Found you this morning. You are a real person that isn't trying to sell expensive stuff and are addressing real concerns without the drama. You are a breath of fresh air.
I don't see anything unreal about her, but the truth to the matter is, she just recently started this in her 60s. She doesn't even have years of experience doing this. This is scary shaving your face and not knowing truly how it will grow back. What will happen when I get up in age and I'm not able to keep this up. Having a mustache and beard would be horrifying.
I've been shaving for years. I'm 54. Whether you have a little peach fuzz or a full beard depends on hormones. I have a little more than just peach fuzz. But I shave it off and no one notices. My friends and I have made the nursing home pact! Whoever is able to help the other ones shave will come and do it! Vanity till we die!!!
I've sworn my hubby to "take care" of my face if there comes a time when I'm unable to do so. I don't have anyone else. He's sworn me to take care of some of his "issues" as well. Ain't love grand??? 🤣💞😷
I used Nair on my face n it grew back black n stubbly, it also burned my face bad.. so I've been shaving mine since I was 20 years old, I had way to much fuzz in my face for a girl lol..
I used to tweeze out those course hairs. Mine got worse after injections to reduce swelling in my elbow....steroids!! I would have refused those shots if I had known about this side effect. Anyway, I decided to switch to shaving those areas instead and I’ve noticed the hair is lighter and less course. Tweezing them makes it worse-just my experience. Oh....and I’ve told a couple of friends/sister to make sure they take care of those hairs if I end up in a coma!!! Haha
@@meta-etherealinfo2445 haha it's about selling n promoting unneeded products. I'd never shave my face. don't shave my legs either, most of the hairs wore off on their own. Age does have some benefits hah
Good to hear someone bring this issue into the open. I was bullied at senior school because of my moustache due to having such dark hair. Great to see these mini microbladers! My husband is very supportive and said these products are there to help us feel good about ourselves and helps with our confidence. He's such an understanding man 💖
Why are men praised for accepting reality?? Since menopause I’ve plucked hairs from my chin, I don’t care who sees me do it, it’s part of life 🤷♀️ I have 3 kids and they know it’s normal for a lot of women, I didn’t want them being unprepared like I was lol And a lot of men grow hair out of their nose and ears and get the really long eyebrow hair, do we get praised for being so ‘understanding’ of their hair problems...??
I'm 66 and have been shaving my peachfuzz for about 10 years. You know what ladies? No biggie! A few dry strokes... done! Hair growing on my face and losing it on my head..... Oh, the irony !! 😳😁 BE BEAUTIFUL! 😍 BE GORGEOUS! 😍 BE FABULOUS! 😍💖 Getting older is a privilege not given to everyone. Embrace it !! BE THE BEST YOU ! LOVE YOURSELF! 💋💓
I have been a nurse for 20 years and I had to listen twice when you told your age. Your skin is beautiful and your vivacious energy outshines most people in their 40s! Thank you for inspiring and empowering women of all ages. Just discovered your channel and newly subscribed.
I’m 77 and have been shaving my face for over 40 years. Saw this Chinese woman on Merv Griffin who said she shaved her face and she was lovely. Tried it and was sold.
I'm 45 and started this once a week 3 years ago and it gives amazing results! I look much younger than I did before I started and no more blackheads on my nose, I have silky smooth skin, my wrinkles on my forehead vanished.. my skin has never been healthier. This is a beauty secret that more women should be doing and I have not had a single negative effect from it. Your skin is glowing & beautiful too! Ladies, It's not something to fear because the hair does not come back thick.. you will be so happy with the results.
I have ALWAYS SAID THE SAME THING!!!! It does make perfect face. They are exfoliating everyday as to where women are using so much make up every day. Well, some women are...or do....that work or have pride in how they look. We do not realize how much all the “skin products” that we use REALLY DO clog up our pores! I’ve never done this, but now I just freaking might do it. I’ve always wanted to, but as she mentioned in the beginning of the video I was horrified of the “rumor mill,” my mom used that on me forever for shaving my legs. But my hairs DID come back thicker and blacker on my legs so I was depressed. LOL. However, I didn’t care what happened..... I DID I FACT SHAVE MY ARMS!!!! I had thick hairy forearms and as a young impressionable teenager I was like, “Awwwww hell naw!” I ain’t doing that!!!! I’ve been doing that for over 30 years. I love that we had the same thought process! Hahahahaha. Well, I think I may have a new project in my future. Happy Shaving! LOL 😂
I am age 67 and have been doing this for about ten years. I have never heard of it being done before this. I cannot tell you how relieved I was to see this. I have not told anyone (especially my husband) that I do it. I may decide to admit to it with my sister and granddaughter, but never my husband. He is a big teaser and I would never hear the end of it. I have just been doing the fuzz on my sideburns, I don’t really have anything on my upper lip. Now I will be shaving my whole face too! Thank you sooo much! 💐
I’m reading through the comments and saw yours and thought it was so sweet. Like you, I had no idea other women did this and am relieved to know I’m not the only one! I thought the little razors that she describes, and I buy for this, were for just cleaning up around the eye brow. I had no idea others did this! Now I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! Plus, all the women in my family pluck the little stray hairs we get on our chins, and this is horrible for our skin! It can lead to ingrown hairs as well. I just really started doing my whole face in the past year, and I have been so happy with the results. Not only are the small, ingrown pimples (which I never had until my 40s!) not around anymore, but the dry patches and unevenness has gone away. Thankfully! Anyway, I wanted to say something specifically to you. If your hubby ever finds out, just say it’s micro blading (instead of shaving). That is what they call it at the facial skin spas. I had gone in once a few years ago to have a facial done, and she did micro blading on me, and it was the same thing. I don’t know why I did not catch on back then, but that’s beside the point. Just wanted to save you from feeling like your hubby might “out” you and then make fun fun of you. We all gotta do what we gotta do, irregardless of our silly husbands. Haha! Happy New Year!
I am 65, and doing the same. Plucking is so strenuous, and hard on the neck and eyes, and can leave skin very irritated. The first time I tried it, I was nervous, but no regrets at all!
