Yes, of course the hair on your face is there for a reason, but so is the hair on your legs, armpits, and pubic area and guess what, a lot of people get rid of it anyway and keep going with their life, it's not a big deal🥴
Flo, you are correct .... no big deal if you get hair legs or armpits, however it is detrimental for a woman to get a beard, not feminine, but we all have the right of our own opinion ... please subscribe to my channel for my upcoming weekly tutorials. Maria xx
Your face is much different. If you have an ingrown hair, for example, on your legs, or course, thick stubble? Who cares, right? But, on YOUR face girl..no.
@@AglaiaEstheticsTraining I'm not sure "detrimental" is the word you want. It means "tending to cause harm", "damaging, injurious, hurtful". Maybe "undesirable" would be a better choice for you? But, of course, that's subjective and not definitive for everyone.
Andrea Ruiz Cruz thank you ☺️ for your comments- please remember to share & subscribe so you can view my upcoming tutorials... Do you have any request?
I’m sorry but go to an experienced esthetician like myself who is highly certified in this . It is one of my most requested services, and all of my clients are thrilled with this result. It is not “shaving “ the face.
@@emilyherx2115 I really don't know anything about this procedure hence the reason I'm watching all the videos. My question is it truly looks like shaving razor to face. I'm afraid that the hair will grow back not thicker but corse. My friend tried this year's ago and had stubble. I'm not as hairy as her but she opened a can of worms by even starting.
@@AglaiaEstheticsTraining I shave because the women in my family have been doing so for a least back to my grandmother, my skin is very fair and I have very little facial hair. I'm 65. Yes that pic is me.
becca smith ... hello 👋 you look amazing! Thank you for your comment... If you have superfluous hair ... you need to do whatever you feel works for you... what I do not agree is when young girls for no reason shave their face ...
In a licensed esthetician and been dermaplaning for about a year now. Favorite treatment to do and receive hands down. Microblading is tattooing of the eyebrow just an fyi. Dermaplanning is not concidered “shaving” because it’s not just shaving the hair. You’re also removing the top layer of dead skin dirt debri and anything that contributes to ones dull uneven complexion. Yes vellus hair is one of the first lines of defense for our skin but that’s why it’s VERY important to use correct and professional grade products to protect your skin after the procedure. As you age your skin cells don’t turn over as fast and that’s why Dermaplane is a great option to rid the dead skin that doesn’t shed when it’s supposed to. Not only does it leave your skin silky smooth, it also helps with product absorption because it doesn’t have that hair blocking the skin. I’ve Dermaplane over 30 people and none of them have ever complained about it. If your skin is left red and irritated then the esthetician or skin therapist is not doing the procedure correct. The tools you buy at Sephora etc are shavers they do not rid the skin of anything other than the hair so I agree to NEVER use those. Unless one of my clients prefers me to do that than the Dermaplane (typically older clients with less elasticity in their skin. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Dermaplane although their are some who are not a good candidate for dermaplaning such a pregnant women, those with darker more terminal hairs on their face, moles, active acne, accutane users etc. I’ve taken 3 classes for dermaplane from 3 different companies and each one had a different opinion on dermaplanning but all of them had good things to say about it.
Hi so I remember when I had clear skin I did this at home with face shaver, first few times I loved it but the I started breaking out. Would getting this done professionally still break me out since it’s still doing something similar?
Question! I’m a cosmetologist and I learned in school that hair does NOT grow back thicker or darker. But I suffer from PCOS, so anytime I remove hair it grows back thick and dark. Like I had my gallbladder removed at 21 and the hair they shaved on my stomach and belly button has grown back dark and thick. Some of the hair is no longer vellus hair... I’ve gotten my face sugared before and it seems to grow back thicker with ingrowns, and I exfoliate regularly. Do you think this is something I should stay away from?
@@chandlerharrison4557 unfortunately yes, I would personally recommend staying away from dermaplanning! We know this is type of condition where it results in thicker/ darker hair, Dermaplane is not recommended if you struggle from this symptom! Good news is there is a way to get rid of that hair permanently, it’s called electrolysis! I’ve recommended this to many clients that suffer from PCOS because it’s safe and effective for you ❤️
It’s a completely marketing procedure. Cause it makes the esthetician look good. The skin is shiny and glowy. But only for 3 days. The aftermath is not pretty.
Shaving/derma-planing cuts the hair down to the level of the skin. It doesn’t pull it out of its follicle, so the follicle would still be “protected” by the remaining hair.
Jordan S Thank you for your comments, however, I still don’t believe in shaving. There are so many other ways to remove that skin. I’ve been talking to a lot of people that have been doing derma planing, and they are very very upset with the results. I just go by theory...If you’re happy and doing this procedure, keep on going. May you have a wonderful weekend. Maria
Maria Pillon There are some people like me that would like to do it just to get rid of the hair on the face,It’s black and long and unesthetic,I don’t have problems with my skin it is soft but the hair really bothers me and I was down to try the face shaving cause I don’t know what else can I do,anyway I’m just at the beginning of the video so maybe I’ll understand what you’re trying to say, most people do it for soft skin, some just wanna get rid of the black hair..
scorpiovibe Thank you for your comments. First of all, check why you’re getting hair growth, is it hormonal or hereditary? If it is hereditary, find a good technician that do you with hair growth, and electrologist is the best option, a laser technician secondary but they both help you with the hair growth. However if it is hormonal, you must go to an endocrinologist, that will check your hormone levels. If your hormone levels are high he will give you some medication to balance them. What I will do it will stop most of the hair growth, however you will still need an electrologist to destroy the hair that you have right now. I hope this helps. Please subscribe to my channel so you may see some upcoming tutorials. Thank you ☺️ Maria
Maria Pillon Thank you so much,I appreciate, you’re doing a great job,I will follow your advice and I’ll come back with updates, keep up with the good work❤️
Hi Wendy, I just don’t agree with shaving women’s faces, however, let’s agree to disagree, everybody has the right to do whatever they wanna do with your faces. Take a moment and look at my other tutorials, I have a very diverse educational videos for my subscribers. Love to have you part of this community. Maria
MARIA from AGLAIA ESTHETICS I will definitely take a look. I know so many people troll on YT, but that’s not how I roll. I hope you are open to hearing me say that if I’m halfway through a video and the “why?” still hasn’t been answered, that’s an issue.
@@divyaabalachandar1020 can you make a video too? Lol your comment makes much more sense to me and seems more relevant. Thanks for explaining! Since exfoliating once monthly should do the trick, dermablading once monthly should be ok, right? Because dermablading is essentially exfoliation with easily visible results. I do agree shaving does make the skin more rough over time and causes ingrowns and itching on the face, a lot like in the bikini area. Although, dermablading has never removed more than the peach fuzz on my face - it’s not sharp enough to remove the thick, black hairs. So Do you think waxing is indeed a better alternative to shaving/dermablading? Or do you think waxing might cause those signs of premature aging/ruin/etc. also, since it does exfoliate some as well?
I would like to thank everybody for your comments and support. I still have been continuously doing research on this procedure, and more and more individuals are coming up saying that they are frustrated with the procedure and wish that they never started it. Please share this video with others and let’s make the world a better place. Maria xx
Mr. Snail thank you for the comment... a lot of young girls are doing it because they believe these youtubers and professionals doing it... but it is not good for the skin 😔 please share this video, also subscribe so you can see my upcoming tutorials. Maria
I am a poc so laser can be harmful to my skin & I have very sensitive skin (to the point if I accidentally scratch my face. The scratch area would swell almost immediately. I forgot the name of this skin condition) but demaplaning, electrolysis, waxing & shaving is obviously wasn’t a option because of that. I have a noticeable moustache and some facial hair on my cheeks. what do you recommend?
Men have been shaving(dermablading) for years. It’s well known that men’s faces age better than women’s because of shaving and removal of the dead skin layer. I never heard of a negative effect from shaving if men are careful. And I’m a nurse
Bev B I truly appreciate your comments and your profession... however, I do not want to have the skin of a man... so, let’s agree to disagree... please view my other tutorials and we may have some common ground. ❤️ Maria
Men do not age better! It's just that the society has different expectations for their faces. And of cause their skin is different due to hormones. Not because they (some of them) shave!
There are many reasons why men seem to age better, none of which have anything to do with shaving. What's more, men are also known for being able to grow thick bristly beards. So, yeah, there are other considerations than just this obsession with looking young.
They have thicker skin that is that’s why they age better. When you shave skin or exfoliate with a scrub, it’s scrubbing away the skin barrier. Not good!
@Liars Beware I agree, it depends on what one considers youthful. Men have less fat to begin with, and when they lose even that little fat they have, their skin can look quite old especially around the eyes. But masculine bone structure may fool you to think they don't age. 😃 They do age, quite visibly, even though differently from how women age. Women are expected to look like girls to be considered youthful looking. I don't know any men who look like young boys at the age of 40. But I do know some girlish looking middle-aged women.
I knew something was off about this trend the moment I saw it. Thank you so much for explaining everything so clearly! Glad there are professionals like you on YT! ❤
Shaving the face does not remove or pull out the hair, it CUTS the hair at the surface therefore it does not expose the opening. On the other side, laser and waxing does. Also if you experience breakouts or scars after shaving, this is why it is necessary to test patch prior to shaving the entire face.
@@chickenthotpie765 Anche una esfoliazione chimica e meccanica rimuove le cellule morte, quindi se queste sono tecniche buone, allora vale anche per la rasatura viso, fatta con mano leggera, senza pressione forte, ovviamente.
I am so sorry, I do not know if your technician was good or not, but the first thing I would’ve done, is to send you to an endocrinologist to check why you had hair growth. Then from there start with electrolysis. My question to you is when she did electrolysis did you feel the pull of the hair being removed? Let me know if you have additional questions, and to find a good electrologist, because electrolysis does work. Please subscribe to my channel, it means the world to me, because it does help me to help others. Keep in touch, Maria
I have been skeptical of this beauty practise from the beginning but with the amount of advertising and beauty gurus out there promoting this, the thought popped into my head “I should try this too”. I always google and RUclips the cons of any hyped beauty trend and research at least for a few months before I even attempt it. The thing is nobody else will do that for you. Business is business and their aim is to make money at the end of the day. Having said that I really loved your video and how you explained the science and even showed a diagram of the layers of our skin! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, I genuinely hope more girls see this and give it a second thought. The beauty industry thrives in telling women that they are not pretty enough, that we need to shave, we need to dye our hair, we need long eyelashes, we need to blemish free etc. The thing is nobody is perfect and we need to embrace our beauty the way we are. #NotEpiBladingEver! Peace and Love Xxx

