OMG! We’re finally finished!
It’s now April 2021, and the tiny house is finally ready to be rented out on Airbnb. In this episode, we’re giving a complete tour of the fully-furnished tiny house and details on all of its amenities. I also sit down to share final numbers in terms of cost incurred and income generated, my annual earnings goal for Airbnb this year, and how I plan to double the $50,000 earned from 2020, in addition to the major lessons learned throughout this entire process.

The GOING TINY docuseries follows 25-year-old entrepreneur, Precious Price, over the course of 5 months as she works to place a 12' x 24' shed into the backyard of her South Atlanta home and converts it to a liveable, tiny house. After a few delays due to COVID, firing two sets of contractors, and completely having to demolish and re-complete finished work, she quickly realizes just how large of a feat this is.
Packed into 3 episodes, Precious takes viewers through the complete process of designing and building the tiny house. She shares total costs pertaining to materials and labor, and even gives insight into how she plans to recoup costs.

Precious Price is a Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Digital Marketing Consultant. After graduating from the Kelley School of Business with her B.S. in Marketing (2017) and M.S. in Information Systems (2018), she relocated to Atlanta, GA where she quickly created a name for herself in the business and branding space. After purchasing her first home in 2019, Precious decided to also step into the real estate market through the short-term rental platform, Airbnb. In 2020 amidst a pandemic, she managed to make over $50,000 part-time through the platform. She now has three properties in South Atlanta, and recently finished the build for a tiny home. I would have great concern about guests climbing a ladder? A sofa bed is good for safety. It's a fabulous space and great income, You did a marvelous job. Great luck to you and enjoy.
If that couch was a sofa bed then someone who can't or doesn't want to go up the ladder can sleep there.
Totally Agree. A day bed even. A futon. But that bedroom space....I'm 5'2" and I couldn't fit in there.
That ladder is a serious liability because all it takes is for someone to fall and sue her and she could lose all that she has worked so hard for including her own house.

Amazing🌺. I became a homeowner at 28, paid 100s of dlrs in calif. Tiny homes wasn’t so popular then. Now at 56 it finally paid off, It took a long time. I'm a Travel Nurse & I think it's a great idea to rent to us! We stay at jobs from 6 weeks to a year tops. Many of us wish for places like yours where it's just us & nobody bumping walls or making a ton of noise! I work nights, so this would be ideal! Where are you located?

From experience travel nurses enjoy having a washer and dryer on site so they can toss their dirty scrubs in the wash every day especially dive Covid.
That is the first thing I thought of when she mentioned travel nurses. This place would be perfect if she included a small washer and dryer. I worked in the medical field, so I know how important it is to have clean scrubs. Beautiful tiny home and I'm proud of this young woman.
If renting to travel nurses a definite need for a washer dryer combination unit. Having a sleeper couch is a better option for those not wanting to climb a ladder.

The only tip I have is "find" a good contractor and stick with them for your projects

We pay contractors one-third to start so they can buy materials, one-third when they are 50% complete, and the final third when they complete the job. We also check references and google them online to see reviews. Also check them on your state's case search website to see if they are criminals or they have been sued. Keep doing the most y'all!
Great advice! And yes-the first set of contractors I didn’t check until AFTER and they had an F on the BBB. So I’ve learned my lesson.
You’re going to make mistakes in business but now you know. Such a blessing seeing young blacks having a mind for business, and being an inspiration for others too do the same.
I purchase my own materials, then pay them for labor as they go and complete jobs.

You may want to add a rail to the loft. If someone should forget where they are, terribleness involving serious injury or death could happen should someone step, stumble and fall off of the loft.
Pay contractors via credit cards, that's your insurance. They act up, simply call and get a refund!

You could put a college size fridge on the counter somewhere and remove the refrigerator and put stackable washer and dryer you can use that refrigerator in another house. It is beautiful

I paid the workers as per the work they did, not half the money up front and the rest later. I found it to be less money on me, because i fully paid for the supplies and got to get cheaper prices - such as contractor packs of 10 for outlets, switches, covers, - electrical wiring# 6 and #8 in 100 ft and double pks, etc. Where one said don't buy flex pipe- they already had it- $200 for red and $200 for blue/ i could order it from homedepot for $100 for each one. I did the researching online while being on site to watch the work being done.

Excellence idea! The fridge makes a big difference. I stayed a week in a suite with a mini fridge and did not have a freezer. I like to use my crockpot and heat up frozen meals to cut vacation costs. You are on point with that. Very nice place!

I have had some of those same things happened in getting people to do work and being female, they do try to take advantage, with price and getting too personal.

Congrats to you young lady. I love your design!!! We did the same thing and it took us about 6 months as well. We went through a ton of contractors because they tried to rip us off and then would disappear before finishing work. We finally decided to frame the bathroom wall ourselves, painted, framed the windows etc which saved us about $8000.00 (RUclips University). We went the Travel nurse route with a three month minimum becuase the pay is really high and cleaning cost are minimal. Its been rented continuously for almost a year.
