“What’s the right side again?” 😂😂😂 “honey, let’s go buy an expensive twin engine boat today ..even though we havent the slightest clue about boating”😅😅 This was a great one 😂😂😂
I’ve taught many to drive twins. So pick it up right away others never get it. I had one that didn’t know port from starboard so I started telling him left and right and he didn’t know left from right. He never did get it and sold the boat.
Tug????
Pronounced Rigalee's
Do you have a bit wheel onto your port side engine sending a lot of vibrations through the hull
Dip the tank
I grew up on the Great Lakes. My dad started boatiing in the summer of '81 with a late 60's '38 Chris Craft Commander and in the spring of '83 he upgraded to a 1973 '42 Uniflite. Chris Craft had twin gas engines and the Uniflite had twin Cummins diesels. A world of difference and we both much prefered the power, longevity and reliability of the Cummins. The Uniflite was way up in northern Michigan (we're in Cleveland, Oh) and he took our marina head mechanic with him for the trip. In the spring of '83 my dad had much to still learn and our marina mechanic was a godsend and purveyor of more marine & boating knowledge than anyone else. Sometimes you need someone who's got vast experience and a Captain to help.
going UPSTAIRS ?---Topside sir
Love the education. Thanks!!!
I hate RUclips. Everytime I read a comment a commercial pops up. Then you lose the comment. AHoles make you watch the ad.
You lost me at toothpick in the mouth...
I need a Dramamine from the boat tour camera spinning
Nice work, I probably would have wussed out and used the joystick 🙂
Great job. I did it reverse trip but imagine if the fiberglass muffler was cracked to prevent you going over 8 knots before pressure opened up flow of water in the engine compartment. That was my head scratcher because we couldn’t find the leak going 20 knots. Your doing great captain
When’s his turn? Thats a good size boat he might wanna ask for a little bigger slip.
Hi Captin, you know your stuff !! One thought take it for what it's worth. The way you speak to your clients is somewhat arrogant and condescending. I've coached for years not boating but lots of youth sports. When you coach with that tone, it creates nervousness and stress resulting in fatigue. I appreciate what you do and I'm grateful for the videos please know my comments are with love kindness !!
Should have one more control botom for one CONTROL BOOTH A SAME TIME NOT TRYING BUSH 2 BOTOM SAME TIME VAN YOU VAN TO PLANE THE BOAT
Captain shifting is second nature for you, having done so many times. What are your thoughts on the "thumbs" method for students until shifting is second nature? FYI for viewers unfamiliar with the Thumbs Method. Put both hands on shifters with your thumbs pointing at each other. The direction of each thumb is the direction the boat will turn. Quad concept: Think of the four quadrants of the shifters. Forward moves the Bow. Reverse moves the Stern. Port thumb moves right. Starboard thumb moves left. Examples: Port Forward, the thumb and the Bow of the boat both go Right. Port Reverse, the thumb and the Stern of the boat both go Right. Starboard Forward, the thumb and the Bow of the boat both go Left. Starboard Reverse, the thumb and the Stern of the boat both go Left. Therefore: As a practical matter actual use is backward from above. For example. I want the stern to go right. Think of the two options to move the stern (Reverse) and then which thumb points to the right (Port). Port Reverse.
When on shore power with only one shore power cord connected, shouldn't the Transfer breaker also be on so both AC lines are powered from the one cord?
I would really wear shoes on a vessel this size
I found a centerline shallow (6-degree) Glass Tube Inclinometer near the helm useful.
After reattaching the safety clip you should let out the rode to relax the chain otherwise the windless is still under full stress.
Just because the bank approved the loan on your New 300k dollar vessel doesn't mean you're automatically a "Captain" Stick to your office work sweetie. Leave the MAN stuff to the MEN
Has anyone taken a uscgaux safe boating class ?
What if it's a flat bottom boat?
It would have been fantastic at 21:21 to film you showing the new owners how to properly turn on the blower while fueling the new boat. Your expertise could really make a difference! ruclips.net/video/wAM_EtjxFhE/видео.htmlsi=hqrZItiJSJ7zPR2B
thanks!
Presque Isle Peninsula, not island,
Enjoyed watching you go through the locks. A few years ago I helped a friend take his 45’ down the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. 28 locks. The first one dropped 80’!
I did a similar trip except we went from Miami to Pensacola 5 years ago on my 480 DB. Your trip brought back some good memories. Way cool.
I had to pull my IPad out to follow you Way cool, I bought my boat in summer of 2005, Katrina hit in August I spent the new year in N.O. So I my brought boat to Seabrook Marine in N.O. and learn how to handle it in the waters around there . That trip would be fun.
What does it cost to hire a captain for a trip like this?
nice job captain
As a Houma native, this was very cool to see.
All these muppets talking about try it on a 20ft boat or didn't make a big wake, while they themselves have never tried it and I bet most don't even own a boat of any size. 😂
Bringing the family (dog included) along is not the greatest idea...but buying and trying to Captain a very expensive boat without knowing literally any boating basics isn't either. I hope he can't afford a plane.
very informative, thank you.
Tough job my man, somebodies gotta do it;) Glad things are good after the storm
I can see why you "volunteered" for this cruise. Love your videos. Do you only do training, or do you consult with buying too? Would love to call the Tampa/St. Pete area home. Beautiful area. My first visit was way back in the 50's. Damn, I was paying attention too!
Decent top 10, i would split fried restaurants in a separate list. Live in Mobile. Left off tin top.
Are you saying that Jewfish sandbar now extends close to the bridge after Milton or just referring to normal path for deep draft boats. Looks like that island on Jewfish got rocked hard!
It’s kind of always been that way
@@thecaptainscoach We are local and haven't been out since pre-Milton. Wasn't sure if you were implying a major change due to Hurricane. Glad to hear it is basically the same.
“I trust him with my … ! … with the boat.” 😂
Interesting..my two cents. Take the spring forward line as the last line . It’s easier to keep the boat where it is. Use it also as the first line.
My thought process has always been: regardless of what color your markers are, it's just like driving a car; keep to the right of the lanes
Works in most cases, yes. However, not sure how it is in the US, but in Europe you might not always have both green and red markers. Only one colour, especially in tight areas/canals. So you’ll need to know which main direction is used.
Good job captain! Fun video to watch.
You had a lot of wind to deal with. You handled the Drunk chick thing better than I could’ve. Good job
Great footage coming back in there! I had to watch it a few times before I noticed the dolphins and the sunset though.
Great job going out and bringing bringing her back in.
