The Anchorman DVD has something like 45 minutes of footage with Burt Reynolds, who was actually going to be in this film. It was basically a whole other movie they had going, but then they decided to just cut him out of it.
The scene with Baxter and the bear was supposed to have subtitles btw, they have a whole conversation about Baxter meeting the bears family in the woods lol. Not sure why this version of the movie didn’t include it, but I’ve seen that happen on another reaction video too
It's because she's watching with captions on. That automatically puts on subtitles for only the spoken dialogue. I saw this in the theater and you get Baxter's speech.

With Halloween coming up, I've got to recommend both Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Ernest Scared Stupid. Also, there is a connection between the two movies. The effects for both killer Klowns from Outer Space and Ernest Scared Stupid were done by the Chiodo Brothers. The Chiodo Brothers are the guys who wrote, directed, and produced Killer Klowns from Outer Space, as well as doing the practical effects and makeup. So some of the effects from Killer Klowns were reused and repurposed for Ernest Scared Stupid. I think they'd make for a great reaction. They're both perfect mixes of spooks, laughs, and great creature effects.
Anchorman was one of the best movies of the 2000s. I remember some soldiers in Iraq had 'stay classy' with Ron Burgandy on their HumVees. Other classics from that era are Zoolander/Step-Brothers/Talladega nights.

Entire subplots and actors were left on the floor of the edit room, and while not as iconic as the final version of 'Anchorman,' it is well worth watching

I must petition for “Dr. Strangelove: Or how I learned to stop fearing and love the bomb”. Best comedy out there in my opinion. Peter Sellers killed in that film and Kubrick is a killer director (sometimes almost literally…) For another movie from the same creator as Anchor Man, “The Big Short” is funny AND informative.
One can love Anchorman and Dr. Strangelove simultaneously, but they are very different comedies. Miranda seems to like dumb comedies. Im not being condescending. I like dumb comedies too. But Dr. Strangelove is more satirical. Not like the "laugh out loud" modern style of comedy. Of course its just my 2 cents. Maybe she would love it

Just a little factoid here: I read in an interview that the inspiration behind the Rod Burgundy character is none other than Mort Crim - a legendary and renowned anchor to those of us in the Detroit, Toledo, Windsor area. I lived in Monroe, Michigan most of my life so Mort Crim contributed to the soundtrack of my life ... But I was always a Bill Bonds kinda guy! I mean, the crap Bill Bonds got away with?!? I worked with Will on Talladega Nights and he'd improv all the time. Half of our direct as his pit crew was don't laugh lol. I remember the first He's on fire scene we filmed at Rockingham he said "Okay guys. I'll see you on the space ship with Abe Lincoln and the mayonnaise sandwiches. My favorite time on set, the most access and biggest budget so best food lol.
This is the scene stealing portion of Steve Carell's career. He has a similar act of thievery in Bruce Almighty. Carell is one of the first stars who I got to see rise, from his early days on The Dana Carvey Show, to his work as a corespondent on The Daily Show, to these smaller parts, then his catapult into the main stream with The Office, and all the staring roles that followed. What an absolute joy to watch. I hope you do more of his stuff on the channel.

Just a little factoid here: I read in an interview that the inspiration behind the Rod Burgundy character is none other than Mort Crim - a legendary and renowned anchor to those of us in the Detroit, Toledo, Windsor area. I lived in Monroe, Michigan most of my life so Mort Crim contributed to the soundtrack of my life ... But I was always a Bill Bonds kinda guy! I mean, the crap Bill Bonds got away with?!? He's the GOAT! 🤣

How can anybody not like Will Ferrell? Hrs definitely one of the comedy stars on the planet & hes most indeed the hilarious guy on the planet in all of his movies especially in Anchorman. Plus, Miranda i loved your reaction to every single part of the movie especially with Steve Carell's scenes involved. He was funny as hell in this movie! I just watched this movie last night & its been years since the last time i watched Anchorman.
Definitely one of Will Ferrell's best movies hes ever done especially in Step Brothers which is my favorite one most importantly. I worked with Will on Talladega Nights and he'd improv all the time. Half of our direct as his pit crew was don't laugh lol. I remember the first He's on fire scene we filmed at Rockingham he said "Okay guys. I'll see you on the space ship with Abe Lincoln and the mayonnaise sandwiches. My favorite time on set, the most access and biggest budget so best food lol.

This is the scene stealing portion of Steve Carell's career. He has a similar act of thievery in Bruce Almighty. Carell is one of the first stars who I got to see rise, from his early days on The Dana Carvey Show, to his work as a corespondent on The Daily Show, to these smaller parts, then his catapult into the main stream with The Office, and all the staring roles that followed. What an absolute joy to watch. I hope you do more of his stuff on the channel.
