2006 Pontiac GTO LQ9 swapped
My name is Derrick (CanZ8ter Custumz) and I've been into drag racing all of my life. I purchased my 2006 GTO from a guy in West Virginia, the car didn't have an engine, transmission, front bumper, computer or wiring. I bought an LQ9 from a 2006 Escalade, tore the engine down and rebuilt the engine with Mods to give it a little more power. My channel walks you through my build and what's currently going on with my car as well as other builds that I'm working on.

High Idle is gone and wheels are on!
In this video, I bought a rear valence panel from a parts Maverick and few other things that was needed. I also flipped the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve around to its original configuration and the high idle went away. I put a shifter cable bracket from the Mountaineer (custom) onto the Maverick to keep the shifter cable from moving so that the shifter works. The Maverick is now off the jack stands and sitting on US Mag Ridler 650 wheels.

1970 Ford Maverick 5 lug swap now has brakes!

In this video, I put a new master cylinder on the Maverick and had to make some new brake lines. The 5 lug disc swap now has functioning brakes! I also put a shifter cable on to try to get the column shifter working.

In this video I’m installing the voltage, coolant, and oil pressure gauges. I also installed the 5 lug swap and it was super easy and came with everything I needed. I bought this kit from Mike Garcia who makes 5 lug swap kits and disc brake kits for a variety of vehicles. Replacing the Brake Booster
Просмотров 35Месяц назад
In this video, I'm replacing the Brake Booster on my 1985 GMC Caballero. The brakes were extremely hard to press and the engine would try to die when coming to a stop. This process should basically be the same on the majority of G Bodies.

Hello, "CanZ8ter Custumz" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channnel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or email?
Thanks for showing this to save me the trouble of going through exactly what you did and revealing some of the little bumps and mysteries you run into.
👍
How much longer are these compared to the stock studs?
@@bigd33103 maybe 1” or 1 1/2” longer. These are 3 1/4” inches long, not sure how long the stockers are.
Yoo we gotta link up i got a g8 now myself lol
@@koonsworld1110 I know, I passed by you a few weeks ago in Blythewood by Doko Park.
Where did you get the you put in the El Camino?
@@henrylittle1132 seats? If so they came out of an Audi, I think it was an A5. They don’t fit without making custom brackets so I wouldn’t recommend using them unless you are prepared to do a lot of work.
That motor sounds real healthy looking forward to seeing that maverick running
Nice job
Use a multimeter to test the voltage probably under 12 volts
Good to see the goat getting some love.
@@goat_life254 yes but it’s fighting not move, I think it’s happy resting, lol
@@canz8tercustumz I still believe in gremlins.

