      This is a shady sponsorship my friend:
      With the exception of Product Key Cards (PKC’s) distributed with COA’s, Microsoft does not distribute products keys as standalone products.
      - If you see a listing on an auction site, online classified ad, or other online page advertising product keys for sale, it’s a good indication that the keys are likely stolen or counterfeit.
      - If you were to purchase and use a stolen or counterfeit product key to activate Windows installed on your PC, the key may not work for activation, may already be in use on another PC, or it might be blocked from use later by Microsoft when the key is reported stolen.

    There's no perfect TV but I think it's fair to say Bravia 9 is truly remarkable progress for MiniLED. Sony sprinkled magic dust on the backlight masterdrive (increase in zones and 22 bit precision) and it is just wonderful!

      All this to do a 50% brighter picture over OLED. And still small highlights unfortunately dimmer. 🤷‍♂️ much easier with self emissive pixels. Can’t believe they don’t offer 97”. They offer poor x90L but not their flagship.

      Sony rests on their laurels as a company but when they decide to innovate they definitely come out swinging, I don't think anyone expected a TV that looks almost as good as a $30k mastering monitor and trades blows with OLED in dark room performance.

    • @whitecrowuk575

      @@Mike-jm5wt they can do indeed but I’m afraid they will lose the game. TCL is smashing in mini led space and with bigger better models available will definitely overtake that space. Whereas Samsung and LG already get close in processing to Sony, close enough that usually big price disparity doesn’t justify the difference. There will be only die hard Sony fans. I can see Sony selling its business down the line.

      I have it already, it's great except be prepared for blooming. There absolutely is blooming and it's worse than the TV I just replaced, my 2018 Samsung Q8FN with only 40 dimming zones. Samsung at the time was prioritizing blooming control over everything so highlights were not spectacular however there was absolutely no blooming on this q8fn. Black level is insanely good and I prefer this kind of an algorithm. The Bravia 9 prioritizes blindingly bright highlights over blooming control and it really shows, I see quite a bit of blooming which is disappointing. That said it's not terrible.

      In terms of colours, Sony's TV's usually knocks it out of the park. I bought a ZF9 master series TV back in 2019 and now I can only buy Sony TV's because no other TV is capable of matching the colours of a Sony TV (and they look the most true to life to me). I'm not a Sony fanboy, I don't even have a PS5. I had their first wireless earbuds with noise cancelling, but did not opt to get a new Sony one because they tend to have battery issues (I don't know what it is with Sony and trash batteries. All of their earbuds have battery durability issues and their wireless controllers also all have battery durability issues).

      Read up on quantum dots but the short version is they convert led light into pure white which then gets filtered by the lcd layer to create all the colors, but because the white is so pure the resulting colors are far more vibrant compared to non QD light sources.

  • @rolandrohde
    @rolandrohde 3 месяца назад +3

    While I am quite happy to see manufacturers improving their LCD and OLED TVs year over year, I think we have long arrived at the point, where the quality of the content is holding things back for more than the quality of the Display. Pretty much the same thing as what we can see in terms of Audio. We have all these nice standards and formats, HDR, 4K60 or 4K120 with high clarity, brightness, contrast and everything, but frequently get HDR capped at less than 500nits or even SDR in an HDR container. Hollywood clings to 24p, thus destroying most of the advantages of 4K or even 1080p as soon as movement is involved or adds artificial "digital grain" etc.
    On the audio side, we are seeing Atmos mixes without actual object based audio, just static 7.1.2 or at most 7.1.4 and very little Surround Sound, let alone Heigt effects. In terms of Music, we get all kinds of high-resolution containers with the audio often having the potential of exceeding what humans can hear by several orders of magnitude but the actual recording being dynamically compressed, badly recorded, mushy and not even using the available bandwidth of something like a good old Audio CD.
    So yes, modern TVs, AVRs and Speakers are great, but the Content industry is way behind most of the time. Sorry for ranting...🧘‍♀️

    • @MichelleAlexandria-EM
      @MichelleAlexandria-EM 3 месяца назад +1

      I’ve been saying this for years. Buying $5,000 tvs is stupid when the content itself will almost never justify that. There’s a reason almost all modern tvs look great when you watch Demo footage and footage from HDR Demo channels on RUclips. Then you watch Netflix and other content a d it never matches that. Then you have a lot of directors you think the world looks dark and drab and no tv is going to make that content look better. Look at how Some scenes in Game of Thrones are shot, where it’s so dark you can’t see anything. A $5,000 fake “4,000 Nit” tv isn’t going to do much better than a $800 1,000 Nit TV.

