You went over the 2 remaining vehicle tunnels that go under the ICW that still remain in Louisiana. One is under the Harvey Canal just past the lock you were in, and the other is in Houma near where you all docked for the night. There used to be a third tunnel under the ICW in Belle Chasse but it was permanently closed last year (December, 2023) as a new toll bridge is under construction in Belle Chasse that goes over the ICW. I also was on tugs in the 1970s, usually in the Gulf of Mexico, Mississippi River, and ICW between Mississippi and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Good times, beautiful sights.
It’s nice too see a pleasure yacht navigate especially my area (Houma) I myself am a seasonal Capt working in the oil and gas industry (offshore) operating a offshore supply vessel, like your content my relief Capt does the exact thing you doing delivering pleasure crafts some to even the Bahamas via Florida, him to love’s it. Keep it coming
I enjoy your channel. Locking through on the ICW and Okeechobee Waterway is much different than what I was used to for 50+ years in the Puget Sound. When I ran a boat down from Tarpon Springs and around to Jacksonville I was surprised to find that oftimes we were the only ones in the locks, and the handling lines were already hanging on the lock walls! Even more eye opening was the friendliness of the lock attendants; AND, a private vessel was allowed to contact the lock master prior to entry. How nice that is! The locks in Seattle are run much different and depending upon which chamber, you are often locking through with 35 other boats, a third of which have owner on their first time through. The lock masters won't talk to you on the VHF and the commercial vessels first rule is so strict that one might wait for several hours before a chamber is opened to allow Joe boater to proceed.
@Nitrox4me, the owner had the $300K or whatever to buy the boat, but most likely lacks the confidence to deal with the haul. That’s where our Captain here comes in. Sweet gig.
@@melodymakermark I understand that, but I thought accompanying you guys to learn. When I sold my Grady White (divorce) the new owner came down to my house on Palm Island, near Englewood. I had him and his wife accompany me to his home port of Palm Harbor north of Clearwater. His previous boat was a pontoon, so I figured he could use some instructions/lessons. Granted it wasn't the run you did, but... I miss my Grady!
Port Arthur Texas is in my neck of the woods. I was born there and live about 20 miles from their now. Still fish there in the ICW and Sabine Lake and Sabine Pass Area. Stumbled on your video and enjoyed it very much. Thank You and Charlie for the entertainment and enlightenment !
I’ve worked and stayed in Houma, LA many times. I used to stay at what was called the Holiday Inn Holidome, or some such. This was back in the ‘90’s. I liked that town, though. River Cajuns are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They don’t take any crap, though. I love Louisiana.
You can just about see my boat from where you docked at Seabrook. This was great info as I hope to be taking my boat in the opposite direction before too long. Thanks!
I had to pull my IPad out to follow you Way cool, I bought my boat in summer of 2005, Katrina hit in August I spent the new year in N.O. So I my brought boat to Seabrook Marine in N.O. and learn how to handle it in the waters around there . That trip would be fun.
Houma- making groceries 😂. As a Chicago born bred and raised and living down by Houma now, it’s nice to see people like Tito. There are not a lot of dependable people around this neck of the woods.
I’ve ran the intercoastal from port Isabelle to key west bite and all across the gulf. I truly liked docking in Morgan City and Houma. But where the video starts at Gulfport Municipal is probably the cheapest and nicest for the money other than a fixed pier. Only down side is if a storm comes you have to move your Boat or be charge thousands daily plus damages
@trevorlahey1956 other then at the campground I've never docked in Morgan City but when I was young every year my dad and grandpa would take there shrimp boats from Houma to Gulfport/Biloxi and he used to say he hated shrimping there but he loved being docked down there 🤣
Wonder if a chest mount camera is feasable vs the head mount? Love the content, some of it is hard to watch with the rapid head movement. Bit dizzying at times. It could be restrictive of movement i get it,Just a thought.
Yes Captain great informative video! I have watched your other videos, and I must say in ALL HONESTY, please do not move your Camera so much‼️ Your great content is grossly over shadowed by the quick movements of your camera. I will watch another future video that you post and if you cannot move your camera so much, I WILL subscribe to your channel. Thanks for trying to modify how much you move your camera 😀👍
As a x Crue boat captain for Seacore Marine I’ve had my share locks and skinny water. Biggest problem where the Shrimp boats wakes, outriggers lowered and , no response to radio calls.
Never did this trip but thanks for the great bits of info, would love to send my cv if you ever need help, I live in Tampa Bay Beach area! Keep up the great videos!
Have you ever done US thru Panama Canal, and or possibly ever interested if I get one? Thanks Cap, great video, and definitely need a special dictionary for the language there, it’s crazy, I have a great friend from there another captain and I can’t understand a word he says!
LoL yea, good buddy has had that meaning sense at least the early 90s if not forever, unlike what movies say. As a rule, you should never say anything on the radio that you heard on a movie.
It only makes sense to disrespect someone else’s boat if you are pretending to be a legitimate captain. This guy reminds me of Kenny Powers from the show east bound and down. I admit i cant stop watching him be a total idiot
This would have been great if the camera had been giving us the surroundings instead of focused on the captain during potentially interesting points, like entering the locks. Too much of just watching the captain talk on the radio or verbalize where they are and what they are seeing. Camera off the captain and on the surroundings would make this a subscribe. On the more positive side, at least when the camera was on the captain it was steady.
What a fucking chump. To say saltgrass over Schaffer’s, or Tbone Tom’s. Let alone any other restaurant that’s not a chain. Lmao. Hell even Ivetts Italian a little further down will blow saltgrass off the dock. You should try to live a little