I have always felt this huge stigma over shaving my face, I have had to for years now, I am 55 and suffer with PCOS which has the side effect of facial hair growth. It's always been so embarrassing but you make it seem so natural and no biggie, thank you.
I know exactly what you mean. I have been shaving for 40 years thanks to PCOS. Funny part is now I'm going through chemo and all of it has fallen out. Hoping it doesn't come back!

Just found you randomly today whilst watching something else ❤ refreshing to find a real person, respectfully helping us older ladies not willing to give up on our beauty feels, whilst dealing with another "this is what it's like to be a women stage" Thank you for helping us where to find the items needed, I had no idea there was a shaver for ladies. Dermaplaning is a thing and I’ve done exactly as she is doing for years. Everything she says is true. Im 52 and my skin looks and feels amazing after I dermaplane. It also allows serums and night creams to better penetrate your skin. The peach fuzz actually grows slow and lightly in my case. I love the smoothness after all that crap gets bladed away.
How do you learn how to dermaplane without harming yourself. It's an overproduction of skin for me. I've been that way since I was a baby. I have allergies so yuck.😂
When I was in my late 40’s I discovered the 10X mirror 🤢.... now I’m 64 & my granddaughter shaved my face with one of these shavers... wow so much better than those disposable shavers... and yes it’s quicker & results are much better🎶💕
Thank you PrettyOverFifty!! You gave me the courage to shave my face, it was the best thing I EVER did! I am 47 yrs younger, growing up my mother made me believe to not pluck my eyebrows, to leave my mustache alone and to NEVER shave face. It was the best decision for myself & my beauty skin care routine. I was blown away by all of the dead skin cells and peach fuss. My face looks, feels, much smoother & brighter. Thank you again. Your tutorial was a true blessing for me. 💯🤩
Hi Kimberly I've been shaving my face for over a year now my skin is so much smoother and no the hair does not grow back thicker I love doing it im 58 and makeup goes on a lot smoother thank you for the demonstration stay safe 🙏🏾
I am 68 and I really looked at my face after applying makeup & powder and was shocked at the peach fuzz holding onto the powder in particular. Shocked!!! I, too, was told that if I shaved, hair would grow back thicker & coarser. I am going to get those little shavers & give it a go!!! Thank you!!! 💖💖💖
I'm 57, but was in my 40's when my dad called and told me Christy Brinkley shaves her face and that's part of why she still looks so young. So out came the razor and I never looked back. I pluck the tough chin hairs, though. Even the tiniest ones drive me nuts.
Haha yeah, there's the odd one that comes back to haunt and taunt you. "Hi! I'm back! Catch me if you can!" Then you try to get it and if you don't hold on strong enough, it retracts and stays out enough to bug you but in too far to get! argh. LOL
S Parker: My jaw dropped when I ran across a RUclips channel about women shaving their face. As I heard more about this, I tried it. Hair didn't grow coarser or longer. I will now do it to take years off. Thanks for the comment. I am retired and have time to do it everyday. I guess I'll be crawling pretty soon. Hahaha.
Christy Brinkley has had more plastic surgery than even a kardashian! She looks really freaky up close, maybe even more plastic than a kardashian. Too bad, because Christy would have aged beautifully, and she's teaching her daughters that their looks are all that matter. It's sad.
I started shaving my face at 56. Even though I noticed all the benefits of it I felt ashamed to tell anyone.. . I didn't realize so many women did it. This video has made me feel so much better about it. Almost proud of it!,
@@ksc743 That's what I want to know, because if I epilate my legs, it's so soft when it grows back I don't notice until it needs plaiting! When I shave them though, I feel bristly in a few days. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try this facial shaving 🤔
I just started at 64 because I can't wax anymore due to tretinoin use. I have a friend who's been doing it for 40 years (she's a hairy Italian) and her skin is incredible.
I am 47 years old and I have been doing this for 2 years now. Thank you for doing an episode on this topic! I have been fearful of my peach fuzz coming back. I have those coarse chin hairs now too! Ugh, getting older has it's downsides.
Thanks for the video. I noticed that when I got to a certain age (I'll be 67 this year) that the hair on my legs was very light but my face seemed to be growing more hair. My theory is that when women get older, the hair from our legs migrate to our face. Lol. Much easier to do my face than my legs.
How can 766 people not like this video? I am incredulous. That’s what blows me away about this. If it doesn’t apply then don’t watch it or if you want to wear your mustache, beard and peach fuzz proudly then you go girl! 😅💖
I am so glad I found this 😊 I am 57 and have had to shave my chin since age 50. I am so excited to know that it's not just me, I cannot wait to get to shaving the peach fuzz now too, patchy and cakey will stop. Thank you ❤️
I'm 44 and have been dermaplaning my face for 5 years. My hair hasn't grown back thicker or darker. I've noticed my serums and moisturizers soak into my skin better and my skin looks so smooth after makeup application. Dermaplaning has also helped with fine lines around my mouth and cheeks! Give it a try but go slow at first until you get used to it. You can use the blades multiple times as long as you clean them with iso alcohol after each use. Happy shaving ladies!
I don't know about you but the hairs growing under my chin are so stiff. I call then pig bristles because the remind me of a boar bristle brush. They also resist being tweezed. Sometimes they break and some I swear are rooted to my skull because they are so hard to pull.
At 75, I've decided to try shaving my face. If it doesn't work out, I'll be wearing a mask, so I'll let it grow a little, and return to waxing! And, yes I made a pact with my good friend to sneak into each others nursing homes for facial hair maintenance! But, I think shaving will be SO much easier. Loved your video. You are FEARLESS and own your facial regimen! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!!
I'm the same way. And I started doing this and boy do I regret it. Between full face waxing, electrolysis and daily plucking and threading, my face is a mess.
