    Nice job👍 loving your channel. Only one tip if you don’t mind me suggesting is I would have covered the ports with masking tape to safe guard anything accidentally dropping in the engine. Keep them coming👍

    Nice video! I’ll be replacing a secondary air injection control valve without removing the intake manifold...bruised knuckles expected...the aftermarket (Dorman) part has the tabs you mentioned. I also need to replace my starter and am planning to take it into a mechanic...now I’m thinking about doing it myself after watching this.

    I had a secondary air injection failure on my 05 tundra. I was able to bypass the entire operation with a resistor in place to fool the computer into thinking everything was working as should be. Never had a problem again.

    i have a 2016 chevy calorado and i hate the fact that i had to remove the whole upper intake manifold in order to remove 1 coil and spark plug while doing my 130k mile spark plug and coil replacement.. should not be that hard to change something this simple. ended up breaking a pcv hose, quick fix with autozone vacuum tubes till i ordered the replacement part. lol.. Next im doing transmission filter and oil change. Good video keep up the good work.

    I happen to be one of the fortunate owners of an 06. Great truck, haven't had any unusual problems, just the usual stuff you would expect when your close to 200K. Ah, but the plot thickens. One morning I cranked it up, and a noise from under the hood caused some concern. The closest thing I can tell you it sounds like, is a noise that everyone has heard. It sounds like a jake brake on a semi that's getting off an expressway ramp

      I have an 07 with 207K and that same sound. It only happens on cold startups. I will sometimes get the P1441 code. What was your fix for this?

    • @charleshathcock2585
      @charleshathcock2585 Год назад

      I took the truck to a mechanic and he replaced something called an air induction motor. The next morning I cranked the truck and it made the same noise. Turns out it is another something you really don't need on a gasoline engine so it will run. They have to take the engine apart to get to this damn thing, so I asked if it would harm the engine if I didn't have it fixed, he said no it would not. I'm going to keep the noise. It only makes the noise when you first crank it up, lasts for about 45 seconds. On a totally different subject, anyone tell you where your starter is?

    Back to the jake brake noise in the Tundra. I would like to know if anyone has had this experience? I've narrowed down to one of the three secondary air induction valves, that are conveniently placed inside the engine. Sorry, I don't know the correct nomenclature for all the valves, but here's the symptom. I went through the no power thingy when you take off, had that fixed however the next morning, when I cranked it up, it was lake brake time again. That noise only lasts for about 30 seconds, then it stops. It may, or may not come back for a few more seconds, but then it quits. The truck runs fine, it's just that noise that bothers me. I guess my question would be, is it the bigger valve that's about 5 in. from the induction fan motor, or is it one of those two, that are back by the firewall. The only time it makes the noise, is when the engine is cold. Like I said it runs great but I just can't have a jake brake under my hood. Thoughts anyone?

    • @criznitty
      @criznitty 2 года назад +1

      The noise only lasts 30-60 seconds because it’s forcing air into the catalytic converters to accelerate heating them up for complete combustion. If you restart the engine while hot, it doesn’t run the pump. The plastic impeller breaks inside the pump, the pieces can travel down the diverter valve down to the check valves. The noise I heard was a shop vac sound for about a minute and it went away. I got a P1441, P1444 and P2440. If you don’t have any codes, you may have pieces in the pump but not blocking any of the valves downstream.
      Upon removal of the pump, the discharge side broke off and I could see the damage to the impeller, confirming that the pump needed replacement. I applied 12v to the diverter and confirmed it’s operation. Ordered my parts online from Norm Reeves Toyota in San Diego.
