You should take a look at "Night shift modeller" channel..i would say he is on a par with david, his weathering techniques are awesome, he also doesnt take himself too seriously and is quite funny, hes worth a look if you havnt seen his channel before. David is still amazing and so resourceful, I cant imagine what he will be like in another ten or twenty years! i much prefer when he talks through his vids though!
@@TheGuitarmanrh the best 2 aircraft modelers on youtube is David and scale model aircraft. Although aircrafts and tanks are different I think these are the best. (ofc this is my opinion)
As a modeler I would say that patience is the most challenging when you are developing your skills and testing different methods. Therefore from where I stand, as long as you know what you're doing every step is satisfying !
The wooden texture looks gorgeous with the gloss finish. Those decals really make for a brilliant polished wood effect. The rigging is amazing and I especially love the hammered metal effect at the front. Amazing as always!
Absolutely brilliant! I'm just freaking out with the rigging part, so much detail and care, admirable! It's always a great pleasure to watch your videos, David. Keep on doing so well! 👍🏻
Beautiful! I love how you painted the underside of the wing with the lighter iron cross, fantastic effect! Melted q tip turnbuckles OMG, you have some serious patience. Thanks for sharing!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are the Mozart of modelling. Or the Picasso. In your own league and with the tasty music (not the usual nasty stuff) and good editing I get a high just watching. Magic, as plastic turns into fabric, leather, and pieces become a living whole. Love the plane. WW I fighters have always been my dream, they are so beautiful (Albatros the most). I flew in old style propeller trainers in the RAF (UK) as a youth (Flt Sgt) and always wanted to be a bird. Gorgeous work, keep it up!
Hey, easy on that swab or you'll tear through the fabric. That's what came on my mind when you applied the pigments. The fabric effect is so convincing that I forgot it's a plastic kit. This is a work of art!
That is so hard to imagine as a plastic model . This cat has got some insane skills. Even down to the upper wing have a clear varnish look with the crosses and letters shadowing through. Attention to detail and the execution, WOW!
Fantastic!!! David, you're not just another model builder, you're a world class artist!! This model is A++ museum quality!! (Trust me, I work in one...) Guess what, I have built an Albatros too!! Back in the mid 60-ies, in the days when the only option we had was an Airfix 1:72 Series 1 kit in a plastic bag... Today, modelling is a completely different story, with large scale models and all kinds of aftermarket resin and PE goodies. Can't stop myself thinking how lucky we are these days, and how this industry has developed. Thank you for sharing this build with us, David!!!
Another beautiful job! I get mesmerized by the subtle way you manipulate light and color with an airbrush! A sign of a true artist! My Mother would have been Proud!
Opět jako vždy nádherná práce a užitečné "rady", jak model nejen postavit, ale dát mu taky život. Vždycky Tvoje videa sleduji s nadšením a čerpám...díky
Utterly Perplexed. Who would, could, thumb down this vid!???? I'm just in awe - understatement. Those turnbuckles and rigging! The rib highlighting and scallop shading.
Everything I thought I knew about modeling has been thrown on its side, then flipped on its head, thank you. I learn something knew with every one of your videos.
wow, I think that's the best finished model build I've ever seen, just amazing work. My mouth was open in awe halfway through the build and never closed.
I watched this whole video in awe. What a great build! I love how you ghosted the aircraft ID and crosses on the bottom of the upper wing. Superb application of the 'wooden' decals and faux wood painting. Loved it!
I like the fact that Eduard is packaging prepainted PE instruments and stuff. That is fantastic looking PE. Just watched another by Eduard on the FW190A5/A8 with painted PE. Beautiful stuff.
A true masterpiece by a true master. WW1 planes, to me at least, are the hardest to do. And your attention to detail on this one makes it come alive. I was speachless while watching the rigging my friend, you really nailed it there. Keep up the great work! :-)
How to trick the eye with lights and darks is what I classify an Artist! My Mom knew how to do that in oils, and watercolors. Such a beautiful job giving the “real” appearance to the wings through illusion! Beautiful! I give homage to your skill, Sir!
A video that I “saved” because it was truly worth “saving”! I shall enjoy watching this again and again, a real little gem, in fact a masterpiece...👍🏻👍🏻
David, wow that was incredible model making. At each stage I'm amazed by the techniques applied and skill you used to execute them. I've never felt inclined to build a WWI bi-plane before, but after watching this I want to give one a go! Thank you for letting us be party to such inspirational work.
I like the details on the wing of the1/48 Albatros D111 as if you can see though the fabric of the wing of the symbols underneath. Thanks David, another great build.
I know there are a lot of talented model builders out there. But you my friend are at the top. It boggles my mind that someone could give you a thumbs down. Id like to see their talent shown here. Keep up the good work.
For once, my friend, I can give you advice ! I've used a sponge to get my decals to look painted on. I use a sponge from a figure. You simply give your setting solution time to work a bit and press straight down on the surface then straight back up. Love your videos !!! I just love those old bi-planes but I've never been able to get the rigging just right. Not that I don't know how, it's just I don't do it enough to get comfortable doing it. Besides watching you is just as much fun plus I don't have to look for a place to put it once it's done !
I am speechless! The amount of detail that went into this model is amazing. You Sir are such an artist! Keep up the good work. I cant wait to see what you do next.
That one really turned out, awesome. Love the tips for painting wood and the rigging turnbuckles. I love how you painted the shadow of the markings, beneath the top wing. Truly amazing. I may have to attempt one of these kits. Thank you for sharing.
He is a professional modeler, and if you watch all of his excellent builds, I've noticed that the ones he sets to music are not quite as good as the ones where he tells us step by step what he is doing, I think he enjoys those ones more, just my own observation after watching all of his videos! Still his worse ever model is a million times better than I could ever do!
So, it's amazing how you manage to work with 0.03mm rigging. But build a tube of 0.06mm diameter out of a ear stick... there isn't a word in English to describe that ( maybe in German haha). This is crazy, the way you make simple the hardest things. Wunderschön work!
Absolutely brilliant... I made loads of models as a kid and even had a RAF airfield with personnel and hangars, but the details in these models are amazing
Absolutely beautiful job, love the wood effect you get with oils. I've got a 1/48 Roland D vi to make and this has given me inspiration to try some of your methods. Many thanks 👍
Its really great how far you have come since you first started making videos! An awsome job on the albatross, one of the better i have ever seen. One neat trick that i use when working with tape/friskfilm mask, is that once i cut out the mask, i put a second layer of tape over it (low tac) to use as a reverse backing film for the mask, apply the mask to the model, and then i peal the extra "backing film" off. That way i don't have to fiddle around trying to get the original shape of the mask!
I’ve been watching your videos non-stop for a few days now. Not only are you an exceptional craftsman with these models, your videos are excellently edited also! You take what is undoubtably a long and laborious task and make it look graceful. Cheers man, excellent work. PS I love the Albatross, you should do more WW1 planes
You are the undisputed god of all plastic modelers on RUclips. I can not put into words how much of a great job you did with this. Just wow!

The amount of work, attention to detail and patience is outstanding. What a model love these Great War airplanes.❤
I neither have your patience or your skill Sir, and this is why I'm thankful for these videos of yours. Truly inspires one to be better.

That see-through effect with the cross on the top wing, omg!!
The rigging sequence blew my mind.
The rigging cranks the insanity level right up.
That cotton swob part completely broke my brain, how did you do that!