@@kathleenking47 Interesting, how did you hear about doing this? Is it the green tea or less sugar that causes a slowing of hair growth or do you know? I tried this shaving of the face about two weeks ago and boy do I regret it. If you already have a lot of facial hair Like stubbly hair do not try this shaving, it only makes everything 10 times worse
I’m wondering how this would work on young skin/acne? My daughter is 16 so acne is normal. But we’re hispanic and she has darker hair on her cheeks like i do (I’m 45 and just recently started shaving my face- love it!) She does her makeup like an artist, it’s just beautiful and varies from vibrant to subtle depending on her mood. I just wonder if shaving this way would help with her acne. Any thoughts?
@@rosec1345 (As a retired medic) Imho, probably the biggest potential danger for your 16 yr old daughter would be the infection risk and /or facial scarring, due to her existing acne. If a superfine but supersharp scalpel-like shaving blade removes existing fine peach fuzz / surface layer of her skin....then being * absolutely meticulous * with her facial cleansing routine ( before and after the shaving ) would be essential. The upper layer of facial skin, in a 16yr old girl, usually sloughs off and renews itself pretty quickly..... as her whole body is still growing towards physical maturity / adulthood, until sometime around her early 20s. Perhaps start off by just shaving a very small area, taking before and after photos, to get a clear idea of the results. Even if that proves to be OK and she decides she still wants to go ahead with shaving.. she certainly needs to proceed with extreme caution........I suggest by just dipping her toe into the water at first, to test things out....before jumping in the deep end and regretting it. The last thing either of you want is for it all to go pear-shaped, making matters worse for her skin, not better. Dont want to sound all doom and gloom here. Just wanted to give info re potential dangers. Anyways, hope it helps you ❤
I’ve been shaving my face for about 10 years now and it amazes me how much comes off every week. I’m 66 now and my daughter loves how young I look. The picture I use on my link is about 2 years old and people keep saying why do you put a younger picture of yourself up and don’t believe it’s only 2 years ago. It really does work ladies so keep on shaving. And may I say you look younger too and I’m glad it’s not just me lol
I'm a hairdresser, and I asked my boss how to get rid of facial hair. She said shave your face. It exfoliates your skin. That's the technical term, "exfoliate," Oh, I just heard you say "exfoliate." I was waiting for that term. Perfect! I used the same Razor that I use on my legs, and that caused ingrown hairs, and pimples. I had adult acne - not fun - never had it before!!! So, I will try the straight razor that you are using. Great video, thanks!
I appreciate you being so open and honest. I’m over 50 also and do remember when I was younger being told that it was taboo to shave your face so I never did and never gave it a second thought. I will definitely try this now. Thanks this video is a blessing.
I'm an Esthetician and want to just explain why people think that shaved hair comes in darker and thicker. Hair, when it grows out of the follicle, it has a fine, tapered edge that emerges from the skin. It appears lighter and is less noticeable due to its fine taper. When we shave a hair, it now has a blunt cut at the middle of the shaft, where it is the thickest. So just at or below the surface, it is blunt edge and when it grows out from inside the skin, it comes out at its thickest and darkest part. So it looks more thick, dark and stubbly. The only things that makes more hair grow or less hair grow, almost always is hormones. Medications also change hormones and hair growth. If shaving helped to make hair grow then men wouldn't be going bald, because they try to shave their heads to make it grow more. It doesn't work. And yes, Dermaplaning is basically shaving the face. Dermaplaning is illegal in many states for Estheticians to perform so you can buy those devices that this gal recommends and just remember to do it on a clean face and sanitize your shaving blade with at least alcohol.
I started shaving my face and now got ugly and painful acne, ingrown hairs, my face is so bad right now. I also dont know if its from the face masks from work. But i did definitely got huge acne from ingrown hairs that will then get infected. 😭
I tried this technique for the first time two days ago. I am dumbfounded. I’m 61, and I thought my skin had literally dried up. Apparently, all my natural oils were hiding under dead skin! My skin looks better, my makeup goes on better. I was really scared it would hurt my sensitive skin but holy cow it has really helped me. THANK YOU!
I’m 62. I have coarse blonde hair. I could probably grow a beard if I let my chin hair go. 😁 I’ve had years of electrolysis since my 20s, so expensive and it always grows back, I tried threading, which hurts and also gave me rashes and bumps, and waxing, which irritates my skin but I continue to put up with it because I’m so hairy. Ive shaved periodically and have been shaving more during quarantine. I’ve been kind of scared to shave thinking I’ll cut myself but after watching this video I’m going to commit to shaving regularly and see how it works! Now, when exactly am I going to lose my pubic hair and my armpit hair?? I’m still waiting for that to happen!
@@susanflanagan8010 my dermatologist told me that electrolysis doesn't work on white or blonde hair. He said that it would definitely get the black ones but not the rest. I have these coarse white hairs on my chin and if I don't keep it waxed or shaved I'd look like my aunt's dog.. LOL I'm 56 and I've been having to wax my chin and upper lip for about 10 years or so.. I wish there was something that would remove it all permanently.
Just want to say that when you buy disposable razors to shave your legs check the price of the pink ones(for women) and the blue ones ( for men). Same exact razor, pink ones will cost more every time.
I bought men's razors for legs- they have much better quality and sharper. I'm not going to shave my face bc when I plucked 3 hairs of my lip hair it grew darker and longer.
Women feel ok about ripping thier skin with wax, putting chemicals to burn the hair but they are so against shaving!🤣 my friends teased me 10 years ago. I said, lets catch up in 10 years and see whos the fairest of them all. Lets just say I won! Shaving also gently scrapes dry skin and encourage new skin cells
AMEN! Someone is finally addressing this issue !!! I have recently started shaving my face, neck, etc. out of desperation 😆 Thank you so much for this presentation….I didn’t know about the smaller razors….ordering asap. I always wondered why men’s skin was sooo smooth and soft after shaving….turns out it’s not just removing the stubble.
I am 73 and still have a little soft hair on my face. I remember having makeup applied years ago at make up counters and comments were made about my peach fuzz. lol I have shaved my upper lip for years for stray hairs and I never grew a mustache. Just never thought to do my whole face. This make so much sense. My razors will be here on Sunday. LOVE Amazon, especially during these difficult times. With COPD and oxygen, I have not been out in over two months. But look at all the things I have learned on RUclips. I even wear wigs now. I will emerge a new person!! lol Looking forward to seeing you more. Thank you sooo much. xoxo
Kathy Parker (my family name 😉) you’re beautiful inside and out my darling 👌✝️. COPD / Emphysema = gas converter for my old mum for the last 15 years of her life. You remind me of her, beautiful.