@@InfamousFishing i gotcha
Nice job filming your work in replacing the GM mounts, good logical approach. I have to remove the front differential to do mine.
Thanks! Yes, it's a lot easier on a 2wd
🤣🤣🤣 (((((🗣️ PAUSE‼️)))))🤣🤣🤣 She sounds really good!! 🎶🏁🎶🏁🎶🏁🎶
I had to put that in there, somebody was thinking of it, lol 😂
YESSSSIRRRR LETS GOOOOO!!!🏁💪🏾🏁💪🏾🏁 I finally got my fiancés 79 out of the garage-she’s been down since 2008. Felt good!!
Good job! Im in the middle of building my 408 with the Summit pro Ls crank / piston combo also. What's the color of the red paint? I like the brightness of it.. Doing an LS swap on a 71 cutlass.. Can't wait..💪. Keep the videos coming i wanna see the end results..
It’s gloss red, I used white primer which made the red a lot brighter. Thanks for watching.
If it’s not one thing….. but hey, keeps you busy and entertained. Can’t wait to see that one done, I like it.
Junk yards are always fun.
@@goat_life254 not as fun as the race track! After seeing your video, I started working on my GTO, I need to get it on the track.
@@canz8tercustumz I’d like to see that for sure. The track was humbling to me, I need to learn to launch a manual car…. And much more power. She’s so slow 🤔
Good video i think mine is bad on my driver side on my g8. May be bent also and has play in it
when driving your g8 going bout 50? does ur steering wheel shake? im having the same issue right now
@@markPurcella yeah smh
Yes, but it could be your tires need balancing so I would check that first before throwing parts at the suspension
@@canz8tercustumz I balanced both mine and wheel still shakes
@@pacspeed8041 mine shakes between 45-50 mph and it stops. The tie rod replacement didn’t help but I only changed it because it was bent.
The you for this video! I have a 1970 Maverick and I am trying to find out what type of rear end I can use. I was going to try to put in a 9” but I am fine with a 8.8. Your video timing couldn’t have been better! What is the measurements on the original Maverick? And What year Mountaineer was that one? Any help would be appreciated! The rear end that I have is a quick change rear end and I don’t need that. I plan on putting a 408 in mine. Thanks again!
@@artherrightus7399 I’m currently working on the rearend. Checkout tomorrow’s video to see the process of narrowing the rear the absolute cheapest way. The original Maverick rearend is about 56.5” long and the 2001 Mercury Mountaineer rearend is 59.5”. I cut about 3 inches off of the long side which basically gives you 2 short sides.
@@canz8tercustumz Thank you so much for the quick response! I am pretty new to this so I am scrambling for information. I will be watching the next video for sure! Thanks again!!!
Subscribed. Did a very similar build in a 78 Pinto. Explorer efi system, Explorer 8.8, only I left the rear end factory length. Rear wheels stick out noticeably but it looks good.
@@Pintostang Great! There's not a lot of info on people using the entire EFI system. Most people I've encountered changed to a carb.
Awesome video! Thank you as this helps with the replacement of my window regulator. You’re the man!
Sounds good 😊
Was this your first engine built?
No, the engine in my GTO was the very first LS engine build.
@@canz8tercustumz did you install this engine yet I couldn't find a video if you did?
@@Alex0992 no, still trying to find something to put it in.
Do you still have any stubs laying around ? Ik this vid is 2 years old but it’s worth a shot at asking .
Actually I do, axles . Stubs, and center section
That El Camino sounds so good!
I like the g8. That maverick though 🤢🤮😄
Sometimes a guy just have to take the ugly girl……😂
@@canz8tercustumz I’ll take the pretty car over the ugly girl every time! 😂
Great information on video thanks I think my g8 has same issue my boot looks bent up like yours before you removed boot mine also needs outer tie rods I can turn my hand I don’t think mine has been replaced since stock has No grease fitting just got car ima definitely use this video to fix mine just ordered parts waiting for it get in at parts store n will get to changing it out then go ahead get alignment after is installed
Thank you for the video man, what type of oil do you recommend?
I used Royal Purple with the friction modifier.
Is this a 4x4 truck?
No it’s not, it’s 2wd
Your new one? I like.
No, I had it for about 2 years, constant problems so I sold it. I sold it with the original wheels so I bought a v6 jeep just like it and put the wheels on it so you may see that in the background of my current videos. The SRT was a flood vehicle and I kept having issues with it going into limp mode. It was at the Chrysler dealership more than it was in my yard, lol
@@canz8tercustumz flood vehicles look nice, but there’s just too much electronics in the newer ones that can be problematic. The elco was a good flood choice tho
I have to go with black. You know me😊
I have to admit it, the yellow gto was suppose to be my replacement for the black one but the feeling isn’t the same.
Like all fords it needs to be fixed with 🔥.
Sad she’s gone 😢
How’s the ZL1?
@@canz8tercustumz needs to be faster, other than that she is amazing.
I have a 2007 Toyota tundra 4.7 L engine and my secondary valves. Do not look like what you’re working on. I watched a lot of videos and I am confused about why yours looks different than mine. I’ve looked up my parts and they are not the same as yours if they’re both 4.7 I don’t know why mine look different. Mine are in the same place as the one you’re working on, but they don’t look the same. Can someone tell me why that??

@@Wacko394 I thought the 2007 had the 4.6L but apparently it doesn’t. They must’ve started in 2008 with the 4.6L. I didn’t know the 4.7L had the same issues.

Loosen the but and turn that wheel in a bit until straighter
Is there any way you can fix it. Those are becoming rare. That thing was fast too.
The frame rails on the front were bent. I did buy a roller and transplanted the drive train into another GTO.
