Things like this make me wonder how those people in the 20s would have reacted to these lyrics and this sort of imagery. Picture it, you're living in the 20s and you're used to love songs and maybe one every once in a while about some darker humor, And then THIS pops up. A song about a mother going insane trying to find her murdered child, with the murderer himself, an ungodly shade of purple, WINKING at you with a smirk the length of his entire face. Reactions would've been... Interesting, to say the least.

@@erikcooldude8589 I mean, they were close enough. Big band with a heavy focus on vocalists didn't become popular until the 40s or so. 20s-30s was just big band on its own. Like Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, etc.