      Power usage is FAR lower on LCD TVs with Mini-LED back-lights than with similar size OLEDs! For example, about any model 65" LCD TV with Mini-LED back-lighting sold today, uses UNDER half the power at the same brightness level that any 65" OLED uses. OLEDs have NEVER been efficient in utilizing electrical power to produce a given level of brightness. A 2019 model Sony 77" A9G OLED we use in our basement theater room, has a maximum power use rating that's OVER 2 TIMES the maximum rated power usage of the 2014 Sharp 80" LCD TV (without Mini-LEDs) that I gave to a friend in Sept 2022, as we replaced the Sharp with Samsung's 85" QN90B LCD with Mini-LED back-lights.

  • @hb7067

    I disagree when someone says that a particular TV is the "best" or the "king of TVs." There isn't a single best TV for everyone; it's all about your personal viewing environment and experience preferences. For example, when someone claims that the Sony Bravia 9 is the best TV of the year, that's based on their own experience. The Bravia 9 is a mini LED TV known for its high brightness, which is great for rooms with a lot of natural light. But if you're watching in a dark room, you don't need a high brightness TV. In such cases, a mini LED TV might not be the best choice.
    In a dark room, an OLED TV is often a better option. OLED TVs provide perfect black levels and infinite contrast, which makes the viewing experience much more immersive in low-light environments. The self-emissive pixels in OLEDs can turn off completely, resulting in true blacks and stunning picture quality that is unmatched in dark settings. So, when someone asks, "What is the best TV?" the answer really depends on your specific viewing conditions and preferences. There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

    When do we reach TV panacea? For example, a paperclip can’t be improved upon anymore. When will displays hit this point? I would argue we are there already. I own mostly OLED now, and there was an enormous difference when I went from a Sony LCD in 2017 to a LG B7 55” OLED tv. The B7 was brighter and better in every way, and NO BLOOMING! Bought a C9 for family room, then a C2 83” for our theater area, and just recently picked up a Sony A95L 55” for our kitchen area. I don’t understand the hype over QD-OLED, I am sure it’s does better on the tests and brightness and color, but I don’t see it. My family members don’t see it, no one notices it’s even a new tv. Not one person commented on the picture quality. I am not trying to bash QD-OLED. I love all OLED. But the differences are so small now it’s not important that the Picture Quality is technically better, if it only provides a very small level of performance difference when actually watching real content. Back to my question, what does a perfect display need to be and when will we get there?

      @chibbyylol Месяц назад +2

      @@michael-4k4000 The 'need' for brightness scales with the growing capabilities of mastering displays and cameras capturing movie footage as well as directors / producers intent. Movies eventually will get more advanced and be capable of capturing 1000 (some even 4000+ nits of brightness, to then the mastering monitors used to edit these footages grow to reach 5000 nits then eventually the displays playing the movies will need that too.
      Brightness is a thing here it's really nice to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.
      Thing about TVs is what else is there to improve on in terms of metrics? The A95L already acn display 90+% of rec2020 color space so the wall there is 100% color reproduction....well once a TV can make all the colors...the only thing to improve upon is achieving more and more brightness. There isn't really a 'wall' for brightness, well unless you count the maximum nits say a fluorescent bulb at 10,000 or 1,600,000,000 nits of direct sunlight lol. That could be the cap to it I suppose