MARIA from AGLAIA ESTHETICS Hey Maria! Thank you for getting back to me! Unfortunately I do not have Instagram but you definitely have a new subscriber and I will share with my family 👍 I very much look forward to watching your videos! :) Xxx
I just finished a dermaplaning class and everything about it felt wrong. Uneven exfoliation, constant upkeep and exposure of tender skin to the environment. I received a service during class and my skin was red and irritated. You are right! There is a reason for the many layers of skin. Protection! My holistic skincare service is about education and quality and care of the skin and what you put on it. Let's start with that. Bravo!!! I was searching the internet for an opinion such as yours. Thank you!
I don't know how long this paragraph is gonna be but WHO CARES just wanted to add my 2 cents here and I'll leave it up to you. FIRST OF ALL this lady is giving you the most honest advice anyone in this time will NOT give you. I believe her 100% because I have seen the negative effects specifically on my cousin sister, my friend and most importantly my mother. THANK GOD FOR THAT because I will never put a razor on my face after seeing their results. Now I will say that you will be temporarily be satisfied and you may only have to shave your face once in 3 months (that's great!) BUT I'm warning you ladies... it will grow thicker and thicker the more you keep on doing it and in the long term your hair will grow like how a hair on a man's face grows after they shave. No bullshit and my mom learned her lesson and thank god for that because she saved me from that experience! It sucks man I know in this time you want to maintain your skin and look flawless but bro its NATURAL to have hair on your face and please don't disturb your beautiful natural skin by shaving just because that's what everyone is doing. I can't relate to everyone such as models who have to maintain their looks and have to shave on a regular basis so their makeup will go on flawlessly (I have a friend who does modelling). No judgement whatsoever you gotta do what you gotta do but if you have the option, PLEASE don't shave your face just because you're bored or you want to look like that flawless Instagram model or you feel insecure and the list goes on. I TRULY UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM
Thank you, with the biggest heart that you have shared your insight because of your mother and cousin sister experience. It is a big business, and that is why a lot of people are doing this tutorials and a lot of aestheticians are doing it for the sake of money. I wished more people would come forward and tell us their experience. Please subscribe and share these tutorials to others. Again thank you. Maria
Yes..I found that too..all the older ladies that shave...it comes back stubbly and 🤪you got to keep doing it..if you dark haired ..like everyday..I have down or fuzz on my face since I was a teen-ager..I pluck those few hair out..I am 55.. much kinder
little mama Thank you for your input, I do appreciate your comments. If you have just a few hairs, and you don’t want to pluck them, the best solution is electrolysis. However you need to find an experienced electrologist to do that service. Please subscribe to my channel and It’s a world to me, because it helps me to help others. Keep in touch, Maria
Thanks for your wise words, and sharing thru personal experience. As some one with dark curly hair, I have enough "other" places to keep up with hair removal . A little hair on the face is Natural ! Id rather live with the soft baby hairs then having to deal with the hassle of ongoing shaving .
Saw all of these dermaplaning and face shaving videos. Had never worried about my peach fuzz until I all the videos came out about it. Started to get paranoid about my furry appearance, so I shaved my face. Well-- it took me MONTHS to recover from the breakout it caused. And, I did it exactly using all the reccomended methods. Only shave downward, clean face, brand new special razor, etc etc. Will never do it again!
I’m an esthetician I also don’t approve it. It only looks good after the treatment and on the esthetician’s Instagram account, that’s it. You will get home and after three days your hair will grow back again.

