i honestly thought that it was just a trap that was put up to stop thieves and i though that the thief had the intentions to sell it for money and they just had no choice but to throw the bomb in the air because any other way would have foiled the escape!

I love how the bomb timer is video accurate. Such good attention to detail in this short! I love how the scenes have such fluidity and continuity between them. I would love to see a reanimated or a MAP of this someday!

Despite being completely silent, this has some of the most fun and zany personalities of any piece of animation I've seen on RUclips in a long while. None of the facial expressions are overdone or exaggerated, but they still convey emotions perfectly. It maybe cuts a bit too frequently from scene to scene to the point it's hard to follow it, but that's honestly the fast-paced action of it all, so I can excuse that. Otherwise, basically perfect. We don't deserve pieces of animation this good for free, and yet here we are.

This animation gives Lupin vibes. And i absolutely love it! Also when the diamond is revealed to be a fake on the bridge, the time is the same as the time left on the animation, awesome!

Fun fact: the countdown on the bomb is actually accurate. It takes 42-43 seconds for the video to end

I remember coming across this video when it was 36 minutes old… I was 13 at the time and fascinated with animation, this video is what pushed me to try and do artwork of my own. I sadly no longer do the art style from all those years ago, I rely on sketching when I can with breaks from life…. Maybe I should try and force some time from work. Do art during my lunch instead.

I had to try
2:34 the fact that the detective immediately opens the Diamond with a slight look of fear on his face leads me to believe he planted the fake Diamond, planning to blow everyone up.
That would be an INSANE twist, I actually never noticed that, omg. The good guy already appears as a bad guy, so the actual bad guy appearing as a good guy would be a cool contrast... I guess we'll never know for sure.
No one is gonna even mention that Tia saved the whole place from a terrorist attack.

Oh my god. This animation deeply affected me. When i saw it years ago i remember being so mesmerized me and my younger sisters would rewatch it time and timw again. The Villain I appear go be was my favorite song. I was so inspired! After this, anytime i would listen to a song i would imagine a little animated music video with it.
Its been years, i don't think i can ever act on my imagination (i prefer fo draw semi realistic). But it still really inspired me. Seeing this again fills me with so much nostalgia and happiness

Ive watched this about 4 times now and I'm just now noticing all the subtle hints as to what is actually going on before Jack gets to the bridge, not to mention to lyrics. I love that kind of visual story telling. makes me wish I came across this sooner.
Fun fact the diamond is only valuable because they are artificially made more valuable because they are only let out a few 1000 at a time.
I realized 2 years later that
1: the beginning shows the diamond with the hinges.
2: the casino slot machine has 1 diamond and 2 bombs when it stops and the detective glances at it.

Brief Program Well, you wouldn’t believe the amount of people here who think that that is the characters name.
SuperSanicSpeed that’s to be expected since no one talks in the video and the video is about a person who steals diamonds. The title hints at the protagonists name being Jack in the name “Diamond Jack”, almost like this is a title given to the hero because of their past actions. It’s not a bad thing for people to think their name is Jack with only watching a video and not doing extensive research on the plot.

`I have a theory/headcanon: The cops and "detective" are the bad guys. Here is a list of evidence as well as timestamps so you can see them for yourself.
0:33 the cops and "detective" (henceforth called C and D respectively) arrive before a crime is commited.
1:00 D recognizes Diamond Jack (henceforth known as DJ)
1:58 D knows not to hold it by the top, otherwise DJ (and part of the "diamond") would fall.
2:34 when D catches the "diamond" the first thing he does is open it. As shown earlier (2:17) it's difficult to open it, yet D does, instead of giving up and thinking they won.

All of these show to me that D and C are evil, trying to destroy the city. DJ is (in my headcanon) the old Partner In Crime to D, but left him when she found out what his plan was. Once D went through with it, DJ stole the false diamond and got rid of it, saving the city.`
