I’m a case manager for a medical practice in Southern California. I have many patients who suffer from mental illness as well as homelessness. I’m hoping to help some women in tough situations by finding them local sponsors for hair care. I service an underserved population and am trying to help people holistically. I wanted to understand more about black hair care so I can really help my patients achieve a better quality of life, starting with the basics of hygiene. When you feel better and look better you want to do better. Some of the foster placements I work with have zero access to culturally sensitive practices and suffer unnecessary hair damage, humiliation, and poor self image. Thank you for educating me so I can help my patients on a deeper level. I really appreciate how you explain textures and struggles. It really is helping me identify my patients struggles and giving me ideas on how I can help them achieve the basics of wellness. 🙏🏻 May God bless you and hold you up in his image. Best wishes to you.

That was really awesome I learned something today. I used to do Clients with coarse hair. I use to do roller sets, blow drying and etc. I love to work on course hair. Have a blessed day 🙏💯👍🏿✔️

I am a white woman and have coarse hair with grey in it and your tips are great! Your client's hair looks very attractive! You are so talented! I enjoy your channel! Thank you! 💕 Kim
My mother was good and straightening hair. I never stopped to asked her how she did it. But as a child it would as a couple weeks. I am 60 now. Mom is gone and so are her sisters.
I can attest to this style. I to have a blend of grey hair ( salt and pepper, black white). I live in East London (UK), I visited a well established salon which has a owner/hairdresser extrodiare. I was able to get a hair style closely matching this and I love it and have received many compliments. I must say Crystal has a genuine talent and is mesmerising. Keep up the good work. God Bless You 🙏🏿
Great point of sharing the direction of the style as you flatiron. The hair lays better when directed step by step and especially when you recognize the texture.
Whoa! I smiled when I heard you refer to wrapping your client’s hair. I’m a white, 73 y/o, curly haired women who first “wrapped” my hair in the 60#. I love watching your videos!
. .✨. ,this lady has a good thick head of hair and the natural silver highlights are already beautiful. . The stylist is so considerate with how she handles all of the tools, she’s very skilled with them . .Start to finish the results are stunning ✨
Very nice, I take my granny to get her hair done every time I go it boosts her self esteem and mood so much, even though she still finds something to fuss about, she loves to be pampered. ♥️ Beautiful results!!
Not only do you have great personality and you are a great teacher but your also a "hair scientist" so you really a have a great understanding of how to get the hair to do what the client wants!
Just now seeing this. I’m a beauty school dropout. But I love watching hair tutorials. Yours is the best I’ve seen. I love how you pull in the science of what you’re doing! I’m a fan. Going to subscribe.
The hair looks amazing, and the instructions are super clear. Your voice and tone are also awesome, I feel so much more relaxed just watching this video. Fantastic all around. Keep up the amazing work!
I sure do appreciate the education. I have always had about 3 different textures in my hair. Now that I’m in my mid 40’s, it’s even more “fun” to deal with the on-slaught of gray. I thought I was the only one with resistant hair on the crown of my head. I’ve been flat ironing my hair since about 2007. . . and the crown always takes the most passes 😩
You did a beautiful job on her hair. I know that black and gray can be a little difficult to manage (especially when I’m not that educated on hair), however I still love that color. The next thing I must say is it’s nothing like seeing how well your hair looks while taking care of your clients hair. I don’t see that too often. I appreciate someone taking care of my hair that has time to also take care of their own. I thank you for sharing this video too. I really enjoyed it.
Her hair came out gorgeous....you are a true hair artist....it's amazing what you do with black hair....it's truly a gift from God....thank you for sharing your talent!!!!
Great job!!! I'm not a stylist at all, but I had to watch. I've learned so much. Thank you. Tell your client she has beautiful hair and a beautiful style. ❤️
Just stumbled upon your channel and have binge watched 3 in a row already. Your skills are AWESOME ! You really know hair and your clients all look gorgeous when you are done. ❤
Oh! That turned out so beau de full! Her hair is perfect salt n pepper and I did not know they had two different textures but you showed it perfectly. Very talented hairdresser!
You are doing Gods work too I believe. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I’m 62 and I’m ashamed to say I’ve never had any experience with African American hair. You are also helping me. Thank you so much ♥️
I don’t know why this video even came up on my home page, I watched it anyway even though I’m not really interested in hairstyles. This was amazing! I used to have a friend who had very similar hair to this lady. She used to get so frustrated trying to style her hair. The more she brushed it, the thicker and longer it got, but it didn’t get longer in length by going straight downwards, as she brushed it, it would go outwards. 😂 The only way she could go out and not have to worry about her hair going crazy, no matter if there’s was too much humidity in the air, whether it rained, whether it was windy, cold, hot, warm, her hair would have a weird reaction every time, followed by us having many laughs about Sandra’s hair. But the only thing she could do to have a stress free hair day was to wet it and pull it up in a ponytail followed by a bun type thing followed by a long clip to make sure her hair didn’t escape, just for one day. 😅😂😅🎉
AMAZING! OF COURSE!!!! this is my hair!!! except I have a TON of breakage at my crown so the education you provided was right on time! HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 you share your birthday with my mom, which makes a lot of sense. you're both phenomenal women! God bless you!!! I hope you enjoy this birthday and many MANY MORE!!!!!
Thank you for the explanation on the texture of salt and pepper hair. I never knew that as I got older my texture would change. This is my hair.. Natural, COURSE and very short at the back. My hair needs some TLC. First time seeing this. Greetings from 🇨🇦. 🇨🇦
You did that. I've never once had a silk press. Unbelievable huh? But how you broke down what to use and how you explained the white/grey like hair made sense.
😂 I always wondered what made a "silk press" a "silk press"... This is EXACTLY how I straightened my natural hair in high school 22 years ago! Also YESS, my crown always messes with me, when I used 2 relax it, when I'd straighten it, & the last 9 yr as a natural curly/coily.
Girl you need an award for that work you did that's like Picasso you kick the fairies out of her head and brought guys like down upon her scalp bless your heart I got to come see you
Just found this site. In my opinion these hair dressers dont get paid enough. On their feet all day and for a person to bring in a picture of the hair style and wanting their hair cut like it. Now's that's talent. I always tip my hairdresser even tho I drive 2 hours shes worth it. Enjoying this site n subscribed to it. Love the info she is telling us.
Her hair is amazing. Great job as per usual. Henna and indigo makes my gray hair somewhat fall in line with the rest of hair. Not 100% but better. Better meaning I like it better. More smooth and shiny. FDA just approved Olumiant (baricitinib) oral tablets for treatment of alopecia. I didn’t read the warnings for this pill yet but I’m sure it’s a laundry list. I’ll also bet money it’s very very expensive and some of the higher ups just bought stock in Lily before it was announced.
I was waiting for you to silk press a person with saltnpepper hair, which I have. Beautifully done and your explanation of the salt n pepper hair and how it reacts.
I didn’t know how technical hairdressing could be in terms of products and tools, etc. Crystal is an artist. Would you say you learned your techniques in beauty school or did you develop all that knowledge through experience. I am very impressed. The results of your work on this lady’s hair are phenomenal.
You are so right about the crown because my mom passed away from an aneurysm and it was exactly in that spot. Your channel is such an inspiration to me. Very therapeutic for me too.
I have mostly silver hair (approx. 95%), and I don't use heat at all due to the grey hair, even avoid excess sun. I try to keep my hair covered when out in the sun.
That’s great that you do your best to protect your hair. You can use a purple shampoo that helps with yellowing of grey hair and keeps it vibrant. Learned about Fanola No Yellow Shampoo through one of Crystal’s videos. I also learned that to put some of her heat protectant on my hair when out on sunny days. Every little bit helps.