Thank you sooo much for this video! I wish I saw it before having this done. My skin was fabulous and glowing for the first couple of days after that, allll down hill 😫 DONT DO IT LADIES! Not worth it! I know that everyone’s skin is different but that is stated in this video makes so much sense! You’re cutting any skin and the face is so sensitive

Whew, that was a close call. I just came on the whole subject tonight and shaving didn't sound to bad. I finished watching the video and then found yours and decided to watch your opposing view. You laid it all out for me with visuals and everything. I came to a speedy decision that since I can't afford the alternatives, I"ll just keep tweezing. It's tried and true, even if it is a little time consuming. Thank you for a very informative presentation and thank you for keeping me from making a mistake!

Thank you for your support ROULA you are so right, and it really saddens me. The only thing that I can do is to put out their knowledge for people to hear. Please share. Thank you Maria
I haven't done dermaplanning, almost did it but canceled. I agree that those little hair/lanugo is important to protect our skin from the outside world. It's probably as protective as nostrils to your nose?? I think it's the society that forces us to have "smooth and glowing" skin and that what makes many people spend thousands of dollars in a year to achieve this. Love yourself the way you are 🥰
wow i want to cry, ive been suffering from a reaction to dermablading since september (it is now april 2022). i have been trying to understand what is wrong and what happened. i am going to contact you directly. This gave me so much understanding.
I stumbled upon your video and I actually agree with you. I'm 62 and sometimes have to shave my upper lip very mildly but not the dermablading techniques, just a small, hand-held shaver, then I close the pores with a cool rinse followed by my DIY witch-hazel toner. Without that combination, I've noticed that shaving alone actually creates a type of hyper-pigmentation, making dark shadows, and it made me think of the "5 o'clock shadow", which men get! And when I saw this kind of technique used on other videos with no real post-care, and women were swearing by it, saying how luminescent their skin looks, I wasn't convinced. What we do to our leg/body skin is different; body skin seems tougher. But facial skin...you gotta be gentle! I still "shave" my upper lip with my combo routine, but not my entire face and I would never use a straight-edged razor! Great info...Thanks.
I'm on the mature side. I've been shaving my face once a month for years. It's not grown back faster or darker, and my skin looks great (except for wrinkles 😊). These high-priced hair removals are such a scam. 😏

