My hair is white and Grey and black and brown and yellow and silver and platinum blond and I don't try to control it anymore. It is stunning and I hear that almost daily. It is unlike anyone else's hair trying to control and manipulate it artificially . Enjoy your natural state ladies. Less is more and love and acceptance is contagious and infectious but it starts within.
She has absolutely beautiful hair. I’m having trouble liking my grey and keep it covered 😢. I just can’t get through the transition stage. It’s traumatic for some reason. I’m Caucasian and my hair is very fine texture and mostly straight. I love seeing the transformations you perform. ❤
Gray hair picks up the yellow because of the breaking of the sulfur bonds within hair. Therefore, when the ceramics hit her hair, the heat level deposited the sulfur bonds on her hair. This happens on everyone; however, gray hair shows it because of its lightness. Low heat will deposit less. There are two ways sulfur bonds get broken: chemicals and heat. Chemicals will produce heat to open the bond and prepare it for chemical change. Heat (ie., pressing, or silking) will do the same depending on the frequency and temperature of the tool. **I am a former cosmetologist of over 20 years.
She also said salt-n-pepper is wiry hair. Which is not true. Wiry is a feel, not a color or absence of color. Salt-n-pepper is an almost equal blend of dark colored hair and hair with the absence of pigment (gray/silver). Now, as far as the yellowish tones reappearing while using direct heat tools, the tools are either too hot for the hair texture or are not clean. It could also be that the chelating agent in the shampoo wasn't strong enough to detox the medication that she takes or tar from her cigarettes out of her hair. That's if she smokes. It could be a plethora of things. Me, personally would have round brushed those ringlets into her hair with a tiny bit of Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi styling foam.

