Best part about shed to house living is that as kids age you can simply add another shed and boom, ya got a bedroom. Sounds crazy, but a friend of mine had one (as a teen) and it was the greatest. Honestly it's probably the reason why I went tiny living. Cheers!

Even with a shed the size of the one in this building which is 16 by 48 by the time all y'all get in there it's going to be tiny! What a great idea for your family!
Wow, SUCH A COOL PLACE! I lived in Houston for 12 years, and getting out of there an on to a beautiful piece of land was totally a shift into paradise. Really admire this family for their vision and courage!
After I retired from my regular job, I went to work part time for Home Depot. We sold the type air conditioner/heat unit you have. The paper work says you save 85% on electric power over the type that uses duct work. One reason is no heat/air temp. loss in duct work. They are very good and used all over Europe for years.
I love this family. They chose what would work for them. And we’re brave enough to share their new life with the world. Blessings from California. 💕❤️💕🙋♀️
Pls tell me you have a tornado-proof underground bunker. If not, pls build one. A tornado will utterly destroy your house. You have a lovely family. It's not too expensive: Dig a hole, concrete foundation, shipping container attached to foundation, fill dirt around it...tornado comes, go inside and lock the door. Total cost about :$2,500
You'll need a rock/tire barrier or something between the dirt and the container. The way a container is designed, it's actually fairly weak when it comes to pressure being exerted on its walls.

There's a reason why most homesteads are built illegally. Trying to do things by yourself is typically prohibited in most counties, so you have to hire expensive local contractors and abide by codes designed not for living necessities but to increase house marketability for the real estate market.

My happiest time as a child was playing with our dog , catching fish, cycling, climbing trees going for hikes and swimming with my father My miserable days were being tied to a school desk hour after interminable hour. My husband and I didn't get debt free until about 6 years ago and I'm retiring 8 years late, this month. We had it a bit easier than you, in the last move, since we had built up some equity by building our first 3 homes, then purchased a foreclosure on 8 acres. (And the kids are grown.) It is such a wonderful feeling. There was a recent news clip about how credit card companies call us dead beats because we pay the bill in full each month. That makes me happy and it annoys me because they already skim 3-4% from the vendor. I really applaud you, we wish we had done it from day one. I love your home.
I missed that and I pay my cc balance off every month and have no outstanding debt, everything I have is payed offf: house, car, & truck. Life is hard enough without paying thousands of dollars in interest to the banks. screw them and what they think they got bailed out by us the tax payer.
Brilliant! Solar panels, rain water barrels, and even the washer dryer on the covered porch....gee, sometimes you have to hang wet towels and air out blankets and rugs after shaking. Using a septic system is also excellent. Learning from mistakes is also really smart. The gradual collection of chunks of money to fund the next expensive project, also very smart. Admirable couple.
So excited to see you guys featured here! I follow your channel and have enjoyed your building videos so much! Such an inspiring story. Your house conversion reminds me so much of our small barn house. We have two lofts for our three kids, also. It's all about making your space work for your lifestyle and you guys have done that so well, and paying as you go to boot! Great job!
We did something similar in the 80s with nine children as a single mum. Shed had to be built on site and we lived in it until we built our house. So worth the sacrifices to be on your own land and grow your own food. We had much bigger acreage but similar concept. Ours was alot more basic back then. Best gift you can give to your children.
Absolutely well use of every square footage. I love how you considered the children’s needs first, it’s a beautiful home & property. I actually just got the same bed frame for my king size & sons full size bed it added so much storage space. Well done family & best wishes with all future endeavors.
I love this. Families spending time together and building together ❤️. We don't need giant homes and all the debt that comes with it. I'd put this on my property
I live in nb canada and i bought an acre of land and converted a 12x28 shed in a tiny house 2 lofts for sleep, bath and toilet and washer dryer hookup...small kitchen, living space with full size couch, 50" tv fibre op and netflix...generator when storm and/or electric failure...love this place.
@@lovelyjubbly7456 ok, so what's gonna happen if all the landlords decide to exit the rental market? Yeah maybe prices will go down insignificantly which is unlikely anyway, but will you automatically find money to purchase a house and become a homeowner? Don't think so. But guess what, you still need a place to live and those few rentals on the market will have hundreds people queueing to book years in advance while the owner is charging a healthy premium.... Think first before you comment.

