I will start by saying I am a lifelong Giants fan who was born in Oakland, CA. What I see A's fans going through right now and for the last few years brings tears to my face that are two-fold. The first is in watching the destruction that Fisher and Kuval have brought to this organization for no reason other than their own greedy gain while having no care for the organization, its fan base, or baseball as a whole. The second is in watching Oakland and its fan base rise up and say we aren't gonna be depicted as the low lives that made this happen and that everyone will remember who caused this and why Oakland is one of the most amazing fanbases in all of Baseball. Even though they aren't my team, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a topic that you've highlighted over the last year plus for a city that brought me life. To the A's fans I do and don't know, you don't deserve this and here's hoping the deal falls through and we can find some light at the end of the tunnel for a proud Bay Area franchise.

Americans would probably not attend what they would view as a "minor league" team that is still charging "major league" prices that, in some ways, have to remain fixed because of some of the hard costs. Also, American baseball fans tend to be from a wide geographical area and don't always have the connection to a particular city like UK fans do. This video and the one about the child labor camps (MLB academies) are my most recent favorites you’ve done!
I’m a Phillies fan but have been following this disaster for the past year. This whole situation makes my blood boil and also gets me emotional. There’s so much blame to go around but the fans aren’t one of them!!
Obviously, Fisher takes majority of the blame. A guy mooching off his family GAP money & holding a team/city hostage since he bought the franchise. MLB, Selig, Manfred and other franchise owners need to be accountable for allowing this deadbeat billionaire to get away with not spending on salary, increasing ticket prices, trading players for cash, moving to a small market & not having to pay a billion for relocation, will be able to collect revenue sharings from teams that actually do spend but make the McCourts sell the Dodgers. MLB also allowed this to happen to Montreal & the Expos. Lastly, the elected Oakland city officials are to blame. Most of them pretend to care but if you watch interviews, you would know that the A’s situation will blow over. They also made it nearly impossible to build the new ballpark at Howard Terminal (look at the rules, regulations and the ridiculous requirements that they were asking for when building!) If city officials really cared, there would have been at least one lawsuit against Fisher or MLB… but not even a threat of one!
Oakland is way better off as a city if there’s a Major League Baseball team. Soccer or the WNBA (some city officials have said this could be even a better solution 🤦‍♀️) won’t feel the same.
I really hope MLB comes around and sees what damage Fisher is making & makes him sell the team to someone that wants to keep the team in Oakland!!

It's actually been such a boom for the city there are videos about newly vacated arenas experiencing financial booms once their NBA/NHL tennants leave. This is why Glendale, AZ unexpectedly evicted the Arizona Coyotes; they had done the math and realized that 3 concerts generated way more revenue for the city and arena than 3 Coyotes games and there were more events that could be held in total with the NHL gone. The City of Glendale has been thrilled with the results as well. So no, the Oakland Arena won't be demolished any time soon; it's not sitting vacant collecting cobwebs, it's hosting A-list concerts and other major events, just not the NBA anymore. Tell me, what is so "special" about baseball compared to any other sport, or any other business for that matter? That's what professional sports are, you know - business. They're not in the memory making business, they're in the money making business. What's your fandom worth? Nothing. It may have sentimental value to you, but it's not worth anything to anyone else. You want warm fuzzy feelings, make your own; it's not up to a sport or team to give them to you.

Right now I would call A’s Fans the best in American sports, they truly deserve better. MLB needs to step in. John Fisher is grossly incompetent and bringing down every owner by association and having to deal with his never ending stupidity.
Also, I hope John Fisher is somehow getting the message that people realize he is an incompetent business owner and truly despised, even by other owners who are probably embarrassed.

Scott Braun hit the nail on the head too when he was speaking there. He said that Fisher is doing MLB’s dirty work. The A’s have to move in order to get other cities to pay for stadiums and upgrades. Other owners can use that threat if the A’s move. Really… this rebellion is for all fans when you look at it through that lens. If you do not care about the A’s moving then what about Arizona? Milwaukee? Kansas City? Tampa? White Sox? This is all without looking at how much this move really doesn’t make sense. For those whom pay attention to all the details.

When MLB has been extorting minor league cities to build new stadiums or lose their teams, why did you think MLB wouldn't do the same with major league cities? No one in Oakland shed a tear when they stole the A's from Kansas City. No one in Oakland shed a tear when Amarillo lost the Gold Sox because their old stadium, Potter County Memorial Stadium, didn't meet new MiLB standards. Amarillo spent 38 years in purgatory without affiliated minor league baseball until a new stadium, Hodgetown, was built... Go Soddies! Nor was Amarillo the only victim...

As someone who has lived in Oakland most of their life and The East Bay their whole life, the stripping of all of our teams is utterly devastating. Im a huge raiders fan and the move to vegas is still painful, and with the As moving its sort of kicking somebody when they are down. Im not even a baseball fan at all, but oakland sports is still something near and dear to me.
It goes hand in hand with how the Tech industry completely took over the bay area and it economy, only to leave to pillage another area like austin. People will blame a lot of things (political parties, police funding, etc etc) the main issue with the Bay rn is that the people in charge of anything in the Bay dont care about the community and culture. No matter how much money or policies our local government, sports org, or companies try to throw out, it will always fail if the love of the bay isnt there.

Those sports teams aren’t just silly entertainment, they actually bring economic value and development to the city. The bottom line is owners and players, throughout MLB, are disrespecting the fans. Ridiculous ticket prices. Ridiculous player salaries (come on - $20 million plus a year to hit catch or throw a ball). Over-priced concessions. Playoff games scattered all over different networks, many of which you cannot access without a cable subscription. No games broadcast on local TV - Cubs used to broadcast 150 games a year on FREE WGN broadcasts, which actually built a huge fan base throughout the Midwest - not anymore thanks to the Marquis Network. Ridiculously priced licensed apparel and souvenir crap. Players rarely signing autographs for kids at the ballpark, unless it a retired player getting paid to sit at an autograph booth. The problem with baseball isn’t that the game is too slow or boring. It is that the owners, front office management and players have totally disrespected and exploited their fans.

What a cool event! Oakland, sadly, is plagued with a lot of problems between crime and government scandals, etc. Not being familiar with the area besides one good friend who lives there and keeps me a little up-to-date, I'd ask whether most fans live in the city center or in the suburbs? If they live in surrounding areas, it's too bad they couldn't do something like the Braves did and move out of the city into the suburbs. My guess is that no city or county was going to hand them land or a financing agreement on a silver platter, though. I also wonder what their TV ratings look like. Tampa Bay, for example, has horrendous attendance at the stadium but good TV numbers that brings in quite a bit of revenue. Ironically, they're a team most people wanted to move INTO the city rather than outside of it.