I just found this video and I regret to shave my face just now because I getting scared that my hair face will growth thicker and I still student so pls give me some advice😭😭
I've been shaving my face for over a year, my skin is way smoother and I've found that moisturizer absorbs into my skin better. It also helps my foundation look less cakey as it's not sticking to the peach fuzz. I don't know if it's just coincidence, but I've been having less breakouts and my brown spots are lighter.
steph I appreciate your comments... but Shaving is not a great treatment for the skin and the reasons I mentioned in the video. I would love if you subscribed to my channel so you can see my other tutorials when I upload them. Maria xx
Maybe it‘s more of a long term negative result, like after ten years of your skin being constantly exposed to irritation and basically wounds versus one year in which we of course don‘t see too much of the skins natural decline aka aging.
I wanted to know the cons of this procedure, but I had to do my research. Hair is used to regulate temperature on the body whether it is, vellus, terminal or languo. Vellus (peach fuzz) hair is translucent and it's purpose is to regulate temperature and help sweat evaporate your body. So they do have a useful purpose, however on our legs, underarms, arms etc., they turn to terminal hair, which we shave, wax etc. In my opinion, I don't see anything wrong as the hair grows back the same way before you shaved, it's recommended only once a month or less depending on your skin. Hair that is visible is dead, so shaving it as anywhere else on your body is the same. I think try a small area and see if it works for you (if you try to DIY). But our skin is exposed to way worse things than dermaplaning. But thank you for your opinion. Side note: people who are experiencing balding face terminal hair turning to vellus hair. The mission of microneedling, scalp massages, dermal rollers etc., to stimulate growth/grow vellus (peach fuzz hair) to terminal hair.
I always appreciate peoples opinion. My opinion is shaving is not good, so I always say let’s agree to disagree. I hope you subscribe to my channel so you can see my other tutorials and intern I can reach more people to help them. Where are you from? Love to hear from you again. Maria
I too have been frustrated with more facial hair, especially since menopause. Seeing so many videos touting this face shaving method and the hype about smooth clean results, better makeup application etc. I did an attempt. Not happy results, and I've now found you and your wonderful explanations! Better late than never! I'm a new subscriber :) To share my results, I'm a 60 something who has struggled with acne all my life since adolescence. I did the antibiotics, diet changes, sun lamps, all the approaches Doctors of each decade were pushing. Finally I did the Accutane, ultimate treatment available after all else failed. VERY hard to go through, as a 30 something working woman but it did help for 20 years! Now my dermaplaning attempt did what your video predicts, it "opened" my skin to now recurring cystic blemishes again. I want to warn anyone considering this or (their young daughter) too reconsider IF they have a history of acne, do not try this!

Hi. I have dark hair and have noticeable fine hairs on my face mainly a moustache. I started dermerplanning and it’s caused me to have such dry skin. I’m some areas the skin has gone like leather and looks like I have eczema. Is there anything I can do to make my skin go back to normal? I’ve tried rich moisturisers but i haven’t really noticed a change. My makeup won’t even go on properly because it just sits in all the dry bits 😔. Will it ever go back to normal?

I did this while on vacation, where I was constantly going into the ocean. I broke out terribly afterwards, and got fungal acne!! Still working through it... Thank you for the video :)
Such a loaded opinion! Because you haven't addressed any of the benefits of dermaplaning, it sounds like you're opposed to the concept of shaving your face rather than the practice. That, and the fact that people are making a load of money from simply shaving a face (which is so true, so i'm not blaming you!). helps with hyper-pigmentation better absorbed skincare products = more effective skincare products reduces appearance of fine lines better application of make up suitable for pregnant women suitable for sensitive skin (that cant handle chemical based treatments) non abrasive to skin If you can recommend a treatment that targets all of these benefits, I am listening. I appreciate what you've said, but the only real con in your video is to protect the ostia from bacteria, which is what you're going to do regardless if you have hair on your face or not. Three more things: 1. After waxing/threading my peach fuzz in the past i'm now lasering it. The only way to remove this hair is to shave, there are no alternative methods (just wanted to shed some light on that cos someone commented about it below but you didn't respond). 2. Your info for the video is very subjective, and misinforming 3. Even though I liked your logical explanation of the word Dermaplaning, it probably comes from the word 'derma' which means skin in Greek 🤷♀️
anastasia f Thank you for your comment- you are right, I do not see many positive reasons for a woman to shave her complete face.... except temporary feeling the skin smoother and smoother foundation application however I do not support the procedure of the many reasons I mentioned in the video.

Shannon Bowen not confusing at all...If you have shaven only once most likely the skin will go back to normal...Everyone has different situations. Sometimes it’s hormonal and sometimes it’s just because a person wants to shave her face. I always try to give different options and if somebody has real terminal hair I always advise a permanent method which is either electrolysis or LASER. The reason why I sent people on Instagram is because sometimes people want more privacy. I try to give as much education as possible without offending. So let’s agree to disagree. Maria