I love it. Bc most don’t want to share as if something is taken away from them.
Beautiful job..lovely really 😊
Great job very well done
How far out are you booking?
The way her hair has greyed is GORGEOUS. All the different shades down to the black at the bottom are stunning!
Natural highlights hehe. It's very nice
That cut and the shades of silver are just so classy -- absolutely beautiful.
That salt and pepper looks so amazing. The different patterns with the stroke of a comb.
Not only is her hair gorgeous but this was the most calm I've felt in weeks. Thank you for posting, that was a joy to watch. ❤
I enjoy watching a hairdresser that’s really interested in her clients , it makes such a difference, I watch you often
Thank you for explaining the attitude of my Grey hair , I thought I was losing my mind because my hair wouldn’t stay straight, I’m 31 and 50% grey
Why can’t I stop watching these videos?!!! White girl here-I am amazed at the skill involved in these techniques and the beautiful styles you create!

White girl too and I just love these videos…it is like watching an artist paint with hair…FANTASTIC!!

Why can't I get my hair so straight and glossy.
You don't seem to use a lot of product.
Same here ❤
SAME!!!! Her knowledge is unmatched!!! I'm obsessed with her as a person in general, she's real & a joy!!
It’s so great to you work on different textures, ages, needs, of clients.
You make your clients more beautiful than they already are! Your hair looks great, too!
Her hair is absolutely stunning! And, she’s such a pretty woman. And, your skills at hairdressing are fabulous!!
You did an EXCELLENT JOB on her hair! It’s Beautiful
Her beautiful gray hair speaks of a life “well-lived”.
Lol
I never get tired of seeing how the hair lays after the cut.
I am learning so much watch you. I just wish I had a head full of hair like I did before cancer. Praying for my hair to come back soon. Thank you.❤️

Her hair looks really nice. I am salt and pepper, more salt than pepper, and I am learning a lot from your channel. Great job!
It is so beautiful. Summer time I can't do a silk press. The heat here in Auburn, AL I sweat in my head.
My mother was good and straightening hair. I never stopped to asked her how she did it. But as a child it would as a couple weeks. I am 60 now. Mom is gone and so are her sisters.
Yep, watching a replay of this one - her hair is gorgeous and gives many of us some hope too!

Wow what an improvement . The shiny silver is beautiful . Great job !👏🏻😌
Thank you so much for your video. Gorgeous hair style, not everyone can work that hair natural like you. Highly professional.
Love your description of salt hair! I have fairly straight hair and my grays just refuse to lay down.
