Ps: I think you’ll find them more forgiving than they look. And when you flush one quite simply nothing feels like them. Glad you enjoyed them. Keep em in the bag! 👍🏼
Jesus wept! £450 bangers for the lot. That’s a win
My thoughts exactly. Sheesh, what a steal.
450: You stole them. The wedges alone would be 450 as a set. That bag is at least 300.
Thanks For Watching Guys! Hopefully more unique and rarer brands to follow 👌🔥👍
Great video
Do you want a set of 95 Recoil shafts Simon? Drop me a line if you do. 4 to SW
Congrats on 30k Man!
Haha first 100%
Simon I hope you can find a set of Epon irons to hit. They are fantastic as well. Also if you happen to stumble across an Epon “Sachi” putter on your searches let me know, I’ll take it off your hands. Happy for you and your new business. Loving the videos.
Always look forward to your videos because I feel like they’re more genuine than some other ones out there. Keep up the good work!
STUNNING!!!!!!!!
I would sell my soul before I sold those Irons and that Miura Bag would be in pride of place in my lounge so that I could gaze at it lovingly
Welcome to the Miura family! Have used Miuras for 10 years. Lovely set you have there! Amazing Price 👏
Ahhhh welcome back Simon! 🤘🏼Great vid these are class
DUUUUDE! So glad you're doing this full time now! Congrats!!
Solid authentic opinion on how to choose clubs at the end of the clip - love it thanks 🙏
We FINALLY have a youtuber who talks about and reviews Miura irons. Miura really are the cream of the crop, any serious golfer wants Miura.
Watch Skratch Golf's Adventures in Golf. EAL gets a fitting from Mr Muira himself. The irons turn up on EAL's channel when he's opening post. The look so beautiful. Enjoy both vids Adam
You are absolutely right.I do love the look of those irons, and hopefully it will be in my bag in a few days!? Great review. Thanks!
That's the most promotion of a Muira iron set I have ever seen. Great looking sticks. Thanks for the info.
Thanks Simon, I really like the Miura feel. My PRGR Data 601s are Miura forged and they feel awesome for a club made in around 2000. My Mizuno MP-54s have a similar feel, but even though the lofts are similar I get a little more distance with the PRGRs. I like these retro equipment Vlogs, especially when exotic brands are reviewed because they were so esoteric at the time they came out no one reviewed them.
They look absolutely stunning!
My Brother in law gave me some Miuras. I'm on 17hc and they're all over the place lol. They shape so easily but my control isn't the best. But they look great, sound great and have an amazing feel so I play them. I probably lose 3 or 4 shots a round but I don't really care. I bring my M1's out sometimes and play better but I'm never as happy after the game. When I play a good shot it's pretty well perfect. The dispersion is tiny and I can drop it onto a dime. Maybe in the long run I'll play into them. But for now they broaden my appreciation of the game - gone beyond just a good score and into a whole new sensory experience lol. So that's why I play them.
Love the look of them irons! You should definitely keep them! I bought some srixon z965 irons the other day, my plan way to sell them on but iv ended up keeping them. I wanted to have a round with them and fell in love, so I sold my wilson c300 forged instead! I didn't think I would be able to play with blades (albeit bigger blades) they are awesome
Love the look of them! Love black irons
Great vid. Simon, you’re the zen philosopher of golf gear nuts. Keep up the good work
Thank you for another great video, Simon. Perception of value is very subjective and is often influenced by marketing information that thrives on exclusivity. It is simply another golf stick with a lot of marketing halo. I'd feel more confident heading out to the course with my set of Macgregor M675 that I've had for a few years. It's the skill and comfort level that counts. Don't worry about recouping your money because you'd make more selling these anytime you choose to. Viral marketing works!
Great deal Simon. That bag is priceless.
you make a great point on the shafts, i have a 107 mph swing with driver, but since 2011 i’ve had two drivers , 907 D2 with a stiff aldila shaft and a 909 D Comp with a Tiger woods style Martix Ozik shaft but in regular flex and i hit both very well. The regular D comp is 9.5 loft and i hit it straight and high , where the stiff D2 i hit a low draw. i use them depending on what course i’m playing.