I’ve been natural for 30+ yrs but now that I’m all gray and 30 yrs later I miss my wrap and the convienence of carefree with minimal heat I’m about to relax and call it a day! As much as I love loc and Afro styles the maintenance is too much especially when you have fine gray hair even natural styles are a lot of wrk and I’m a licensed professional since 1980 specializing in natural hair for the last 30+ yrs! I’m older now need low maintenance nice long layered cut that will create volume. My hair always had a lot of body but never held curl unless it was short I mostly roller set my hair when I wore a relaxer back in the day or wrapped it and occasionally bumped it. I’m hoping I will get the same results now I’ve never felt so lost with my hair! But I have an awesome stylist who is into haircare so I do trust her advice. Since I’ve been wearing my hair naturally curly , twisted , interlocked at one point, Afro, and mainly two strand twisted I would mainly go to her about 3 times a yr for a good cut and deep conditioning treatment and maintain myself but this gray is something different! Anyway her hair is beautiful wish you were in my area to have as another stylist option I’ve alway had 2 a main one and an additional one that was on the same level as yourself. I’ve been with my girl for at least 15yrs!
I am do glad to come across your comments!! I am fully silver and natural foe the last 5 years. At the beginning on my transition from relaxed color treated hair to natural no coloring, my hair was still manageable and held twist outs. Now that I am fully silver, my hair is so wiry and difficult to find a moisture balance when I wear it without heat styling. I don't want to go back to relaxing, but I feel I'm doing more damage and manipulating my hair more to wear it in heatless styles.
you're absolutely right! My Mom had hair like that and I always used the lowest setting. Her fine white hair didn't require that kind of heat you'd use on coarse hair. It never turned yellow and the barrel of the iron had to be clean
Her hair turned out beautiful --- but -- I so loved it just after the wash/treatments/air drying -- all the beautiful natural curl and waves. Thank you for sharing!
Me too, but you know, she came to the Salon for a polished look, she didn't get a relaxer, so those natural waves are still there. Another great job ELITE.!!.
It looks pathetic to see old people with colored hair. It simply does not look natural. Especially the black and deep brown. I have never colored my hair. I think white or soft grey is a beautiful color. Why the craze to fight aging is beyond me. Accept and appreciate what you are with dignity.
I’m 56 with salt and pepper hair, that is relaxed. Your product has help tremendously. My regimen is too much to write, just know your product has help my hair to grow from shoulder length to bra-strap length. Thank you and your videos are helpful.❤
I'm 51 and when I got COVID a couple of years ago my hair started to shed like crazy. I just knew I was going to be bald in a few months time frame. So I researched if this was happening to someone else. I found a panel of black female doctors discussing it happened to them and was caused by inflammation due to COVID. I then researched what was good for battling inflammation in the body. I came to find out beet roots were good for inflammation and hormone balance (another thing that causes hair to shed and thin). I remembered a smoothie my husband made; so I went to the grocery store and purchased about 8 cans of beet root, several large granny apples, True lime powder, and ginger root powder. I blended it all together and added some water to it to thin it out a little. I drank this concoction like nobody's business and in 10 days my hair had completely stopped shedding.
I have salt and pepper color that is relaxed. When I complete the relaxer I add the purple shampoo to my neutralizing shampoo to get rid of the instant yellow. I deep condition and use your leave in conditioner, foam wrap and heat protectant to style my hair. I get the silkiest style and so soft to the touch. I get the nicest comment on my hair daily. I LOVE Elite haircare products and watching you work wonders for all hair types. Thank you.
To echo the comments of previous viewers, "your client's fine hair looks absolutely beautiful!!" Owing to your analysis of her hair's needs, your products and your treatment skills combined and produced an absolutely magnificent finished look!!
I am 58 and just starting to really see some grey hair coming in! I am so EXCITED! I am eating these videos up because I want my natural hair to be as beautiful when it’s grey as it is now! And her hair is Gorgeous!
I'm white but I have snowy white shiny hair that I inherited from my mom. I was so happy when I grew out all my color six years ago. I use Pantene Silver Expressions but I have fine yet curly hair, not as curly as hers before you straightened it (gorgeous job by the way!) though.
I love watching you do hair. So professional and really know your stuff about hair. Your videos are very educational. Thanks for your time in helping people with your advice and allowing them to watch what you do 😊.
You are the first stylist that has educated me on using a specific shampoo for grey and silver hair types. Thank you so much! I'm in the greying phase and was thinking about coloring my hair. After watching your videos, I will give my grey hair a chance. Happy to know your a gas tank away. Blessings to you.
Her hair turned out absolutely Gorgeous!! I too have Silver Hair, so I really admire my Silver Sisters. She’s so fortunate to have a Hair Stylist that can help her care for her hair. Beautiful work!
Her hair is gorgeous. I love it. I have streaks of gray throughout my hair. I leave it natural. I wash and condition it. Then I put a leave in conditioner and moisturizer. My hair is a bushy 🌳. It needs a lot of moisture.
Hi Crystal….been watching your videos for a few years now, just enjoy watching you care for your clients. This lady has beautiful long salt/pepper hair! Reminds me of how my grandma and her hair color was much like this lovely lady. There is just something about an older woman with long white hair. You did a great job with this lady! Thank you for sharing 😊