Awesome trip Capt. Good to see there is still good people like Tito in this country.
I was born and raised in Houma that’s how
bayou people are we try to take care of one another glad you had a good stay

I love to see more Charlie. I'm going to follow your channel now. First time viewer.
Enjoyed the view of the Harvey canal and lock from the water. I'm usually crossing the bridges.
Give Charlie some kudos! Wagner and steak. A great combination! And yeas, butter is good for searing the steak.
Good job on recognizing where to be capt! I can’t tell you how many guys want to run down in the channel right in front of us at Algiers point!
Enjoyed riding along! Very interesting job you have! You’re good at it!
Haveen never watched this sort of show. Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.

Enjoyed your delivery video. Makes us homesick for our 34 American Tug that we did the Loop on. Owned it 10 years. Sorry we ever sold it. Great boat.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. So interesting.
Nice job all the way around Captain.
One would think that the owner/captain would want to experience this journey. Great video!

LOVE the layout of this tug!
I'm planning on spending a lot of time on the water in the near future I'm trying to soak in as much as I can
Rigolets pronounce Rig o leze. Enjoyed the video

I would enjoy going from Galveston to Mississippi. It was fun on my sailboat
Hello Captain,I just happened by Your channel.I’m very impressed with your videos,I think I’m going to watch more of them.
Enjoyed this very much be safe Captian
Great video I was born in Gulfport and live in Houston so the Inter coastal is always an interest.
You can just about see my boat from where you docked at Seabrook. This was great info as I hope to be taking my boat in the opposite direction before too long. Thanks!
Rig-oh-lees. No clue if it's right, but that's how we say it!
New subscriber here.
Little Johnny.
Heading to my Home Town Galveston
Just found your channel. Enjoyed this first one. Keep em coming.

There is a harbor dock about 6 miles up the Avery Canal in Delcambre La fuel food and North Pier Marina Great Dockage
As a Houma native, this was very cool to see.
You got it right.
"RIG O LEES"
Houma- making groceries 😂. As a Chicago born bred and raised and living down by Houma now, it’s nice to see people like Tito. There are not a lot of dependable people around this neck of the woods.
Just looking at all the past hurricane damage as you're passing through the industrial areas in NOLA
I'd like to see the navionics or whatever navigation course plot. Great video Skipper.
Interesting..my two cents.
Take the spring forward line as the last line . It’s easier to keep the boat where it is.
Use it also as the first line.
❤️🚢😎👋 Greetings Captain
Algiers lock is always busier than Harvey lock with commercial traffic.
One of your clips where off and had me all confused trying to map where a train crossed the ICW by houma 😂😂
I’ve ran the intercoastal from port Isabelle to key west bite and all across the gulf. I truly liked docking in Morgan City and Houma. Good intel and tips@
Would have loved a full tour of the boat.
Wonder if a chest mount camera is feasable vs the head mount? Love the content, some of it is hard to watch with the rapid head movement. Bit dizzying at times. It could be restrictive of movement i get it,Just a thought.
Expressed the same thought on a previous video.

