Just wanted to add that dermaplaning is done on a thoroughly dry, not damp, skin. So it's good to wait several minutes after washing your face before starting. Thx for the video.
I am doing dermaplaning for the last half an year now in a combination with laser hair removal for my face. THE RESULTS ARE BOMB!🔥 I've never had such a silk skin, and also received couple of compliments on my skin, which is crazy! :D I won't lie - I was scared as fk when I had to shave my peach fuzz before the first laser procedure, the dermatologist told me to shave my facial hair, but nothing about "dermaplaning", so I decided to give it a try. I tried to read info online, but i couldn't find any details about laser hair remover and DP..but ladies, honestly, this is the best thing I've done for my annoying facial hair :D ❤️
The reason why some ladies think that the hair grows back thicker is because of the way they 'shave' ... The thicker hairs such as those that grow around the chin and moustache area is because when they shave as opposed to plucking or waxing, that removes the hair from the follicle, is because the hair is being cut off like cutting the stem of a plant, it leaves a sharp or blunt end, depending upon the angle they cut the hair. If you cut a plant stem on an angle, you will see the sharp tip on the end of the stem, and if you cut it straight across, although you don't have a sharp point, it's still a cut edge. However if you remove the stem from the root, if it's going to grow back, it's going to grow back as a soft new stem. I hope that this helps some to understand the difference between cutting and removing from the follicle. The thicker the 'stem', the sharper it will grow back, which is why the very fine peace fuzz won't have a sharp edge as it regrows. It's more like a very fine fern as opposed to a thick stem.
I feel getting rid of my peachfuzz gives me a luminous, radiant quality to my mature skin. I am a permanent devotee. I like the Tinkle Razors. I wish they had a handle that just the blade is changeable, because it's a huge waste of plastic.

I’m on board with this as well. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and I can say that this doesn’t cause hair to grow in thicker. Your explanation is very good. I shave my legs, I have done that for 40 years. The top part of my leg has never grown in thicker or coarser. The lower leg (calf) has a coarser texture which is common with many women. It may seem to grow in darker but actually hair that is exposed to the environment will lighten in color so the hair that is growing in has not been exposed to the environment. Love your tutorials !

Oh, I tried it once. Gave me a very strange sensation especially abough my upper lip. Difficult to describe. A slight numb but also tingling sensation. Couldn't stand it. Also after a few days I developed folliculitis. So this is not for me
Great video. I am tanned with dark hair, I have been using the Asian brow shavers. Most important start with clean face, don’t apply to much products after and always disinfect the blade. Waxing, threading always resulted in irritated skin and pimples for me but with this I have had no issues. Clean face, sterilised blade a must!
There isn’t, but everyone has preferences. I happen to have a “fluffy” face. The hair is completely transparent, almost impossible to see- until I put on makeup. Nothing I do will stop that hair from being coated with product. Without makeup it’s perfectly fine. But sometimes I want to wear it and I hate having all that work wasted because it’s making things look patchy or like I have dry spots. 🤷🏻♀️
Biologique Recherchre - I too have no words. From P50 1970 that I have been using for 30+ years to Masque Vivant to their serums and creams, there is nothing like it on the market. Period. I have been lucky enough to have treatments at the spa on the Champs-Élysées in Paris a few times on holiday. Honestly, this brand is everything.
Does Biologique Recherche ever have sales (on their own or other websites that sell it)? I’ve been wanting their P50 for a few years. But there’s always a mystical air to praises about this product. What’s the active ingredient in it? Just alpha hydroxy acids? So I wonder what makes it different from other popular exfoliants like Sunday Riley good genes serum which is 5% lactic acid, or things like Pixi Glow Serum (also 5% lactic acid), Dr. Dennis Gross alpha beta peels, etc. Or even stronger products with more “dermatologist-backed” evidence like retinol/retinaldehyde.
Andreea, I love that shirt! Didn’t see a link to it, and may not be available anymore, but can you please share info about it? 😊 Love all your content, it lifts me up! Thanks 😊
You are so beautiful. You shine from the inside out. I’am going to be 71 Nov. 27th. I’ve never really put any thought into taking care of my skin. That is until I just watched your skin care video. Also a couple months ago accidentally I ran into your video about mistakes people do with their make up. especially after the age of 50. I absolutely loved it and Learned a lot. Skin care and make up were never a thing for me. I just did it and I have had good outcomes. One thing that has bugged me a bit was having deep set eyes. So I could never really accentuate my eyes with eyeshadows or eyeliners😕. But I really enjoyed the tips you gave. And I’ve taken on the few that Spoke out to me. So I thank you☺️💐. You are fantastic.