I will be 80 tomorrow and I'm going to do this. That razor is really going to get a workout. I've never done anything for my face but wash it, and did I mention that I grew up in Miami and lived on a sailboat (with no sunscreen), for 7 years? Luckily, I have good Genes, so it's not the disaster it might have been. I'll report the results.
Oh what a lovely lady you are. Very personable, not trying to be something your not, a proper lady, women can relate to . Thanks from the UK. Stay Safe x
Hi Angela, it just shows how far behind in UK we are in lady products & advice like this . I think I'm going to try shaving my face. I'm a 66 yr old lady, i dont wear Make Up of any kind or use any Skin Care products. This Lady has certainly given All us ladies probably much needed food for thought. Take care & stay safe.
I just started this video and already I love it. A few years ago I shaved my face just to see what would happen. The first shock was how much 'peach fuzz' came off. All that fine, invisible hair was amazing. Then I put on my makeup. OMG. It was awesome. For the first time in my life my makeup went on flawless. When I tried to spread the word with family and friends their reactions were seriously NEGATIVE. The guys acted like, if I had to shave I had a problem and the women acted offended. Older female relatives were horrified and insisted that, if I kept doing it, I'd grow a beard. All I was trying to do was point out that the natural peach fuzz really does make a difference when you're trying to put on makeup. That your skin really does appreciate the exfoliation and will be so clear. But there are so many myths out there that I was pushing back against a thousand years of old wives' tales. This over 50 is thrilled that I'm not the only one who's discovered this trick. And no. I don't have a freaking beard. Sheesh, people. Learn how to science.
I'm seeing this everywhere, women are saying the same thing about shaving but I'm scared. I'm Italian, I'm Mediterranean with dark olive skin and my peach fuzz is not peachy at all. I already have dark thick hair on my chin and I'm so worried I'm going to get those black dots all over my face if I shave And when I told my husband that I was thinking of shaving, his reaction didn't help. 🙄
@@lapatti How do you handle it now? Do you pluck or wax or ignore it? I have medium olive skin. (Yes, it is a thing. A regular medium shade that's green tinted. It's hell finding makeup to match.) I have the fine peach fuzz on my cheeks, but black whiskers pop up here and there on my jaw and chin. I've been waxing my lip and plucking the annoying thick ones for 30 years. After decades of this, the mustache is quite now fine. The whiskers grow pretty fast and I still pluck them before shaving once a week. But I've always ignored the peach fuzz on the cheeks. So now it's pluck the big, black ones then shave the whole thing down once a week. It's pretty fast. If you have a lot you might want to try waxing the areas that have the heaviest growth then shave the rest. Then the whole face gets exfoliated. Remember, the shaving includes areas where you have no hair at all. Oh, and add a bit of hydrocortisone cream right after to calm down redness and prevent ingrown hairs.
When I was thirty my neighbor was 62 and she told me something I have cherished and laughed about years later. She said " you shouldn't to your husband for understanding or support. That's what your friends are for."🤣
My friend, you tried. If they're sound with cakey foundation on crepey skin (or just party poopers) then fine! Ha ha, but not really. You may be left feeling disrespected and invalidated by the very people with whom you were excited (so probably trusted) to share something small, but nifty - and I'm sure you never suggested this would "change life as we know it"! This sort of thing bloody well sucks, and I empathize, completely. I'll shut it now before the "tldr" thing! Next holiday gathering (whatever you and yours celebrate), I hope you'll feel smooth, and so a teensy bit smug!
My daughter, who is in her early 30's started shaving her face and she does get dark stubbly whiskers. I use tweezers on the wild hairs that I get, keeping the extra growth down. Usually I get around 20-25 black or gray hairs that I pluck. Plenty enough for me.
Cajun Girl ...The reason hair after you shave it seems to grow in darker and thicker is only because it has been cut… So what you feel when it grows back is a blunt cut edge instead of a tapered natural edge that the hair once was. When you stop shaving , the hair just goes back to the natural tapered edge as it grows out. All hair seems darker when it first pops out of the hair follicle.
Yeah, but the whole point in your comment is that it doesnt grow back out tapered & natural & never will again!! I'm so sick of people saying "it doesnt grow back thicker, it just appears that way" it appears that way because it does!!
I have been shaving my face since my 30s with a regular razor. Can’t wait to try it this way!! And for a long time I was ashamed because I thought something was wrong with me and I would go to dermatologists and they would just say it’s normal. So I am glad to see a video highlighting this and to know that I am not alone😊
Jan Vasil - me, too. Dang hormones! Tends to be genetic- runs in families . Didn’t find out until I was over 40, that my mother had laser treatment on hers! Why are we quiet about this?!?🤫🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😁
Dawn Burton...I think because its embarrassing, it makes me feel like less of a woman to have to shave, was hoping with age it would go away but so far that is not happening, I have two sisters and they have no unwanted hair and no one else in my family had this.
I so LOVE this video and have needed it for years!!! Due to crazy hormones, I’ve had very embarrassing and noticeable chin and neck hairs or a long time. I’ve been terrified to shave and used wax strips for years, but feel it damages my aging skin. Thank you for giving me the confidence to shave them off and gain self confidence again! Thank you!! Thank you!!
I’ve been using a stainless steel little pairing knife to scrape my face for decades. I’ve been around the sun 63 times. I get compliments on my skin. Using black seed oil for a moisturizer. It’s known for growing hair well. I am thinking about bleaching above my lip again.
I’m 74, and have been shaking for decades. My hairdresser got me into it. I use the round battery operated shaver and I also get microdermabrasions. My face is shiny but so much better than fuzzy.