I’m a 60+ black woman, with brown skins and black hair. On my mom’s side of the family, many of us have facial hair. We don.t have PCOS, it’s just a family trait. I have been shaving daily since my twenties. Yes I feel daily stubble and need to do it each morning, but electrolysis was painful and expensive, chemically dissolving the hair burned my skin. I stick to shaving because my skin is smooth - especially if I’m careful. The laser will not work for me because of my skin color. I was happy when I read that many other women shave.
Thank you for your comments. Silva, everybody needs to do what is right for them... if you feel that shaving is the right procedure for you please keep on doing it. What I feel very saddened, is when young girls that have no hair problem doesn’t matter what racial background they decide to shave their face from starting at the forehead all the way down to the neck and even their nails, just because the make up goes on better. Not being funny or anything but how thick is your facial hairs and are you noticing a grey mustache and beard? Okay but is there really any harm in trying this once? I don’t really have “long” or “thick” facial hair it just looks nice tbh. Kinda wanted to give it a go
I tried dermaplaning from home twice and each time my face reacted in horrible acne. I suggest going to a Professional because your skin may be sensitive and react negatively. This last time I am still recovering from the acne. The first day is great until the next morning I wake up with tiny bumps all over my face. I won't dermaplane ever again once I clear up my face.
Brenda Yeni You’re not stupid, you’re just listening to people that are giving you bad advice. But now you are aware :-) just shared this information with others so they don’t do this awful procedure. Maria ❤️
One more thing that no-one here seems to be paying attention to: the hairs on human skin are there to field sweating. The sweat slides down onto the hair shaft, where the water in the sweat evaporates and the salts are subsequently washed off when you showed or cleanse your skin. If you shave all the hairs off, the sweat (water and dirt) will stay in the pores as it has no hair shaft to function as an exit, so this mean it has nowhere to go, clogging up your skin and potentialy producing horrible skin issues. I've seen it. Some of the worst acne on the planet can be found in Asia - where they are addicted to shaving everything in sight. Apart from that, epi-blading may well damage the small, tender capillaries in your skin as the scraping motion is pretty abrasive on the skin. If this is what you want, go ahead.
Finally!!!! Thanks Maria, i feel sorry for all the girls saying they love shaving and hair does not grow darker... bla bla bla.... Im tired to advise them, but they will see in a few months by themselves... Good Job Maria and Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support, yes I do feel sorry for all the girls that get hooked in doing this awful service. Please subscribe to my channel it means the world to me, it also allows me to help people. Keep in touch and safe. Maria ❤️
Hi Maria! I just recently started following you and have been enjoying your videos very much. I am an aesthetician, and recently Microdermablading has been constantly in my face. I'm glad I watched your video as you helped me answer my own questions and I am more convince that this is really a glorified and very pricey shaving method. This procedure will simply become a service clients will regret they ever started doing!
Thank you for your kind of support. You are absolutely right, a lot of clients will be very upset with their aestheticians. I am very annoyed and upset that professional aestheticians are doing this procedure that has no benefit except for taking money from unaware clients. There’s so many other ways to peel or desquamate the skin. Again thank you so much for hanging out with me. Maria
Came too the conclusion that my peach fuzz is there for a reason so just gonna leave it be, just sweeze the odd stubborn hair if I need too. Thanks for this prospective!! Its been very helpful 😁
Thank you for your support and comments! Exactly!!!! What I would do for those few stubborn hairs get electrolysis. Let me know if you have any questions.
Carol Osnes Men have a different structure face, and because they shave daily, their face have been calloused...I would not want to have man’s facial hair ...would you?
I'm not very concerned with the shaving (been doing it for decades with no problems) but I am worried about these young girls getting injections, especially in their lips. They are repeatedly stretching the skin around their mouths (much like doctors do when they need extra skin for skin grafts) and when their collagen and elasticity starts to break down as they age, they are going to have a lot of extra skin sagging around their mouths. If they can't afford to continue getting those treatments forever, they are going to be devastated when they see what they've done to themselves. If 20 year olds are so vain they feel the need for plastic surgery, how are they going to cope when they begin aging more rapidly than their friends who didn't do that to themselves? It's really sad when you think about it.
I do agree with you with the issue of plastic surgery, and most of my tutorials are about natural treatments and how you can grow old gracefully. Going to the issue about shaving, I don’t agree in the manner that a lot of young women are encouraged to shave their faces from forehead all the way down to the deck just because it feels good and the make up is applied more evenly. Also a lot of professional aestheticians are encouraging the service mainly for their own monetary gain. However, let’s agree to disagree, that for you this is a very good treatment however for most women it’s not....Please subscribe to my channel, so you can see my upcoming tutorials, and it means a lot to me to get your support even though we do not agree in this subject. Thank you, Maria
I did this and regret a lot. I had great skin, after three weeks I got dermatitis on my cheeks. 😰 I'm looking for informations what to do and how to fix this ☹️
Hi Colleen, thank you for your question. As you know, I do not agree with shaving. The first thing I would do if you have lots of blonde hair which I called them superfluous hair, go to your doctor and he will send you to a specialist called endocrinologist. Do you need to check if you have a hormonal imbalance. If everything is OK then I most like, Your hair growth is hereditary and you need to figure out which procedure is best for you depending on the thickness of the hair. The only permanent mythology is electrolysis. If you decide to do electrolysis, because of the thick hair, I would advise you to find a professional and experienced electrologist. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Maria
Its refreshing to get a different prospective from the thousands of videos promoting shaving. My peach fuzz is there for a reason, just gonna pluck the odd crazy hair that pops up and leave the rest to do its job.
I hear what your saying about hair growing back blunt but men have been shaving their faces forever and with no side effects. Please explain how a woman shaving her face is any different than a man doing the same thing. Aside from the blunt hair once it grows back fully it's not coarse I know I shave my upper lip because it's cheaper and doesn't cause a breakout like waxing does. If what you say is true then how is it a man can have perfect skin even after shaving regularly? I don't see it as being any different than shaving your legs or underarms.
I have expressed my opinion and I find it totally unnecessary procedure for women to do. Here is a short summary: 1. Your Skin Will Feel Exfoliated There are so many better products and procedures than "shaving" 2. Your Hair Will Not Grow Back Thicker This is true .... Since you do not touch the bulb 3. You Will Get Stubble This is not feminine in my thoughts 4. Your Makeup Will Go On Easier ok this is positive 5. You Might Get Ingrown Hairs You actually will get them .... 6. You Might Experience Razor Burn This is a fact and rashes 7. You Will Need To Shave Regularly Oh dear..... If you like shaving and wish to do it for the rest of your life...that is your choice to make. However, other procedures instead of shaving or waxing is laser or electrolysis treatments. Thank you for your thoughts and comments. Maria
Mrs. Carolan Do you have additional questions for me? You can also view of my other tutorials. I’ve been in the Esthetics industry for over 40 years so I have seen a lot of things come and go. Thank you for your comments and input. Maria
Hello Jennifer, I appreciate your kind words and support. What is happening now that people have tried this treatment there are realizing that is causing more problems than benefits. From the beginning, I have never approved this type of treatment. Awful 😢
but this method is the best to clean the face from dead skin cells , and it helps with the hyperpigmentation , if it is that bad is there any other way ?
I use to have sideburn baby hair that bothered me. I began epilating and after couple of years, it stopped growing. I would never shave it. Wonderful explanation and I hope more ladies listen to you.

