Bought this car 3mths ago. I absolutely love it's flawless execution. Perfect in every way. One thing I disagree with in this review is he claims flat footed passing power. This thing is a rocket from 80 kph and up.
At least it is a sign another car review is coming, the QX80. Even the description is meant for that car. So we should be seeing it by this week as well. Love Cooley's reviews as usual. Great work! :)
you gotta give the wingers something to have a go at! Good job Mr cooley, if that is all the errors the wingers can find! they are not paying attention. lets look beyond the errors and tell me 20 good points please. as usual, i love your video and your honesty in presenting facts without the sales talk.
Don't buy TDI to save money. Buy it for the substantial low rpm power and less frequent fuel stops. You *might* save money over the gas V6 in the long term -- especially if the diesel holds its value better -- but don't count on it.
thank you Sir,that was beautifully explained, all I wanted to know was is what do they call the top doted lights in semi circle line in headlight is called mine is not working, happy new year to you and your proches .
Useful review, thanks but you said that it has a Tiptronic Auto? Unless the US is different the Q5 TDI has a S tronic which is a dual clutch type auto.
everything about this was awesome, Cooley, the Q5, the deisel...then he gets to the price and you have to just let it go. I wanted a Q5 when I bought my X1. Just too expensive.
awesome video, brian cooley should seriously be on top gear usa. however, there are a few gripes i have with the video, primarily them showing a sq5 wheel partway through as well as showing the 3.0 petrol tfsi engine(s4 engine) saying that it is the 3.0 diesal. the 3.0 diesal is not the one they showed in the video, but otherwise, great video
3:54 Cooley my man, the most ergonomic way is to have push for down- pull for up-shift. Like when you accelerate hard it's more intuitive and convenient to change up by pulling same for braking hard push to reduce is easier. See any race/rally car. BMW are the only ones who get it right.
The Audi Q5 is not an crossover, it is an Suv. A crossover is a "lookalike suv" like Nissan Quasqai without a 4 wd system but with the ground clearance of an Suv.
chancy319 since around 2010 Audi has really upped their reliability game (better than BMW and Merc). I own a 2011 A4 2.0T and I've never run into any issues
In the US Diesel and Gasoline are generally in the same station. It's kinda rare to find just one of each. Again, this is the US so it might be different elsewhere.
I only ask because I saw an ad for lexus hybrids and it said don't buy diesel cars because you will have to go to the boonies to fill up. I guess it's just a myth
That comment doesn't make sense when you actually own a premium vehicle like the Q5. Allow me to explain. Audi Q5 takes premium gas which costs MORE than Diesel in most areas. So saying ill take Gas version doesn't make sense when it costs more than diesel in most areas. I mean no offense just want to clarify the gas vs diesel price difference. Apples to apples comparison will show that Gas premium vs Diesel is about the same if not better for diesel. Good Luck in your search.
Not correct - premium gas, that's used for these luxury SUVs, costs 40c more than diesel, about 10-15% more these days. Now you do the math in terms of 35mpg average gas mileage on freeway (30mpg in city) on this Q5 TDI, which is 15-20% better than its gas version, and with 10-15% less price for the fuel. Now add the 240hp and 428 lb.ft torque.. Voila!
4:41 you just showed a gasoline engine in your diesel review video. Really? Also in your cost analysis of gas vs diesel, diesel models typically carry note-able difference in higher resale over a comparable gasoline unit so more in up front doesn't equate to that cost being totally lost on the back side of the ownership. Apples to apples.
They've also shown the SQ5 leather stitched steering wheel and dash which I thought was a bit odd since they're already doing the review and could've just taken a shot of it.
Steve Swinnerton no, think! In a manual, you go up to shift up because all the odd numbers are on the top part of the tree; down (or back) to down-shift because no you have to go (back) or down through the gears. It makes sense. I don’t know what sports cars or race cars you have been in, but this way makes sense.
This is what we don't need; another SUV. Or at the very least, parents shouldn't give said SUVs to their teenagers, one of which killed my ex-fiancé while doing 50 mph in a 25 mph zone, and got off without any form of punishment.
Unlike the 15 million trucks in the US + the Cummings diesel engines that do not have to worry about such things as the impossible regulations do not apply to them. They must be polluting some other atmosphere, I guess.
Google Maps/Earth is the worst you can use for navigation, it requires a permanent data connection and it cannot just work from saved map data. Literally anything else is better. Why not integrate something good like Tomtom with its own maps and offline data set and capabilities to work completely offline?
love every review this guy does.
