Love to see another modeler producing great models and great videos! Really well shot and produced, and the voiceover is helpfully instructive. You’ve done a great job with this kit and I look forward to your final installment!
Thanks so much for your feedback, Brian. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video since I tried really hard to improve the video and audio quality over the first three vids.
Well, I have to say that this build is beautiful. I would really hope that my kit of this aircraft will look a little like what you have done here. Your work is very detailed and seems to portray the aircraft with a very realistic look. I love your work on this kit. You have given me the desire to try my kit. Thank you very much.
Thank you Lynn. It's great to hear that you could take a few things from my build video. I hope you will enjoy the CSM Nieuport as much as I did. All the best!
Thanks Sean! And yes, Wingnut Wings for some reason had no love for French aircraft but Copper State Models perfectly filled that gap (+ the gap that WNW left in the market :)
For some reason, WW1 French aircraft were ignored by Wingnut wings? This reason has a name. It is called French bashing. A certain propaganda remains in the Anglosaxon world that only them fought the Germans during both world wars. The truth is quite different. Just compare death toll numbers. Besides, the heart of these wars did not take place on Anglosaxon ground, which infrastructures were little affected, compared to France.
Outstanding!! Your work is super, and you do a superb effort with your voiceover descriptions. They are detailed enough to inform the viewer exactly what you are doing and why, along with good camera work showing exactly what you are describing. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to the next video and your next project.
Such great love of detail, sooooo historically informative. And also, dear Alleyman, you and "your good friend, Mr Hairdryer", are probably the funniest people I know :-)))
Great skills and very well made video, thank you for sharing! If I could manage to be half as good as you, I’d have some fantastic models. Your builds are exceptional! Peace & greetings from Australia.
The oil is a laxative and it smelled awful when burned. A fantastic book that covers WW1 fighters and pilots is Dan Hamptons Lord's of the sky...excellent book, the WW1 section is almost half the book.
Hi Steve, thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I built the Halberstadt already prior to my RUclips time. I have some photos on my Instagram though and a quite detailed build blog on a forum (it's in German though). If it's interesting for you I can send you a link.
Such a lovely build. An excellent example on the understated use of oils and their application. As for a suggestion for your next build, how about CSM cauldron G3, I bet you have one in your stash!
One thing I used to do was upload as unlisted until processing was complete. The time of processing is very inconsistent on the youtube end. I'll be rewatching in the week anyway for HD goodness
Hey guys, I'm currently planning on my next model project. If there's any WW1 subject you'd really love to see - airplane, armor or ship - let me know in the comments!
you sir, must have the patience of a saint with all that ringing and the fiddley turn buckles, it really shows well in the finished model as well, it's absolutely stunning! For the next subject why not mix it up a bit but within the same ballpark? maybe a 'pusher' type aircraft like the Airco DH2 or the Vickers FB5 if the kits actually exist that is, I'm not too sure...
Rotary engines slung caster oil all over the belly and lower surface of the wing. And yes it cam loosen you up. old rhinebeck aerodrome in up state NY has WW1 aircraft they fly in a vaudvill era air show. You can see Fokkers Sopwiths Nieuports albatrosses. Most with original engines.
Hi Richard, no worries the shroud is around the barrel. There are two "barrel-like" extensions coming from the cooling jacket (the lower one being the barrel itself). You can see it quite clearly in the second part of the video series when I am painting the gun.
It depends a bit on what you are using as rigging material. In general, you want to choose a diameter as small as possible but that let's you thread through your rigging.
@@TheAlleyman I have EZ line but I do worry it won't be stiff enough to pass through. Amazing build BTW. I'll definitely be watching this series a few times over.
@@justasuggestion8216 thanks, tbh I'm not sure I would go for turnbuckles in 1/48 as you easily fall out of scale (even in 1/32 it's a critical subject).
very nice job i like you making CCP models kits the final model is super ,if you want my opinion about your videos you need to buy a nice lighting so are more bright ...again nothing that important but i think will be better !
Phew, to be honest I have a ship Modell started but it became a shelf queen pretty fast. I'll see to finish that episode one day but it might take a while.
Well done. Fantastic dialogue. A pleasure to listen to.
Bravo, great work man, that silver scheme is glorious and the weathering really ties it together. I need to get me some more oil colours 😆
Thank you, one can never have enough oil colors even though the engine grease is good for tons of stuff

