    Thanks Simon, I really like the Miura feel. My PRGR Data 601s are Miura forged and they feel awesome for a club made in around 2000. My Mizuno MP-54s have a similar feel, but even though the lofts are similar I get a little more distance with the PRGRs. I like these retro equipment Vlogs, especially when exotic brands are reviewed because they were so esoteric at the time they came out no one reviewed them.

    My Brother in law gave me some Miuras. I'm on 17hc and they're all over the place lol. They shape so easily but my control isn't the best. But they look great, sound great and have an amazing feel so I play them. I probably lose 3 or 4 shots a round but I don't really care. I bring my M1's out sometimes and play better but I'm never as happy after the game. When I play a good shot it's pretty well perfect. The dispersion is tiny and I can drop it onto a dime. Maybe in the long run I'll play into them. But for now they broaden my appreciation of the game - gone beyond just a good score and into a whole new sensory experience lol. So that's why I play them.

    Love the look of them irons! You should definitely keep them! I bought some srixon z965 irons the other day, my plan way to sell them on but iv ended up keeping them. I wanted to have a round with them and fell in love, so I sold my wilson c300 forged instead! I didn't think I would be able to play with blades (albeit bigger blades) they are awesome

    Thank you for another great video, Simon. Perception of value is very subjective and is often influenced by marketing information that thrives on exclusivity. It is simply another golf stick with a lot of marketing halo. I'd feel more confident heading out to the course with my set of Macgregor M675 that I've had for a few years. It's the skill and comfort level that counts. Don't worry about recouping your money because you'd make more selling these anytime you choose to. Viral marketing works!

    you make a great point on the shafts, i have a 107 mph swing with driver, but since 2011 i’ve had two drivers , 907 D2 with a stiff aldila shaft and a 909 D Comp with a Tiger woods style Martix Ozik shaft but in regular flex and i hit both very well. The regular D comp is 9.5 loft and i hit it straight and high , where the stiff D2 i hit a low draw. i use them depending on what course i’m playing.

    Nice buy - bought set of Miura PP003 - 4-gap - Nippon Modus 105 new grips - absolute mint - £220 on eBay - and then latest Miura Tours and had black Modus out in - these are like butter - like the black finish! For me 160 in nothing better - dispersion back to front unreal - great vid. Now, here’s one - our greens are fast really fast - using Odyssey XG7 BUT gone back to an old old blade Bullseye with Bridgestone BXS ball and feels like butter and you don’t have to decelerate - so next please a few old putter reviews👌👌

    I would say they are not blades, wedges are but the set is periferally weighted. Blades are not scooped out, Wilson tour blades etx, Hogan Apex. These are true blades with real lofts. Nice set, you might get 600 for them. Good format, Simon.

    • @seancook2264
      @seancook2264 4 года назад

      Adrian Cox THE SANT JORDI GOLF SOCIETY , CB501 (they are Cavity Back) and surprisingly forgiving. Head is not too small, thin top line, a little bit of offset and the weight in the back behind the sweet spot means they are very solid out of the middle. Heads are typically a little heavier than modern irons.

    • @vic_0315
      @vic_0315 3 года назад

      Miura Giken is actually the origin of the family, with potentially even better quality control and tighter error tolerance because it has always been for JDM only(Japanese Domestic Market), so any of them sold outside of Japan are technically “smuggled”... Miura Giken is the original company that Katsuhiro Miura founded, with its logo MG standing for Miura Golf. The golden Miura logo that’s known to most nowadays is actually the logo for the international market that came out later to be distinguished from Miura Giken which is for JDM only.

    Sold a set of these on ebay recently for 390. 3-PW plus two wedges. I actually found them quite easy to hit up to about 5 iron and found the spin to be decent. I'm an average golfer and was surprised how easy they were to use. Found them super consistent on distances. As a straight sell you overpriced a little but as you say its not just about that. You've got to try, got a bag, and get RUclips revenue from them. Keep up the buying and selling.
    Be careful of the time of year and prices when buying. You will be amazed of price drops out of season and you can get stuck easy with losses. We are at peak price at mo.

    Was thinking a review of the notorious Mizuno tn87 would make for an awesome vid 👍

  • @MichaelM-to4sg
    @MichaelM-to4sg Год назад

    Firstly, those are not painted black. It’s a “conversion” coating of black oxide. Quite common, for those it was likely a room temperature dipping in Copper-Selenium solution. There are other methods that require heating which would certainly have required removal from shaft, which I doubt was done here.
    A decent golfsmith/club builder could clean up and re-groove those faces. I still play CB501, more forgiving than many would think, if you’re an above average ball striker. Unlike vast majority of cavity backs, these retained a lot of material in center of blade thus they are extremely solid and consistent on most strikes. The thin soles are brilliant in the rough.
    As for resale, I’d say you’ll likely get your £ back but not make much.
    If you decide to keep them, definitely take to skilled golfsmith for face freshening. While this would likely improve resale value, I doubt sufficiently to increase profit.
    I personally like the Miura Y grind wedges but only with mods. I bore out 2 1/2” plugs in muscle approximately 5mm deep at near heel and midway between center and heel. The bulky hosel on those wedges creates CG toward heel. By removing mass from heel of stock blade and grinding some relief in sole of heel, the CG is moved to blade center making a more solid feeling club and one that I find easier to square at impact. The relieved sole also gives more versatility in opening blade for chipping, flippers and full sand shots.
    Welcome to the Miura club. Once you’ve played’em, it’s REALLY hard to consider anything else.

    During the lockdown I purchased a 4-PW set of Miura MC-501 irons that were less than 2 years old. I bought them as “aspirational” clubs that I could learn to play into, not thinking that they were actually playable for my current level (the occasional golfer). They have KBS $-Taper 130 (X-Stiff) black shafts with Lamkin Sonar Standard+ grips. They would have cost me about USD $2500 new but they were much more affordable as a used set off of eBay. While I was waiting for them to arrive I watched videos from the Miura Golf YT channel as well as the video that Erik Anders Lang made when Miura-san fitted him for his own set (also MC-501s as it turned out). What I learned was that Mr. Miura truly believes that his clubs are playable by golfers of all levels. Now maybe it’s because I learned how to play golf with a set of Palmer Deacon blades from the ‘80s (sweet spot the size of a dime and very unforgiving) but these clubs feel like an extension of my arm. They honestly feel as though they had been fitted for me. I can’t imagine ever replacing these except with another set of Miuras.

    I play miura blades and they are incredible , if you want distance consistency you would be hard pressed to do better , everyone talks about the price but callaway epic pros , pxg , and many others are just as expensive . If we were shooting a rifle at a target 1000 m you won’t hit this with a rifle under 5-10 k you won’t even get close with a rifle under 1 k . Golf is a game of distance and accuracy , you want consistent distance and minimum dispersion accuracy . You get what you pay for in everything ,

    Just found this video. Did you wind up selling the Miuras and getting your price? They are great looking, the bag looks amazing too! OOPS Just found the video of your 5 best mistakes- i see you’re going to have them refinished and make a video, then give them away with 50k subscribers. Cant wait to see how this all works out.

    Would love to know where he got them painted? I've got a set of MP62s which would look lovely with that black paint

    Yes agreed but the shafts play a huge role on whether the rest of the club will work for you. A shaft that doesn’t fit you will have a dramatic effect on your interpretation of the feel. Sure you might make adjustments to make it work for you, but it doesn’t make it better. Buying used clubs is great if you know your specs. Your reward is singular, saving money.