I have so much hair on my face I had to give up makeup because it highlighted the hair. Have been shaving for about 5 years and really wish I’d never started! I feel stuck with it now. But your presentation is making me rethink. Thank you.
karen simmons I am so sorry that you have been convinced by someone to shave your face😥 So many people are doing it because of marketing and money. And like many people like you are now feeling stuck, and they are continuing doing the procedure. What I would do if I were you, I would go to a professional electrologist, to see if they can help you and also go to a professional Endocrinologist That will help you to balance with your hormones. I hope this helps you ❤️ Maria

@@sia7001 Hello. I recommend you watch Dr. Dray's channel for all skin questions. Here is the link for a video specifically addressing bumps on the face: ruclips.net/video/g9GlhuarlRk/видео.html&ab_channel=DrDray
Thank you for the video. Laser at least from my experience doesn't work on peach fuzz or finer facial hairs. I did electrolysis on coarse chin hair. But doing electrolysis on peach fuzz cheeks will be so painful and expensive. Waxing and threading caused me irritation and breakouts and tends grow a little coarser. 😭😭 I'm pretty desperate so was looking into dermaplaning. They make it look so magical haha but I'm skeptical. I'd be so happy if you can recommend something ! 🙏🙏
Thank you for helping me decide whether to shave my face, or not. Solution? A battery operated women's groomer works best because it takes down the forest while protecting the undergrowth.
I am glad to see this informative video for people who are considering face shaving. And a video people should watch before jumping into face shaving. Why is it necessary to for some people to get so defensive and demeaning just because someone might not agree with or support what they are doing.Dont get aggressive and belittle people because they want to decide for themselves what is right for them . If you like face shaving then do it but don't jump on people for not wanting to make the same choice you did and don't attack and demean Maria for putting the information here for people before deciding to try it. I am grateful this video is here ...thank you for the information Maria it is definitely something people should watch.

MARIA from AGLAIA ESTHETICS You have a subscriber in me. I don't have any visible hair at all nothing that bothered me and unfortunately I have to admit I got sucked in and tried the shaving once and I can say I hated it and will never do it again luckily I just did it once and everything is going back to norma. I really did not like it and honestly it did not make my face smoother.I find that those little white hairs act like our own built in natural blurring for places that we might have a bit of texture on our skin like larger pores and I found when I shaved those hairs off the texture was way more pronounced almost like a spot light was shining on those spots not to mention I found it to be pretty irritating to my skin. Thank god things are going back to normal and I only did once...never ever again. My face is smooth enough with out needing to shave. And I also think it can look odd when the face looks too smooth. I had a microdermabrasion done a year or so ago ...I much preferred the results from that ...my skin looked so good and lasts way longer. Thank you again for the video...I really hope more women will watch this before jumping in on this trend.
Dawn lee Senoj Unfortunately, so many people young and old are getting sucked in. Just remember to just share the information, and hopefully will save some women from this terrible “procedure”. Thank you again, Maria 😍🥰
I knew it was a bad idea but it still did it anyway. I only did it one time will hair Follicle become more thicker just wondering? And I don’t plan on doing it again for me it was just a one time thing? Also why do other that provide this service never talk about the bad things about it and it does help with collagen correct? Also who ever said it didn’t hurt they are lying it hurts with razor cuts and burns.
Britney Nguyen thank you for your comment. If you did it only once I would not worry... Let me know if you have any requests. Also remember to subscribe so you can see my upcoming tutorials. Remember to share ❤️🙏
Thanks So much , for 7 months i shaved My face and guess what i had problems With My skin, black spots , acnee, So i stopped Now and is better, so Girls we are beuatiful the way , stop shaving the face , so Glad to SEE this video that this procedure is not good ❤️ Share for this precious information 💋
Thank you Adriana your comments and support. Absolutely we are beautiful as we are. However if you do have a superfluous amount of hair then if shaving is the only option you have, just do it in the area of the hair growth. If you have funds then I would advise Electrolysis or laser. Maria
I am so happy that I convinced you! If you have hormonal unbalance and superfluous hair and you want to look after it there’s different ways of treating your hair growth. But if you’re doing it just to shave and to remove the pictures, that is so unnecessary. I hope you enjoy my tutorial and subscribe. Maria
The reason the hair feels sharper, or coarser as it grows back is because the end has been cut, exposing the core. As hair remains on your body, the ends become thinner due to friction from clothing, bed linens, towels etc. or the age of the hair itself and thus feels softer. Hair does NOT grow back thicker, if it did, women would be shaving their heads!! It is simply a personal choice, neither good nor bad.
I have to say Chris, let’s agree to disagree about this. I’ve had so many people regretting for shaving...And I do not want to encourage anyone to shave. If somebody has superfluous hair, I need to tell them to check their hormone level and then get some things done more permanent as electrolysis or LASER. I find it disturbing is that so many young women shave their face is for no reason. But I do respect your opinion. Maria
I'm 18 I have pretty good clear glass skin without shaving when I was 16,17 I also wanna shave my face just for no reason cuz it's Trendy it make me more crazy but I always afraid tht it grow thick back so I procastinate myself but now I NVR shaved my face thanks to this video thnk almighty I found this video on ryt tym nd i guide my youngers too 😉
Hello Bin, Nice to meet you, and thank you for your support. You’re right, it is a FAD that a lot of young people are doing it just because it’s trendy and the girlfriend is doing it. My philosophy is that if you do not need hair removal then don’t do it… My concern is that when I see young individuals that do not need to remove their hair and they do it anyways. An individual who does laser is someone that has terminal dark hair on her face and that is necessity. I hope this answers your question.
_pOeTz it gives the feeling of being coarse because the hair is being “cut” and growing back with a blunt end. It’s no longer a tapered end, which is what helps the hair feel softer.
You are correct, thank you for your input. It also affects your skin by micro cutting your outer layer of your skin. Please subscribe to my channel so you can see my upcoming tutorials. Keep safe, Maria Here is my updated tutorial ruclips.net/video/YjOz_1xARhw/видео.html

