Watching this made my hands sweaty, numb and cold all over again. Because Noctis not staying PUT is what was the absolute most difficult part about this dungeon. I wouldve been lost without a walkthrough as well, but when you know what to do and it STILL takes over 4 hours to complete...that's insane.
YES! VARIOUS TIMES, MIGHT I ADD! I especially hated the area were your camera angle panned out into 2D mode! That game play was unnecessary and annoying.
OMFG I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING, I just finished the dungeon, but what irked me more than that was when you jump and attack in mid air for a bit of hang time and THEN you hand, notes will still glide until he puts his weapon away which fucks my head
I know right plus its pitch black so its like....Ok i go this way.....nope.....ok then this ....... Crap i fell now gotta do it all over......Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.......
I was felling sick the day I first tried this dungeon. First Room with diagonal floors I tried until the room IRL was spinning and the need to lose my lunch was approaching so I GTO the dungeon and stayed clear for months.
Just stayed up all night finishing this dungeon, got everything, left to fly back and rest up, crashed my car, died, forgot to save. Going to off myself now, thanks for the video though.
I want to thank you for making this video, because I know for a indisputable fact I would not have cleared this dungeon without it. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna save my game, cry for a little bit, and then fly to Japan to fight somebody at Square Enix.
Oh hey! An optional endgame dungeon. Sure I'll do that, should be fun! 3 hours later I just wanna get out of here. But I'm too far in to just turn off the PS4, otherwise it would all have been a waste.
I skip a lot of the items on the floor and in nearby places in this, I know it'll frustrate some people but I didn't want the video to be longer than necessary. Those items are mainly things like Hi-Potion x10. I show the direct route to the Black Hood, as well Genji Gloves etc. This dungeon is very confusing so hopefully this helps :)
Do you need to restart the game in order to unlock the regalia F type and the secret dungeon or you can do it in your first run after beating the final boss?
aSHTEBALA Fucking EXACTLY Noctis kept doing STUPID SHIT. I'd move my left stick so slightly in a ditection and Noctis would take like 8 fucking steps and fall off of the fuckin beam or whatever I was tryna balance on. And his jumping? Fuck it. Just fuck it. I completed this level twice though. My fist time took 6 hours in regular play through, and like 5 or 6 months later I did it again on new-game plus it took 2 hours without the guide. I was surprised how little time it took me to do it
The shitty jumping isn't even what bothers me the most, it's the fucking sloppy, shitty controls that killed me. You try to jump a gap to a thin bar 30 times and when you finally do it and Noctis lands on the bar, he immediately just steps off it. And the way Noctis doesn't just rotate in place, it's like the axis he rotates on is a foot or two behind him instead of vertically through his body like essentially every other game ever, so when you try to rotate Noctis he walks in a circle instead of just turning in place. There's nothing like tight platforming to reveal how absolutely lazy and shitty a game's controls are.
This is why Square doesn't make Tomb Raider dungeons more epic, they leave the epicness of dungeons to one of their number one cash cows, Final Fantasy. XD
Every time Noctis lands from literally anything more than 3 feet, he always does that roll. Can’t tell you how many I times landed on a platform perfectly just so dumbass can roll off of it
They should've made completing this dungeon a trophy, I honestly want to know how many people actually succeeded in completing it. Cause I'll tell you it was hard as hell, but gave an immense sense of satisfaction afterward.
@@HIGHDRONER Yeah my first run pissed me off so i did a search on the items to see if they were worth it. Nope. Still did the dungeon just so i could say i did it. Only took me about 1hr. and that was with picking up all the items. (but i am one of those players that never got that Prince of Persia trophy for rewinding time like 100 times in a single play thru) Gotta learn from your mistakes.
I actually like that type of dungeon but the game is not made for it, noctis is constantly rolling away and then he's constantly slipping around it was hell. you want a piece to the left and he runs two meters to the left and falls down, etc.
You can say that again. It's like being on roller skates and the random rolling and slipping is the main thing getting you killed feels like random dice rolls. Did the game decide to roll after you land or not? Did the game decide to auto/ run or not? etc.
Unknown Haha same here! I was depressed with the sad ending, didn't feel like doing any post game side quests, then I went to this dungeon and experienced deepest of depression, anxiety, frustration and anger, but when I came out greatest of jubilation! strangely not because I completed the dungeon but because I was out of that retched place.. now I feel like I can do any quests post game!
and I thought The Menace Beneath Costlemark was hell, I was in my mid level 90's and I got to the end and realised that I couldn't physically beat that Bifross without throwing my pc out the window, so I'm gonna go back in later, with several Fire and Lightning Crests (to deal with the elemental attacks of the Bifross and the Elder Coeurl's/Uttu's respectively) and I'm gonna get all the best recovery Ascension Nodes and unlock 3 accessories for all party members and then go through the dungeon, beat the Bifross (hopefully fingers crossed) and feel good about myself afterwards!
Thank for this video. There were some parts where I just needed help. I thought people were exaggerating when they said it took them 4 hours to complete this but they really weren't. Whoever made this dungeon is a sadistic fuck. The controls were torture. One tiny push on the analog stick sends Noct flying as if he's running from all of the troubles in his awful life. I can imagine the developers laughing their asses off while they design their own personal hell. I have completed all of the secret levels in Super Mario 3D World and I thought that was hell. This is so much worse. I wouldn't even wish this dungeon on Ardyn. Ardyn is probably the way he is because he completed these treacherous trials. After completing this, I honestly feel like anything is possible. If you complete this, just remember the patience you had when doing this horrible dungeon. Remember this patience when life gives you it's most sour lemons and you will push through any situation. Overall I give this dungeon a 9/10. May the gods have mercy on those who partake the trials of the Pitioss Dungeon.