Bought this car 3mths ago. I absolutely love it's flawless execution. Perfect in every way. One thing I disagree with in this review is he claims flat footed passing power. This thing is a rocket from 80 kph and up.
he's talkin' freeway speed. that's 70-75mph
Thanks for this great review. Good balance between the tech/navigation and the car.
Infiniti are really stepping up their game! It looks remarkably similar to an Audi Q5
Even if it is a mistake, its not Cooley's, he didn't mention Infiniti in this video, it's the people who upload and manage the RUclips channel.
This Infinit is evolutionary they even changed their badge. That is outstanding.
At least it is a sign another car review is coming, the QX80. Even the description is meant for that car. So we should be seeing it by this week as well. Love Cooley's reviews as usual. Great work! :)
My future car.
I have the 2014 audi q5 tdi and I love it!!!!!!
+Peyton Urich See the recent VW emissions scandal? Still love your car?
+WuWei Xu yes I have and I'm not happy about it!!!!!!!!!
+WuWei Xu but the emissions scandal is with the 2.0l Diesel engines not the 3.0l
Peyton Urich The EPA has found that MY 2014-2016 cars equipped with the 3.0L diesel are also affected. Source: www.bbc.com/news/business-34705604
Well it's not my fault that they lied to the U.S. Government, when Volkswagen recalls the Audi Q5 I will get it fixed
This guy is an amazing car reviewer
you gotta give the wingers something to have a go at!
Good job Mr cooley, if that is all the errors the wingers can find! they are not paying attention.
lets look beyond the errors and tell me 20 good points please.
as usual, i love your video and your honesty in presenting facts without the sales talk.
I love the new styling direction Infiniti is taking. Reminds me a little too much of a Q5, though...
Thats because he is doing a video on CAR TECH
Who cares if the title is wrong? Cooley's doing the review!!
FINALLY A CNET CAR REVIEW
im lovin' all your videos Brian... keep it up
Should my dad change his car from hyundai santafe cheapest spec with no options, to a 2015 high spec q5 ?
Don't buy TDI to save money. Buy it for the substantial low rpm power and less frequent fuel stops. You *might* save money over the gas V6 in the long term -- especially if the diesel holds its value better -- but don't count on it.
good start, like the idea of having the car pay for itself
thank you Sir,that was beautifully explained, all I wanted to know was is what do they call the top doted lights in semi circle line in headlight is called mine is not working, happy new year to you and your proches .
You say it’s got no gear paddles on the wheel?
TDI is the best best best!!! just love it so much !
Useful review, thanks but you said that it has a Tiptronic Auto? Unless the US is different the Q5 TDI has a S tronic which is a dual clutch type auto.
He also says it has no paddles on the wheel when I can clearly see them :-/
everything about this was awesome, Cooley, the Q5, the deisel...then he gets to the price and you have to just let it go.
You'll earn back that "green premium" even faster when you use Waste Veggie Oil (or straight veggie oil, depending on relative cost)
nailed it with the title
You've pictured the Petrol version! (tfsi)
Brian, you should review full size trucks, gas vs diesel.
3:54 Cooley my man, the most ergonomic way is to have push for down- pull for up-shift. Like when you accelerate hard it's more intuitive and convenient to change up by pulling same for braking hard push to reduce is easier. See any race/rally car. BMW are the only ones who get it right.
Now there's luxury I can celebrate, love the Fox' and Seacreasty's
Are these good suv's
Can you get it without the TDI lables?
What's the point if the background music isn't muted when u say listen to this.
If you look closely enough you'll notice that is not an infinity, it is in fact an Audi.
@3:55. No Cooley. It's pull to upshift. Matt Farah got it right
Cnet, did you guys forget to use youtube?
The Audi Q5 is not an crossover, it is an Suv. A crossover is a "lookalike suv" like Nissan Quasqai without a 4 wd system but with the ground clearance of an Suv.
Infinity or Audi?
Awesome review but what happened to the videos name title
Didn't the editor check the title of the video before it was allowed to be posted? Gosh
Does anyone know if this car is expensive to maintain?
Its an audi...
Audis are one of the worst at maintenance. Ridiculously expensive. I'd go with Infiniti or Lexus ANY DAY.
chancy319 since around 2010 Audi has really upped their reliability game (better than BMW and Merc). I own a 2011 A4 2.0T and I've never run into any issues
Why do you guys infiniti on the tittle?
Audi or infiniti ?
solid review!
It's 2020 and now they are affordable :)
Audi is an infiniti now? Since when?
is it true diesel gas stations are hard to find?
In the US Diesel and Gasoline are generally in the same station. It's kinda rare to find just one of each. Again, this is the US so it might be different elsewhere.
