- The start of my new small project. "Fix the Fox!"
I run through doing a basic service on this great little run around, and next week we will get on to fixing the remaining little niggles.
I'm proud to say that I was part of the construction team for this car in Brazil, I love it
Thast awesome, they are great little cars, nice and simple good to work on, and reliable !
I have a VW Fox 2011, I have had it for 5 years and I love it. So reliable and great to drive.
@@SloopyDogthey're as tough as old boots these cars. The ones I've seen on the roads have appeared in immaculate condition
@@SloopyDogbit of a random one does yours have remote central locking

Great informative video, I bought a VW Fox back in 2010. I still have it and I hope to have it for a few more years yet. Truly underrated cars, love ours.
Great second hand buy now as well!
@@Leee4444 that’s true, when I bought mine I went to look at a year old Fox that was at the main VW dealer. I ended up buying a brand new one. The one I still have today. 12 year old, original exhausts, bulbs and only replaced the battery last year because it developed a fault in the boot lock. Apparently this was common and happened mainly while they were under warranty. Took 11 years to develop on mine. Awesome cars and often overlooked sadly 👍
Nice Garage!
I’m looking forward to the Penny-Farthing!
Spot on....handy pit ! That filter was tight....nice little car.
Thanks 👍
Loving the vids mate. Keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Good stuff show us more.
How did a black cat get in the garage?
It's 1.2 6V, check your camshaft timing chain if You wish to ride a little bit longer ;), it's a common failure on those engines. Chain should be for 300k + km but they failed with that. Check also compresion, if it's 4-5 bar that means valves are messed up and they need replace :). Cheers m8!
i have to correct you at 1:35 left hand drive has the same weird glove box shape on mine x) i hate it but the "compartment" under the driver seat saves my butt for most of the things i need in my car :D
Thanks for the info ! I normally find that the lhd versions of cars have the full glove box, funny how this one doesn't.
Thank you very good video. Have a 2011 plate 1.2 urban fox. One of the coils is to be replaced. Would be interested in seeing more on your progress on the fox and your views on how it compares with predecessor. cheers.
Thanks Kate!, Yes I have a bunch of video ready to edit, but you know how it is, 101 thing to do all the time lol
Nice video, thanks a lot!!
Thanks! Youre welcome.
We’re is the power steering top up or is it electric
How did you fox the odemetor in the end
I think I say in the description, but sent it off to a company and cost be £80, if I could sourse a new LCD screen then this fix would have worked.
My 2007 fox the engine light has come one now its flashing and no power :(
Sorry to hear that Mary, i hope you can get it sorted, it could be a number of things, a good gargae will be able to help.
How many Liters does the VW FOX need ?
If the filter is removed and drained it is 4.2 litres, so a 5 litre bottle will be perfect.
@@Leee4444 Haynes manual says 2.4 litres of oil.. My Daughter has a 10 plate fox 1.2, same engine.. 2.5 L of oil with a new filter.. perfect.
Yeah can confirm it's about 2.5L, replaced oil on my 1.2 many times by now. Buying a 5L bottle is always a good idea though.
Oh dom meter😊
How's the Fox doing?
Fox has now gone to a new home for a first time driver. Hope its doing well!
