find an accessory called Clever Sigil, which Prompto can equip. It gives him infinite SMG ammo and increases his crit%.

      You need to beat his DLC to unlock Trigger Happy.

  • @lulcy95
    @lulcy95 6 лет назад

    As far as real life physics are concern bullets doing less dmg againts farer targets make sense (albeit it's exagerated in FFXV).
    The forced produced by an object is measured by
    Force=mass of the object*acceleration of the object
    Due to the presence of air resistance and gravity bullets start to lose velocity (on top of kinetic energy) which translates into disminishing acceleration which translates into less force = less dmg.

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  6 лет назад

      Yea it does make sense that they do less damage, but it doesn't make sense that they do so little damage. The distance penalty is just insane. A handgun can easily be lethal from 100 meters away, let alone something like an SMG.
      I get that from a gameplay perspective they can't do crazy damage for balance reasons, but the way they outright discourage any sort of ranged combat is pretty excessive and defeats the whole point of guns. Sure, give them a distance penalty, but don't make it so severe.
      Then again Prompto doesn't exactly need a buff, my frustration mainly stems from Noct's guns, Bow of the Clever and shurikens (comrades and main game).

    Does his pistol damage depend on the equipped pistol or does he use a generic crap one when you play as him?
    Also how do you get trigger happy? Is that by completing DLC?

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  5 лет назад

      Pistol damage is determined by the pistol equipped. The same goes for Trigger Happy and Crackshot.
      Yeah, you get Trigger Happy for beating his DLC.

    • @DGneoseeker1
      @DGneoseeker1 5 лет назад

      @@asetoniffxv22 In that case I most definitely do have a reason to be using his pistol... It's the Garuda pistol and ridiculously powerful. Noctis is using the upgraded one which is even more ridiculous.
      I'm a little conflicted as whether to play the DLC now or wait until it's the right time in terms of the main plot. How much of the game is AFTER that point?

    • @asetoniffxv22
      @asetoniffxv22  5 лет назад

      @@DGneoseeker1 In my defence, I made this video before the Garuda weaponry existed. Still, there is a certain accessory later on which still kind of renders normal pistol attacks quite redundant (though they're still always good for crackshots and trigger happy obviously).
      There isn't very much main story after the Prompto DLC, only about 15-25% by my estimation. However, if you care about the story at all, I should warn you that it does have major spoilers if you play it too early. Most of the game's combat content is post-game stuff anyway, so you'll have plenty of fights ahead of you after that point.

    • @DGneoseeker1
      @DGneoseeker1 5 лет назад

      @@asetoniffxv22 Ah. Yeah from what I can see there really is a ridiculous amount of stuff after the main plot is over. Which makes no sense considering to my understanding you aren't actually physically visiting the places since Noctis isn't in any condition to be doing that... So you're what, only visiting the post-game dungeons in your dreams, effectively?
