The "Fat guy in a little coat..." bit came from the days when they shared an office at SNL. Chris Farley would always prank David Spade or try to make him laugh and he put his coat on one day and started singing. Makes me happy that it was something from their real life together. RIP Chris Farley.
When they greenlit this movie the script was like 50ish pages long. A standard comedy script for the time was 90-100 pages. The director massively re-wrote and created this story by just watching Farley and Spade interact and listening to them tell stories about themselves lol
It’s hilarious! My favorite quote in the movie! 😂😅
David Spade and Chris Farley also did the movie Black Sheep - that movie is HILARIOUS as well.
Some people call that movie.tommy boy 2
Never did care for black sheep... but Tommy boy Is an all time classic
Even though I wasn't really alive in the years that Chris Farley was around, he was one of my favorite comedians as a kid. This is definitely one of my favorite movies of his. :) This and Beverly Hills Ninja! He also has some hilarious skits on SNL! RIP Chris Farley
Don't forget Black Sheep!
Can't remember which one but some radio morning show opened up with Tommy yelling "please go away and let me sleep FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!"
I still use "AW! Son of a....I'm okay."
WMMR Philly, listen to them every morning on the way to work and they still use it every morning around 6
And some say this movie doesn’t hold up! Complete bs movie is still as funny as it ever was
Totally agree 💯. Well said
Better than the garbage coming out nowadays that they call comedy.
Exactly...now Beverly Hills Ninja is a different story.
People just bitch about true classics Farley was one in a millions not like the pansies who put out this new brand of "comedy"
I actually don’t disagree with those people. This movie was pretty funny for it’s time but I’m really burnt out on it, I liked Black Sheep better personally
Not only is this movie beyond hilarious, but it has a few dramatic moments that Chris Farley really nails... he seemed to have some legit acting chops... its a shame we never got to see him really develop them.
Love this movie! Chris Farley and David Spade at their prime
Well David Spade Farley stayed in his prime
Chris Farley and David Spade were such a great comedic duo back in the late 90s. Tommy Boy is one of my all time favorite comedy movies!
Sad he was dead:(
“It doesn’t hurt here, or here, just here.”
“Nope, I don’t see anything.”
“Jesus!!! What happened to your face?”
“Dammit Richard!!”😂😂😂😂
I have used this line so many times over the years when I’ve got a bruise 😂 not here, or here, just right here 😂😂
I wore out a VHS tape of this movie (and prolly spent a couple hundred habitually renting it from blockbuster before i had my own copy). I still miss the fuck out of Farley. RIP Chris. Add Black Sheep to the list, another one of his hits (Beverly Hills Ninja also)
I actually liked Black Sheep better than Tommy Boy to be honest
wonder if they seen SNL Chippendales or Lunch Lady yet?
Other Chris Farley movies you need to watch, & believe me normally they wouldn't be good at all but Farley made those movies watchable & funny as hell - Black Sheep, Beverly Hills Ninja & Almost Heroes. Not only his scream, but Farley's slapstick & energy made him so funny & unique! God I miss him! RIP Chris Farley.
This makes me glad I was born in the 90s. Great reaction guys.
Chris Farley never misses. there will never be another like him ever again and we were so lucky to have him for the time that we did. RIP ❤
This will always be my favorite Chris Farley movie. RIP Chris!😢 u should see these actors in Coneheads as well. Also, when u said it's hard to be in sales if your not having fun. That's always been an issue with me. I'm a crafter/streamer on twitch and it's always an issue with me being in the spotlight. Hard to express high energy but I still try.
This was great! Laughed so much. 😂😂😂 I've always loved this movie! You need to add Black Sheep to the watch list!
Omg Black Sheep. YES
Decades later I still quote lines from... this is an absolute favorite.
This has been one of my fave comedies for so long. For years I'd walk around saying "i'll just take a sugar packet or two" and so many other lines from this movie. lol Love Chris's work so much. Hilarious.
Chris Farley is a sorely missed gem in the comedy world. Another one of his movies that is really great is Beverly Hills Ninja.
Grew up watching this movie! RIP Chris Farley.
Same here
David Spade isn't bald. They had him stuff his own hair under a bald cap for the gag. They don't show it for long because it's kinda obvious his head is a lot bigger with the hair under the cap.