I been doing this almost 2 years and just love it , I am 74 years I knew along time since I was in my 20s read Japanese women did this to make their face look like fine porcelain, I did it but like all young did get dithered and stopped why? but I do this once a week fewer lines and wrinkles now not gone gone . But soft and silky
I've been doing this about 6 years now, with a very simple skin care routine, I'm 48 and my skin has never been better in my whole life. Highly recommended!!
@@treeseneese8655 best thing that has worked for me, and I use every night after I cleanse my face, is Neutrogena acne stress control toner. I have used it for years. It cleans my pores, but it's a toner so it closes my pores up. I may not be explaining that well, but it works. Then I use St. Ives Renewing callogen & elastin moisturizer. I've been doing them both for probably 10 years, my skin has never been better. I hope this helps 🙂
@@bethmann3283 Thank you! I will definitely give that a try. I don’t know why my pores ended up getting so big, I wash my make up off every night. Sounds like I’m not getting all the product off my face though. I hope this works for me, thanks again😁
@@treeseneese8655 I find that when I use that toner (even after I use micellar water and a face wipe) I'm still getting a tiny bit of make up off on the cotton pad. So it is good at getting residue off and leaves your face feeling clean. Good luck!!! And you're so welcome!
You are so brave. I was so embarrassed when I was 24 years old, and at a dinner party in NYC. I had "bleached" my mustache back in the eighties and thought it looked OK. It did not. A child at the dinner table piped up and said "Mommy, why does that lady have a mustache?" The woman replied "Well honey, there are things that can be done for THAT." I was never so embarrassed in my young life. I started waxing after that and have continued nearly daily since then and I am now 62 and worried about what will happen as my skin ages and it starts ripping with continued use of hard wax. I have always avoided shaving because I notice other women who shave and can tell a five-o-clock shadow a mile away. That is my biggest fear regarding shaving. I do not wear make-up, and am a wash-and-go woman, but detest having to wax as well. I would hate feeling any picky feelings anywhere, and occasionally wax the waning hair on my legs and have very little body hair left and often feel if I let myself go I would resemble one of my cats or the character "Festus" from Gunsmoke, the old Western. I fear being stuck in a nursing home as I have no family to care for me, despite the fact I was a caring nurse for many years and never let my patients look bad but worry I would in that horrible situation. I thank you for an informative video about such a sensitive topic especially for post-menopausal women who have lacking hormones that make this issue so much worse. It is definitely worth some serious thought. We should have female volunteers who go to Nursing homes equipped with hair removal devices to help our elderly women. It would be so appreciated, I am sure. Bless your heart for doing this.
@@lisaseidenkranz3211 I was fascinated by your video. I did purchase the razors but I am not brave enough to try them yet. I am still waxing until my skin starts to rip. I live in Vermont and I often see women who shave their mustaches and chins and I can tell they shave a mile away. I rarely go far from the house of course, because of the pandemic, but traveling with wax and/or razors is something I hate to do and sure wish there was another answer. I even bought a laser hair removal machine and spent nearly $500 for it and it did NOTHING. My friend who does Electrolysis for a living is one of the hairiest women I have ever seen. I wish someone would come up with a permanent solution. My hands are so arthritic I'm afraid I will cut my face or worse. haha. You're awesome, btw. Thanks so much for helping us women with such a common problem. I would SO love to wake up in the morning, wash and go. It just never has been that way for me.
I am an RN and worked in a nursing home, I would help women with removing facial hair if they wanted that service. I was not allowed with the clients who had dementia unless it was in their care plan approved by family, something to think about.
@@sallymae5233 Bless your heart for doing what you do. When I was a young RN working on Neurosurgery, I took great care with my elderly ladies and every night we used to make them look nice for their husbands who visited them every night and would sit and hold their hands. Nurses like you are so needed for the elderly who cannot care for themselves anymore. Thank you for your loving care. You are a good nurse. Nursing is not just critical care, it is EVERYTHING about caring.
Thank you for this tutorial, I’ve been plucking and hating my facial hair for years. I’ve subscribed and going to binge watch your videos before I head to the store to get this little razor! I appreciate you taking the time to discuss and teach your methods! 😊
I’m 77 and have been shaving my face since late 30s ish. Saw the lovely Chinese lady on Merv Griffin show who said she had been shaving her face for years and no problem. So I did it. Just use a cheap plastic razor. Peach fuzz gone.
After a chemical burn on my sensitive red headed skin I started shaving. My hair is very light but still noticeable. Life is alot easier without plucking and burning.
I'm seeing you for the first time ever. I'm 53 and need more of this in my life rather than 30 yr olds trying to tell us what to do.. 😄 You are full of a great bubbly personality.. have a gorgeous glow & I love your makeup & style ❣🥰 . P.s. I subbed 💋💟
My granddaughter is currently going to esthetician school and has learned to do "dermaplaning [ she says"Dermaplaning removes peach fuzz, dead skin cells, and improves skin dullness." Yes, ladies, there are those gals at the spa who have learned to shave faces.
That peach fuzz is really annoying. Idk how many years I’ve been shaving it off but I do know it’s not really frequently. I rarely shave. You explain this process adequately it’s just a aging thing. Perfectly normal. 🥰❤️
I've recently started doing this and the difference in my complexion is amazing. It really does have a glow and my makeup goes on so smoothly. Highly recommend. I'm 67 and gorgeous 😆
I have been saving my chin area since I was 16 and I have never seen anyone address this issue before. Kudos for helping so many women with this. When you said you shave your face once a week, I thought she has it easy. I shave every morning, and again in the evening if my husband and I are going out. I always thought I was weird because of this problem. Listening to you, I realized shaving all the time has helped to keep my face looking young. The other thing I do is to protect my face whenever I am going outside by wearing a wide brimmed hat. People are shocked when I tell them my age. In fact, I have less wrinkles than either of my daughters!
A friend I worked with shaved her face for years! I wished I had known that, because she looks phenomenal!! She finally told me when I was in my 60’s! I started to, but then stopped. I may start up again! Thanks
I have been shaving my face for 10 years now....I am 63! It has been the best decision and my skin looks amazing! And I am not a make-up gal so it has really helps my skin look beautiful and smooth naturally.