Damn I wish I would have thought of that lol. That would have helped out so much. That last section definitely had my palms sweating and that never happens for me.
Sora_X5 hahahaha! LOL I did it yesterday. Thanks to this RUclips guide, it only took me 2 hours (I kept falling down). Still, NEVER AGAIN. It was horrible and hard! Whoever thinks this is fun must really love such dungeons.
bro ur amazing, black hood not 30min like u but still.. 1 day... followed u step by step.. paused the vid like 99k times, and replayed some parts of the vid few times... xD
Tbh the way Noctis moves and lands made this dungeon 100x more frustrating than it should have. edit: i still enjoyed the dungeon though, completing it gave me satisfaction
this dungeon was so fucking stupid. if they cut 1/2 of the platforming and added monster battles, it would have made way more sense and would actually be a really cool place.
costlemark menace quest sucked, but I came prepared for that. I knew it was gonna be a classic FF challenge and enjoyed it once I finished it. this dungeon was frustrating the entire time and there was no preparation for it. it's a literal gray and brown colored guessing game that will make people waste 2+ hours just to get useless items that they don't even need. that is why I call it fucking stupid. I feel incredibly validated when I see all others who agree. I got no satisfaction when I beat it. just disappointment that I wasted that much time on it.
almost 6 years and I still have PTSD just by watching this video remembered how helpful this video was to me, not just the walkthrough but giving me hope by showing that it is actually possible to clear this dungeon lol
Don't know what kind of cancerous fuck it takes to design something like this but man, you made lots of people's lives easier with this guide. Thanks a mil.
ChromeADomeStone but he is so damn right. Not a single dungeon in FF15 was well designed. The endgame of FF15 is just horrible as hell and the main story was short.. just short and extremely simple.
oklolmann What nigga? No dungeon is well designed? Are you fuckin blind? The fuck did you expect from the dungeons, to have another whole world in them? To have mountains and transformers and shit? Nigga, the dungeons are well designed and you just sound like you're just nit picking and pulling shit out your ass, so I don't wanna hear it. The guy wasn't even saying it was terribly designed, he was just saying it was so hard and complex the person who designed it is cancerous to put us through it. It was a joke, you just used it to push an agenda.
Took me 2 weeks, 2,weeks to land the regalia there and like 6 hours to beat it and i only got to the jengi gloves and couldnt save and I had to go to bed. At least I rested at that haven nearby
Took me 6+ hours and the goddamn game crashed on me nullifying the results. Didn't need to use the walkthrough except to find the location of this shithole and to later on for some blind leaps into dark pits that I never would have figured out otherwise.
Nomura: have you finished testing the dungeon? Employees: not yet sir! 6 years after: Tabata: have you finished testing the dungeon???? Employees: NOT YET SIRRRRRR!!!!!!
I'm disappointed on square enix, I was hoping they would give you the ability to fight outside the insomia/citadel, like when you arrive in galdin with your boat and instead they created this stupid dungeon.
I know this is an old post but I started this at 6:00pm yesterday and finished at 23:35pm and it safe to say I’m NEVER EVER EVER DOING THAT AGAIN. Anybody else think that they made Noctis harder to control whilst in this dungeon? He kept just rolling off of the platforms and sometimes he’d be standing on a platform and just move forward on his own, I know there’s nothing wrong with my controller too so I got so pissed off doing this over and over again every time he just walks off a platform on his own.
The keys to precision Noctis jumping: 1) face the exact direction you wish to jump (with the camera, not necessarily his body) 2) go full forwards +jump button but immediately take your thumb off the joystick mid-jump or he will keep going. This will improve your chances to “stick” his landing.
CorrieLejjena indeed. terrible platforming. the dungeon would've been better if they included battles in the open areas and cut like 1/3 of the platforming.
Yes, and they made it too hard. Noctis would have 100+ life to pass this and "This is fantasy base on reality". Btw he can warp but seem to be on foot when it come to something like this.
Roast Potatoe hahahahahahha thank you man that made me laugh out loud. Not because you couldn't park bit rather because everyone talks about the dungeon and then you come with this hahahaja, thank you have a nice day
I watched this video for 5 minutes and I don’t wanna go in the dungeon Edit: as soon as I left the dungeon Ignis asked Noct how he faired. Noct replied “fair? There is nothing fair about that place. I quit.” 😂
Yeah, I spent 4 hours getting through it, and I finally got out with the black hood, and Ignis said, "Time for to sleep." I was in full agreement for once
@@TheEnragedMoon took me 7 hours the first time. 4 the second. 2 for the third. I did a few play throughs and wanted to do the dungeons again. I still hate this one even if I’m getting better at it.
mark torres Just because you can jump in a game doesn't make it meant for platforming...you're fighting and warping around half the time. not making timed jumps on small moving ledges and shit.
