I had a '63 impala S.S. 327 4 barrel, 4 speed, posi, 12" clutch, with a S.W. tach mounted on the steering column. Metallic brown with tan interior. My fave of all time!
I had one just like yours except mine was a convertible,black inside and out.
Mine was black on black, power glide, 283 4 bbl, fuelie cam w/solid lifters. Wasn’t real fast but girls loved it! And I loved that.😎
I think this is my favorite Impala of all. It just looks so low and sleek compared to other cars of the day.
95% of all today cars are nothing more than heaps of plastic junk.
Purchased a brand new one in 1963. Dark Blue SS. Had 283 and powerglide. Nice car. Thanks for the memory.

My vote is this was the best year. I suppose if you went farther back in time and grabbed cars with wings...but this modern 1960's look was welcoming in the space age.
The ‘63 is definitely the most retro-futuristic looking, and my favorite over the ‘64

I had a 61 Impala, and later a 65 impala, but I deeply lusted for this model.
After 60 years that was pretty good, no flames/ backfiring too much trouble to get her going, doesn't sound half bad for as long as it sat. I'd still douche the seats in the thing due to all the embedded farts over the years
I've been able to upgrade from a 63 impala to a 63 SS impala. I didn't thing there was a big difference until I owned one. I was just happy to own an impala. Now I can't go back. Obviously the next step up is the convertible. Congratulations on your build.

I once owned this model Impala, the only difference is my SS had a Muncie m21 4 speed. Great car, I miss it!
I've got a 63 SS a 65 Convertable and a 95 SS. I have 17 inch rims on my 63 now but after seeing this I may get bigger rims. My 65 is a classic lowrider with the 13 inch triple reversed player wire wheels. This is a beautiful car. I'm gonna go wipe mine down a bit after this is over.
Was wondering what the perfect wheel size for a dropped impala would be. I have a 70 and im trying to see what size to grt but ut looks like 20s in the front and 22s in the back is the best option.
My Dad had this car ,bought it off the lot under 100 miles , his BELOVED ,my older sister stole it, wrecked it ,left it at the scene with the family dog in it and ran away from home FOREVER .. ...LOL

Beautiful Car. My Favorite of the 60's Impalas. Two things. 1. Great Rims but not for this Car. I'm a purist. I like the Factory look. 2. I prefer gauges instead of lights on the Dash. Just my own personal taste. I do like the whisper quiet exhaust and the new radio.
Stock wheels for me too....The big billet look is hideous,and been done to death. Beautiful,otherwise...

I watched the episode of Iron Resurrection where they rebuilt this car. It belonged to a wealthy car collect that said this was his favorite from his collection. $ speed, 409 SS. They put it on a new modern chassis and resto moded it. I cannot believe that a Martin Bros build has wavy panels and other paint imperfections. In fact, I'm rewatching this build right now. I'm still in the first 10 minutes, but the plan was to refresh and add some ponies to this motor. What the Hell happened to this flawless resto mod?
Ok, just finished watching this build. The car left the shop with the original 409, which the vintage engine builder next to Martin's shop, found the motor will little wear and perfect crank and all. The rims were MUCH better, with deep offsets and multiple straight spokes, very modern and cool. Apparently, the guy that had the car didn't love it as What a shame.much as he claimed. He sold it to someone more money that brains.
Sorry to be that guy, but this isn't the car from iron resurrection.
Best of all times absolutely, when I was a small child there was one of it in our block and used to put my nose on its side Windows and tried to see what's inside

SS designation null and void when those wheels were installed . But this oversite can be remediated. I think!

Beautiful car I don’t know why people are hating on the wheels. I have same 5 Spoke wheels on my 62 impala 20s in the rear and 18s up front car looks awesome. Old farts do walk around the car looking at them then look at the 15inch 5 spoke cragar wheels they have it’s funny.

It doesn’t make sense at all to me either but I’ll tell ya they only hurt themselves cause when they won’t post a price then I’m just gonna move on to the next guy or dealer that does. I’m not gonna bounce all over the place trying to find a price on it, you either want to sell it or you don’t and if your hiding the price, then what else are you hiding that’s probly worse!

Windshield wipers need adjusting reverse tail lights need to be hooked up fixed was waiting on him to take off rear it up failed to do sowith those tires so thin I don't think he wants to take the chance and burn the rubber off think the car is built for looks not a durability I'm just a crazy ass car fan

Can't 'cruise' with those rubber band tires... every pothole will bend a $1,000 rim up... it'll ride rough and you'll be going 15 MPH trying to protect the rims...
The car may look good, but the motor is missing or the carburetor is bad