Lol. Simon loved ‘em. He’s fighting himself from smiling!
Great video, been missing them this week. As they so though needs must.
Bingo Simon, and this is why I have kept my 1997 Big Bertha Gold irons with graphite shafts. There is no other set I have hit better and I love the unique look of them. I won’t say I’ll never change irons, but I will say that my 97 Berthas will never be sold!
oooohhhhh You're hooked!!! I'll take the bag!!
I've got a set of the 1957 forged baby blades. Wouldn't change for anything else. Started with blades back in 1973. Have had game improvers and cavity backs between then and now. Feel, distance and at times work-a-bility. Pure quality
Hi, Simon I've been self-employed when you first start up you have no time for your self you just have to keep going. Great channel.
Yeah starting to realise that now! Enjoying it though. 💪
Simon I don’t blame you if decide to keep them, that’s awesome set, you could even try and sharpen the grooves on the wedges for more spin 👍 nice!
Miuras are great. Love my 501s
This was enough to convince me to buy a set of CB 501 irons tomorrow morning. It was like a year old sign from above.
Im liking your philosophy on golf equipment, golf should be fun and you should enjoy the equipment you play with
Nice buy - bought set of Miura PP003 - 4-gap - Nippon Modus 105 new grips - absolute mint - £220 on eBay - and then latest Miura Tours and had black Modus out in - these are like butter - like the black finish! For me 160 in nothing better - dispersion back to front unreal - great vid. Now, here’s one - our greens are fast really fast - using Odyssey XG7 BUT gone back to an old old blade Bullseye with Bridgestone BXS ball and feels like butter and you don’t have to decelerate - so next please a few old putter reviews👌👌
Great buy Simon keep them 💯
Great vlog again . Always interested in your feedback on club types and why. Keep going.
You got a great deal, they go well over $800 used just for the club. CB-501 where used by Kj Choi.
Thanks for the Miura review. Surprised to hear these were relatively affordable! I'm a sucker for the darker head as well. They look great.
You got a steal of a deal!!!
noticed they aint on ebay yet haha amazing looking clubs, keep em Simon you deserve them :D
I tried Miura and they really have some unexpected velocity off the face. Could be mental but yea dream set.
Collector's item for sure, in particular when coupled with the bag and wedges.
I think you got a great deal! 😉👍🏼
Haha 😂 thanks again.
Keep them mate .just such a nice looking iron 👌🏻
I recently bought a set of MacGregor forged PCB tourney irons that I believe were made by Miura. 😍
Had Mizuno MP-68’s for 7 years. People tried to talk me out of them constantly. The feel of a pure Japanese forged blade is addictive. I felt like Golem with the ring
I would say keep them, Simon. Having a set of bad-ass irons like that is just awesome, and if they are not going to be a detriment to your game, stick with them. Every time you pull them out, you'll love it.
That’s a steal!
that's a pretty great price. Great job
Got a set of Tom Wishon's. Look to be exact club. But that set looks the fight. Man.
using Titleist MB 714 irons and 714 CB iron combi set. Was messing about with my halfset ping eye2's.....
Ping eye 2's are now in the bag.....
450 sounds like a great deal for all that. I feel like you could definitely turn a profit if you do sell! Great video!
Don’t worry about flipping them, take the hit and keep them, especially the bag it’s class 🏌🏻♂️⛳️
Totally with you that family and earning a living is top priority. Having said that, I'll be gutted for you if someone takes them off your hands!
I would say they are not blades, wedges are but the set is periferally weighted. Blades are not scooped out, Wilson tour blades etx, Hogan Apex. These are true blades with real lofts. Nice set, you might get 600 for them. Good format, Simon.
Adrian Cox THE SANT JORDI GOLF SOCIETY , CB501 (they are Cavity Back) and surprisingly forgiving. Head is not too small, thin top line, a little bit of offset and the weight in the back behind the sweet spot means they are very solid out of the middle. Heads are typically a little heavier than modern irons.
That’s a steal for those clubs..
When everyone thinks of Miura, they think of feel. I've had 4 sets of Miura's and they are not the softest feeling club I have ever hit. They are definitely a solid feel. Quality forging though.