I only ask because I saw an ad for lexus hybrids and it said don't buy diesel cars because you will have to go to the boonies to fill up. I guess it's just a myth
Yeah not every store sell that but all store sell gasoline in U.S.
+jump oricakle In Canada, every gas station that I've encountered has gas and diesel pumps.
Depends on where you live. I'm in Los Angeles and every gas station sells diesel :/
When he says 0-60,does he mean kph or mph
Basil Fabian MPH.
Infiniti ????
Is the TDI written down the side a decal or painted on? First thing I'd want to do is get it off my doors.
This car is journalist tester. Decals are not there at the showroom.
I remember when diesel costs 1/3 of gas, but now in my Canadian town, diesel is 1/3 more than gas. I think that I would stick with gas.
True story
But dat torque though...
That comment doesn't make sense when you actually own a premium vehicle like the Q5. Allow me to explain. Audi Q5 takes premium gas which costs MORE than Diesel in most areas. Did Infiniti bought Audi???
Cooley makes the videos. Someone else makes the mistakes. Cooley knows this is Q5 so chillax everyone
Isn't that an Audi q5 ? Not a Infiniti ?
true i never thought infiniti makes auidos
actually cooley, the correct format is down for upshift and up for downshift. thats how racecars are set up.
Umm... Audi Q5 TDI?
Wow infinity changed it's logo. And name. And cars.
at least it's better than being tricked into watching a non-Cooley car tech video
Show me a picture of a Q6, never saw one before.
Audi ?
Nicest infinti ive ever seen
INfiniti QX80??????
Your title is misleading, it says Infinity QX80
Up to up shift, down to down shift the way it should be? lol That's opposite to any race car and sports car.
Steve Swinnerton no, think! In a manual, you go up to shift up because all the odd numbers are on the top part of the tree; down (or back) to down-shift because no you have to go (back) or down through the gears. Who cares about the title still a vehicle #BestCarReviewer
This is what we don't need; another SUV. Or at the very least, parents shouldn't give said SUVs to their teenagers, one of which killed my ex-fiancé while doing 50 mph in a 25 mph zone, and got off without any form of punishment.
I don't care about earning my money back. I'd rather give my money to auto manufacturers than gas/oil companies.
wow this is a nice infiniti, but I'm worried they might be copying audi a little too much
Funny how things go in the States. In Europe, if that had an I6 or V8 petrol engine, it would be worthless after 4-5 years.
Now, this is just a hunch, but is it me, or does that Infiniti look like an Audi?
this Infinity looks awfully similar to an Audi, law suits coming
The title is wrong...
Wrong title. This is Q5 TDI NOT infiniti QX80.
New Infinity diesel. Cool. Wait...
This is the new Infiniti Audi
Well, the EPA just announced that they found Volkswagen's emissions cheat device in this 3.0L TDI engine. So much for being green.
+WuWei Xu ikr right?
"That's how they scrub all the soot and junk out of the diesel exhaust" aaaaaahhahahahahahahahahahahahhaaaaaaaaa
Unlike the 15 million trucks in the US + the Cummings diesel engines that do not have to worry about such things as the impossible regulations do not apply to them. They must be polluting some other atmosphere, I guess.
@@andraslibal They're both spitting in the environment's face. VW AG just spits in your face and apologizes afterward 😂
Clearly states Infiniti QX80. Please change.
CNET please get things right. I like cooley, tong, dong ngo, Bridget Carey, even Donald Bell. Mis inform stuff sucks.
Hold on here the Q5 has adaptive cruise STANDARD! that is excellent. is it 0mph?
They are padles in all of them execpt the disel.
da fuq? says 2014 Infiniti QX80 AWD... how's this an 2014 Infiniti QX80 AWD???
nice infinity
«2014 Infiniti QX80 AWD» misleading tilte
This is an Audi!! C'mon CNET! Common sense.
Oh wow. I thought they put the wrong thumbnail. LOL Cnet.
I think everyone else covered the error in the title. ?.
Then again,
If they can't get the title right, not worth watching the review!
They're not proud about TDI anymore
best infiniti ever
Nice Infiniti Cnet
CNET That an Audi !!! not infinity !!
This car looks so damn bland to me.
because it's white..
Nice.
This is what happens when Infiniti decides to name everything Q.
you had one job..... the title
Google Maps/Earth is the worst you can use for navigation, it requires a permanent data connection and it cannot just work from saved map data. Literally anything else is better. Why not integrate something good like Tomtom with its own maps and offline data set and capabilities to work completely offline?
The only correct phrase in the title is AWD, but still should be quattro
