I think this reaction set a new record for "concerned looks by Addie" lol
😂😂😂
this movie was the ENTIRE meme culture for pre-social media
"I love carpet. I love desk. I love lamp. I LOVE LAMP!" - ME, the first and last time I went to the Home Renovation store with my wife.
Sometimes, I look at my carpet and yell at it, "LOUD NOISES!"
It never gets old. :)
Wait was she your wife at the time? Or were you still dating?
That "mystery clip" was a clip from Smokey and The Bandit (starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields). One of the first movies to show the bloopers during the credits.
Smokey and the bandit ll . Sally Field
The FIRST movie w / a blooper reel at the end !
"60% of the time it works every time" is a commonly used quote around my office.
"...around my office, 100% of the time."
You missed the joke there.
Not only did Baxter live, he was the actual hero of the story
He ate all that cheese,,I thought he sank and drowned
Well it's a good thing you pointed that out for her, I don't think she knew despite HAVING WATCHED THE FUCKING MOVIE
I’ve watched this movie SO many times that I used to know every single line in the movie. It was hugely influential on my style of humor. I love this movie so much, it’s my favorite movie other than Animal House and Titanic. The absolute chokehold this had on me as a 7th grader is crazy. I even named my red car Ron Burgundy once I got a car so I could drive to college so it’s definitely stuck around in my mind years later. I can’t believe this movie is 20 years old now 😩😅 I still remember watching it every weekend with my bf at the time and reciting the whole thing with him. Happy times with this movie 🥰
22:13 "Boy, that escalated quickly." I think this is the origin of that saying -- and it's still going strong after 20 years!
It is, isn't it!
“Panda jerk!”
“Great story. Compelling and rich.”
The ‘Rondezvous’ line killed me 😂 this is why I’m subbed to Addie
Brick: "The bears can smell the menstruation."
Addie: "...........uh-huh."
That open mouth awe into a big’ol smile after Jack Black punted Baxter was priceless 😂😂
"It's the pleats"😂😂😂
"That escalated quickly" came from this movie.
Oh, and "Baxter" the dog's real name was Peanut.
Sadly, another dog had to play Baxter in the sequel.
I got to say this movie holds a special place in my heart because I’m a born and raised “San Diego-ite”…”San Deigo-in”?
San Diegoon
A whale's vagina 😂
"San Day-ahgo"
Great reaction Addie, i love this movie its hilarious. Adam McKay was a writer on SNL at the same time that Will Ferrel was a cast member. Adam’s most successful sketches on the show were the ones with Will, and Will’s most successful sketches were the ones written by Adam (usually cowritten by Will). They both left SNL around the same time, and so started working together on movies…becoming a kind of director/actor writing duo. A lot of younger people don't get the reference, but Ron's Dog's was named after Ted Baxter. Ted was a fictional idiotic obnoxious news anchor from the old Mary Tyler Moore Show a sitcom back in the 70's. Poor Christina Applegate is in terrible health these days, and it’s really sad because she seems so sweet. Keep up the good work.
Worst thing to ever happen to comedy was someone telling Adam McKay "You shouldn't do hilarious movies anymore, make art that matters. Like dramedies without wit, full of stacked casts and heavy-handed social commentary." No,but the guy made several of the funniest movies made, his foray into drama hasn't been close to as rewarding...for viewers.
@@christofferjenzen78 I think McKay definitely excels in comedy, but I also think The Big Short is pretty great and strikes the right balance. Its funny at times, serious at others, and not too pretentious. His more recent stuff, on the other hand...idk, hard for me to judge.
I think my favorite part is when Ron is having a normal conversation with Baxter after he met Veronica for the first time, because I know that I also have deep conversations with my dog like that, as well.
I'm in a glass case of emotion!!
In the original script the title was "NEWS ANCHORS vs APES" and it was absolutely insane and even more crazy than the movie we got.
It was a survival parody where, on the way to a news anchor convention, Ron Burgondy convinces the pilot that he can fly the plane but then almost immidiately crashes in to a nearby cargo plane that was filled with monkeys and throwing stars. Stranded on top of a mountain the news anchors have to fight off and survive the vicious monkeys that are armed with ninja throwing stars, while trying to make it off the mountain.
It was deemed too bizarre to make by the studio but they loved the character of Ron Burgondy and the script was reworked in to the Anchorman.
This seems too absurd to be true . . . and yet that's why I suspect it _is_ true. 🤦♂✈🐵🥷🤦♂
@@bigdream_dreambigOh yes i know but it's absolutely true :)
Both Will Farrell and Paul Rudd have spoken about it in interviews and there are some clips here on YT of them talking about reading/working on the original script and the pitch to the studio executives.