I do it now too and love it as well. It gets my face so smooth. No I don't have weird growth. Same growth as usual. I like it to grow some to see it come off with the blade. I know it was time and not overdoing anything. My first time I was afraid of cutting myself, now I am confident when I do it.
I was hesitant to point this out, but I want corrections when I speak a second language, so I hope you do, too. It’s dermaplāning (like airplane), not planning (like planning a vacation). I love you videos - and your accent!
Mine turned black and so thick in some areas that I had to do laser and now I'm doing electrolysis hair removal for the ones that are thick that I have left :(
Did this happen to you after you removed your peach fuzz? Did they grow back black? Thinking about doing it, that’s why I’d appreciate an answer to this :)
@@scarletbegonias3236 hi! Since she didn't answer I will lol. It's different for everyone. If you have an imbalance in your hormones or more testosterone than normal I would not recommend you to do this, as it could possibly "activate" PCOS (you can search more about this if you wish). But aside from that it will not grow thinker because the follicles (which create the structure of the hairs), sits under the skin. Shaving or dermaplaning will only trim the hair to an extend where it still does not touch and there for does not affect the follicles. The hair may appear darker because it has not been lightened by the sun but it doesn't take long to lighten it and there are also other methods to lighten it, such as bleaching. Now for me I dermaplane once every 5-8 months depending on if I feel like my skin needs it. I can say that my stubble grows out in about a week and it grows completely in a month. I have been dermaplaning (I might be writing it wrong sorry lol) for about 5 years, and my hair grows at the same rate, color, and thickness. DISCLAIMER: This is based on my research and knowledge that I gathered from professionals. But also my experience!!! I hope this answered all your doubts and questions. If not please don't hesitate to ask more🤍
I really wish that the 5 (10!) dark, tree trunk thick chin hairs that I pluck weekly would somehow switch places with my eyebrow hairs that I plucked for 1 year in the 90’s.....ah thicker brows, I can but dream 😌
Dip a q-tip into Men’s 5% Rogaine and rub it into your brows every night - brought mine back, almost like when I was a teenager! It’s liquid and you don’t want it to drip into your eyes, so don’t saturate the swab, just get the tip a little wet. ⚠️ BUT…. this is NOT an approved use, so it’s good to do a patch test by putting a dot at your hairline a few times to make sure it doesn’t sting. It’s been an absolute miracle for me, but be careful at first it you try it. They also make a lower concentration and a foam if you want to start out slowly.
Yey!! I have been doing it for 2 years now, love it ! Was 99$ for me, they also send refills when you prefer, I did 3 months. Also comes with cleanser and moisturizer.
Hi Andreea, Could you please create a video on how to apply eye make-up on big eyes? I find it difficult to have a satisfying result with basic techniques. Moreover, I struggle to find content on this topic. For example, it would be great to know how to make big eyes look smaller, how to avoid making them like panda 🐼 eyes and also how to pull of a glittery look. Will you be kind and create a tutorial for this, in case others can benefit from this as well? 🤗
I did it and it was a big mistake, grew back thicker and darker. So I had to do the Laser and problem solved but I had to spend a lot of money because Laser is really expensive.
How often do you think it’s safe to dermaplane? I think if you aren’t exfoliating daily with chemicals, it is ok to do every two weeks. Of course, everyone should consult their dermatologist if they have questions or concerns. I’ve had it done professionally, but I prefer to do it myself using Dermaflash product. Always at night. Always one blade. Never use twice.
I would never shave my face, I don’t find it a good idea. I don’t mind my tiny hair on my face. I use wax on problem areas like chin or upper lip, but why to shave? Why?
How beautiful you are, both inside and out. I see this because it glows from the inside out. Thank you for such a thoughtful video about dermaplaning. I truly appreciate your information.
It can activates paradoxal hair growth on areas like the upper lip and around the chin because these are hormonal areas according to my dermatologist , and shaving them can activates hair growth so I'm gonna pass.