Lol. I'm 53 & have been shaving my face since high school. I'm Hispanic & have course thick hair on my head. My facial hair is much finer. The texture of my facial hair has never changed. Its never grown back thicker. Haha! I appreciate your honesty & transparency on this subject! Thank you! ❤️
DJ Juarez, thank you for sharing. My daughter (whom we adopted as a baby) is half Guatemalan and is fairly dark-skinned especially in the summer and I'm as pale as they come. My daughter is now 11 and is getting a lot of thick hair on her face, especially above her lip and I really wondered if shaving would be good or not. I heard about that old myth that it will grow back thicker. I'm so glad to hear from someone with Hispanic ethnicity that has been shaving since her teens! I'm going to get myself one of these razors and one for my daughter too!
Julie Wright I learned from my dermatologist that it IS a myth. The reason many people think that the hair grows in thicker is that when we first start shaving , Usually in our teens, our hormones cause us to grow hair where we didn’t used to before. Even if we DIDN’T start shaving, the hair would continue to fill in. If you have thick, dark hair when it grows back it feels stubbly and gives the illusion of “growing back thicker”. From a dermatologist’s perspective, they have literally measured number of follicles and thickness of hair so they know what to expect throughout people’s different stages of life. Of course hormones and heredity determine hair thickness and color but , according to my doctor, shaving does not make the actual hair thicker or more dense. Hope this helps. 💗
Julie Wright You should buy Sally Hansens microwaveable hot wax. It's better than shaving. Eventually the hair quits growing. I loved it but don't need anymore.
I have been shaving my over 67 years face for years. My skin looks and feels so much smoother now. I don’t wear makeup ( actually have no idea how to use it to my advantage) as a general rule.
Okay I bought the tinkle razors awhile ago and was to afraid to try it but just did it along with your video and my over 50 skin looks and feels amazing!! THANK YOU!!!
I started shaving with the lil shaver about a month ago and I LOVE it!! Gives me so much confidence to know I don't have a big whisker dangling that I don't know about!
Yes, to all 5! I've been dermaplaning for a couple of years, and I found it to be one of the easiest, most effective skincare routines for me. I look in a magnifying mirror when I shave to watch all the dead skin and peach fuzz come off...so satisfying. Crazy, I know, but it is! I use the Tinkle. 🙂
OMG! so glad that I accidentally found you!!!!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but was so afraid that it would grow back and be out of control and I would really be in a hairy fix! Thank you for answering these questions and taking the fear out of this process. I'm going tomorrow and getting my razors and take off all of the old and be radiant for sure! LOL I'm Italian and I was starting to look like my Gramma! You've saved me! hehehe
@@elsievargas7747 I'm dark and have had a dark moustache all my life and thick chin hairs in recent years. I've been doing this for a year now and it hasn't changed the thickness or (colour?!) at all. It's true that the old wives tale about it growing back thicker is wrong - it's just the hair is blunted at the growth end by the shave.
OMFreaking God!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊 🙏 Ian 41 and my skin is so oily and beginning to get discoloration from sun damage and dead skin. I shaved my face 🤣🤣🤣 and HOLY KRAP....the dead skin just came off in clumps and most of the discoloration came off also!! Thank you for doing this video!!
I’ve been shaving my face for a couple years. Your info opened my eyes and I’m anxious to try. For starters I’ve used women’s basic razors and I’ve only shave in the areas like a man would. I love how you represented this and opened my mind to the whole face. I placed the order for the razors that you used and will be watching for them to be delivered. I can’t wait! 🌹oh. Btw I’m 63. Completely related to you. I’ve subscribed to your channel.
I was introduced to these shavers/ microplanes by my daughter months ago. She’s in her early 20’s & has excellent skin care & uses very good products. What a difference it has made to my skin. So much easier & gentler than facial waxing which is what I used to do but had stopped due to its harshness on my mature skin. Your honest, no-hype demo is appreciated. Thanks
Very refreshing video, Kimberly. Thank you for sharing how to shave our faces. Sometimes I do get a facial including dermaplaning, but that procedure is costly. Nice to know you can do this at home for women who don’t know. I appreciate your down to earth approach and your frankness in sharing your own experiences.
Recently, I pulled out my 10x mirror and was amazed with the truth of my face. The makeup and power just coated the peach fuzz and made my face look dull. I'll be trying the face shaving asap. Thanks for the info! :)
Hi Kimberly! I've been shaving/derma planing for about 6 months now and it really does make such a difference in the feel of my skin and the way makeup applies. Thanks for sharing your routine!
@@PrettyOverFifty Hello Kimberly, thank you for a great video! When I was 33 I became a full time working professional clown. In my late 20's I worked at it part of the year. We use a special kind of makeup and it has to be set. It must go on smoothly and thin so that it moves with your skin and feels like skin when touched. Fast forward to after I had a hysterectomy at 32. I noticed a light peach fuzz was growing on my face which gave my makeup a matted look, not good at all! It occurred to me that I could carefully shave it off because I had to have the smooth look I was used to. It worked! So, I began to shave regularly. Eventually I became a lecturer on the circuit teaching tips and techniques of make up for the older clown and was a competition clown, as well. It was always good for a laff when I would get to the part about shaving my face, first there would be a silence, and then the room would be full of gasps, uncomfortable laffs and then hands shooting up with questions which I answered openly and honestly. Then I would shave my face before the makeup demo, the men had some funny comments but they learned some things, also. When my makeup was finished, I invited anyone who was interested, to touch my face. Over the years, I have been told how that one part of the demo was so important to the women who saw me do it, as many were older and having the same experience. I am 78 now, I still shave my face and am thrilled to learn about the razor you showed us, thank you more than words can say. BTW, I still get compliments on my complexion, because it is smooth and healthy, after shaving 3 times a week for many years, now I just do it once a week. A new fan!
I have noticed for years that older men’s faces often look younger that women’s faces the same age. If I shave my chin and under my chin I get stubble. I would have to shave every day to keep on top of it. I am 71 and didn’t have this issue when I was younger.