***** Yeah the rewards aren't that great either. The black hood just lets you audo dodge but I don't mind dodging. The combat would become easier than it already is if I got it lol
GODFUCKING DAMN THIS DUNGEON MY STORY IS MUCH WORSE THAN ANYONE EXPERIENCING THIS DUNGEON.. 1ST. I SPENT 4 FUCKING HOURS JUST TO COMPLETE THIS DUNGEON. IT WAS NOT HARD BUT THE JUMPS ARE THE HARDEST PART. ESPECIALLY THE LAST BUTTON. AND THEN I GOT THE BLACK HOOD AT THE END.. HOOORAYYY THEN I REALIZED THAT IT WAS LOCATED AT THE ENTRANCE. *THEY COULD HAVE JUST MADE GLADIO LIFT NOCTIS THE FUCK UP ON THAT HOLE TO GET IT.... but this is not the worst part. so after getting the damn blackhood. i wanted to see if it will automatically evade all attacks. so i went back to the regalia. AND MANUALLY DROVE IT, MADE A UTURN AND PRESSED CIRCLE TO MAKE IT FLY AND FOR FUCKING SAKE A SMASHED INTO THE DAMN MOUNTAIN/WALL AND **GAME FUCKING OVER** FOR A MOMENT I WAS SMITTEN IN SILENCE, GOD KNOWS THAT I WANTED TO DESTROY MY CONSOLE AND BURN IT, BUT I MADE MYSELF CALM AND SAID FUCK YOU SQUARE ENIX AND THIS DAMN MAZE.... OH HELLL NOOOOO
My trip to this Dungeon: 20:05: I read these comments and though: "Come on, it cant be that bad" 20:10: Not I try to land on that place. 20:50: Multiple failures later, the bird has landed and now time to search for the dungeon. 21:05 Dungeon found, have to wait till its dark... 21:30: now I am in, lets see what makes this dungeon so hard 21:45: Now I had some time to look around, isnt that bad. Just a few more switches and I guess I am done. 22:10: All the switches done and thats it huh? enters new room, music starts.... wait was that just the beginning? 22:50: HOLY MOTHER FUCKER, HOW BIG IS THIS THING 22:56: Let me look up how much there is left to do.... 22:57: *I collapse because I found out that I am at about 60%* TT_TT
I have such mixed feelings about this dungeon. I love how hidden it is, and I loved discovering it. It also looks pretty cool inside and out. What I don't like is how it has zero respect for the player's time. Want to save? Leave the dungeon and try to get back to where you were later. Don't like the sound of that? 5 hours of your time please. It's also obviously pretty frustrating, largely because of the imprecise controls that weren't designed for precise platforming. Finally, the whole thing kind of felt like it wasn't worth the trouble. The black hood is really good, but it would have been nice if there was a superboss, some cutscenes, and / or some story stuff. I feel like it was a missed opportunity to delve into the history of Solheim more. Instead, you get the black hood, and a few throwaway lines from the gang. Oh and that side-scrolling part just shouldn't have been in the game.
I'm pretty convinced all of the people complaining to this degree don't play games beyond Mario ones, because the level of bitching is incredibly immature.
I dropped this game 2 years ago because of this. I finally came back to the game, and everything you said was 100% correct. I struggled with movements and the lack of saving wasted time. One mistake would make you repeat everything and it would be time consuming. In the end l completed it but l hated every bit of that place. It was refreshing to see the daylight again
@@user-of9um8eq7j’I’ve gotten to the point when the dungeon starts to really piss me off I have to put it aside. Put the game of pause and leave my console on and come back to it.
yeah it really feels like you've stumbled into something you're not meant to see, and the movement being as janky as it is and the fact is so out of bounds and has pretty much no checkpoints somehow contribute to its weirdness, like it's strangely grounded and authentic
It's taken me over 8 hours to reach 25:00 I've put the PS4 in rest mode. If there's a power cut in the middle of the night I'm gonna jump out the window in the morning. it's that jump from the ramp after the statue. I wish there was a save point somewhere.
guess what happened, when i had to leave when i was 3h into the dungeon (about 50% complete)....i come back a few hours later AND MY PS4 HAD TURNED ITSELF OFF BECAUSE OF THE ENERGY SETTINGS....AAAAHRGH!WHYYY
I blocked at the same point, the jump after the statue, I can't reach the platform and I keep falling even before that when I try to start again. After nearly 5h I rage quitted =( so close to the end. I'll never do it again I think 😭 Lou did you make it in the end??
Hi I know this video was made almost 4 years ago now, just wanted you to know that it's still helping people out, it helped me and I'm very thankful to you. Great Video
Thanks so much for this guide. It took me 2 hour 56 mins with the guide (including a much needed tea break) and after 4 or 5 attempts I've finally managed to beat the dungeon using your route.
I feel like the 10 year development period was for voice acting, story, and polish and all that. I feel like a few teams on the side just had nothing but time to go ape shit with other parts of the game while they were waiting.
It's a shame then that even the story gets kind of "meh" for large stretches. I think there was a strong start, then going to Titan was good (even though that fight was _really bad_. Maybe I've been spoiled by Bayonetta when it comes to large enemy fights, but for fuck's sake), then the part at Altissia was good, but then the plot got kind of flimsy until the very end except for the bonding in Chapter 10 and like, the one cutscene when Noctis gets to the Crystal. I think the ending was alright, but I would've preferred more World of Ruin-based plot, a la FF VI to precede it.
Voice acting, ost, animation and graphics. All the rest feel heavily neglected, the story is good but way too short, the programmers seem to have made pretty good job the game runs well and there're barely any bugs, but when it comes to gameplay, quests, combat diversity and amount of story mode content there's a huge lack imo
I also really like the characters, but think that they're pretty much all under-utilized. Like Ardyn might be my favourite Final Fantasy villain, but pretty much all of the lore that expands on his character is shoved into the last quarter of the game because the pacing is bad and the "ending" section isn't long or expansive enough (see my comment about making the World of Ruin section more like FFVI's World of Ruin). From the information I've found, a lot of these issues stem from many different story ideas being thrown around during the development period, so when they finally settled on one, they didn't have enough time to flesh it out entirely, and at this point it would be tough to change.