Is it even possible to learn too much about aluminum paints?? Another fascinating video.
Thanks again! Not sure about aluminum paint, during the build I was pretty fed up with it but now I think I agree that there's never too much
I subscribed to Alleyman after you recent introduced us to him with his last Neuport video. Thanks for the introduction. Alleman has a great channel!
Thanks man, your support is well appreciated
Absolutely loved it, done great tips, thank you xx
Thanks a lot glad you liked it
Amazing work and detail. However, the ‘handle’ you mention on the fuselage is a footwell for pilot cockpit access.
I am really loving your videos and builds. =)
Brilliantly executed. I'm really looking forward to seeing this Nieuport with the promised pilot figure. Well done!!!
Thanks Mark, I'm hanging in on the pilot and the base!.
This is excellent, some great tips... Ive subscribed so will be looking out for more. Thanks
Thanks a lot! My upload schedule is as irregular as it gets but I will push out some new content eventually
Your videos are really great, and (In my option) WWI is the best subject for scale models! can't wait to see what comes next!
Thanks so much for your positive feedback! I'm currently in some kind of summer break but will be back soon :)

Incredible work on this beautiful model of an often overlooked subject like WW1 French aircraft which were for some reason ignored by Wingnut wings

Absolutely brilliant! Turned out beautifully
Thanks mate, well appreciated!
That turned out so amazing! Great video you make them really interesting. End model/reveal is excellent - cheers!
Thanks a lot John. Glad you enjoyed it, cheers to you as well !
Wonderful 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 🤗

Need to add that to my Amazon stash :)
Great detailing 🙂

Wow. Beautiful!
Thanks Peter 😊
Great work
Thank you! Cheers!
Love your channel man! More people should cover ww1!👍
Thanks man, yes WW1 definitely deserves some more love!
Like you showed, WW1 planes are one of the most demanding model types!
Such a lovely build. An excellent example on the understated use of oils and their application. As for a suggestion for your next build, how about CSM cauldron G3, I bet you have one in your stash!
You bet right, David :) I will definitely build it and do a video in the near future.
I second the G3. I have one and it looks amazing. Can't get round to it just yet tho
I was planning to squeeze in something non-aircraft first to detox a bit from rigging but then again the kit seems to be really exceptional....
@@TheAlleyman I understand that. It's pretty much 100% rigging. Shame the fahrpanzer isn't out yet. That would be amazing to see
@@lpjmodels yes this one looks really surreal. They've been adding so much cool stuff to their catalog lately
First time on your channel.Amazing build!
Thanks Judith, hope to see you back for the upcoming videos!

Hey guys, I'm currently planning on my next model project. If there's any WW1 subject you'd really love to see - airplane, armor or ship - let me know in the comments!
I love all vehicles however, a ship or sub would be great!👍
@@Andrew-se4tg noted :) Between sub and ship I'm leaning more towards the latter because I only have one WW1 sub and it's huuuuge 😅
@@TheAlleyman oh yeah, das werk u9 I think...👍
@@Andrew-se4tg yes the choice is quite limited 😅 I will build it one day though.
Castor beans oil was indeed both a laxative (grandmother's remedy) and a lubricant for engines in the early 20th century
Yes, it's super interesting. On another note, I hope one day I will be mature enough to not make jokes about this
@@TheAlleyman I forgot to mention that this oil is still used for 2 strokes racing engines, RC models engines etc..
I like the laxative fact 🤣
I'm not sure if it's really true. With respect to the pilots I somehow hope it's just a myth...
really nice series of videos ! hope you get more subscribers fast and post more videos
Thanks Francis! I can't influence the subscriber part but I will definitely post more videos :)
I love WW1 aircraft, but the rigging always puts me off.
Give it a try with elastic strings and without turnbuckles. It's more convenient and looks great as well
Excellent work! Have you tried the WNW Salmson 2A2?
Thanks, Walter. I still have a couple of WNW kits but unfortunately the Salmson is not amongst them. Did you build it?

Thanks a lot Simon, ironically outside of modelling I'm rather impatient.
I think that the metalpart in the lower section below the cockpit is a fotstep, not a handle for groundcrew.
That would make quite a lot of sense!
@@TheAlleyman to be able to climb into the aircraft. Anyway beautiful build You make!
@@01boian thanks :)
That was greaat
Thank you
You're using Gaspatch 1/48 Turnbuckles?
Yes the 1/32 are too big in my opinion

Did you put matt varnish on rest on the plane before you start weathering?
Mostly semi-Matt to preserve the sheen of the silver dope. I only used matt varnish on the roundels.
I'm especially interested in WW1. I wish there were more artillery models.
Noted 😉 I have two artillery guns in my stash. Thanks for your feedback
You've got the barrel on the machine gun at the top, its supposed to be at the bottom... That is why the blast shroud is at the bottom. 8:40
Hi Richard, no worries the shroud is around the barrel. There are two "barrel-like" extensions coming from the cooling jacket (the lower one being the barrel itself). You can see it quite clearly in the second part of the video series when I am painting the gun.
Anyone suggest what size brass tubing to use on 1/48 aircraft rigging?