    • @michael-4k4000
      @michael-4k4000 Месяц назад +1

      @chibbyylol Good point on, it's better to have more brightness than not enough. I had to get rid of my favorite TV Sony Bravia XBR-65X900A a few years ago because it was not bright enough. Was a gorgeous tv, even when turned off. It's going to take many, many years for the 4k nit mastering to be mainstream. Then we would have to buy all new content, and I'm done buying these movies over and over. Blu-ray is excellent quality, and really all one needs. If u remember, the studios never wanted to release 1080p content, they were afraid it would be the end of movie theaters as we know it. Movie theaters don't even offer better quality picture anymore, u just get a super large screen. 1,600,000,000 nits would require a star to generate the screen. You are right. Once the TVs hit 100% of the color reproduction, then brightness is next. So back to my question, what would be a perfect TV? Assuming the TV was able to produce 100% of the colors, is 4,000 nits the end game panacea we all are seeking. Personally I think the iPad tandem oled displays will be the way forward. Those screens are so good, and look excellent even when the brightness is turned down very low.

    Saying also that you can only see it in direct comparison because they are all so good is an important piece of information since at home if you are not in a store no one can compare side by side m. And then it’s up to your own preferences and what you feel your tv is lacking

    These are the 3 TVs I was between for a new living room tv. I ultimately chose the LG G4 (ordered two nights ago). The reason I chose the G4 over the Bravia 9 was due to better viewing angles (living room with seating from all angles), deeper blacks and better contrast, and faster response time (I watch a lot of sports). I chose the G4 over the S95D because of Dolby vision support, better brightness, and the 5 year warranty covering burn in.

    • @EverydayElectronics23

      you should have got the sony then for sports. oleds have good response times for games but arent too good for sports cause of abl and stuttering issues. sonys processing alone is a great reason to go with cause of sports

      Better brightness on white light but the S95D has brighter colors becuase its a more advance panel I dont think you understand this.

    • @EverydayElectronics23
      @EverydayElectronics23 3 месяца назад +1

      @@vcam-g9h I do understand this and even though the s95d has slightly better color gamut the B9 can display its color volume at a higher brightness for a more impactful picture. I know qdoled is the newer technology but it’s exciting watching lcd TVs with quantum dot layers trying to match oled.

      @@EverydayElectronics23 how would you rate the A95L vs the G4 for sports? Sports is my biggest concern. The B9 is out for me for the same reason Dr No mentioned about viewing angles, deeper blacks, and better contrast, so I'm left with deciding between the A95L and G4(77")

      It's to help owners understand how different settings stray from "accurate" because most people don't know what these esoteric labels actually do to image quality!

    I need to delay audio for a few milliseconds to match the TV box sound with the image on my new 75" B9. I can find the A/V Sync setting but it allows only for three options: Auto / On / Off... but none of them allows me to set a time delay like 20ms or 30ms... Is this not an option with the B9?

    Lg has good contrast in a dim lit room. Does that apply to mla as well? Just like qd oled tinted panel when light hits the panel.
    What about seeing numbers measuring Contrast off the panels in dimly lit room aswell? And also measuring contrast of colorful scenes without any black and how miniled measures and how it looks to human eyes.
    Oleds don't have high nits at full screen compared to leds. And I want to know if that full screen makes a difference in contrast and 3d pop.
    It should since glassless 3d tv are super bright to make the image pop and 3d. So miniled should be a better compromise between 3d tv and oleds.
    So in that case i should be buying miniled oreven just led, since most content I watch don't even have perfect blacks or much shadow detail. And with led I would be getting more contrast with brightness. And blooming doesn't even bother me compared to a dim and flat picture.

    Love my bravia 9. But the thing I cant stand about any motion editting is the terrible DSE around images at times. I wouldnt even mind the soap opera effect if it didnt alter the image with DSE so badly. I upgraded from an 8 year old Samsung, and it hasn't improved much in 8 years.

      Creator's intent should be the baseline, at least as close as possible then have other modes and settings for the user to customize from there
      Likewise with audio, trying to get the most neutral frequency response than EQing wherever one wants
