It’s delivery day! After an initial delay of nearly two weeks due to COVID-19, the 12ft x 24ft shed structure is finally being delivered. With an initial project estimate of 7-9 days, we should be smooth sailing to the finish line, right? NOT. By now I’m starting to feel a little in over my head, and because I need a return on this investment ASAP-the show must go on; behind schedule, over budget, and under-resourced.

The GOING TINY docuseries follows 25 year-old entrepreneur, Precious Price, over the course of 5 months as she works to place a 12' x 24' shed into the backyard of her South Atlanta home and converts it to a liveable, tiny house. After a few delays due to COVID, firing two sets of contractors, and completely having to demolish and re-complete finished work, she quickly realizes just how large of a feat this is.
Packed into 3 episodes, Precious takes viewers through the complete process of designing, building, and renting the tiny house to tenants. She shares total costs pertaining to materials and labor, and even gives insight into how much income the tiny house has generated thus far.

Precious Price is a Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Digital Marketing Consultant. After graduating from the Kelley School of Business with her B.S. in Marketing (2017) and M.S. in Information Systems (2018), she relocated to Atlanta, GA where she quickly created a name for herself in the business and branding space. After purchasing her first home in 2019, Precious decided to also step into the real estate market through the short-term rental platform, Airbnb. In 2020 amidst a pandemic, she managed to make over $50,000 part-time through the platform. She now has three properties in South Atlanta, and recently finished the build for a tiny home. I brought a shed like that but a little bigger and it took like a month for delivery.I had it converted to a tiny house with full size appliances, bathroom, 2 lofts. My shed was just a shell.

@@chaitreasures6528 they have different sizes and styles, and colors. Different outside coverings, and roofs. Some have side porches ,front porches, etc. You can pull it up online

First off, Thank you for sharing everything you went through, in real time. I personally learn SO much by the mistakes (I mean lessons) we learn to get to where we are going. I love that you made a plan, and stuck with it even when you had to modify things to fit your budget. Sounds responsible to me and I don't think we can teach responsibiliy easily in school or life. It shows up when we make something real - like your house! Really great. Can't wait to see what you do next. Until then I a m taking notes and when I go to build my first tiny/small house, I will document and point out the pains and gains like you have.

That is awesome that you were able to do this in South Atlanta. Most communities or cities have such restricted use of property, that something like this is only possible on unrestricted land. It is a great avenue for passive income. How much was the septic? Thanks for sharing your numbers.

With your Contracters you want to get at least three bids(estimates). Also all your contracts should be itemized in detail of all the work you are hiring them to do. You also want to see their work. They should be able to easily show you and explain everything in detail.

I live in NC. I legit have that same shed. Except mine has light brown metal siding, and it came with built in shelves. We probably got our buildings from the same place. I’m an acrylic paint pouring artist.