Go to the room in 4:16 and if you activated the button at 25:48 then you can jump on the left column, jump again and attack the air with daggers and you’ll get to the same place
This dungeon makes me notice the flaws in the platforming that I wouldn't have noticed if I just didn't do the dungeon. Like the momentum of the jump just halts and makes you go in a straight drop, noctis automatically moving occasionally after a jump without player input to name a few.
Much appreciated! I'm certainly not playing this game for like a week. after this dungeon. Kind of pissed though that somebody got a paycheck to make this dungeon instead of the money going towards a better story.
The dungeon was actually very well designed. Square's decision to have different teams work on different parts of the game with little interaction between them and then cobble it all together into a single game was what killed it. I doubt the people designing this dungeon were aware of just how horrible the camera and movement controls were going to be in the final product.
I have how much FF XV feels like lost potential. I love the main characters, I think a lot of the lore / world stuff works, but the plot just doesn't hold it all together nicely. I have way more issues with the battle system and vast amount of sidequests and all that, but I don't want to go on a diatribe. I suppose a good way to summarize how I feel about the battling is "They should have made it work more like the Dragon Age games".
Hours of my life went into scraping my head against the wall, trying to beat this. FFXV was not made for parkour, whoever's idea it was to make this dungeon is a sadist.
This took me way more than 30 minutes... If anyone plans on doing this, set aside an hour and a half at least. This guy did it flawlessly, where realistically you will fall quite a bit.
I took 5 hours I think. Luckily during that last section you're basically right back at the beginning of the dungeon so you can always leave and save. Lol
Man I thought I hated chapter 13. I don't even like platforming. This feels like something from hell. Love the game however. I just wish they put this effort and creativity into the min game.
Honestly. Although this is an insanely difficult dungeon. I like it. It's clever and the design is mesmerising. BUT.. considering how difficult it is and how secretive it is I mean its almost impossible to know about it in the first place without a guide I expected it to be filled with godly weapons, accessories and cool shit that you can't find anywhere else in the game not a bunch of rusted bits and metal shavings! And what's the end goal. A fricking black hood!
@@omlettechefarmstrong1889 If you're at the dungeon, there's absolutely ZERO need for gil or restorative items. I'm not even 120, have already killed Adamntoise, done every quest, etc, and am doing this dungeon now (nearly done). I have all the gil I'd ever need, I have 99 of every restorative item (including Megalixers), etc. This dungeon's rewards are absolutely terrible. They should remove the junk, have 99% less "rewards", and just stick to the fancy looking chests, but only fill them with useful stuff. This dungeon is a catastrophe of game design, and a perfect example of why you shouldn't mix genres, especially at the very end when platforming has never been required, and the controls don't allow for precise movement. Not to mention, this game crashes semi-frequently (I have a 5900x, 3080, know how to maintain my PC, etc), and the lack of AUTO-SAVES around the goddess area and dungeon in general, is unforgivably poor design. Fun for me, as I like all genres, but my god is this out of place in this game. I could talk about this forever, but you get the point. I expected this to increase my opinion of the game (I quite like it overall), but it's done nothing but hurt it.
@The Eklipz My only gripe was the genre swap, and the sheer fact that this game's movement is in no way tailored to precision platforming. I've mastered games like Celeste, Super Meat Boy, etc, and while those games are 2D, the controls are predictable, and tight as ever, and the developers took serious efforts to ensure that. This game, not so much, because it didn't need it - until they tossed a precision platforming dungeon on us. It was definitely optional (great choice), but it was still an unfit activity given the engine. I did enjoy it some, but the stress of no save and potential crash was nuts. In 200+ hours I only crashed 5-10 times, so it wasn't super common, and most were related to going over VRAM (10GB on my 3080FE) due to this game's specific issues. Consoles are definitely more stable, but the other perks I had playing at my PC outweigh that stability.
Never did I think it was possible but this section actually succeeded in giving me PTSD. It was stressful, it was unbelievably tenuous and frustrating to the point that I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack because I was exhausted and emotionally annoyed. Going into this, I knew that this dungeon was going to be hard, I mean that’s what everyone kept saying so I prepared myself, with a guide immediately on hand, knowing that I was going to need it. AND LORD WAS I RIGHT! Holy chicken breast this dungeon was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! I spend a entire day all the way until 3:00 am the next day trying to finish this thing. Hours upon hours of falling and making the stupidest mistakes because Noct just can’t stand still. I’m so glad I had the guide because if it wasn’t for that I would have been in there A LOT longer. When I got done with this part I remember cheering with out, going outside and just wasted enemies with the Ring of Lucii.
Bringthewinter it's fun if u think cancer is fun. but on a serious note, completing it and getting the black hood was very satisfactory. I never have to set foot in that wretched place ever again!
I'm getting the serious impression that a lot was done wrong with this game, from the boring secret boss to this frustrating dungeon, to the lack of a summon system and magic and small party and the list goes on. But at least the graphics look good.