If this was y’all’s introduction to Chris Farley, y’all miss so much
I highly recommend y’all watch his SNL bits
And I highly recommend watching Adam Sandler’s tribute song to Chris Farley
Farley was a master of physical comedy
If you didn't already know, David Spade does the voice of Cuzco from The Emperor's New Groove. It has his personality all over it. Great movie!
Squeaky, squeaks, squeaker squeaking.
I recently watched one of your older videos, and it's hilarious seeing how quiet Curtis was during the intro in the old videos compared to now.
Happy to see you doing this movie, I love it. And honestly, call me soft all you want, but I find it pretty emotional.
Also, all hail to the movie that makes you say "Yes, fucking Brian Dennehey!"
I can't lie, we both had no experience being on camera and were a little uncomfortable at the start; but now we have no issues being our dumb selves lol.

Could you please add the movie “Paul” to your list of potential reactions?
It’s a sci-fi comedy starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who’ve done a bunch of other movies together, plus Seth Rogan voices the character Paul.
🖖👉👈
Oh boy, did I ever need something to watch right now! 😃🦌😂🦌 Can't wait! Go!
Mom got some xplaining to do😂😂.... I always say if Chris Farley was still here he would've been in some of the best movies 💜💜
I would have loved to see his version of Shrek.
he wouldve had Kevin James role in the Grownups movies, actually every role Kevin got wouldve belonged to Farley.
Forget the STUPID critics and what their asinine reviews say, this is a TRUE American classic comedy. LOVE this movie!
You guys would love Bill Murray’s “The Man Who Knew Too Little.” It’s criminally underrated and hilarious.
I love Chris Farley! He was also great in Coneheads, Black Sheep and Almost Heroes
Nah, sadly he went way downhill after Tommy Boy.
it was a small part but he was great in Billy Madison.
Almost Heroes is so underrated. Doesn't get a lot of play bc of how ridiculous it is but my favorite Farley movie.
@@christopherschreiber5805 STOP SAYING UNDERRATED!
That word is so ridiculously overused and misused and thrown around way too much on RUclips. Almost Heroes wasn’t that good, it got exactly the amount of credit it deserved
Don't forget both Wayne's World films.
One of my favorite movies growing up. I’m a Chris Farley super fan, from this movies to his SNL days. I only wish I was born sooner than 2001 so I could be around in the moment for such a lively and lovely entertainment. RIP👑❤️
those were the best SNL days, every Saturday you HAD TO watch. watching him and Sandler do "Lunchlady Land" was unreal.
a Tommy Boy reaction?
HOLY SCHNIKEES!!
3:55
For anyone curious; the American collegiate grading system works as follows,
A- exceptional
B- above average
C- average
D- acceptable
F- failed.
Black sheep
Beverly Hill ninja LEGEND R.I.P CHRIS FARLEY
“FAT GUY IN A LITTLE COAT….”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
React to Black Sheep. Chris Farley and David spade are in that movie as well
Tommy boy is still one of the best movies
Farley was a throwback to previous great physical comedians. A combination of Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Curly Howard, Stan Laurel with a heavy dose of John Belushi. Not ahead of his time, but unique in that nobody was (or has) even tried doing that style of comedy since. Not to that extreme anyway.
7:27 the part where these two goofballs laugh the hardest lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
6:25
What did you do? Always gets a laugh out of me, love this movie lol
I was so happy to see this reaction, Chris Farley was one of my favorite people of all times!! I miss him dearly and still get emotional thinking about how he's gone!! However, being able to see others still enjoy his work to this day is something very special. Good reaction guys!!
Tommy want wingy
"He was just like... I don't know man. He looked like he was hopped up on some real good shit."
He almost for sure literally was. Farley's drug of choice was typically coke. He died of a drug overdose at 33 with a combination of morphine and coke in his body. RIP Chris Farley, gone too soon.
It was such a shame, he really had some very dark demons and I'm sure he had a lot of pressure to keep the weight, to keep that "fat guy" trope and I'm sure that was very difficult and hard for him.
He might have died anyway. The autopsy revealed he had advanced atherosclerosis, so a heart attack might've killed him by 2001 at least.
How hyped up Chris Farley was....well there was a reason for that. He has been missed RIP. Chris Farley and David Spade were comedy gold.