The hair on the legs is terminal hair, on the face are lanugo. Personally, I would never shave my face ... skin texture is different from the legs ... but it is your choice. xx
I'm in my 30s and use to shave my legs all the time the older I got the more sensitive they got I can't even use a razor on my legs now I have to wax due to the itchy soreness that has given me some scares due to scratching in my sleep. This lady is correct in what she's saying I'm a hairdresser the first thing you learn is lungo hair is there to protect your skin as to why we all have it and baby have it from the womb. If you keep shaving your face you will end up with stubble and a blue tone to your skin tone like a man, the hair will become thicker and you'll have to do it frequently too especially when you age. Its another money making spin for beauty products and procedures. I hope this helps!😁

I will always shave my face along with my legs. I don't like hair on my face and as you get older as I am, hair on your face is unbecoming. I have been doing it for years, and I see no damage in doing this. I do it myself I would never pay high dollar to have my face shaved. And I don't use a dermablade, I use a disposable razor with some face cream or some shaving cream.
Hi Melanie, thank you so much for your comments. I always say I agree to disagree, I don’t agree with shaving, however if that you find is best for your superfluous hair then that’s what you should do... what I get upset, is when young girls that have no hair on their face they decide to shave their foreheads their noses and neck just because the make up goes on better, and there’s so many people that are exploiting this young women just for money or RUclips subscribers... and It hurts me to see this. Thank you for your feedback, I had a feeling thia was not a great idea. I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face & don't wear makeup only for special occasions. I was concerned about what you said removing the protective part on my face. Thank you.
Maria xx
Yes not a big deal until someone sneezes while they have a scalpel at your face.

Thank you for your comments... that is why I always say let’s agree to disagree. Maria ❤️
I’ve recommended this to many clients that suffer from PCOS because it’s safe and effective for you ❤️
@@alexismay687 thanks so much for the recommendation! I’m very insecure about the hair so I’m definitely thinking of getting electrolysis
It’s a completely marketing procedure. Cause it makes the esthetician look good. The skin is shiny and glowy. But only for 3 days. The aftermath is not pretty.
I totally agree... thank you ☺️
Shaving/derma-planing cuts the hair down to the level of the skin.
@@divyaabalachandar1020 wow this is something new I'm reading! Itll be amazing if you indeed do make videos on it.

As a master aesthetician who’s practicing for over 22 years, I completely agree.

Yes!!!!
Shaving the face does not remove or pull out the hair, it CUTS the hair at the surface therefore it does not expose the opening. On the other side, laser and waxing does. Also if you experience breakouts or scars after shaving, this is why it is necessary to test patch prior to shaving the entire face.
Sandy Mansour I know
What Shaving does to the skin microscopically....
Sandy Mansour thats Incorrect a lot of beauty gurus say it removes dead skin cells so it’s indeed remove skin and expose openings
@@chickenthotpie765 Anche una esfoliazione chimica e meccanica rimuove le cellule morte, quindi se queste sono tecniche buone, allora vale anche per la rasatura viso, fatta con mano leggera, senza pressione forte, ovviamente.
In 2014 I paid over $1250 over for some treatments for Electrolysis, but the hairs grew back after about a year. Very disappointed.
Thank you!

Thank you lady ...did waxing n realized it's may b a weekly r biweekly bill no
ugh, it sucks. i have a habit where i shave every 2 days because i always have a mindset that people can see my face hairs, it’s so embarrassing.
ally a Maybe what you could to get a few laser treatments, and also go to an endocrinologist that will check your hormones.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and story
I’m an esthetician I also don’t approve it. It only looks good after the treatment and on the esthetician’s Instagram account, that’s it. You will get home and after three days your hair will grow back again.

Hello Jess… I am so sorry 😞… you can contact me on IG. Maria xo

If I shave my face, they would grew black and thick before a week ends. Not many woman would have this luck for one time a month. Sadly you are misinformed.

I want to warn anyone considering this or (their young daughter) too reconsider IF they have a history of acne, do not try this!
frenchemel Thank you, and thank you again, for sharing your experience. I am so sorry that there’s so many people that are pushing things just for the sake of money. I appreciate that you have subscribe to my channel.
I have a tutorial on acne and I think that you might like it very much because it is on how to regulate internally...
Sometimes people get acne because of B5 (Pantothenic acid) deficiency. So it is not your fault...For getting ... blemishes.
Also one of my first tutorial on why I don’t believe in toners and to use apple cider vinegar it will help your blemishes.

How often did you shave? Do you have a hair problem?
I love the smoothness. Such a great way to get rid of dead cells. My skin has never looked better. Men shave every day The reason they don’t have grey completions.
you have to do whatever is right for you...Thank you for your comments.