Quick tip for those daring to do this side of a dungeon holding the X button will make noctis walk instead of full blown running I’ve used this method it’s very useful in certain situations good luck
Thanks for this. The puzzles itself weren't difficult at all imo, but the jumps were way difficult to master. FF is obviously not a Jump'n'Run game, wonder why they had to have this dungeon include as many Jump'n'Run elements as it did.I
Thank you so much for this walkthrough!!!! Oh my goodness I can't believe I just spent 5 hours inside this nasty dungeon I need a nap now. Who knows how many hours it'd take me without this video. Thanks again!!!
Thanks alot just finished this dungeon I feel dead inside it took me 5:30 hours ( with lanuch break , watching funny vids etc ) the fails were real almost made me hate platformers almost .
I had my laptop beside me watching this video as I did this and it still took me over 7 hours. I dont know how you do it to make every jump perfect on the first try.
Thank you so much for this!!! I just finished this dungeon (thanks to you) and I feel like I deserve AT LEAST an "I survived Pitioss" shirt or something.
Christ I finally did it.. Noctis is so frustrating he never goes where I intend him to be. Additionally, he loves to take an extra step right when I land on a damn ledge... god damn.. well.. hurrah! BLACK HOOD!
Thank you for this and for showing us how to get straight to the end. I got partway through but was giving up in that room where you can’t tell up from down. So glad I found this so all of my work wasn’t for nothing.
Thank you so much for this wonderful guide, just beat it. I would also like to mention...how the hell was anybody supposed to figure this thing out without a guide???? I even tried cheating a little by equipping daggers and getting more distance on my jumps, but still... This reminds me of how to get the Anima and Magus Sister summons in FFX, it's impossible without a guide!
couple questions. when did you begin your ascension to godhood? Was it the moment you were born or did it take some time for you to figure out like the Disney Hercules movie. I was diagnosed with anal cancer after this dungeon and you did it in 30 minutes. You're a legend.
Super Fantastic couple questions super fantastic. when did you begin your descent into gayhood? did your parents disown you or did they support you from the beginning? it took R. Kelly numerous episodes to come out of the closet but I think you can do it in just one installment. best of luck in your future endeavors.

For anyone who fell off at the end and you're in the beginning room with the moving spikes at the left, look towards the left of the room. There is an open black and gold door. Run down the stairs and jump over to it and you're back at the old checkpoint

It was designed by one guy, one of the artists. The artist, Nakamura, is supposedly a fairly imaginative guy and wanted to do other more fantastic and symbolic cutscenes during the game and was ultimately shot down. His other ideas did give the producers the idea to hand the final dungeon off to him for a different style. They almost made it a traditional dungeon but changed their mind, deciding that FF had often done things different in the past, that this was just something else that would stand out in the series.
Best equips my ..... The only thing good about that dungeon was all the oracle coins i got. Allowed me to get my 3rd ribbon. hmmm...I wounder if the items respawn.........
This is the main reason you'd new game+ it, so you don't have to grab the Genji Gloves and Black Hood from that dungeon! it hurt my brain just watching a walkthrough of it!
I can't believe there is no trophy of any kind associated with doing this dungeon. Not even a trophy for completing every optional dungeon, or something. I mean, aside from the adamantoise and fishing trophies, you can almost platinum just by finishing the game. Survival, Cooking and Photography pretty much take care of themselves if you're running around and camping.
Lol i know right i mean i was doing those photo small side quests traveling everywhere triggering it and liege of the lake then all these secret dungeons and completing all the hunts getting level 99 beating all chocobo races.
where do you find the chocobo races? i have done all the side quests, the whole story, all the hunts and i'm going to do this dungeon soon, but i have not found a singel chocobo race i want to 100% this game
DON'T DIE BETWEEN 25:41 & 26:38 or you will not be able to finish this. Am I the only one that liked this vault even though I had to do it twice. It's frustrating as hell but really rewarding when you eventually get it done. There should really be a trophy for this
how? tell me how you got access to that area without breaking through that gate 26:38. if you were falling on spikes for fun within that time period then you should have no problem explaining how you got into that closed area from been warped back to vault door entrance area. There are lots of other people that would love to know how you done this as well
gav_fitzpatrick I fell during the time you mentioned and my 'checkpoint' was at the beginning like it happened to a few people here. If you jump back to about the four minute mark of the video, that section there has you platform to where the actual 'checkpoint' drops you, so you don't lose too much time even if that worst-case scenario happens.
Halston Reed Ok if you say so. all I know is I spent over a hour trying to get back to that general location (had to give up because I was already late for work), but no matter where I went or jumped of the edge I would always spawn back at the entrance. anyways I flew it the second time i done it except for the time period I mentioned. Jesus I shit myself with every jump thinking I would fuck up again. It was all worth it in the end getting the black hood. wish I had of done this dungeon before I done the vaults, would have made them so much easier
Now I understand why this game was 10 years in development. 1 year for the actual game and 9 for the fucking dungeon!

why this dungeon is difficult
10% confusing
10% skill based
80% noctis rolling off platforms and/or randomly moving forward after landing a jump
The most relatable thing comment
OMFG I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING, I just finished the dungeon, but what irked me more than that was when you jump and attack in mid air for a bit of hang time and THEN you hand, notes will still glide until he puts his weapon away which fucks my head
That and the fact that you run AND attack with the circle button. 2 things you absolutely dont want to get mixed.
developer: “how hard would you like this dungeon to be sir?”
director: “yes”
Lol
Love how Noctis just walks out of literal hell and yawns like it was cake, baby.
Yeah i watched this vid then when i did my run, i forgot about that part and laughed so hard i missed the 2nd jump and fell.