This movie HAS to be made. I need to watch it.
"The man punted Baxter!"
Brick stole the entire movie, such a great character. xD
One of the things I love about you is how you care about the puppies more than the human characters. 😊
These 5 comedic actors may have been the greatest ensemble ever, and I love this movie.
Rudd, Koechner, Carell and Farrell improv-ing most of the dialogue was brilliant - but also, Christina Applegate is one of the all-timers. She has great comedic timing, but also plays the perfect 'straight-man' for the other 4 goofballs to play off (along with being even easier on the eyes than Paul Rudd and his 70's mustache undeniably are). I've been a fan of hers for about as long as I can remember.
60% of the time your reactions are great every time.
"Boy, that escalated quickly".
32:44 - that is a clip from "Smoky and the Bandit" - a movie famous for showing a bunch of funny outtakes at the end of the film
Actually, that was from “Smokey and the Bandit II”.
The kid you thought did a good job at 25:00 is Pearl, the daughter of Anchorman director Adam McKay. And, if you think she's good here, you should see an even younger Pearl starring opposite Will Ferrell in the short films "The Landlord" and "Good Cop, Baby Cop". Absolutely hysterical.
I WANT MY MONEY!
@@danflashes7125 I work too harrrd-uh.
@@ToniMcGinty You need to relax!
@@danflashes7125 I'll put you out on the street!
“It is Anchor-man!!! Not Anchor -lady and that is a scientific fact!!!”
-Champ
“LOUD NOISES!!!”
-Brick
So glad you finally watched this, Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies!!
Its a Ron-dez-vous 😁
loll
It took me a while to realize Ve(Ron)ica
The Ron-dezvous joke 😂, made my day 👍
Love your reaction. Your enthusiasm has made my day. ❤
Always fun seeing someone react to seeing this for the first time. :) You did not disappoint. :)
I got to meet the WHAMMY guy a few months ago. He is really nice in person and a giant 😂😂😂
20:54: "Where'd you get a hand grenade?"
"Hanging from the lampshade!"
I’ve seen this movie over 30 times. Know every line. I’m ever back in the DVD days when I would watch it with people they hated me because I would say lines about three minutes in advance when a new scene popped up
I saw this at the cinema and was laughing so much it hurt. Classic! 🤣
You been wanting to watch this Makes it So Much Better! 😂
Can't wait 4 Anchorman 2! 🤐🎬📽️📺🍿
You have to watch the 2nd one. It's even funnier than the first and probably one of the best comedies ever.
Baxter being punted kills me every time.
Best quotes in the film: "I like lamp" and "milk was a bad choice".
I'm in a glass cage of emotion!
The sequel is definitely worth a watch too! Some of it feels like overdoing what worked here, but there is so much in Anchorman 2 that levels me flat every time!
Those poor villagers of Pompei!😭
Especially the war of the news team
I love lamp took the world by storm! It was EVERYWHERE.
I knew once I saw the reaction come up. The only scene I could think of was Baxter being punted off the bridge. It didn't disappoint 😂😂😅
26:45 Take me home, oh mother, father
Take me home, I hate Granada
Don't leave me out in the forest
Where I might get eaten by a bear 🎶
Every time one of my dogs bark at me, i instantly respond with "You know I don't speak Spanish!!!!"❤
Hey Addie! Great reaction! I'm so glad you liked this movie. This is my all time fave comedy for sure. Part is good...can't touch the first but still funny.
Now, Anchorman 2.
17:25 - the double Addie Salute for Baxter. 😂
" I burned my tongue " ... the absolute seriousness on his face when he said that line, i'm currently cleaning my fanta off m y monitor
Addie is reacting to Anchorman? Super duper!
Dynamite
"It's a RON-devouz" god damnit I laughed
I'm just glad Addie finally got to see Pleasuretown.
The one blooper with actors you didn't recognize was from the Burt Reynolds movie SMOKEY AND THE BANDITS, which was the fist movie I remember putting a blooper reel into the end credits.
Brick did indeed put mayonnaise in the toaster.
Addie acting like she could resist the power of the mustache! Ron's mustache is mightier than Hercules!
Also, I do recommend the sequel. Whilst I prefer the first, the second one is still fun in my opinion.
"Maybe some sex, you know, see what happens" Now that's a pickup line!
The outtakes are fun as well. Jack Black has trouble kicking the stuffed dog.
Hi Addie!😊 Looking very lovely in your red dress!❤ That blooper you did not recognize is from "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977) with Burt Reynolds and Sally Field. I believe it was the first film to have bloopers at the end of the film. Great reactions to the very funny original Anchorman, Addie!!!🎬👏👏👏👏 I have to go now and put on my "Sex Panther by Odeon" for a date.😉
"Hey. Where'd you get those clothes,at the...toilet... store?" I mean, concidering his condition, that's a pretty good burn.