Definitely a highly underated movie . Doesn't get enough love. Chris and David were such an awesome duo in the 90s . Y'all should do Black Sheep next. That also has Chris Farley and David Spade. Another funny one
RIP, Chris Farley. He's making jokes with God now.
Now you guys gotta react to Black Sheep. It came out a year after Tommy Boy. Farley and Spade's second team up in another solid comedy. Sadly it would be the last. Black Sheep is hilarious. You guys would love it.
You should definitely definitely watch more Chris Farley movies !!!
Black Sheep 1996
Beverly Hills ninja 1997
26:45 - I can't imagine a better pre-9/11 joke that works so well in a post-9/11 world.
My mom would never talk to a guy that had never seen Tommy Boy 😂🤣
Holy Schnikes! Definitely one of my all-time favorites
Mom!! Your boyfriend is reacting to Tommy Boy!
I was in college in the mid-90s and this was one of the top quotable movies from that time. Twenty years later, and I watching I realize how many little lines I still use. Great movie. RIP Chris.
i still say holy Schnikes.
Add Wayne’s world to that….
“Hi I’m earth, have we met?”😂
And of course "Dumb and Dumber."
Now you have to see them together in Blacksheep. Farley and Spade had amazing chemistry.
The Emperor's New Groove; David Spade at his best
Chris Farley for me will always be one of the funniest actors ever. Every movie he was in was absolute gold!
Beverly Hills Ninja is another one of Chris Farley's good ones. Plays about the same type of character. Tommy Boy is still funny today, since the first time I saw it when I was 14.
That and it’s Christian Bale’s favorite movie
Yes!!!! Love, love, love this movie and so glad you're watching it!!!!🧡
Omg yessss you guys pick the most random and best movies 🍿. My sibs and I have been quoting this for years.
Black Sheep is just as good if not better, I hope you react to that too.
My life is flavored with Tommy Boy jokes! So many great one liners to tout out.😆
Tommy's father in this movie is the same father for David Spade in the sitcom Just Shoot Me.
You must do Black Sheep now, these two guys are comic geniuses together. Also, Beverley Hills Ninja is another good one from Farley. RIP
My sister and I quote this film back and forth all the time lol "He just blasted his nuts" Thank you for that best line ever Curtis! love you! hahaha
Chris Farley had a lot of energy and always knew how to make people laugh. Watch interviews, he was over the top crazy but in a good way. Adam Sandler made a song about him
If you guys like Chris Farley and wanna check out a movie no one else has reacted to you should check out Almost Heroes. Also not a bad movie to check out with Thanksgiving right around the corner. Love your guys’ reactions
Good recommendation!!!! It was my second favorite Farley film!
Black Sheep and almost heroes, of course this movie too.
Billy Madison as well!!!
I can't believe y'all left out the scene where Tommy knocks the door off of the car then blames Richard for it. It's easily one of the funniest scenes in the movie!
‘Black Sheep’ would be a great follow up to this movie as it has both Chris Farley and David Spade again
Spade thought it was awful but it has the funniest scene of any movie I can think of. Overall it's not Tommy Boy funny but it's still great.
Had to use the "bees" trick once. Problem was there were actually bees. To this day I don't understand how the LEO directly behind us never pulled us over even when we veered off the road and bailed out.
Oh snaps, I remember my mom and my brother use to watch this movie when I was a kid! I don't remember much, but I do know that it was hilarious! Hope you guys like it! 🙏🏽💪👏
No joke? You two are the comedic duo that brought this movie to another level. I may not be the biggest fan of Chris Farley but "Tommy Boy" remains a solid movie throughout, and this watch-along with you guys was just pure gold. -- With the *greatest* reaction to the hairpiece gag on RUclips, hands down!
Yall both made the same face 16:27 🤣🤣
"He acts like he was hoped up on some good shit" lol.actually,he was! And it killed him
The factory this was made at was where my father worked he was there when the filming was being done.
