  • Hi there. And welcome to our 1:72 scale series of diecast reviews. These will be a little different to our regular larger scale military vehicle reviews with a slightly shorter and altered format than normal. Thanks again for dropping past and if you enjoyed the video why not throw us a like and even feel free to subscribe ‪@heavymetaldiecast‬ to keep up to date with all our releases of all sorts of diecast cars, aircraft and military vehicles!
Today's example is from DeAgostini. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. A great rendition of the behemoth German World War 2 heavy tank the Tiger II, from heavy tank battalion 501 in Ardennes during 1944.
Thanks again for taking the time to check out the video.
    Cheers

That is really superb and that camouflage really pops! Don't mention fire extinguishers to me!!! As far as I know the German ones were camouflaged with the vehicle and not red. For the British tanks- possibly red but more likely Olive Drab or the British SCC15 camouflage paint. Not fully clear and I spent a whole day researching this for a model build! things you don't expect to have to google-"what colour were WW2 fire extinguishers on Sherman tanks?" Another was "what colour was WW2 diesel fuel?" I think I am going mad!

Yeah the German camo schemes are always really interesting!! Yeah it baffles me why this company always paints them red, they stand out like "dogs balls" haha. I had no doubt in reality in the field they would be the same colour as the vehicle. It would be like a sniper wearing a hi vis vest!! Haha the lengths people go to for that authentic look. Wait until you look up what colour 1940's era cigarette smoke was then you know youve gone mad!! 😂😂

@@heavymetaldiecast Steve1989 has a channel where he opens and samples old ration packs and he has smoked 1940s ciggies- so if we want to know we now do. His channel is fantastic and we appreciate the risks he takes with his digestive system to educate us all!

@@heavymetaldiecast Wouldn't get that from the US Army D Bars- he'd get something else! They didn't call em Hitler's revenge for nothing! I saw once a photo of a King Tiger with a large ladder strapped to the side. Looked like the most lethal and fearsome window cleaner ever!

@@heavymetaldiecast I didn’t dare ask about a Sturmtiger as I thought that might have been pushing my luck!!
Some day I want to get some of these models myself. A nice glass cabinet too. You have a fair idea of what I’ll be filling it with! 😅

@@shinra2755 haha, always feel free to ask anything mate. Yes cabinets are a battle for me, they are around $1000AUD for the ones I want which are nice big glass ones. But then I think I could buy a dozen new diecast models instead, haha. I have 3 glass cabinets and they are full of my diecast cars, haha and i have a lot more military diecast to display!! But hopefully I can start getting some and then can do some collection videos that people have been asking for. As always thanks for watching!!! Hopefully you'll get your cabinets soon and have the fun of filling it up,haha ....and being broke, haha
