I can't thank you enough for posting this! I recently had my air filter and cabin filters replaced after mice got to them. I had the exact warning lights come on and panicked at first, but now, thanks to you, I understand! Thank you again, stay safe and peace...
I have a 2010 tundra my valves are not on the side like that. I have replaced the pumps but still in limp mode. Gonna just buy the bypass at this point. Not gonna pay dealership $4000 to fix.
Hello thanks for sharing this video tip. I have the same problem where 4LO light flashing, TRAC message and Check engine light on. My code was P0102 Mass Air Flow sensor. It’s turned out that my EFI fuse burned out. I replaced the fuse and no more light but when I rescanned it the code is still there after I cleared the code many times.
I’m not sure what causes it to go bad. It started off throwing codes every once in a while then it became more frequent. By the time it was really bad, the truck was in limp mode and wouldn’t go faster than 30mph.
@@canz8tercustumz yup, that's how it happens in some second generation Tacomas. There's a sponge filter in the secondary air injection pump on certain model years that MAY break down and pieces either do damage to the pump or to the valve it pushes to. The fix on the affected Tacomas is removing that sponge and putting a aftermarket filter directly on the intake. I'm glad that you were able to fix your Truck. Out of curiosity how much was the new valve??
@@bgnPrinceton it is a 4.6L….I’m not too familiar with the Toyota engines so I only know the 5.7L. Chevy makes a 4.8L so I knew it was smaller than that so I’m sure I said a 4.7L.
Here's a video I followed for the 5.7 ruclips.net/video/vxZsnoJdCyo/видео.html&ab_channel=AllTsab You will need a small open end 10 mil wrench to get 2 hidden bolts off the back of the intake manifold which hold on to a wire harness and it will take a while.
I have a 2007 Toyota tundra 4.7 L engine and my secondary valves. Do not look like what you’re working on. I watched a lot of videos and I am confused about why yours looks different than mine. I’ve looked up my parts and they are not the same as yours if they’re both 4.7 I don’t know why mine look different. Mine are in the same place as the one you’re working on, but they don’t look the same. Can someone tell me why that??
@@Wacko394 I thought the 2007 had the 4.6L but apparently it doesn’t. They must’ve started in 2008 with the 4.6L. I didn’t know the 4.7L had the same issues.
I can only speak for the 4.6L engine but it was a great suv, no problems at all. In my opinion, pay the $1300 to get the Hewitt Technologies bypass kit and you won’t ever have any issues with the secondary air injection again.
@@rayonwilliamssportsandfun2106 that’s even better if it’s cheaper now. It was a simple install and the company’s customer service is great if you have any problems.

Thank you for this video, my light just came on. This helps me with the diagnosis.

I had to change both valves and both pumps to fix my issue, if one is going out I’d C recommend checking them all since they’re semi connected
Look at my newer video where I replaced the entire system, haven’t had any issues since.
Thanks my 2012 has some gremlin, changed the pump and the a secondary valve but after a few days light and limp comes back on. Dang!!! I have the 4.6
It is same for corolla 2010 check engine and Vcs and TC light?
I have a 5.7l v8 I gues the pumps behind the manifold
Is this related to the sponge filter in the pump itself breaking down and fouling the valve??

Is this replaceable?
This is the 4.7 L ? Cause the 5.7 is harder to do it’s under the intake at back. Probably need to tell everyone that this is for ONLY the 4.7- 4.6
Yes, this is for the 4.7L. I don’t have a 5.7L so I was unaware that they are if different locations. Thanks for pointing that out.

Secondary air injection pump. Make sure you get the right one, there's one for the driver side and the passenger side. I bought mine from O'reilly's