This movie almost ended the friendship between David Spade and Chris Farley. They were filming this and still doing SNL so they had to work constantly together and as good as friends as they were, they were also getting a little tired of each other at times. The were leaving SNL to go back to film the movie and Chris said he didn't feel well and went to bed early. David hung out with Rob Lowe and the next day Chris was pissed that he didn't get invited to hang out with them. He asked Spade how it was hanging out with Rob Lowe and the got into a pretty physical fight over it.
about fucking time someone reacted to this... i think black sheep is better though... you 2 need to see the matt foley skit
FINALLY! I still quote this movie to this day! A lot of people have no idea Wtf I’m talking about.
FAT GUY IN A LITTLE COAT...
FAT GUY IN A LITTLE COAT...
( HOPE THATS THE RIGHT FILM? )
I first watched this movie when I was 5 years old with my uncle and from then on I would see it on tv at random and I still laugh at the first sales pitch scene when he uses the toy cars as examples for the company's break pads. RIP Chris Farley.
FOURTH LOL. i havent seen the last few movies yall did yet so ive missed watching you guys so much :( i literally love this movie so much im hype af
I love the SNL crowd! Dan Aykroyd is my favorite. My suggestions... Nothing But Trouble ( Dan Aykroyd, Chevy chase, John candy!) And Coneheads was my dad's favorite bit.
Somebody should have told you guys that your in for a treat with this one 😂 .
Yes!!! I love this movie!! Me and my dad crack each other by saying Tommy Boy references!!
Go away and let me sleep for the Love of GOD!
@@QueenReliableRenea85 Your head has a shell on it!!
Chris Farley was so dope, and way ahead of his time, this is one of my favs!!
Even if they aren't related Tommy and Richard give off brother energy
Truly a classic, and Chris Farley was legendary.
Black Sheep is very similar to this, but centered around a political campaign.
Chris Farley was actually going to be the lead in Shrek, damn shame we lost him so soon.
So I just have to say, I've done the bit....
Back in high school when we were trying on marching uniforms in band... I tried one on that was way too small...
I walked out of the band changing room with it on, dancing around, singing, "fat guy in a little coat.... fat guy in a little coooat..."
I didn't rip it, cuz that would just be rude lmao
One of the best movies ever. An absolute cult classic, so glad you watched!!
If you're getting into these types of movies, you have to check out (if you haven't) Black Sheep, Billy Madison, Big Daddy, The Waterboy, Ace Ventura, Animal House, Wedding Crashers, Old School and tons of others. lol - Shame about Chris Farley.. Had so much energy and there was no one like him.
they did another movie together Black sheep.
He was hopped up on some good sh**. Great actor struggled with depression and died of cocaine OD. He brought lots of joy
Excellent movie and excellent reaction guys .. I loved Chris Farley! Wish he was still around!
You should definitely check out other movies with Chris like Black Sheep and Beverly Hills Ninja,Almost Hero’s and small parts in Wayne’s World movies etc
Might I suggest Smoky and the Bandit
Black Sheep is pretty funny but Tommy Boy is better in my opinion. The dynamic and chemistry between Chris Farley and David was among the best for a comedic duo in the 90’s. It’s movies like this that really makes me love and appreciate Saturday Night Live because they provided us with a lot of great humor and entertainment throughout the industry since 1975. #TommyBoy #ChrisFarley #DavidSpade #LorneMichaels #HolySchnikes 👍🏻🎬🎥😂
Have one recommendation in movie for you: The Return of the Living Dead (1985), this movie is classic and hilarious!
Have to say I'm a bit surprised, another spooky season has passed and no, Army of Darkness, to finish off the Evil Dead trilogy, which sets you up for the ultimate Evil Dead experience, the series Ash vs Evil Dead, the perfect mix of blood, guts and laughs, and did I mention the blood? Also, astounded that you haven't done, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, because all 3 are right up your alley, and will have you laughing your asses off, metaphorically speaking.
My husband and I will be joking around and I’ll just say, out of the blue, “Shut up Richard!”. (Of course, my husband’s name isn’t Richard😂)
I must of watched this movie like a trillion times before 2003. Glad you guys enjoyed this film.
LOVED THE REACTION!!! YOU GUY'S NEED TO CHECK OUT "BLACK SHEEP" ALSO STARRING CHRIS FARLEY AND DAVID SPADE. AND ALSO "THE BREAKS" STARRING THE LATE MICH MULLALY
"Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa or Spanky?"
"Sinner" hehe
Love the video octokrool stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way this movie is so good