We shave our legs and underarms....the hair NEVER grows back thicker or heavier...so why would hair on other places of the body suddenly grow back thicker?
Thank you for posting this video! It was very informative and came at the perfect time! Your advice over the past few years has been spot on 😊 Thank you so much 😊
Tha ms Andrea. It is interesting because I was advised not to apply anything on my face after shaving because the pores are open and it is risky. I was advised to wash my face and leave it rest till the next morning.
Can you please do a video on eyebrows. Is Microblading ok or laminate or if it’s better to leave it natural. Would absolutely love that. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Please do an updated video of your Biologique Recherche products! I used it for a year and loved it, but now starting to get bored and trying other brands again,
You can get rid of any hair with the luminizer from Philipps. I struggled till my mid forties with ( dark) hair on the legs and over the face as a dark hair type…; it is all gone after 3 months - only with light. Never came back
Do you mean the Lumea? I couldn’t find one called luminizer and guessing autocorrect had its way with your words. Lol I’ve been researching home hair removal rather than going for laser treatments, so thanks for leaving a comment here!
I have been shaving my face for a very long time. It started with just the mustache area then decided to do the whole face, I also pluck hairs. Unfortunately for me, as I got older, chin hairs started to appear. Now being 68 I have many more. My face maintenance takes a long time.
Hi, I go to my beautysalon for sugar waxing to get rid of al my unwanted hair. And it is less painfull than traditional wax, the sugar wax exfoliates my skin and the hairs grow back less and thinner. I love it! Xxx
I've been using dermablades for about 6 months now and wow! It is SO much better than using a hair removal cream. I just use aloe Vera with my blades. Those pesky black hairs (I have 2 and I call them my witch hairs 🤣) you're right Andreea it makes your makeup go on so much better. I used Bondi blades which is an Aussie brand, not sure if they ship worldwide but either way take her advice it's so good!
But but but..... how come than men who are self-taught on shaving and shaved too high on cheeks, like where you put blush, they have ugly black carpet hair? They always explain it 'my father didn't teach me'
I loved this Andrea! Thank you so much for recommending this product. I love your skin....I love what you are wearing and your makeup in this video. You are a breath of fresh air....sending you love from Australia 🇦🇺 ♥️♥️♥️
I actually love these results, but I would personally never try it before speaking to a doctor. I have normal peach fuzz but then a couple of thick hairs on each side of my face. I remove them with my tweezer which technically shouldn’t make them grow thick but thinner, like when you are waxing your legs vs shaving and they still come back as thick as before. I am too afraid that, being a brunette with fair skin, this will show a lot and I’ll be stuck with doing it forever. If it wasn’t for this, I would have done this years ago. Very informative Andreea!
I am from India and have darker and thicker facial hair due to PCOS . I have shaved my chin and upper lip for about a year when I underwent laser hair removal. I was in america at that time and used those target razors in between the sessions. 3 years later , my hair is NOT thicker. They are the same as they were. Laser also is a factor because it definitely slowed down the growth of my hair in that area. But while I was shaving my face during that 1 year, the area did start to look greener and like micro stubble- probably because the coarser hair are cut flat and starts to at least look thicker.Never went back to shaving after that. But when I go for another laser treatment , I would have to go back to shaving again.

It's fine. Happy holidays Andrea💕
enjoy the time with your parents, we totalllyy understand! Lots of love
I have the same 4 or 5 stubborn black hairs that grow on my chin, so annoying lol
Same!
If not please don't hesitate to ask more🤍
I really wish that the 5 (10!) dark, tree trunk thick chin hairs that I pluck weekly would somehow switch places with my eyebrow hairs that I plucked for 1 year in the 90’s.....ah thicker brows, I can but dream 😌
i enjoy my plucked eyebrows haha
🙌🏻 Amen sistah!! 😂
My eyebrows consist of just a few hairs. I started plucking as a teenager ! It is such a problem now !
Tutorial on your makeup please!!! That glistening shadow 😍😍😍😍
Wow 😲
What "wow" lmfao, as if it's surprising
I shave every 2 days in the bath and it does no grow back thicker. We get more thicker body hair as we age.
Enjoy this precious time with your parents! ❤❤
I shaved my face once and let me tell you that I have never been more oily :(
How often do you think it’s safe to dermaplane? I think if you aren’t exfoliating daily with chemicals, it is ok to do every two weeks. Of course, everyone should consult their dermatologist if they have questions or concerns. I’ve had it done professionally, but I prefer to do it myself using Dermaflash product. Always at night. Always one blade. Never use twice.