Very pretty and they do also have the realization that they may have to expand as children grow such as more bathrooms so very impressed and wish them the best
Wow, what a goal, to be debt free in their 30s. This is admirable! I do not think you need to take any flak from anyone about the bathroom, or any of your choices.
You can get a black tubing system that you fill with water , on the roof. The sun passively heats it and Presto you have as much hot water as you want. You can get them with a solar panel, but I found I didn't need it. Just have to refill tubing .
Beautiful design! Two of our children are raising their families in Austin, Texas. They moved there from upstate, NY... I think they’re expanding their home gradually and only building when they have the funds. So l’m sure they probably have considered the future including having a second bathroom.
They could ad another "wing" to the house with a second shed or structure. It could include bedrooms, a third or even a 4th bath, and a room that the kids could hang out in , kind of like a rumpus room or play room. I do wonder how many more years their children will be able to go without a tv? Just watching RUclips and some documentaries on streaming services could make a basic 42" HD TV worthwhile to mount in the kids activity/ schoolroom. I know you can do some if not all on a laptop but if you have only 2 or 3 laptops, a TV could be a better option to view certain things. I do like ability to build things with few or no building codes in Texas, but I doubt I could deal with more than a few days over 100 degrees. I do not know if their part of Texas sees very many tornadoes, but that would be an issue without having a building attached to a foundation with some hurricane strapping.
@@robertb4455 Tornadoes can reach much higher pressures and wind speeds than Hurricanes. So if that's a issue then they would need a lot more than hurricane strappings. More like a underground storm shelter or bomb proof concrete and/or steel panic room. If you can afford an ICF/concrete constructed home then it can probably handle up to around 250 MPH winds. But an F-5 means up to 261-318 mph winds and it can theoretically reach an F-6 for even higher wind speeds. So take tornado proof home with a grain of salt, along with how expensive they can be and why most just build a shelter and have insurance to make rebuilding easier...
@@robertb4455 they had a tv in the living room right on wall. Saw it by the projection screen.....I was kinda confused myself cause he said no tv but it's there. Hmmmmmmmmm weird
My first time watching What an amazing family you are...and those 4 beautiful children.. You are to be admired to highest level...May the Lord bless you all.🙏🔥🙏
Nice house. However the editor failed! Transitioning from one room to another wasn't there...I was kinda lost...at one time we are watching the bedroom and boom!! we are in the bathroom. ..
there isn't any difference between a shed and a house other than how it's used.... same as pyjama pants and regular jeans... same shape, slightly different fabric, and totally interchangeable.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, these parents and their children came together and started a homestead. This is great and my best wishes to them as they WILL succeed.
I wouldn't mind having a converted shed to tiny home 1 level, would be great for Seniors and you can adapt them to ADA specs and do whatever way you want it.
I like the double faucets and wide bathroom sink. Helpful when there are more than one person wanting to wash hands. Spacious little home for their small family. I don't personally care for short lofts, but I'm sure they figured what will work for their needs. Didn't get to see the boys' loft. Cute dress. Good idea putting the laundry room on the porch.
I really think the way you have this set up for the kids and family time just your whole thought on what you have been going for here is great and the fact you ever wanted to add anything on to this place you could i dont know i feel what you have going is out standing great job guys
That was my exact suggestion. Depending where they're located, no less than $500/month/THoW for a land lease. A 5 to 10 TH community would gross $2,500 to $5,000 every month. Start with IBC totes for fresh water. Require composting toilets and filter grey water. Over time, develop services for the TH community. Dig a well for water. Build a drain field. Create a ground array for solar electricity generation. Pretty soon, $500/month/THoW becomes more like $750 to $1,000 per month, and gross income grows to between $3,750 for five units on the low-end to $10,000 for 10 units on the high-end. Rents for "park" model tiny houses on piers from sheds would be even more (requiring greater investment, of course). Any way one looks at it, they would have no problem finding tenants. The TH community would readily embrace this concept to the extent that they'd have a waiting list in short order. This is a very viable plan for a six-figure income year over year over year over year... Let me know if y'all want to pull the trigger on this concept. I have decades of experience in every trade, and have done just about everything there is to do from the foundation to the ridge. Carpentry. Plumbing. Electrical. Solar. Batteries. Composting toilets. Water filtration (both fresh and grey). You name it. I'm a single, empty-nester who's 100% mobile, self-contained and self-sufficient in my self-converted Tiny Rig!