She’s a cool looking boat.
I saw ya’ll Saturday passing through Port Sulphur, La on the intracoastal.
Rig-ah-Leez. Shoulda had the pole out, lol.
I would really wear shoes on a vessel this size
Charlies foot and toes would make a good anchor. Ha.
As a x Crue boat captain for Seacore Marine I’ve had my share locks and skinny water. Biggest problem where the Shrimp boats wakes, outriggers lowered and , no response to radio calls.
Don’t forget Port Isabel , barge dropped our causeway , they said the strong north wind pushed it into the bridge
You were docked about 1/4 mile from my house in Houma.
Never did this trip but thanks for the great bits of info, would love to send my cv if you ever need help, I live in Tampa Bay Beach area! Keep up the great videos!

Bit dizzy Capt.
so was this a paying job?
Very knowledgeable Captain 👨✈️
you should show more of what's going on outside instead of a video of you.
Awesome❤
Looking to buy a c dory 22 newbie will need training
A little out of order but great video. Houma - Berwick - ICY
Hahaha I thought it was a yacht in the description it's a houseboat too funny
Damn sure not a Tug
LoL yea, good buddy has had that meaning sense at least the early 90s if not forever, unlike what movies say. As a rule, you should never say anything on the radio that you heard on a movie.
Not bad, McGee.
Get your foot off the dash. How would you like if someone just kicked their bare feet up on the dash of your vehicle with your permission?
It only makes sense to disrespect someone else’s boat if you are pretending to be a legitimate captain. This guy reminds me of Kenny Powers from the show east bound and down. I admit i cant stop watching him be a total idiot
Its Rig-Oh-Lees
If you ever get stuck on that trip again. Publix Treasure Island has a dock.
I'm in Seabrook. Welcome.
Shouldn't be an issue getting an uber in Gulfport. I used to uber there. Every other car is an uber.
yeah with the casino's .Ubers have never been a problem there for me
Nice.
Rigo-lees is how we pronounce it.
That looked like a charter. Which would make for a more interesting video honestly.
Why the ICW?
Seems like a bunch of work that way, and the boat had enough range.
This would have been great if the camera had been giving us the surroundings instead of focused on the captain during potentially interesting points, like entering the locks. Hate to break it to ya “Capt” but that ain’t no container ship…
Rig-ah-lees
Pronounced Rigalee's
I hate RUclips. Everytime I read a comment a commercial pops up. Then you lose the comment. AHoles make you watch the ad.
Rigolets is pronounced rig-o-lees by locals
as I kid I took a 15 foot skiff through there with 20hp evenrude LOL it can be interesting
Bare Foot On A Boat That’s “Not Yours”😮
I was thinking the same thing. Get your big ass nasty feet of off my wood work!!!! LOL
I can’t think of anything worse than making that run in boat that makes 7.5 knots. Well it would be worse if the owner was on there.
Hit up Saltgrass Steak House in Adjacent city of Kemah.
What a fucking chump. To say saltgrass over Schaffer’s, or Tbone Tom’s. Let alone any other restaurant that’s not a chain. Lmao. Hell even Ivetts Italian a little further down will blow saltgrass off the dock. You should try to live a little
What does it cost to hire a captain for a trip like this?
I wish they would they us how the locks they work.
Tug????
Your camera works makes me sea sick...................................
You lost me at toothpick in the mouth...
But uh….
Houma pronounced hoo ma or who ma ...J/S
As a Houma resident you are incorrect lol. It’s pronounced hoe-ma