I would never shave my face, I don’t find it a good idea. I don’t mind my tiny hair on my face. I use wax on problem areas like chin or upper lip, but why to shave? Why?
You are so genuine and humble i love it!
PLEASE do a French skincare routine/tutorial!
Andreea, please share with us the nail polish colour you are wearing in this video ☺️Looks fabulous! Thank you
I got electrolysis on my darker hairs and it stopped them growing completely
Love your content! Take care of you and enjoy your family first and always!
You are sooooo sweet and honest! Love you and your beauty advices! ❤️❤️❤️
Dermablading is the best thing I could have ever done! Thanks for sharing this blade, I want to invest in something like this
I have the same, I have gone from electrolysis to laser to be able to control te hair growth in my chin.
Enjoy your parents honey ❤️
Thank you Andreea Ali!!♥️💕💕💕
I am a woman and I shave my face for over 15 years now. No problem.
Me too, once I found out Marilyn and Liz Taylor did it it was good enough for me 🤣
We shave our legs and underarms....the hair NEVER grows back thicker or heavier...so why would hair on other places of the body suddenly grow back thicker?
Actually it does. Please don't speak for everyone!
Thank you for posting this video! It was very informative and came at the perfect time! Your advice over the past few years has been spot on 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Enjoy the time with your parents and stay healthy! Great make uo look! ❤️
I love your shirt! Where is it from?
You have to make sure you're keeping up with your acid exfoliants after shaving. Or you'll have clogged pores.
have been shaving my mustache for three years and its the same havent grown back thick!
Tha ms Andrea. It is interesting because I was advised not to apply anything on my face after shaving because the pores are open and it is risky. I was advised to wash my face and leave it rest till the next morning.
Are u still doing it? Thank you ❤
Can you please do a video on eyebrows. Is Microblading ok or laminate or if it’s better to leave it natural. Would absolutely love that. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
I love this. Everyone deals with this and thank you for making it normal with a fix for it. 🙌👌
I started dermaplaning two years ago and I love it!
Have a wonderful vacation, but we do miss you!🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have been shaving my face for a very long time.
I love it! Xxx
Where is this beautiful blouse from? Love you ❤️
Wonderful video! We appreciate you so much. Enjoy your family time!
I’m assuming you’re in Aus? Have you got the machine Ali is using?
@@carolannf hi yes I am. No I don't have the same product as Andreea, I looked it up here and it's $400 Australian 😟
@@LaceyAus86 😂 I know! That’s why I thought I’d ask what you used 😊 did you get a cheaper tool?
Andrea Where is your shirt from? So nice! Love your videos, Grüß from germany:)
Thank you! I've been questioning this topic very long
I have to know - which eyeshadow palette are you wearing? It's beautiful!
OMG please please do a makeup tutorial about this look!
But but but..... how come than men who are self-taught on shaving and shaved too high on cheeks, like where you put blush, they have ugly black carpet hair? They always explain it 'my father didn't teach me'
Men have different hair on their face than women. Can you grow a beard? No so nothing to do with your facial hair.
I loved this Andrea! Thank you so much for recommending this product.
I love your skin....I love what you are wearing and your makeup in this video. You are a breath of fresh air....sending you love from Australia 🇦🇺
♥️♥️♥️
There is a reel on her Instagram how she did this base 😍
Hi Ali, I was wondering. Will You rewiev the new Lisa Eldridge collection? You always show the colors best on all the internet haha
Couldn't you get the same product absorbing benefit by exfoliating with an acid exfoliant?
Which self tan is you’re favorite!!!!
I love my dermaflash. Enjoy your time off!
I do it on my nose lol...But I am good at this shaving face. I have been doing it for over 6 years. It works wonderous! I love it.
Do you get stubble? I like to do but afraid of stubble
Yes, sometimes the skinn on the nose is thicker. It needs a peeling and hairremoval.
Wooow thanks for the video !!! I was one of the girls asking for it !!!!! 😇
Great video and tips. What do you do for the in between dermaplane for the mustache area etc? Thank you 😊and enjoy your parents 💗
I was going to ask the same , my moustache grows faster than the peach fuzz on my face 😩