This is cool! However having had our laundry in the garage for nearly 10 years, I couldn’t have done this. We moved it inside by the bedrooms last year and it’s such a luxury! Lol!
Most definitely it’s better for both kids and adults to live in a place where it’s in the country! We insisted on raising our four kids in the country and I feel that was the best thing for them! The only thing I’d change is I wish I could have homeschooled them because that’s where the negative influences came from.
They could add on to that shed easily, especially the porch they could turn those into bedrooms for the kids. We have a room built off our porch and it’s one of the biggest rooms in our house.
Our neighbors have the same shed design......2 stories. Inside is like a designer home. Never would you believe it from the outside. They are on 69 acres with a 5 acre lake. They are living the dream.

Absolutely gorgeous home. Your ideas are great. Thank you for sharing
Great job!
Also love the homesteading and all the animals!
You have given your children a great gift. Good on you! BRAVO
I love this!!! I would do this in a heartbeat but my husband will not! You have made your shed into a beautiful home! Way to go!!!
do you presently have a home? a lot of work and most people aren't up for it especially if your spouse would be the one to do most of the work.
Storm shelter. It isn't that much but it can save your life. Great video!
Wow! I really love this idea. Being debt-free and produce your own food is really fantastic. I salute your family on this. :)
Im excepting some money. My I family supportingto many tiny homes for the national of are , wHat do thinking building a generation and a water tank
Well done family & best wishes with all future endeavors.
the storage space was always there you just utilized it
I love this. Families spending time together and building together ❤️. We don't need giant homes and all the debt that comes with it. I'd put this on my property
What a sweet and lovely family. Your home is beautiful! I think the bathroom is just right. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Smart people Not being Debit Slaves to the banks
You can always let someone else pay your debt for you...
Very inspirational ty
I agree about the bathroom you need that❣️going debtless is smart with 5 kids. A lot of needs ahead.
I love love love this home! Great idea and I love the sound of what this family prioritises.
And I’m in my 60th and not debt free! And keep working with fear not to loose what I have worked till now! We have to make better decision and be free and happy!!!
Good job people! Very nice blouse too!
Wonderful, so much inspiration! ThankYou for these glimpses into alternative living.
Very pretty and they do also have the realization that they may have to expand as children grow such as more bathrooms so very impressed and wish them the best
our goal is to be "raising most of our food and our humans" 😂😂😂
that last part sounds so wrong if taken out of context lol.... sounds like i just wonder into a cult.
@@MetalGearMk3 and they only want to raise "most" of their humans :'D So not all of them need to make it :'D
Usadaro Rumbi 😂
I was going to comment on that.
@@MetalGearMk3 Don't downgrade what they're doing, she just coined a phrase. Cut 'em some slack.
Wow, what a goal, to be debt free in their 30s. This is admirable! I do not think you need to take any flak from anyone about the bathroom, or any of your choices.
Love this place! The colors are so appeasing! Nice storage areas! Love the idea of having extra acres! Nice job! 😁
Its so wonderful to see a young couple make such wise decisions for themselves an their family. Prayers you are Blessed continually. 😁💛🙏
Ít's not a tiny house, but re-purposing a shed as the frame for a cheap house is a great, cost effective idea.
You can get a black tubing system that you fill with water , on the roof. The sun passively heats it and Presto you have as much hot water as you want. You can get them with a solar panel, but I found I didn't need it. Just have to refill tubing .
Great job Mat and Danielle! I've watched this couple for the last four years and your synopsis was excellent.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful design! Two of our children are raising their families in Austin, Texas. They moved there from upstate, NY...
I wish I could just find a patch of grass to plant a nice shed/garage and park a used truck and small camper in it... just to visit and be near... God bless you and enjoy your beautiful life! ~ Maria
But it REALLY is NOT a shed. Maybe originally it was, but not now and really, it hasn't been for a long time. When you say it is, you are looking backwards. It is a beautiful cozy house.