I did this while on vacation, where I was constantly going into the ocean. I broke out terribly afterwards, and got fungal acne!! Still working through it... Thank you for the video :)
You are welcome... do you still have the fungal condition ?
Such a loaded opinion! Because you haven't addressed any of the benefits of dermaplaning, it sounds like you're opposed to the concept of shaving your face rather than the practice. That, and the fact that people are making a load of money from simply shaving a face (which is so true, so i'm not blaming you!).
helps with hyper-pigmentation
better absorbed skincare products
= more effective skincare products
reduces appearance of fine lines
better application of make up
suitable for pregnant women
suitable for sensitive skin (that cant handle chemical based treatments)
non abrasive to skin
If you can recommend a treatment that targets all of these benefits, I am listening.
I appreciate what you've said, but the only real con in your video is to protect the ostia from bacteria, which is what you're going to do regardless if you have hair on your face or not.
Three more things:
1. After waxing/threading my peach fuzz in the past i'm now lasering it. The only way to remove this hair is to shave, there are no alternative methods (just wanted to shed some light on that cos someone commented about it below but you didn't respond).
2. Your info for the video is very subjective, and misinforming

Hi .... thank you for your support and comments. Sorry that I did not answer you sooner.
Thank you for sharing Joanna, I just hope people will see your comment. Maria ❤️
This is me right now. Feel so stupid to have given myself unneccessary acne.
Thank you ☺️ thank you ☺️ thank You ❤️❤️❤️

Maria
“Microdermablading” ?!? This treatment is also not “dermablading”. Y’all make me nervous.
But what about men? They shave their faces every day?
Carol Osnes Men have a different structure face, and because they shave daily, their face have been calloused...I would not want to have man’s facial hair ...would you?
Maria Pillon wait so men cannot have clear skin if it’s calloused?
Gabriel Mohan Men are naturally designed to have beards and women are not. So shaving almost makes you have men beards.
Men have a thicker dermis and epidermis than women do, and "tougher" skin, which contributes to the difference.
Known fact means skin is different, woman have more sensitive skin!
I 100% Agree
I shaved my face some years ago snd gave myself terrible acne & scars. Took months for my face to recover
Ashanti, Shaving your face is not a natural procedure. Thank you for your comment.Maria ❤️
Ashanti Mars meeeee too!!! I've been suffering with acne and texture since October this year, since I shaved .. one and done lol ... never done!!
I am so sorry 😞 for your experience and that you for sharing. Your skin will repair… just give it time. Maria
@@AglaiaEstheticsTraining thank you so much for your response. I hope it will be better. I would not recommend this practice.
What do you suggest for permanently or semi-permanently removing blond hair from the face?
Thank you for your support!
Here is a short summary:
1. Your Skin Will Feel Exfoliated
There are so many better products and procedures than "shaving"
2. Your Hair Will Not Grow Back Thicker
This is true .... Since you do not touch the bulb
3. You Will Get Stubble
This is not feminine in my thoughts
4. Your Makeup Will Go On Easier
ok this is positive
5. You Might Get Ingrown Hairs
You actually will get them ....
6. You Might Experience Razor Burn
This is a fact and rashes
7. You Will Need To Shave Regularly
Oh dear.....
If you like shaving and wish to do it for the rest of your life...that is your choice to make. However, other procedures instead of shaving or waxing is laser or electrolysis treatments.
Thank you for your thoughts and comments.
Maria

It’s such a bad idea. thank you for speaking out about this topic
Thank you! I was looking at this procedure but after listening to you, I changed my mind.😉
Jo, Happy to hear that i convinced you. Let me know if you have any further questions. Maria
I use to have sideburn baby hair that bothered me. I began epilating and after couple of years, it stopped growing. I would never shave it. Wonderful explanation and I hope more ladies listen to you.

Really appreciate true information. I shaved my face for few times then started feeling coarse and darker hair .
Thank you for your comments.
I have so much hair on my face I had to give up makeup because it highlighted the hair. Have been shaving for about 5 years and really wish I’d never started! I feel stuck with it now. But your presentation is making me rethink. Thank you.
karen simmons I am so sorry that you have been convinced by someone to shave your face😥
So many people are doing it because of marketing and money. And like many people like you are now feeling stuck, and they are continuing doing the procedure. What I would do if I were you, I would go to a professional electrologist, to see if they can help you and also go to a professional Endocrinologist That will help you to balance with your hormones. I hope this helps you ❤️ Maria

I barely have breakouts, thanks to my good genes. But when I shaved my face, I could feel bumps underneath my cheeks.
Thank you for your comments... do you have any questions for me ?
@@AglaiaEstheticsTraining chemical exfoliation doesn't seem to get rid of these bumps. I don't know if I should squeeze them out.

I only did it one time will hair Follicle
become more thicker just wondering? And I don’t plan on doing it again for me it was just a one time thing? Also why do other that provide this service never talk about the bad things about it and it does help with collagen correct? Also who ever said it didn’t hurt they are lying it hurts with razor cuts and burns.

Maria
Thank you! Saved my time and energy from thinking and doing it.
But it is not necessary. I am so glad but you are not doing it and you’re sharing this with you with other young women. If facial hair is for protection and removing it is wrong . Shouldn't lazer be also not a solution
My philosophy is that if you do not need hair removal then don’t do it… My concern is that when I see young individuals that do not need to remove their hair and they do it anyways. An individual who does laser is someone that has terminal dark hair on her face and that is necessity. I hope this answers your question.
When you look at all the videos on YT. They all say the hair doesn’t grow back course, but you said it does. I don’t want this now I’m confused.

@@tatianapolanco2115....thank you!!! The hair is not going to change thickness or texture, it's blunt and feels like whiskers!!
PLEASE HOW DO I FIX MY FACE MY SKIN US HORRIBLE NOW 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 hope someone can help
What treatment did you do? What is happening?
What causes irritation to face skin while shaving? I shave my legs and arms every day and have no discomfort. How is the skin different?