There is a meme for what you just said
He even said stuff like challenge accepted when he fails to do something so yeah , Noct is going all out
Especially as it took 10 days in Eos time to complete for me personally. Like his bros waited for him for almost 2 weeks. 😂
@@ltz888 maybe Noct spent ten years on defeating this dungeon in crystal
This dungeon is the perfect example of why you should not put super precise platforming into a game that lacks precise controls.
you just need a little bit of practise and learn how noctis moves :D
It isnt as bad as platforming in FFXIV lol
Just passed through it... I have one world for the parkour: AIDS
Well thank god this guy came along and made it possible for some of us plebs to get that black hood.
Noctis it's just fucking despering. Everytime he moves, turns, stops... he slips like a half meter.
god that part with the angled walls gave me some serious vertigo. it was like being in a fun house minus the fun.
I know right plus its pitch black so its like....Ok i go this way.....nope.....ok then this ....... Crap i fell now gotta do it all over......Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.......
I did that shit at 4 in the morning. Idk how the fuck I managed XD
It's the only time since playing this game that I experienced dizziness and mild nausea to where frequent breaks were needed. Ugh!
I was felling sick the day I first tried this dungeon. First Room with diagonal floors I tried until the room IRL was spinning and the need to lose my lunch was approaching so I GTO the dungeon and stayed clear for months.
Fun house minus the fun so a house? The angled wall was like being in a house okay cool
Just stayed up all night finishing this dungeon, got everything, left to fly back and rest up, crashed my car, died, forgot to save. Going to off myself now, thanks for the video though.
Matty Bizz dude... I would destroy my place if that happened to me lol
Exactly the same thing that happened to me my dude
Just happened to me. Pretty sure its designed that way...No auto save when its completed is lame.
Fuckin hell, feel sorry for you bro
Matty Bizz Same exact thing happened to me, second play through is much easier luckily.
I want to thank you for making this video, because I know for a indisputable fact I would not have cleared this dungeon without it. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna save my game, cry for a little bit, and then fly to Japan to fight somebody at Square Enix.
I agree, thanks!

3 hours later I just wanna get out of here. But I'm too far in to just turn off the PS4, otherwise it would all have been a waste.
Dude you described it perfectly
@Sci-Fi Admirer
I did in the final stretch and the goddamn game crashed on me. Not doing it again. Fuck this game.
I was five hours in today and rage quit.
I was expecting the game to crash randomly like always, so every time I completed a piece I did go back to save
@Sci-Fi Admirer how ??
Remember guys, ardyn had to go through this torture too. Thats why he is the way he is.

I skip a lot of the items on the floor and in nearby places in this, I know it'll frustrate some people but I didn't want the video to be longer than necessary. Those items are mainly things like Hi-Potion x10. I show the direct route to the Black Hood, as well Genji Gloves etc. This dungeon is very confusing so hopefully this helps :)
thank you,
i also dont want to waste time on hi-potions and stuff I can get easily
this video helped me a lot
Do you need to restart the game in order to unlock the regalia F type and the secret dungeon or you can do it in your first run after beating the final boss?
All this fatigue for 1 secret item?
Not even a super special boss fight???
what status genji gloves gives?
+30% resistance to lightning, darkness and ballistic damage
It says "enemy free" dungeon but there is an enemy. The dungeon itself is the enemy.
*Edit*

Soooo true
your patience is the enemy
U mean being inpatient.
No, all of you are wrong. It's when you thought you landed safely and then Noctis freaking rolls and proceeds to fall.
Ok, I'm wrong. What is your point?
" lets make a 4 hour long dark souls style platformer hell even though Noctis can't fucking jump properly"
aSHTEBALA Fucking EXACTLY Noctis kept doing STUPID SHIT. I was surprised how little time it took me to do it
Dark Souls' Blighttown is much more tame than this dungeon.😂 This was probably designed by Miyazaki.
That moment when you realise this dungeon is more Tomb Raider than Tomb Raider.
This is why Square doesn't make Tomb Raider dungeons more epic, they leave the epicness of dungeons to one of their number one cash cows, Final Fantasy. XD
glad i aint the only one who felt that way
this dungeon gave me terrible flashbacks of old gritty, pointy-boobed PS1 Lara Croft being killed in sorts of ways cause I fell into so many traps :(
That moment when you read a comment and realise they've got an FFXV and Tomb Raider crossover event coming up soon...

They should've made completing this dungeon a trophy, I honestly want to know how many people actually succeeded in completing it. Cause I'll tell you it was hard as hell, but gave an immense sense of satisfaction afterward.
But then you realize that the rewards isn't enough to match your satisfaction and time worth.
Sucks that there is no trophy.

@@HIGHDRONER Yeah my first run pissed me off so i did a search on the items to see if they were worth it. Nope. Still did the dungeon just so i could say i did it.
Did the game decide to auto/ run or not? etc.
When you're in a real tight spot and the camera starts to feel like a jerk so you have no idea how close Noctis is to death.
Dude I move 1 foot and noct is like WATCH ME DANCE BITCH!
I was supposed to be having post game depression from the sad ending cutscene. Came here and had a real depression

and I thought The Menace Beneath Costlemark was hell, I was in my mid level 90's and I got to the end and realised that I couldn't physically beat that Bifross without throwing my pc out the window, so I'm gonna go back in later, with several Fire and Lightning Crests (to deal with the elemental attacks of the Bifross and the Elder Coeurl's/Uttu's respectively) and I'm gonna get all the best recovery Ascension Nodes and unlock 3 accessories for all party members and then go through the dungeon, beat the Bifross (hopefully fingers crossed) and feel good about myself afterwards!