I have a mole under my chin that sprouts hairs, so I have always had to tidy them up for decades (yes, I am now 67). For about the last ten to fifteen years, I have also been shaving my face. The results is worth it. Being a naturalyb blonde, I only need to do it when I notice the peach fuzz. Friends often ask when am I going to catch up in the wrinkles and grey hair department. I have been very blessed with my skin and my hair, my entire life. I very rarely wore foundation and definitely don't know. I just need a bit of concealer, eye shadow, liner, brows and mascara, blush and my lip stain and I am good to go. Never forget to use a moisturizing sunscreen ladies, regardless of age. I think it has been my saving grace since the 80s.
I was always told that if I shaved my face I would end up having to do it forever. I have stopped makeup and used to have really nice skin. I’m 63 now and think I’ll give this a try. It seems to be a low maintenance way to give my face a good cleaning and when you said once a week should do it that works for me. Just subscribed. Thank you! 💗✌🏽
I am Team Tinkle at age 52. Love those little razors. I use them to catch the little hairs that grow in between laser treatments, but I’ve never considered using them over the rest of my face. I’ll try it!

@@IngsHoops That isn't true, you are just all full of hate!
@Amelie Mae The woman showed herself without makeup, what is so unreal about her?
Same as me
I've sworn my hubby to "take care" of my face if there comes a time when I'm unable to do so.
Im pretty sure diet causes more or less hair growth. I suggest a little research regarding eating a diet high in grains.
Haha
You are so brave to cover something most women wouldn’t admit to doing or needing to do. You did a great job describing the process. Thank you.

Why are men praised for accepting reality?? Since menopause I’ve plucked hairs from my chin, I don’t care who sees me do it, it’s part of life 🤷♀️ I have 3 kids and they know it’s normal for a lot of women, I didn’t want them being unprepared like I was lol
And a lot of men grow hair out of their nose and ears and get the really long eyebrow hair, do we get praised for being so ‘understanding’ of their hair problems...??

Ty for sharing! I was curious about the blackheads/dark pores on the nose. I have never shaved my face or dermaplained. Going to try this asap!
I’ve always said that’s why men look younger for longer. They exfoliate daily with shaving! Makes perfect sense.
I was just thinking the same😊
I have ALWAYS SAID THE SAME
THING!!!!
LOL 😂
I'm 77 and have heard shaving would cause the hair to grow back darker and thicker.
@@bettyboop4263 she addresses that. And personal experience for me.. it’s not true

I had this problem at 18. Now I'm old enough to laugh about it.
I have been doing this since my late 40’s. I should have started a decade sooner!
I’m going to give you one better. Every person all of us we all want a happy life
I am age 67 and have been doing this for about ten years.
There is a fairly silent sisterhood of shavers...
Say absolutely nothing, private matter☘
I am 65, and doing the same. Plucking is so strenuous, and hard on the neck and eyes, and can leave skin very irritated. The first time I tried it, I was nervous, but no regrets at all!

How to prepare your skin for shaving
I just discovered you as well..California Bay Area
Dermaplaning is a thing and I’ve done exactly as she is doing for years. Everything she says is true. Im 52 and my skin looks and feels amazing after I dermaplane. It also allows serums and night creams to better penetrate your skin. The peach fuzz actually grows slow and lightly in my case. I love the smoothness after all that crap gets bladed away.
Ha ha! 😂
What's the best way to prep the skin before doing this?
How do you learn how to dermaplane without harming yourself. It's an overproduction of skin for me. I've been that way since I was a baby. I have allergies so yuck.😂
I'm 64 and i always joke that after menopause i don't need to shave my legs but know i have to shave my face.

Same age. I get horrible bumps or cysts. Ugh.
So happy to hear that , thanks for watching!
Hi Kimberly I've been shaving my face for over a year now my skin is so much smoother and no the hair does not grow back thicker I love doing it im 58 and makeup goes on a lot smoother thank you for the demonstration stay safe 🙏🏾
Hello Joanne😊
Almost proud of it!,
me too! Thought it was just something in my family alone!
Hey, the actress Elizabeth Taylor did it too!
Donna Andrews, doesn't it grow back prickly, like when we shave out legs?
That’s the problem with women’s Health care. No one wants to talk about it but everyone suffers from it!
@@ksc743 That's what I want to know, because if I epilate my legs, it's so soft when it grows back I don't notice until it needs plaiting! When I shave them though, I feel bristly in a few days. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try this facial shaving 🤔
I've been shaving my face since I was 25. I'm 66 now and
My skin is beautiful!

I cannot recommend electrolysis enough. If the hairs are white, laser is useless.
Yep.
I also get dark coarse chin hair and I'm a blonde.
Getting older certainly beats the alternative 💀☠️👻😇
I agree with you!
Thanks for the video. I noticed that when I got to a certain age (I'll be 67 this year) that the hair on my legs was very light but my face seemed to be growing more hair. My theory is that when women get older, the hair from our legs migrate to our face. Lol. Much easier to do my face than my legs.
Lol....one lady called them 'stray eyebrows'.
How can 766 people not like this video? I am incredulous. That’s what blows me away about this. If it doesn’t apply then don’t watch it or if you want to wear your mustache, beard and peach fuzz proudly then you go girl! 😅💖

You are FEARLESS and own your facial regimen! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!!
I'm the same way. And I started doing this and boy do I regret it. Between full face waxing, electrolysis and daily plucking and threading, my face is a mess.
I noticed when I started drinking green tea without sugar, they grew in slower on my chin.
It's something to look into
@@kathleenking47 thank you so much
@@kathleenking47 Interesting, how did you hear about doing this? Is it the green tea or less sugar that causes a slowing of hair growth or do you know?

I started shaving my face 3 yrs ago. At 40 I was still getting pimples. Since shaving I haven't gotten 1 pimple!! No joke.
