True with the not a top priorty part although feel like the problem isn't what he said it's that he said it especially with his injury history since becoming an Angel especially after him saying there's too many games when he hasn't played like 50 games in those years he's been an L.A angel
Love Trout but he is wasting his whole baseball greatness on a team going nowhere fast!! Angels fans would 110% understand him leaving and wanting to win somewhere else. He’ll always be considered an Angel. In return, the organization can get prospects to hopefully build a winning team! Bryce Harper won’t have the same numbers as Trout but Harper will be remembered for his postseason bombs. Also, Roy Halladay didn’t want to leave Toronto or Blue Jays fans but knew his window was closing on his career. Blue Jays fans understood and wanted to see him succeed. Trout wanting to be with the same organization his who career is commendable but sometimes it’s just stupid.
Rendon saying that his family comes first than baseball is like his family is going thru something. He's been out of baseball because of injuries so idk why he said what he said
@@panushjo MLB is entertainment. If you don’t want to sell the illusion (assuming those guys feel similar), walk and let someone who wants to show out for the fans take the spot. Rendon needs a better inner-monologue. He said the quiet part out loud. Also, there are plenty of guys behind him who would take the spot gladly for much less pay.
Family and faith do come first. But when you’re on the field you should care, you’re part of a team, you make insane money and playing hard and showing off the gifts god gave you is a good way to honor him. This guys is just a clown.
This guy is a bum. But then again so are the Angels. I really do feel bad for Trout I wish he would put his pride aside and ask for a trade and make a real championship run with a team that has a positive moral. I hope this is a lesson to the idiots in the Angels front office. There needs to be stipulations on their big contracts to avoid losers like Rendon.
Im not defending Rendon , but I think all veteran MLB players eventually feel like its a job. What I mean is that even the best dream job can feel like a grind after awhile. BUT, Id say 99% of them still have a passion for that job. If not for themselves, then for their teammates, the city they play for, or the fans in general. Seems like Rendon just doesnt care. He made his money and just wants out. Pretty shameful. Whats with the Angels and their history of bad contracts?
He signed a contract and is acting in bad faith. He's quiet quitting because he knows he's getting paid regardless. He's acting in bad faith, and prioritizing his family over baseball is neither the issue at hand nor the problem with his behavior.
I think in the near future MLB teams will start putting some serious clauses in these contracts. You won't be able to get paid 38 million dollars a year, and you don't even play, that's just to good to be true. The future contracts will be performance based, you get paid based on how much you play, and you won't get paid during your IL stint.
That was definitely anti-climactic. He cares for his family and faith before his job. It should be like that for everyone. The problem is not with rendon, the problem is with the garbage management who 1: paid him that much. And 2: keep the team terrible
He's paying to support his family (great) while also possibly harming his kids' future by indicating minimum effort as a winning mindset (not great). My kids, I hope, have learned to exhibit their BEST EFFORT in their endeavors. There's nothing sadder than wasted time mixed with wasted potential. I guess I'm just old. I think that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
I still can't believe Anaheim gave an infielder who talent wise is on the same level as Brandon Ryan and Tyler Greene, that as well has the intelligence level of Patrick Star 38 million dollars a Year
Players care about their jobs, like most people, because that's how they provide for themselves and their families. Once they've got that lucrative, guaranteed, long-term contract, they and their families no longer have to worry about that. The result is that some players are no longer motivated to do their best. Whether they perform well or not, they will still get paid exactly the same. Rendon never would have publicly expressed his attitude about playing before he got his big contract. But now he's in a position to say that he doesn't really care because he knows that there is nothing the Angels can do about it.
dodgers fans never wanted rendone. or rendone is like the rest of us and are thinking whats the point with the angels the last decade at all. trout would have intelligent and signed with the dodgers, the only los angeles team. the angels dont even play remotely close to los angeles.
If that is "just a job", then Anthony can go and collect his 100,000 a year like the majority of the fanbase. This loser makes more money than most of us can dream of so he can at least bust his arse at his job to be as good as he can be.
I actually got into baseball the year that the Nats won the WS, and Trea Turner and Anthony Rendon were a big part of that; so much so that I decided to follow the Angels the next season because that’s where he had been traded. Needless to say I’m no longer a fan and am probably going to start following the Phillies (Turner).