Did you try walking by holding down the defend button? The last section was brutal with the tiny platforms. This certainly helped.
Damn I wish I would have thought of that lol. That would have helped out so much. That last section definitely had my palms sweating and that never happens for me.

this dungeon was so fucking stupid. if they cut 1/2 of the platforming and added monster battles, it would have made way more sense and would actually be a really cool place.
costlemark menace quest sucked, but I came prepared for that.

I know this is an old post but I started this at 6:00pm yesterday and finished at 23:35pm and it safe to say I’m NEVER EVER EVER DOING THAT AGAIN. Anybody else think that they made Noctis harder to control whilst in this dungeon? He kept just rolling off of the platforms and sometimes he’d be standing on a platform and just move forward on his own, I know there’s nothing wrong with my controller too so I got so pissed off doing this over and over again every time he just walks off a platform on his own.
you were not alone, many times noctis walked on his on and fell off, ps2 controller, windows version. There was nothing normal about this dungeon.
Same here I was inside the dungeon for hours and I gave up at the bit where the giant skull head is
The keys to precision Noctis jumping:
1) face the exact direction you wish to jump (with the camera, not necessarily his body)
2) go full forwards +jump button but immediately take your thumb off the joystick mid-jump or he will keep going. This will improve your chances to “stick” his landing.
Ur a real 1
A platformer dungeon in a non-platformer game. What a nightmare.
I wish they at the very least included camps so you could save and take a break without worrying about the power being cut and losing your progress...
Why can he not point-warp outside of battle?
@alexanderinoa7850 Right? And somehow, they put camps inside some base game dungeons that didn't need it yet this particular they don't.

Apparently this whole dungeon is a training ground built by the previous civilization, kinda wish they expanded the lore a little bit too.
Me: .
^I see we share the same interest in that character :^)

I was questioning my sanity, when screwing up a few of the jumps 100 times. Thank you.

True like the person who made this level is a sick genius. They made this and couldn't make a better chapter 13?
16:46 topsy-turvy room 19:18 2D section 20:36 Room with Eos 23:46 Metal Catwalks
this looks crazy, I'm not even even gonna attempt this, props to anyone that have completed this
KRATOS i fcking completed this dungeon just now . Make sure to save after you have done all of this bullshit . Phew what a relief
Arief Hyqal well done man
thank you!! finished today after 4h
KRATOS I just finished this bs 😩
I've completed it. Lucky me.
Cake, baby.
Sharp erryday
9hst 3st am i the only 1 who cringed at that?
No. No, you aren't.
And you forgot to click save after had got black hood...
TheRoflcopterGod it took me waay over an hour and a half lol, i kept falling off
I took 5 hours I think. Luckily during that last section you're basically right back at the beginning of the dungeon so you can always leave and save. Lol
TheRoflcopterGod No. You WILL fall every time you think you'll make it on that pkatform.
atleast 4 hrs for me
Just finished it. Around 5 hours without a guide.
This dungeon is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a video game. The physics just do not work with tight platforming
Man I thought I hated chapter 13. I don't even like platforming. This feels like something from hell. Love the game however. I just wish they put this effort and creativity into the min game.
Ricky Cornett "Then lose the jacket." 😭
FFXV
Amazing game
SHIT AWFUL PLATFORMING CONTROLS
That’s exactly why after I found out what the rewards was I quit cause I was just wasting my time for something I don’t even need
I mean, it allows you to autododge constantly, like those reflex enhancer items but constantly.
plus, you get a shit ton of worthless items you can sell for money, and lots of items to the point where you wont need to buy restoratives for a while
@@omlettechefarmstrong1889 If you're at the dungeon, there's absolutely ZERO need for gil or restorative items.
No wonder this game took 10 years to make. 5 of those were spent designing this dungeon
I dunno about you guys, but I was just screaming, "You can f***ing WARP, Noctis. WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING WITH THIS."
Thats why the game took 10 years to be made. 9 was spent doing this dungeon.
Wow, this really looks like the complete opposite of fun.
Bringthewinter frustrating :(
Bringthewinter it is
Bringthewinter it's fun if u think cancer is fun. but on a serious note, completing it and getting the black hood was very satisfactory. I never have to set foot in that wretched place ever again!
I'm getting the serious impression that a lot was done wrong with this game, from the boring secret boss to this frustrating dungeon, to the lack of a summon system and magic and small party and the list goes on.
But at least the graphics look good.
rick hunter HAHAHAHAHAHA
Quick tip for those daring to do this side of a dungeon holding the X button will make noctis walk instead of full blown running I’ve used this method it’s very useful in certain situations good luck
Thanks for this.
The puzzles itself weren't difficult at all imo, but the jumps were way difficult to master. FF is obviously not a Jump'n'Run game, wonder why they had to have this dungeon include as many Jump'n'Run elements as it did.I
I have 3 questions...
1. Who designed this dungeon?
2. What was he on?
3. Where can I get some?
*Cake, Baby*
*kek, babeh.*
Backfire
Not "cake, baby", it's "cake baby." A baby made of cake.
@@ObeyCamp ha ha ha ......
Took me 5 hours to get the end! By far one of the hardest things I've done in a game. A lot of people won't get this item. As it should be.