31:42 "Brick went on to be one of the top political advisor's in the Bush Whitehouse." Well, Stev Carrel did play Bush's Secretary of Defence in the 2018 film "Vice", so that predication sort of was true. Fortunately, David Koechner has never been accused of sexually harassing any 4 time Superbowl winning quarterbacks.
By Grabthar’s Hammer, what a movie! I love that these guys have a rumble with the other Action News Teams. There are so many big name cameos.
Galaxy quest reference in an anchorman video. 👏
What a great movie, and what a great reaction. You stay classy, Addie.
Soundtrack is epic.
I imagine Unicorns & Rainbows would ABSOLUTELY be the “Addie Experience”.
Liked your reaction, definitely would watch your reaction to the sequel, it's hilarious along with this one.
alright, now we need Anchorman 2 lmao
The blooper of Burt Reynolds was from SMOKEY & THE BANDIT (which you s/check out) and was one of the first films to have end credit bloopers so this is a nod/tribute.
Stepbrothers is that family friendly feel good Will Ferrell movie you should checkout also🙂
To this day...I would LOVE to see Brick's origin story 😂
I saw this in theaters and I still can't believe when the Anchor street fight was happening and all the cameos were happening I tapped my friend on the shoulder and said "Watch Ben Stiller is gonna pop out of the bushes...AND THERE HE WAS!!!! Wait until you see what happens in Anchorman 2!
The sequel is definitely worth a watch. Great combination if new gags with fleshing out running gags.
After seeing Addie's reaction, I must learn to play jazz flute, just in case our paths cross some day. (I already have the mustache)
Mah, just buy a lot of Sex Panther - 60% of the time it works every time!
Addie, I'm so glad that you enjoyed Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). I plan on watching the unrated version of the movie soon. It has even more potty mouth that's uncalled for to members of the clergy and Ron Burgundy's mom. BTW, nice color coordination with your red shirt.
Speaking of Christina Applegate, I also suggest The Sweetest Thing (2002) with Cameron Diaz and Selma Blair. #TheSweetestThingForAddieCounts
Can't believe this is 20 years old.
Random blooper from Smokey and The Bandit at the end. 😂
Addie’s reaction to Brick (Steve Carrell) are priceless
I Love Lamp too!
Glad you liked it, it's one of my favorite comedies, it's so ridiculous but unique and original.. yeah Baxter is the best haha.. I didn't really like the sequel but it was awhile ago..
Sure, there's Anchorman 2, but there's also Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie! It was released straight-to-DVD at the same time as the first film, and it's essentially a movie made out of the storyline they dropped for the panda birth story. The rest of the film is filled in with alternate takes and line readings and given a new voice-over narration. I really want to see somebody react to this, since it's such a unique film!
That blooper of Smokey and the Bandit was a little nod I believe that director Hal Nedhan and Burt Reynolds were the first to put outtakes at the end of Burt's films.
The cast is so stacked that a lot of reactors don't even notice that the cameraman at the zoo is Seth Rogen. It's a tiny role with no punchlines, and he obviously wasn't super duper famous yet.
Brick - "I stabbed a man in the heart."
Ron - "I saw that. Brick killed a guy! Did you throw a trident?"
Brick - "Yeah, there were horses and a man on fire and I killed a guy with a trident."
Ron - "Brick I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should probably find somewhere to stay, maybe with a friend or a relative. Lay low for a while because you're probably wanted for murder."
Best bit of the movie for me. 60% of the time it slays me every time! 🤣
Sub-consciously, Adz liked this movie b/c the boys harmonized so well. Melted her heart.
Hello Addie I love your Channel
Anchorman 2 is really good as well.
Not sure if Addie has seen it or not, but a movie called The Artist also features a very charming performance from a dog 😁
Addie! Addie! Is this you reacting?!! Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee!
One of the best comedy movies ever made
I LOVE LAMP!
11:16 Wah wah wah wah wah…
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
"Brick Tamland is married with 11 children and is one of the top political advisors to the Bush White House."
still cracks me up
The blooper you didn't know was from Smoky and the Bandit. It's a really funny movie that also has a great blooper reel at the end. You should watch it.
Dorothy Mantooth is a saint!
"Ladies can do stuff now" you listen to Machete now
9:45 yes 💪💪
The blooper from Smokey and the Bandit is because that was the first film to do bloopers.
I love scotch. Scotch, scotch scotch down in my belly. Addie’s you have to watch the second one. It’s just as good. So many cameos in the second movie
You need to watch Smokey and the Bandit now!
Cant believe you didnt catch that in the blooper reel