Wow her hair is so beautiful. My hair is not yet all silver but and long. Crystal, I don't know how to care for my hair yet. I mentioned in another of your videos, I have been going to a barber for over 20 years. So my hair is still very short. I am natural and I am low porosity. So my journey has begun. I purchased Voila. Not quite sure how to use it but I will watch more of your videos so I can continue to learn. I. Also purchased the shampoo for low porosity with the snail musin. And my hair is still too short to book an appointment. I am excited about this journey and more excited when I book my appointment. I'm coming from Cartersville Georgia. Blessings always to you and yours and thank you so much!! 🙏🏾 💞🤗
I agree with you, her hair is beautiful!! However, why didn't you turn the heat down on the dryer and the flat iron? I have gray hair as well and my stylist uses the same methods but thankfully my hair never turns yellow. I believe the temp was too high. By the way, I love the tip about using the "bun" to save your curls.
Hi im a hairstylist, been licensed for over 25years I have a few clients with silver hair, salt and pepper and total white hair From my experience to avoid sending your clients out the salon with yellow hair is using less oils, products and turn down heat, if your doing a silk press or curling Also i dont use purple shampoo , it turns the white purple especially if you let it sit on hair Try using yellow out conditioner, it works perfectly This works well for me Great job, your client hair is beautiful
KMB Graybrite Conditioner I normally get it from sales reps If you can't get that one Star Care has Yellow Be Gone Conditioner from beauty supply store
Bantu use to have a Yellow Out Conditioner that worked great. I don’t need it anymore since I am no longer getting relaxers or using curling irons or flat irons. My hair stylist also would only place the irons in the ovens about every 3 passes through the hair. She was amazing but has now retired. This was before everyone was using mainly flatirons. Also, just a touch of VO5 for gray hair would cover little traces of yellow, but more than a little will weigh the hair down. I got the first couple of strands of gray in high school; was salt and pepper in my 30’s; and in my 40’s was more salt than pepper. I am now 74 and after chemotherapy, I have a sprinkling of black strands. I am just grateful to the Lord that it is being restored. I do have some thinning due to the estrogen blocker that intake and was also told that I have CCC. Please excuse the long message and any errors. Tooo sleep to proofread! Love your work and your model’s hair is beautiful.
New regimen has started to get my hair back in action after a few years of just "making do". I have a myriad of issues to include scarring CCCA on crown with some baldness, thinning temples with scarring, salt/pepper, low porosity, and split ends. I've been natural for 15 years. On top of all of this, I take various medications and am finally entering the end of menopause at age 63. I've lost lots of hair in the past 6-7 years due to surgeries, and it's just not growing. My hair is short/fine, very thin on top, bald in some spots due to the scarring, but thick in the back, so hairpieces are used to cover the crown. I have to wear a wig on occasion. I've been using the purple shampoo and conditioner regularly for about 2 years now, with a deep condition every 8 weeks with no dryer. This past week, I have incorporated a low porosity shampoo/conditioner, a leave-in detangler, a split end serum to mend, and a deep conditioner with a plastic cap under my dryer. Daily lotion/moisturizer/curl enhancer was changed to a low porosity product. The plan is to wash once a week and deep condition every 2 weeks. It'll be months before I see any progress, but staying encouraged as much as possible!!
It’s beautiful, I love watching you do hair, you know what you’re doing and not afraid to take on anything…keep up your amazing work with your clients…
Oh by the way I love those two buns you put in her hair and how you connected them . Looked so beautiful in her gorgeous white hair. Good job❗️I will try that
I have natural grey hair, I rinse my hair with white vinegar that is my go to conditioner and my hair looks shined and healthy . Your are absolutely correct tools and the element will make your hair slightly yellow. I receive tons of compliments for my silverlicious hair and I’m very proud to have let it grow out 10 yrs ago. ❤ her amazing hair!
YOU are amazingly talented and certainly know a LOT about hair let alone PLATINUM/S&P/GREY HAIR!!! Skill/talent are inherent, knowledge is learned. You have it ALL!!!❤❤❤
I love it! I decided to stop coloring my hair a few years ago and have been washing my only 2x a week with purple shampoo 🧴 that I had Sunflower seed oil to and I let it sit while I finish showering 🧼 then I rinse but don’t use a conditioner because it weighs my fine hair down, also added daily gummy vitamins to my routine and my hair hasn’t been this healthy since high school.
That’s my mom😊😍it’s so beautiful
Even though the pin curl buns weren't necessarily the style itself, they look SO gorgeous on your mom. She has amazing hair 🤍
Your Mom has nice hair and good skin 😊
Your mother is stunning!😍
We have some great genes 🥰❤️
Awwwh, she is really beautiful with beautiful hair!! I would love to have hair like hers!!!
She has beautiful white hair!! Most women hair thins after a certain age but she still has a full head of hair.that's a blessing

Agreed. I’ve stopped bleaching my hair now and am proudly natural grey. I’m 65 this year and feel incredibly privileged to be growing older. 😊

Yeah I noticed my grays turned yellow after flat ironing my hair.
That’s exactly true the heat turned it yellow it was white before!!
I just see salt no pepper but it's absolutely beautiful❣️

Hi im a hairstylist, been licensed for over 25years
I have a few clients with silver hair, salt and pepper and total white hair
From my experience to avoid sending your clients out the salon with yellow hair is using less oils, products and turn down heat, if your doing a silk press or curling
Also i dont use purple shampoo , it turns the white purple especially if you let it sit on hair
Try using yellow out conditioner, it works perfectly
This works well for me

KMB Graybrite Conditioner

I decided to stop coloring my hair a few years ago and have been washing my only 2x a week with purple shampoo 🧴 that I had Sunflower seed oil to and I let it sit while I finish showering 🧼 then I rinse but don’t use a conditioner because it weighs my fine hair down, also added daily gummy vitamins to my routine and my hair hasn’t been this healthy since high school.
Just beautiful! The hair and your technique, Crystal.😊
Beautiful, I trim my hair at least twice a month. Keeps it healthy and free of raggedy ends.
You are the best beautician I have ever seen😊❤