The real reason Ardyn was so messed up is because he got lost in this dungeon 😂
Yeah
Thank you so much for this walkthrough!!!! Oh my goodness I can't believe I just spent 5 hours inside this nasty dungeon I need a nap now. Who knows how many hours it'd take me without this video. Thanks again!!!
I got no satisfaction from completing this dungeon.
@amail someoneeveryone same here
same
For the sake of completion, you have to do it.
Yeah mainly because the reward was so not worth it. I still play this game to this day I have over 350 hours on it and I've never used the black hood.
I don't know what to say, but the only think is that this level comes from HELL
2:49 me: what, can't the others also jump the fence?
Few minutes after: those dudes knew and didn't warned me!
Additionally, he loves to take an extra step right when I land on a damn ledge... god damn.. well.. hurrah! BLACK HOOD!
The body of that goddess statue helped me retain my sanity. ugh such fine art
Thank you for this and for showing us how to get straight to the end. I got partway through but was giving up in that room where you can’t tell up from down. So glad I found this so all of my work wasn’t for nothing.
26:16 I just like how he smoothly SPRINTED through that part...
No, it's not...
I stopped playing this game 1 year ago today because of this dungeon. I picked it back up and finally beat it just now. So thank you :)
couple questions. when did you begin your ascension to godhood? Was it the moment you were born or did it take some time for you to figure out like the Disney Hercules movie. I was diagnosed with anal cancer after this dungeon and you did it in 30 minutes. You're a legend.
Kleptics BRUH CHILL YO XD
you are just bad lmao but he will be happy with the compliment.
Super Fantastic couple questions super fantastic. when did you begin your descent into gayhood? did your parents disown you or did they support you from the beginning? it took R. Kelly numerous episodes to come out of the closet but I think you can do it in just one installment. best of luck in your future endeavors.
Kleptics kek
Kleptics You made my fucking year with that comment
merely watching that irritated me to no end. I can't even imagine doing all that. but I digress. what exactly do the genii gloves and black hood do?
genji gloves ad 30% resistance to most elements, black hood auto evades attacks for you
***** how exactly does the auto evade function work? because the reflex enhancer says it's supposed to do the same thing but it never seems to work for me. even with regular attacks that i could normally dodge myself.
tyler sakiyama doesn't evade if you are attacking, in the air etc
***** oh, that may be why. thanks. do you know of any other unique accessories? i'm hoping someone finds one that stops royal arms from depleting your health. and thanks for the quick replies.
HarryNinetyFour so is the hood basically a permanent reflex E?
For anyone who fell off at the end and you're in the beginning room with the moving spikes at the left, look towards the left of the room. There is an open black and gold door. Run down the stairs and jump over to it and you're back at the old checkpoint
Thanks!!
... it's just sitting there... at the end... where he could've reached it with a fucking stepladder... beating all five souls-borne games was easier than this...
Damn right it is!
Square: Okay we need an excuse to make the Regalia Type F more cool
Square employee: I KNOW Lets make a dungeon that only It can Access!
Square: Great idea! we can have the harde-
Square employee 2: Wait! That new Zelda Game came out didn't it! That was cool! We should make a dungeon like one of the shrines!
Square: But the game isn't designed for precision platforming!
Square employee 2: Yea but that will make it harder! and lets put some of the best equips in there and make it hard as shit!
Square: But wouldn't the player get ma-
Square employee 2: I already have it done sir!
Square: are you kidding me! Well lets put it in anyway and not test to see if the game mechanics work with the dungeon.
And thus this was made!
Lets spend all our time making this pointless dungeon and leave the other half of the game incomplete.
Fighter Mcwarrior; You mean 'The Artist Formerly Known as Employed'..?
FFXV came out almost a year before Breath of the Wild. 90 wasted likes
Best equips my ..... The only thing good about that dungeon was all the oracle coins i got. Allowed me to get my 3rd ribbon. hmmm...I wounder if the items respawn.........
Kein einziges Mal gefallen, kein einziges Mal falsch gelaufen... Ist zu perfekt, hat bestimmt Jahre lang geübt 😆👍 trotzdem danke
I THINK THE HARDEST PART OF THIS IS LANDING THE CAR AT NIGHT
Just land the car in the afternoon when the sun is still out and then hang around outside. Way easier, just gotta be a lil patient with it
Peter Nguyen THANK YOU!
This dungeon obviously has a story behind it...Pitioss.....Pity Eos....
Pity us
the level desigenr for this game had most of his stuff scrapped n basically had this dungeon implemented as a secret to show he worked on it
No more. That idea was discarded in 2015 and there is no trace of the goddess Eos beyond this place.
No amount of rare items it worth the ass clenched experience that is this dungeon l.
This is the main reason you'd new game+ it, so you don't have to grab the Genji Gloves and Black Hood from that dungeon! it hurt my brain just watching a walkthrough of it!
@@deinonychus1948 where are those items after new game plus?
I had sweaty hands. I NEVER get sweaty fucking hands. Fuck this dungeon.
ShadowCat yeah, the trophy list is very boring. There's so much in the game for you to do which wasn't included :/
HarryNinetyFour i died at min 26:30 , is there any way to going here or i habe tonre-doing the dungeon from te skull at min 12?
It was all worth it in the end getting the black hood. wish I had of done this dungeon before I done the vaults, would have made them so much easier
gav_fitzpatrick it's a place I will revisit any day. I loved it. I loved all that "island" with some heavy enemies
+Q Che Omg!!! Thank you! You are my savor! I was about freak out and reck everything!
Math is my worst nightmare. but one day I knew this dungeon...
