Another Will Farrell underrated classic is 'Night at the roxbury' lol Also Wills line "Well, that escalated quickly" has become one of the funniest memes ever.
I swear I feel like that line integrated into our society because of this movie lol. Like I still hear this line from people sometimes, even if they have no idea what Anchorman is. This film is so quotable
The part where Baxter is barking at the bear and the bear is roaring is supposed to have subtitles. Too bad it didn’t show up on your copy. Great reaction gentlemen. I love this movie and it was super fun to see experience it for the first time.
The part that I thought was the craziest is the end credits when they show how much CEO salaries and benefits skyrocketed while normal workers got hardly anything

I was a sophomore in high school and I went with friends to see this, the whole theater was cracking up, I don't think I've ever laughed as hard at a movie since
This in 2004 and Old School coming out earlier in 2003 solidified Will Farrell as a movie star. I saw both movies in the theater twice, they were that much fun.
This movie is a gem. It’s like combining the outlandish “Airplane” in the setting of the boy’s club mentality of 1970s newsrooms. So glad you guys enjoyed it and yes, Baxter rules! 😎👍
It's really fascinating how the original plot for this movie was about news reporters stranded on a deserted island with violent monkeys, and eventually turned into this
For being his first major feature film, Judd Apatow hit a home run with this one. Any of his movies are pretty much guaranteed hilarity. 40 Year Old Virgin Forgetting Sarah Marshall Knocked Up I Love You Man Bridesmaids Talladega Nights Step Brothers Superbad So yeah, start with those. 👍😊
A classic in the world of dumb comedies! I'm a bit surprised you haven't done Stepbrothers with Ferrell and John C. Reilly, as brothers it would be hilarious to see you guys watch that!
I just love the random battle in the middle of the movie! I think they took a similar approach here to "Snakes on a Plane", asking, "What would be outrageous and fun to do?" and it worked!
I was surprised the guys weren’t laughing more at that scene. My friends and I were absolutely howling in that part. This movie has tons of great scenes though.
Just so much fun! The waterskiing squirrel actually was a feel good news story back in the day. And then there's the yazz flute - hey Aqualung! Love you guys!!
I've always loved the detail that when Brian says the news team has been at the bar the entire time Ron has - it's true, they are actually right there in the background in the preceding scenes.
I forgot Baxter and Ron wore matching pjs AND headgear. 🤣 Plus, I'm pretty sure the name Mantooth comes from Randall Mantooth, one of the stars of Emergency!, a show in the 70s.
I remember watching this movie with a group of friends when it came to DVD and I don't think any of us have laughed harder than we did when Jack Black punted Baxter. Also, I can't hear Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son" without thinking about SUPERNATURAL.
Anchorman is one of those movies for me that I didn’t love the first time I watched it but after subsequent viewings, it quickly became one of my favorite comedies of all time. much of the movie doesn’t make sense and is random but that’s the point and it’s hilarious. so many quotable moments and just a crew of top tier comedians at their peak. “the man punted Baxterrrr!!” “it’s so hot! milk was a bad choice…” and “you are a whole wheel of cheese? wow! I’m. or even mad, that’s just impressive!”those are just a few of my favorite lines 😂
The Other Guys and Blades of Glory are 2 of my fave Will Ferrell movies, if you're looking to continue with his movies. PS I have to say, the more times I watched this, the funnier it got. I looked a lot like you guys during the tv anchor fight scene - now it's my favorite part of the movie.
The fight scene was an excuse to get all of their famous friends hilarious cameos. There was Vince Vaughn leading the no. 2 news team, Luke Wilson leading his team and losing his arm, Tim Robbins from Shawshank leading the PBS team and Ben Stiller leading the Latino news team.
This movie was so hilarious, for no reason at all,my favorite part was the news, anchors fight in the alley, well that escalated quickly, lol.great reaction.
Anchorman is my fav comedy ever. I love Will Farrell. I think ya'll were expecting a more sofisticated comedy. But this is pure silly, slapstick. I literally laugh at the same jokes everytime. And the sequel is funny too.
This is Will Ferrell’s baby. This, Talageda Nights, Stepbrothers, etc. Now you both got to watch Anchorman 2. May as well, you’re both down the rabbit hole with this one. I didn’t know either but I own both of them. Great comedies. When will you react to Clerks II? Can’t wait to see what you both react to next.
If you had lived through the 1970s the concepts would have made a lot of sense. First, there was extreme competition between the local news stations. There were only three networks and their prime of differentiating themselves was via their news programs. The Nielsen ratings were the big way to determine who was winning the local news competition, and were prominently printed in newspapers. The sexism and misogyny were rampant in the culture so a lot of exaggerated humor mined from that concept. As for the flute solo, flute solos were a very prominent thing in popular music in the 1970s. So, I thought the concept was a great parody of that weird truth. Don't exactly know why the case for the 1970s, though I assume synthesizers replaced them as musical instruments starting in the the 1980s.
Fantastic video reaction! Thank you both vury much for reacting to this video! It was HILARIOUS! You are both looking great as always, and I hope you are doing alright and staying safe! I can not wait to see your next reaction!
This is such a quotable film! The meme/saying “ Well that escalated quickly….” - is from this film! The Anchorman battle was a West Side Story spoof Did you check out Luke Wilson, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughan & Tim Robbins? Afternoon Delight is a chooooon!
Fun fact: The original script had news anchors crashing on a mountain and having to fight their way through ninja monkeys. Not surprisingly, no one in Hollywood wanted to make that movie.
