Those are absolutely beautiful irons!! I have a set of the original Titleist T100S irons, which are awesome, however, I prefer my Callaway X Forged CB irons, they look better, feel better and are slightly more forgiving in my mind (which is a mysterious place lol). I don’t think you could go wrong with either though.

I’ve got the original t100 irons and a Taylormade stealth 2 driver. Had the irons for a while now and I’m really enjoying them. Plenty forgiving enough but make me feel like a player. Got the stealth 2 a couple days ago and same story really.

As an old pga professional l used to get paid to play a brand of club, now at 70 years old and having to pay for my own clubs l choose to play titliest. I fully admit they are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Quality precision equipment can only help your game provided you are custom fitted.

I’m not loyal to any brand of club/iron…I usually get fitted and go with works best…was fitted a couple of years ago for the Titleist T100S combo’d with the T200 irons in the 5/6. In the sim, great. On the course, the turf interaction with the T200s was terrible with my swing. Wound up selling them and getting a set of MP221/223 combo set and love them, though the 221s are traditionally lofted. I’ve had both hips replaced, shoulder surgery, and back issues, but hit the ball pretty solidly and consistently, so want a smallish head that can give some help (like the T100S) BUT without giving up feel. So, got fitted for the T150s and voila! BINGO! Great feeling, heads not too big (though prefer the 100S size to be honest), and they do give a little extra distance and height over what I was getting with my T100S irons (note: could be the shafts…I had Project X LZ 6.0 in my T100S and have AMT Black S300 in my T150s). I’m not a long hitter by any stretch…PW usually my 115 club with traditional lofts like the 221s….with the T150s, 130 all day long…I did blend them again with the T200 in the 5/6 (new T200) and have the same turf interaction problem…so, as a test, subbed in my 5/6 iron from my MP223s that blend with my 221s and it’s perfect now! Can’t say enough about the performance and feel of the T150s…unless I hit them side by side with my 221s, it’s not a noticeable difference in feel, and even when hit side by side, it’s negligible if anything…

I just have been fitted with exactly the same combo of t150 and i3 t200. Thanks for your review and I was exactly looking for a review on the turf interaction which is for me one of the big qualities of this set. This video is so accurate.
Can’t wait to have my new set !

Great set of irons. I play the T100S at 15 hc. More forgiving than they look. I hit the t150 a couple weeks ago. I didn’t see enough difference to make me want to change

    • @petegalindez9961
      @petegalindez9961 9 месяцев назад +1

I owned the T100S and now have the T150s…you’re correct. There isn’t much difference in overall performance. If anything, I do notice the T150s are a tad more forgiving with the almost unnoticeable larger head, and for me, they do fly a bit higher, which I need, but that could be due to shafts. I had Project X LZ 6.0 shafts in my T100S irons and have AMT Black S300 shafts in my T150s now which is a lighter shaft…IMHO, the T100S irons are a better looking iron, but I still love my T150s…enjoy and don’t regret not “upgrading.”

@@petegalindez9961 I play kbs c taper light stiff. My previous irons were px rifle 6.0. I wouldn’t mind going back to the rifles in the 150. I hit a high ball which is great most of the time. If I kept it lower I’d gain a few yards. But it is a great iron I have to say. Had a good round today. Irons didn’t cost me a stroke all day.

If you buy a new or like new set of clubs they will last you 10+ years. The problem is people let themselves or other people convince them they need to replace their clubs every few years. Unless you are a pro or you practice hours and hours everyday, the only clubs needing replaced every few years is your wedges. Plus people really need to utilize the second hand market more. There are some amazing deals on like new and lightly used clubs all over the place if you do some research. Just be careful and stay away from unreputable retailers. Im not a fanboy for any one brand but I do have my favorites. Im sure takomo, wilson, and tour edge all make fine clubs but I will stick to the brands I have played and loved for 25 years, such as Titleist, Taylormade, and Callaway. Mizuno irons are great, and ping fairways and hybrids are really good as well. The best thing about equipment now is that everyone see's and feels clubs differently, and with all of the brands making really good clubs everyone can find the right sticks for their own game. It fascinates me to see what clubs people have in their bags and why.

I like Titleist clubs, have a few single irons I mess around with, but my favorite Titleist irons go way back...the original DCI blacks. So understated, no frills, and they perform great. That's Titleist at their best,,, clean player's designs. Like this T150 here. The 150 merely replaces the T100s, that's it. Slightly stronger lofts than the T100. They should look the same otherwise.
Titleist, Taylormade, Ping, Callaway, Cobra, etc..etc, Srixon, they're all expensive, great products but very pricey. I'm more curious about MacGregor and Ram, Adams is back. Maltby's TS line of irons are the underrated gems from what I've read/heard.

So you would test drive a Toyota then order those options on a Chevy.
      Good thinking 🙄

@@seanpeacock5595 when I go for a fitting I go to determine correct lie angle and shaft specs. I am willing to pay the person doing the fitting what he wants for his services. I have several friends who are now playing Takomo irons and are very pleased with them. The irons mentioned in today’s video are selling at the major golf distributors in our area for anywhere from $1200 to$1400 I can order a set of Takomo or Caili irons in my specs with the same weight and flex as my fitting for around $650. That’s a no brained to me.

I would think with your swing and mid handicap, the 200’s would be more in your wheelhouse.

I’ll never buy new irons again. I can wait a year and get them at least half the price, depending on the set. I just picked up a set of Cobra MIM Tours for $380. Almost brand new shape. This whole $1400 a set is a bunch of crap. I’m not doing it, no matter what.

True with most brands…Titleist irons are another story…as long as they are in good shape, they don’t drop in value too much over a few years since they don’t come out with new irons every year like Cobra, Callaway, etc…

Titleist need to make the face of their clubs last more than 6 months, rusty shit sticks just like the ap2 models. Go Tour edge or Wilson

The new Callaway irons are ugly so Callaway players are looking for new clubs other than Callaway. I am in that boat, need new irons and looking at Titleist or Taylormade.
Sometimes it baffles me what Callaway corporate is thinking. They are risking a reduced revenue cycle. 🙄

The big name brands are pointless to buy from, you can get the same performance out of cheaper sets

The T100 are great irons but beware, they flight the ball very high! so much so its difficult to control trajectory in my opinion. for some that may be great but it was too much for me so I went back to the mbs. I love Titleist irons but to compare them to Mizuno is laughable.