Thank you, I was just wondering to try or wait because I am now in my 40s
Anyways, hope it helps you ❤
Karen B much appreciated, thank you 😊
vanshita ... I’m 44 and tried it for the first time last year.. it’s great, your skin is so much smoother, plus no more peach fuzz.😊
So excited to find your channel! It gets old seeing all these 20 somethings online giving beauty tips, no pun intended! Thanks
Hello Retire.....💝😃😃
I’ve been shaving my face forever! So many people think it grows back thicker! Not true! I’m 62 and will continue to shave my entire face. Thanks!
So glad to know I am not the only one who has face hair!
I appreciate you being so open and honest. I’m over 50 also and do remember when I was younger being told that it was taboo to shave your face so I never did and never gave it a second thought. I will definitely try this now. Thanks this video is a blessing.
You look incredible. I can’t believe you’re 63. I have been shaving my face too and I love how nice my makeup looks
Thank you so much for this information and advice! Very good!
Yes ! Thank you!! Ive been trying to tell my friends this forever!
Thank you for explaining this to the ladies reading. I had this explained to me years ago and I’m so glad I did.
Deep appreciation for you sharing your knowledge.
THANK YOU!
Hello Julia😊
It’s so weird, we lose our pubic hair and armpit hair but then grow hair on our face! WTF🤬
LOL! I was thinking this exact same thing the other day!!! 😁
Thank you very much for this informative video. 😊. I’m going to try those razors.
i'm 47 still have lots of pubic hair
Complain to the Companies
It's called Pink Tax
I bought men's razors for legs- they have much better quality and sharper. I'm not going to shave my face bc when I plucked 3 hairs of my lip hair it grew darker and longer.
Yes I noticed to .So I buy men’s razors you normally get a couple more men’s razors than women’s for the same price.🧐
I buy the mens 3 blades lol
Women feel ok about ripping thier skin with wax, putting chemicals to burn the hair but they are so against shaving!🤣 my friends teased me 10 years ago. I said, lets catch up in 10 years and see whos the fairest of them all. Lets just say I won! Shaving also gently scrapes dry skin and encourage new skin cells
Hello pretty..... 💝😃😃
How often do you have to shave once you start? Daily, weekly?
@@KM-os8lb I started this a year ago and I do it every two weeks, or sometimes sooner if I'm going out socially and I notice any new growth.
Thank you sooo much. xoxo
Kathy Parker : God bless you ❤️🙏🏼❤️
Kathy Parker (my family name 😉) you’re beautiful inside and out my darling 👌✝️. COPD / Emphysema = gas converter for my old mum for the last 15 years of her life. You remind me of her, beautiful.
Thank you Tamara, Lore and Carol. 😘
HUZZAH! I have recently refound my girlie. It’s been fun!
Kathy Parker I LOVE your hair style!
Happy Birthday 🎉
My mother shaved until about 2 weeks before she died at 93, and her skin was beautiful.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday.
How did it go? My Mom will be 78 in the fall so I am curious how it worked for you . Also happy belated Birthday!!! 😊
Happy birthday, 80 is a great age. Just proves, one is never too old to learn new tricks! Ay?
Oh what a lovely lady you are. Very personable, not trying to be something your not, a proper lady, women can relate to . Thanks from the UK. Stay Safe x
Hello Angela.... 💝😃😃
I already have dark thick hair on my chin and I'm so worried I'm going to get those black dots all over my face if I shave
And when I told my husband that I was thinking of shaving, his reaction didn't help.
That's what your friends are for."🤣
@@lapatti...what about laser hair removal... no hair will eventually grow back
My friend, you tried.
Alisha Martin me too girl. I think I had hormonal probs. Mine started very early and my hair is so black mine does grow back in not a good way 🙄🙄
I have coarse black hair that grows fast because I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome, I just hate it.
Jan Vasil oh girl I hear ya! 😩😩
Hello Carol 😊
I been doing this almost 2 years and just love it , I am 74 years I knew along time since I was in my 20s read Japanese women did this to make their face look like fine porcelain, I did it but like all young did get dithered and stopped why? but I do this once a week fewer lines and wrinkles now not gone gone . But soft and silky
I've been doing this about 6 years now, with a very simple skin care routine, I'm 48 and my skin has never been better in my whole life. Highly recommended!!
Hello Beth.... 💝😃😃
Do you have any recommendations for huge pores? I feel like I’ve tried everything to no avail.
I am amazed. I’m 73 and have never done a shave on my face. Your skin looks great. Thank you for opening my eyes
I'm glad to hear that our elder faces dont grow back coarser and darker! It is amazing at how different makeup goes on and looks. Great video, thanks!
Kandice,
I hear you and it's as if you are telling my story. I was young too when I began hearing those innocence comments.
I hope you see my comment.
Kandice, I’ve had the very same fear of being in this situation! It is a great idea you have for a volunteer opportunity that is much needed.
You are full of a great bubbly personality.. have a gorgeous glow & I love your makeup & style ❣🥰

Hello Wendy 😊
Agreed- such a pleasant personality, very genuine. Thank you, thank you

Im wondering if its a good idea to start shaving at late 20's
Wow! I’m 71 and never heard of this before! I can’t wait to try it. I’ve been plucking and waxing to no avail! 👏👏👏

You have such a happy disposition and are so honest about such personal things. Thank you for sharing.
Some people are lucky because they only get the peach fuzz but others will get darker and thicker hairs. Good luck!
@@elsievargas7747 I'm dark and have had a dark moustache all my life and thick chin hairs in recent years.
After menopause gravity takes over then you lose hair where you don't want to and grow it in places you never thought possible. sheeesh!!
Hi Kimberly! I've been shaving/derma planing for about 6 months now and it really does make such a difference in the feel of my skin and the way makeup applies. Thanks for sharing your routine!
So glad you enjoyed it Cindy - so happy you stopped by!
A new fan!
You don't look over 60! Closer to 40. Glad I found your channel.
I have noticed for years that older men’s faces often look younger that women’s faces the same age. If I shave my chin and under my chin I get stubble. I would have to shave every day to keep on top of it. I am 71 and didn’t have this issue when I was younger.
Hello Sandra.... 💝😃😃
I had my mole removed because I hated that hair. Now that hair has come back to haunt me in my old age--it's grey!
