Chris Farley remains to this day one of my favorite comedians of all time. his comedy and physical antics still hold up to today and I miss him a lot. so happy to see you guys react to this one; I'm always pleased to see people be surprised with how much heart it has. thanks for the reaction guys! ❤
Man I was thinking the same damn thing. They know sooooo much about movies, yet never have seen these ultimate classics lol it’s actually just mind blowing 😂
@@ReelRejects watch Menace 2 Society. It’s in the realm of Boyz in the hood. Such a good movie from a real life story stand point. The way it was filmed has just a realism to it. I only say this movie because Its probably something that you haven’t seen and truly is a good movie. Also something that most of us don’t know what it’s like to be in a environment like that
"This movie has more of a heart than I expected." Exactly what I thought when I saw this. And, as you said, Chris Farley is very endearing. Just seems like the kind of guy you'd enjoy hanging out with. Great reactions you two!
David Spade and Dana Carvey (Garth Algar, Wayne’s World) have a podcast about comedy and their lives in Hollywood and SNL. They recently did a 2 part episode in memory of Chris Farley featuring interviews with friends, family, and colleagues. It’s really touching and worth a listen. Rob Lowe, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Kevin Nealon, and others provide a lot of insight into what it was like to work with him. He died of an overdose of cocaine and morphine (speedball) at the age of 33 in Chicago. This was eerily similar to the death to another SNL titan and Chris Farley’s hero, John Belushi, who died of a speedball OD also at the age of 33. Belushi himself was born and raised in Chicago.
Loved that two parter. Adam’s Chris Farley song at the end nearly broke me. Only reason I held it together was because i was out delivering and didn’t want people to see the Amazon driver blubbering on their doorbell camera lol.
People forget how kind of heartwarming this movie is. Everything with Tommy and his dad, him and Richard actually becoming friends, etc. it’s a goofy comedy but it’s got a lot of heart
It's still too soon. RIP Chris Farley. He comes across as everyone's best friend, or older brother etc. His manic intensity sells just about anything. Very much like Robin Williams (more tears) in that respect. There is something extremely pure and sincere about both of them. His films are all full of laughter and yet so much heart in his characters.
I still miss Chris Farley, if he'd beaten his demons and voiced Shrek who knows what he'd be doing right now. One of the most naturally funny people of all time
@@joeblankenship377 before he died they had a drama movie in development that Farley was going to star in, a biopic about the silent film star Fatty Arbuckle. It would've been amazing, his story is very sad.... and Chris obviously had a lot of depth to his talent we never got to see unfortunately.
Chris Farley actually passed due to a drug overdose just like John Belushi. Both were very similar in their comedic performances. Both careers were also similar. Farley and Belushi where some of my favorites as a kid. When you are a big kid growing up these guys made it seem like an overweight kid can do anything. But it was their talent and heart that made them legends.
41:55 "He's very committed." Norm MacDonald told a story about Chris Farley and why his pratfalls were so good. He said most people, when they fall through a table on SNL, just instinctively put their arms out to break the fall. Farley could fall face-first and it made it so much funnier. Norm's explanation was very poignant (intentionally so I'm sure, Norm was very precise with his words) because he said Farley lacked the self-preservation instinct and that allowed him to squeeze more funny out of everything he did.
I just love that Sally came back. She was always one of my favorite guests and I don't remember which video was her return to the channel, but I remember being so happy.
The director recently admitted that the movie misquoting Empire Strikes Back with "Luke, I am your father" is probably why everyone now says the line that way.
@@Rmlohner oh yea lol. I just never thought Tommy Boy influenced pop-culture in that way. I freaking love Tommy Boy and when I bring it up to Joe Smoe, they’re like “what’s that?”. So I guess I always thought that Tommy boy is more of a cult favorite thing.
One thing that I love is how they keep recognizing Chris Farley’s athletic ability. Because the dude was surprisingly agile and athletic for how big he was.
For every adjective there's a bunch of actors that come to mind, but one always comes to mind first. Chris Farley will always be the one I think of when I think of the word "loveable".
"Im surprised thats not a meme" Back in the day it was, but instead of them being on the computer we would say the line out loud to each other like constantly. It was like pre-meme, I had some friends who spent almost 6 straight months speaking like Beavis and Butthead and quoting lines from the show. Some other classic quotes from this movie were the fat guy in a little coat song, "It doesnt hurt here or here, but right in this area", " Did you used to eat paint chips as a kid"?, and the biggest one: "What'd you do?!"
One of the best road trip comedies imo is Due Date starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. Much in the same vein as Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, but Zach makes it so much more entertaining!
Chris Farley was amazing. I remember hearing on the radio that he died. I was driving with two friends. Me and one friend were devastated to hear the news, The other friend was sympathetic and said "Oh so that is like when I heard Tupac died."
"Runs pretty fast for a big guy" Sadly that was the cocaine 😞 rest in peace Chris Farley . My preteen and teen years owe you alot and I'll never forget you dancing off against Patrick Swayze for the Chippendales audition lol
This reminds me so much of Farley's SNL sketch with Paul McCartney where's Chris is interviewing him but extremely nervous and keeps saying 'remember when you wrote that song.."
One of the best 90s comedies. Chris And David are so good and funny in this and the chemistry is spot on. This has great over the top comedy and emotion drama and heart that a lot of comedies of missing today. So tragic what happens to Chris and I think he could've been an amazing dramatic actor if he'd gotten a chance RIP. Please React To Pearl. It's better than X And Mia deserved a Oscar nomination.
Life does seems a lil different after you lose a father. Losing mine was the hardest day of my life. We were really close and best buds. I miss him everyday. But he would want me and his family to get back to living and to enjoy it while we can cause in the end we’ll see each other again. And this is my favorite Chris Farley film when it came out as I’m a late 80’s baby. Also thanks for uploading this reaction been a fan for years.

51:36 Adam Sandler did an interview where he was talking about Farley and Spade. He said that Chris and David were “actual best friends,” but that he and Farley were best friends in the sense that Adam was who Chris would come to when he was pissed at David Spade
Seeing these adults talking about this movie like it's from ancient times when I was in high school when it came out has me about to crumble into dust and blow away.
Another semi-Easter egg: in 50 First Dates, Tommy is mentioned as TD Callahan & having created a hospital for people with brain injuries….it was so awesome to hear that. What a guy 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