Was looking at a set of used Muira irons before, they are remarkable clubs and just great design. Awesome you got a set but I would keep them rather than resell them
Great video 👏👏👏👏👏
That's a steal!
You must try the baby blades.
I bought Miura Giken - Different Logo but in the Miura Family, love them - Still not giving up my Honma though
Miura Giken is actually the origin of the family, with potentially even better quality control and tighter error tolerance because it has always been for JDM only(Japanese Domestic Market), so any of them sold outside of Japan are technically “smuggled”... Miura Giken is the original company that Katsuhiro Miura founded, with its logo MG standing for Miura Golf. The golden Miura logo that’s known to most nowadays is actually the logo for the international market that came out later to be distinguished from Miura Giken which is for JDM only.
Sold a set of these on ebay recently for 390. 3-PW plus two wedges. I actually found them quite easy to hit up to about 5 iron and found the spin to be decent. I'm an average golfer and was surprised how easy they were to use. Found them super consistent on distances. As a straight sell you overpriced a little but as you say its not just about that. You've got to try, got a bag, and get RUclips revenue from them. Keep up the buying and selling.
Be careful of the time of year and prices when buying. You will be amazed of price drops out of season and you can get stuck easy with losses. We are at peak price at mo.
They look absolutely sweet as a nut. I’m 15 and play mizuno MMC but holy moly in a few years when my irons have worn out a bit I would love to have a look into these
Wow, stunning
Was thinking a review of the notorious Mizuno tn87 would make for an awesome vid 👍
Firstly, those are not painted black. It’s a “conversion” coating of black oxide. Quite common, for those it was likely a room temperature dipping in Copper-Selenium solution. There are other methods that require heating which would certainly have required removal from shaft, which I doubt was done here.
A decent golfsmith/club builder could clean up and re-groove those faces. I still play CB501, more forgiving than many would think, if you’re an above average ball striker. Unlike vast majority of cavity backs, these retained a lot of material in center of blade thus they are extremely solid and consistent on most strikes. The thin soles are brilliant in the rough.
As for resale, I’d say you’ll likely get your £ back but not make much.
If you decide to keep them, definitely take to skilled golfsmith for face freshening. While this would likely improve resale value, I doubt sufficiently to increase profit.
I personally like the Miura Y grind wedges but only with mods. I bore out 2 1/2” plugs in muscle approximately 5mm deep at near heel and midway between center and heel. The bulky hosel on those wedges creates CG toward heel. By removing mass from heel of stock blade and grinding some relief in sole of heel, the CG is moved to blade center making a more solid feeling club and one that I find easier to square at impact. The relieved sole also gives more versatility in opening blade for chipping, flippers and full sand shots.
Welcome to the Miura club. Once you’ve played’em, it’s REALLY hard to consider anything else.
You have to send these into the Golf Garage...he would love to custom finish there.
Also maybe worth looking into.. Orka claims their iron heads are made in the same factory/foundry as Miura. Worth a review?? They are gorgeous looking irons.
I’ve been playing these irons for about 4 years and there Absolutely awesome! When you hit them right! Nothing feels like a MIURA! Great video as always mate! Defo keep them in the bag! You’ll regret selling them!
Not miura 😂😂, mizuno mate
Charlie Bower you wish mate! 😂😂😂
Colin Macdonald I think you got slightly confused. The saying is nothing feels like a mizuno.
Charlie Bower
Im not greeting confused! know what the saying is mate.. but I disagree! It was banter! 🤦🏼♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Colin Macdonald u actually disagree 😂
Handy money for a set of those AND a bag thats never been seen before.
They look quality and definitely a bargain!