As an Angels fan I am trying to console myself because we could’ve signed Stephen Strasberg. Not because he was worse but because I still am delusional enough to hope for Rendon to come back
The “No Hablo ingles” sounds like a great technique. I’m going to do the same thing to my boss.. hey bud can you start mixing concrete as I prep the work zone?? “Eh papi , Uh No Hablo ingles “ 🤔😩😩
Why should he care? He got paid now he can sit back and relax and not do anything. This is why guaranteed contracts shouldn't be a thing. Any other job on earth, you'd get fired for that type of performance/ attitude. Yet MLB players can continue to rake in millions of dollars each year performing way below their expectations.
trout just got me so fired up with that maaaaan if there’s ever a time for a crazy 1000:1 World Series underdog win it would be these Angels dude could you imagine trout finally gets justice the year right after the unicorn leaves
This sort of reminds me of Jokic, who just sees it as a job. Matter of fact Jokic doesn’t even want to win in the playoffs so he can get on vacation earlier. I honestly don’t hate his take.
the thing is teams know or should know player's work ethics when they've been in the league for a while. they know who eat sleeps and breathes baseball and who it's just a job for. when giving out hundreds of millions of dollars they should be weighing those factors.
You can literally find interviews on his wikipedia page from 2014 where he said the exact same things. He's always been like this. The only difference now is he's battling injuries, so fans want to act like he's not giving his best efforts to play. That's not the case at all.
this bum needs to leave baseball if he doesn't like it, also I'm disappointed about Trout's view about Ohtani leaving to the Dodgers. Ohtani wants to win a World Series and not be known as "the best player who never won a World Series" *Just like Trout right now*

True with the not a top priorty part although feel like the problem isn't what he said it's that he said it especially with his injury history since becoming an Angel especially after him saying there's too many games when he hasn't played like 50 games in those years he's been an L.A angel
hell nah bro he doesnt really even care about playing no more its just for the money
@@Tendoplayz444Like most of the players in baseball.
Then he should just retire if he doesn’t want it to be a priority. He’s just a little bitch
@@jdsthird don't compare Rendon with most players unlike Rendon they deserves the money and ACTUALLY play the game
Im genuinely surprised the Angels haven't just cut their losses and released him.
He's been out of baseball because of injuries so idk why he said what he said
Well...leave it to the Angels to both waste Trout's career AND pay Rendon to sit on the bench. Seems like the most Angels thing ever.
Makes me so thankful for Ronald Acuña, Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris, Matt Olson… those guys love to play, everyday
Oh really? You know that for sure? lol
Angels won’t win shit with him 😂😂😂
As a lifetime Dodger fan, I am soooooo glad that Rendon did not want the Hollywood experience.😁
Wanted that Disney in the 2020s experience instead
hollywood lifestyle hahahaha
Is so sad to see this. We (fans) would do anything to be talented enough to play MLB and this guy... Damn
This guy is hatable now
Anything except put in the work
He got paid. That was enough. Baseball did for him. Now he's mentally and emotionally checked out on a crap team
He's physically check out too 😂
@@chris42069 🤣
Angels need to DFA him and eat the money. No other team will pick him up and career is over
I think this dude straight up fakes injuries just so he won’t have to play that much and still get paid. Angels gotta cut bait now?
Another Arte Moreno success!
Ever since this man got his fat angels contract he’s been a disgrace to baseball
rendon to mlb is like to nikola jokić to nba. except jokić is actually likeable and does his job
Lifelong Angels fan here: Yup... nothing surprising. Just another Monday 😀
No problem saying his family is the biggest priority but you wonder how many other things are between family and baseball on his list
This is the one, and only one example in which I wish for the lack of job security for NFL players to be the norm for pro athletes
Rendon is why teams should always be catious of signing players who have career years in their free agent year.
Have had dudes like this in the clubhouse, I usually just stayed away from them...that's basically all you can do until one of you is traded!
Trout has NO qualms being on a losing team he resigned there. At this point Trout does not deserve pity, he deserves everything he resigned for.
I think in the near future MLB teams will start putting some serious clauses in these contracts. You won't be able to get paid 38 million dollars a year, and you don't even play, that's just to good to be true. The future contracts will be performance based, you get paid based on how much you play, and you won't get paid during your IL stint.
At this point if I were the Angels, I’d either trade him or see if he would want to defer most of his money and retire. I wouldn’t want him around.