Thank you Ryan for releasing a great product as this [ Check Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Most of the plans I have imagined in my mind are put down on your woodworking plans. This is more like a genius job. I love it!?
I've followed these people on their own channel. Their house really turned out nice.
Great build! Really love the rainwater system.
Super interesting! Thanks to Beau and Kelly for sharing what they’re doing 👍😁

Wow, turned out great! We are working with a similar size shed, we might have to incorporate some of your ideas!
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out backyard storage sheds plans try *WoodBlueprints. Com* Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
It's been a long time since I saw y'all. I just remember you were still checkin' into things, it was hot, and you built a bigger chicken coops 'cause you were really concerned about them.
I really glad you are doing well. I trust y'all are healthy and stayin' safe. God Bless.
Yayyy I’ve been following this family for a while and just adore their home layout!!
Phooy on all of those who would give you flack on anything that you have done!! You have done a fantastic job!!
Omg this is gorgeous, I love the bathroom sink and the kitchen island and that projector is a great idea!!!!
The bathroom is AMAZING! You did GREAT Kelly!
I wonder how those lofts are going to work once the kids get to be teenagers and grow taller than 4’.
They have 7 acres. I’m sure they can build mini homes for them if needed
My first time watching
What an amazing family you are...and those 4 beautiful children..
You are to be admired to highest level...May the Lord bless you all.🙏🔥🙏
Nice house. However the editor failed! Transitioning from one room to another wasn't there...I was kinda lost...at one time we are watching the bedroom and boom!! we are in the bathroom. ..
I love the way y'all stuck by each other side I love that house
there isn't any difference between a shed and a house other than how it's used.... same as pyjama pants and regular jeans... same shape, slightly different fabric, and totally interchangeable.
Vs. a shipping container that is requiring more modification.
I wear cool striped Jammie tops to the groceries noooo problem. Jammie bottoms only to the recycling section lol
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, these parents and their children came together and started a homestead. This is great and my best wishes to them as they WILL succeed.
whats the pandemic have to do with it?
This is brilliant!
I just love you all... You give me sooo much hope... I am Grateful... May God Continue to Shine on You All...🙂
I wouldn't mind having a converted shed to tiny home 1 level, would be great for Seniors and you can adapt them to ADA specs and do whatever way you want it.
Thanks for watching! You can check out Beau and Kelly's RUclips Channel here: ruclips.net/user/bettertogetherlife
I really think the way you have this set up for the kids and family time just your whole thought on what you have been going for here is great and the fact you ever wanted to add anything on to this place you could i dont know i feel what you have going is out standing great job guys
I commend them for doing so much, especially, not even 30....OMG!
They are so young!
Okay!
PEMG HUSTLE WOMAN LIFE sorry, debt free IN our 30s. I am 38 and Kelly is 37. 🤣🤣
Very smart ideas turning sheds into homes. Nicely done.
I was all like "oh hey, just what i wanna do!"
Then i was all like... "i already watch their channel"😂
Good they got recognition!
Finally somebody sees the value in a porch👍👍🇺🇸
Nice Job young people
Seems like they could easily make a chunk of extra money right now by renting some of their land to tiny home peeps.
Toria Rose possibly, we have considered it. 😁
Please don't rent and have neighbors. Molesters happen.
They don't have to "do it every day" to destroy a soul.
@@BetterTogetherLife please do. There's such a need and what a great idea to the person who suggested here.
@@patriciastewart2537 screening and educating your children.
Very nice transformation. I hope the children will be able to meet other kids in the neighborhood and socialize with them outside of home!
This is cool! However having had our laundry in the garage for nearly 10 years, I couldn’t have done this. We moved it inside by the bedrooms last year and it’s such a luxury! Lol!
Same here....laundry in the garage.Our house is only 1170 sq.feet. 3 bed.2 bath.ranch style. 1974 built.
Most definitely it’s better for both kids and adults to live in a place where it’s in the country! We insisted on raising our four kids in the country and I feel that was the best thing for them! The only thing I’d change is I wish I could have homeschooled them because that’s where the negative influences came from.
When your kids are teenagers, you'll be adding another shed.
They could add on to that shed easily, especially the porch they could turn those into bedrooms for the kids. We have a room built off our porch and it’s one of the biggest rooms in our house.
Exactly!
You are killing it. Congratulations!
