I suppose it is to an extent you don't want to go too deep and cut off more than is necessary, you can see little imperfections and cut them out. Alot less risk
Nah, surely the main reason is potentially making the cow more lame than b4 it entered the crush, no? Or not spotting a fairly obvious problem. I'd be more apprehensive about that tbh, all the cowshit flying around wouldn't be a problem - you could even take a bucket home for bedroom rollplay, haha :0)
Just goes to show how sharp-eyed the dairyman is. Those are lucky cows to have such a caring, well, carer they have! Hopefully she'll be better in no time ❤
Very "unlucky. Se's forced to have a baby yearly. The baby is taken from her and killed. She cries for three days. After four years as a milk factory, she is butchered. What's the lucky part?
The cow manager is amazing to catch out that problem so early, so it was easier for you to repair!! Wish the world outside of rural areas understood just how much those who own and work with these animals care about them and their health!!
This video is a great example of a consumat professional paying attention, then handing an issue over to a second professional to have an issue resolved. Also shows that farmers DO care about the health and welfare of their land and stock. Bouquets to the dairyman and the trimmers for exemplary service to their four hoofed family. ❤
That really is a testament to how well Allan the dairyman knows his cows and looks after them, especially for both Kevin AND Graeme to think she's not walking too bad as well, something wasn't quite right and between them all they figured it out and got it sorted before it turned into anything worse! Great job everyone!
I had actually sliced open my finger with a rotating air tool and iodine is what kept it from getting infected and me from losing my finger. And it's all thanks to you hoofgp.
“Keep trimming until the darkness and the cracks and the hard edges disappear…” yep, I need someone to do this to my life, please. ETA: I have been working on myself for decades, and I agree this needs to be on a shirt ASAP! I just wish it were this easy sometimes, is all.
Bloody hell I think I'm first here. Saw this literally 5 seconds after it was uploaded. WHOO! Love what you do, Graeme, I'm a big fan. I love how you genuinely care about the cows you treat.
The humbleness of Graeme is humbling. He's an artist and a healer. To know Kevin and Craigie Boy is to love them. All of these guys are the best humans. ❤❤❤😊
Yes, indeed. Wonderful, caring, very, very knowledgeable men. I particularly love the fact that not one of them scold any cow. When the cow signals the discomfort Graeme discovers, There is no roughness about these guys at all. Graeme stops immediately and then uses his usual, reassuring tone with his soothing voice, “you’re okay, you’re okay.” He begins his work again, sprays his iodine and/or a block - whatever else is needed to make that cow comfortable. I like the fact there is before footage of how the cow is walking before Graeme does his work and the after walk when his work is done. There are remarkable differences!! I just love these fine men and what work they do!! So impressive!!! I love, love it all!!! ❤️💎😊
Sad to see her back in. But it was the right call. Her condition looks promising! I hope that her hind legs don't splay at all. It would be good to see her completely healed. She's had enough problems already.
Aww, so sad to see her relapse. But at the same time, thankful she's at a farm where the owner not only cares but actually takes notice. We'll done on his part 🙏 and a speedy recovery to our unfortunate lady ❤
Graeme, I don’t have anything to do with cows or farms, but I am always pleased to see how you and your crew take care of the bovine ladies and gentlemen.
I will say this speaks to how attentive and caring the farmers are for their cows. That he saw a bit of lameness and wanted her trimmed even if she looked like she was doing good.
I don’t have cows, and have never had cows. But there is something so heartwarming about watching you fix these cows hooves. They are lucky to have you! ❤
I've been slightly obsessed with your videos for 2 years! I've always loved cows and wanted to work with them but I had no idea how.. it's thanks to you I had the courage to reach out to a local hoof trimmer and now I'm going for my first day next week! thank you for inspiring me Graeme
The hoof horn growing underneath was really encouraging! She's looking so much better than the first video, and you've done a great job helping her heal.
Hey, it did relapse a bit but a sole separation is not the worst that it could be. No infection, no corium showing, it's not too bad. Now that she has a block and a good trim, she's well and truly back on the road to recovery. Lady's looking good!
Wow. So kind as you speak of animals or people. Oh how refreshing in this day and age. Please don’t allow yourself to get pulled away from exactly the focus you have. Bless you and your wife.
@@animepiglover , oh! It's my pleasure! You might check... this might be the third video in this cow? I'm remembering... The first video he worked on her feet, he left her chains on... Great work! I thought you were never going to get to the end of that black line, and it wa good to see the end result. She may not be walking perfectly, but she is well on her way after having some really difficult issues. Thank you for being a great team (including the ones on holiday, since it's all one herd). It broke my heart to hear she was back in your crush. She does look so much better since the first time you started treating her. I honestly didn't think she was going to make it due to the weight loss. I'm so thankful you are able to treat her once again. She's on her way to recovery thanks to you! Thank you for everything you do for these amazing creatures who serve all of us! ❤❤❤
So satisfying to watch, surgical cures (when they work) are the best! Nice to imagine the relief the cows feel once treated by this wonderful man. The vet's kindness and concern is very much in evident as he works on these difficult to treat areas. The cows must love to see you, as you bring them comfort and relief from this foot issues.
i've been watching your videos by the dozen recently, and everyone always mentions in the comments how you clearly care a lot about these animals - and it's evident in all your videos, but oh man, this one. one can hear the genuine sadness in your voice when you realize her hoof isn't healed! so much heart.
You tell us time and again that hoof issues are often due to accidents, and they are no reflection of their overall care. Remember that when one relapses or develops additional problems. We all know that you do the absolute best you can for these cows.

the one and only reason i will never be a cow hoof trimmer, is not weather. not injury. not smells per say. its the cows literally shitting on me.