“You can tell everything you need to know about a man based on the way he sweeps the floor”
Loved your comment
Hey old or not those are great points! Age shouldn’t matter, it’s either a good point or not, and you are right
I still can't believe Anaheim gave an infielder who talent wise is on the same level as Brandon Ryan and Tyler Greene, that as well has the intelligence level of Patrick Star
38 million dollars a Year
Players care about their jobs, like most people, because that's how they provide for themselves and their families.
The dodgers got lucky when he chose Anaheim over LA. Or maybe he knew LA fans would’ve messed him up for this
dodgers fans never wanted rendone. or rendone is like the rest of us and are thinking whats the point with the angels the last decade at all. trout would have intelligent and signed with the dodgers, the only los angeles team. the angels dont even play remotely close to los angeles.
I'm so happy he chose the angels instead of the dodgers lmao
Bro is being defensive because he’s been dogshit and can’t recover.
He’s firey enough to throw hands at randoms in Oaklan
If that is "just a job", then Anthony can go and collect his 100,000 a year like the majority of the fanbase. This loser makes more money than most of us can dream of so he can at least bust his arse at his job to be as good as he can be.
imagine if this guy wanted the hollywood lifestyle and he joined the real LA team. bullet dodged
He doesn't care about baseball, all he cares about is the money, that sweet contract he has while never really playing
Imagine having a 245 million dollar contract and not paying $20 annually for an extra 100gb google storage for your old emails.
He was totally different in DC. We LOVED his skills, and his humility. Went west and....WHA-HAPPEN?!?!
After all these years, the side view of Trout’s swing is still stunning
It’s cruel that this guy is a WS champion when countless other guys aren’t and some will never be
That he is and Trout can't even make the playoffs makes me sick
He had a great season when they won the WS. He earned it as much as anyone.
so we send Artie and Rendon out in a rowboat during a storm.... is that bad? It's raining here, swell is up, let's go-
So glad Rendon isn’t on my team
I actually got into baseball the year that the Nats won the WS, and Trea Turner and Anthony Rendon were a big part of that; so much so that I decided to follow the Angels the next season because that’s where he had been traded. Needless to say I’m no longer a fan and am probably going to start following the Phillies (Turner).
Rendon solidly established he will not be hired as a corporate spokesman after retirement.
That clip from the office is ME as an Angels fan 🙃
You cant just not play baseball and also not answer questions tony
Yes, that's a problem. He got paid for what he did in DC.
So true. The only other job this is ok is politics
trout just got me so fired up with that maaaaan if there’s ever a time for a crazy 1000:1 World Series underdog win it would be these Angels dude could you imagine trout finally gets justice the year right after the unicorn leaves
I wonder if Rendon will get booed this season. Then again he’s never on the field anyway so…
The league's leading "Please Go Away" candidate. I feel bad for Trout...who's out there hustling every night...while Rendon is asleep at the wheel.
There’s nothing wrong with looking at baseball as just a job.
However, it’s not right that you don’t care about doing your job either.
this guy once had a 10 RBI game. 10! In one game!
Guess that's why he's getting like 245,000 for each one? That's wild but still too much
yes, he did extraordinary well that day at doing his job.
That would be a good month for him now.
@@SakAttack87 Heck, the way he's going that will be half a season.
@@cody0010 🤣
Rendon and Strasberg are dead weight to their teams. Still getting paid though. Yikes 😱
This sort of reminds me of Jokic, who just sees it as a job. Matter of fact Jokic doesn’t even want to win in the playoffs so he can get on vacation earlier. I honestly don’t hate his take.
Thought of this channel as soon as I saw this on the score app
the thing is teams know or should know player's work ethics when they've been in the league for a while. they know who eat sleeps and breathes baseball and who it's just a job for.
when giving out hundreds of millions of dollars they should be weighing those factors.
Rendon's assessment appears to be accurate, and I anticipate a successful season for him this year.
With an extended amount of teams now making the playoffs, and the W.S. going into November, I do agree that 162 games is too many.
Probably a sh-tty dad also being that selfish ..feel sorry for his wife
You can literally find interviews on his wikipedia page from 2014 where he said the exact same things. He's always been like this. The only difference now is he's battling injuries, so fans want to act like he's not giving his best efforts to play. That's not the case at all.
this bum needs to leave baseball if he doesn't like it, also I'm disappointed about Trout's view about Ohtani leaving to the Dodgers.
Ohtani wants to win a World Series and not be known as "the best player who never won a World Series"
*Just like Trout right now*
