Asetoni FFXV yeah dude. Idk if you seen my videos but I ultimately used every advice from you for my combos. On my last channel I literally had almost 1 million views on a video just because I made the game look really fun.
Yet another trilogy that managed to be completed before Half-Life 3. Jokes aside, really good guide! Been wondering about your thoughts on Gladio ever since your Prompto and Ignis videos but I just kinda figured you wouldn't make a video since RekiWylls already put out one, but it's great to see more input.
Thanks! Yeah, Reki's video is great, but I wanted to finish my series. Also, I really wanted to talk about the parry/dodge priority thing, and this let me do that :D
"Thanks, I hate it" haha I agree tho, A hard mode would've really been a welcome edition with all the other other options making the game already easier.
I agree with everything you said at 11:06 the game is way to easy I've played over 700 hours on ps4 and 141 hours on xbox .This game does have combat depth but, they made it so easy .unless you play it for years you won't understand a thing.maybe they did this in because they didn't want to scare away newcomers
do you reccommend ffxv for its combat ? cuz I always hear from people that played it is one button dodge and learning any thing advanced in it would only make you more stylish but the game is too easy or something like that
For a short answer, yes, I would absolutely recommend FFXV for it's combat. However, the criticisms you've heard about it are not entirely unwarranted. The game is too easy for its own good, but this is not the result of a simplistic "one button dodge" combat system that doesn't reward skillful play. The reason why the game is so easy is because of how healing items work, and because of certain DLC items that you have by default in the Royal Edition and Windows Edition versions of the game. For healing items, the game allows you to carry 99 of each healing item, which are very powerful and cheap to buy. As a result, you could be the worst player in the world, and play the game eyes closed using your feet, and you would still never die, because the potion stack gives you effectively infinite health. So while the combat system is extremely rewarding and with a high skill ceiling, being good only means you lose less items and kill stuff faster, but is not required to beat the game whatsoever. As for the DLC items, they were originally intended for people who have already beaten the game to mess around with, but the "complete editions" thoughtlessly put them in your starting inventory, and many people go through the game with those, when the game was not designed around the player having them. If you do end up buying the game, I highly recommend not touching the Ragnarok sword and the Magitek Exosuit if you enjoy action games. As for why it is perceived as a simplistic one button game, there's a lot that goes into it, but it's mainly to do with how the game doesn't explain its mechanics much at all (that's why I made this channel, someone had to do it lol). For example, the game's tutorial only tells you to defend yourself with the "defend button" (square by default), but in this very video I pointed out how this same button has several vastly different actions that it can accomplish. Block by holding, roll by tapping, sidestep by tapping when locked on, parry by timing it to an enemy attack, impervious by timing it after being hit by an enemy attack. Same with attacking how simultaneous inputs with the left stick or timed inputs change how your combo happens, even though the only button you are actively pressing is just the general "attack button". But all of this is at best glossed over in the tutorial and at worst given outright incorrect descriptions by the game itself. So if you can get over these hurdles (and it is completely understandable why one wouldn't), underneath you'll find an extremely fun, fast paced, mobility focused combat system with almost too many options for its own good. I sometimes refer to FFXV as a "combat sandbox", because it has such an insane amount of gameplay mechanics to use, from weapon switching air combos to party-reliant strategies to a fucking sniper rifle and a monster truck to run over enemies. And that's just one of the four playable characters (or 6 with the DLCs). It's a lot of fun.
Aha! While there is no hard mode you can use the nixperience ring to freeze yourself at level 10 if you wanted. It’s actu a lot of fun to do this. But I didn’t discover it until level 30.
@@asetoniffxv22 so let me just say. (Not trying to change your opinion, just speaking ma mind) the game makes more sense with experience frozen. Several reasons it forces you to care about assension grid, cooking, etc. So it's not just more difficult. It forces you to interact with the game in a way you usually wouldn't.
Yeah, backwards + O on daggers. Noctis will throw daggers and walk backwards, and when he gets out of dagger throwing range, he will dropkick back to melee range.
Nice that you are still making FFXV videos. Thanks dude, you are the best.
I wish there was a Hard mode to actually use the combos etc.
Yeah, me too...

I appreciate you going so in-depth with these videos. I've been going through all of them and I've really been enjoying it.

The best Most Realistic Greatsword Moveset ive ever seen in a video game!
i love you asetoni.. i loved ff15 more because of you

I miss your stuff... Binging all of it right now.
Great video, thanks for sharing your breakdown of his gameplay =D Also thanks for completing the trilogy ;D
I actually used Gladio for the Cactuar exp method, it was a lot of fun!
Awesome guide! I hope you're releasing more content
That's the plan :D

is not there a discord server for talking about ffxv mechanics ?

Is staggering random? Any way to get it constantly with any character?
This is a very late question but how do u get to maelstrom? I get up to the third art and then the bar stops moving?
To unlock it, you need to beat Gladio's DLC episode
@@asetoniffxv22 ahh ok
With no tech bar earthshatter with 4.0 rage damage has great AOE can insta kill small enemies around you like Cactuars
I guess, but it's so slow that you could probably do three basic attacks in the time it takes to do one Earthshatter...
@@asetoniffxv22 agreed :) just thought id throw that out there
Omg ur awesome

I am well aware of the Nixperience band. There is a world of difference between a hard mode and a level restricted playthrough.
@@asetoniffxv22 i know. But I'll take what I can get. And it is a fun playthrough I will say

Noctis had a drop kick? wtf
Yeah, backwards + O on daggers. Noctis will throw daggers and walk backwards, and when he gets out of dagger throwing range, he will dropkick back to melee range.
So, gladio basically an useless character 😮 that felt better if it was controlled by AI 😂