I’ve hit precisely 2 shots w miura blades irons. One four iron and one seven. The ball flight, the feel, the look, the weight, all the best out of any iron I’ve ever hit. I’d trade an arm and a leg for a full set
Great video! However.. 40 year old graphite reg steel irons.. 😂😂😂
Hope you make a mint, Si. 👍🏻
That's a steal. I need lefties though
Simon hold on to them at least for a while ,no rush to move them on ,they will sell at any time cheers
During the lockdown I purchased a 4-PW set of Miura MC-501 irons that were less than 2 years old. I bought them as “aspirational” clubs that I could learn to play into, not thinking that they were actually playable for my current level (the occasional golfer). They have KBS $-Taper 130 (X-Stiff) black shafts with Lamkin Sonar Standard+ grips. They would have cost me about USD $2500 new but they were much more affordable as a used set off of eBay. While I was waiting for them to arrive I watched videos from the Miura Golf YT channel as well as the video that Erik Anders Lang made when Miura-san fitted him for his own set (also MC-501s as it turned out). What I learned was that Mr. Miura truly believes that his clubs are playable by golfers of all levels. Now maybe it’s because I learned how to play golf with a set of Palmer Deacon blades from the ‘80s (sweet spot the size of a dime and very unforgiving) but these clubs feel like an extension of my arm. They honestly feel as though they had been fitted for me. I can’t imagine ever replacing these except with another set of Miuras.
Kyoei.... I believe mr Miura learned his craft there. They now forge their own irons. I'll let you google them!
Gorgeous
Well sounds like you are hooked on them, early Xmas present my be?
Great price. I would keep them.
I'm thinking about getting my titleist 710CB cerakoted any input on any pitfalls or benefits of getting them done ? Other than looks
Great video. Out of curiosity what app are you using for shot tracking with yards?
Do you have any opinions on the Ping Eye 2 irons. I've a set from 1-SW that I still actively play with as my main set. Not sure whether to sell them and get into the modern clubs, or keep them for 30 years as an antique 😂 are they of any significance?
I am a sucker for blacked out irons and I have no issue with them looking well used, that just means someone loved them.
£500 for the complete set seems a good deal to me
Grab some left handed tournament y blades next. They will definitely make you focus on being a better ball striker.
Great price.
Mine were the KJ Choi set. $5,000 USD (!!) with half going to KJ's charity. I paid $750 Canadian (430 UK pounds) for them used. Sold them for $1,000...
Even with the current exchange rate between GB and AU, they would be a good buy, but the shipping would be a killer....
Hi, thanks for sharing so do you still have them? And if so what do you still think of them?
I play miura blades and they are incredible , if you want distance consistency you would be hard pressed to do better , everyone talks about the price but callaway epic pros , pxg , and many others are just as expensive . If we were shooting a rifle at a target 1000 m you won’t hit this with a rifle under 5-10 k you won’t even get close with a rifle under 1 k . Golf is a game of distance and accuracy , you want consistent distance and minimum dispersion accuracy . You get what you pay for in everything ,
Jim Kronus in Arizona or TSG club works in Japan 🇯🇵 can restore them to showroom floor quality!!!!
Those are some SEXY irons!!! Oozes Japanese forged QUALITY!!!
KEEP THEM!!!
I had a set. They were nice but not earth-shattering. Using 1999 Hogan Apex blades currently. Better.
Quality vid can’t beat a good forging! You’re look like chewbacca with the beard
Just sold mp5 with no bag for 400 after 2 yrs so sounds like a steal
Just found this video. Did you wind up selling the Miuras and getting your price? They are great looking, the bag looks amazing too! OOPS Just found the video of your 5 best mistakes- i see you’re going to have them refinished and make a video, then give them away with 50k subscribers. Cant wait to see how this all works out.
Would love to know where he got them painted? I've got a set of MP62s which would look lovely with that black paint
Try golf irons uk, just done mine and they have come back stunning.
Why don’t you come and visit our custom fit studio? Try out Miura, Fujimoto and... Artisan wedges
These are thee best clubs on earth. ITS BASICALLY A TITLEST CLUB. TITLEST CLUB JAPAN REQUESTED THEM TO MAKE CLUB SPECS , WHICH TIGER USED . SENSEI MIUrRA MAKES THEM HIMSLEF.
Yes agreed but the shafts play a huge role on whether the rest of the club will work for you. A shaft that doesn’t fit you will have a dramatic effect on your interpretation of the feel. Sure you might make adjustments to make it work for you, but it doesn’t make it better. Buying used clubs is great if you know your specs. Your reward is singular, saving money.
