@@ThePaintingCoach keep going man! Could you do a tutorial of space sharks? Or raven guard! I know they have simple colour schemes but I would so love to see what & how you do them!

@ThePaintingCoach appreciate the suggestion but I'm already in it to win it bud. Been building my army all week and it's the single most therapeutic endeavor I have embarked upon in years. For the Fmporer! Thanks again 💪🏻
Pretty. I have used somewhat similar recipe for my own units, but I got some new ideas for contrast. . Only big downside is how I'm out of Retributor spray and I dont have chance to resupply. GW international distribution for their sprays has been first restricted (only black and white available) and then completely unavailable for the whole year. Covid has really hit their ability to supply their customers outside of their biggest markets. Huge demand, zero change to buy. I have been stuck painting TS and Custodes with black primer and adding the gold undercoat by hand. I aamtempted to buy a new compressor just for airbrush.
Awesome thank you for making this video! I've got some Custodes coming in the mail and I've been unsure if I should prime black or Ret Armor, and the weapon blades having been giving me a a little anxiety because I've never painted anything like that design before. This video was very helpful!
Hey man! Awesome paint. Quick question. Can you link the video you are speaking of at 2:27. I'm new at painting and my biggest problem is when painting cloak. Thx a lot!
Thanks - welcome to the hobby! I was referring to the video on the screen - but check out some of my other content with cloaks that might help - I have some #shorts with red and blue you can access via my channel page
I've got an odd one I'd love to see. I'd love to see you do the first Legion, the Dark angels in their 30k/Heresy era colors, maybe on one of the Praetors or the knights Cenobium set. I figure you're usually doing colorful and brighter units. Why not try something a little darker ans classic
@@ThePaintingCoach I can't wait to see that! Your videos have helped me over the last 2 years in the hobby since I started collecting and painting. Love your work, and hope to keep seeing more and more from you.
Is it possible to prime resin custodes with retributor armour spray can? i am currently using vallejo grey beforehand. is that even necessary though? love your paint job, great tutorial and to the point.
Great video, i will try to paint my custodes in the same way. But a lot of people complained about the retributor gold primer like its not the same as pot version or it came out a spray in an awful way or it had bad coverage. You also used the primer and your figure is 10/10. Do you have some tips for this primer?
@@ThePaintingCoach My duuuuude thats awesome! I'm currently painting my entire Custodes army, using this video as a guide. Love the look. I'd love for you to do a video specifically about painting the vertus praetors! Looking forward to what you put out!

My second custode came out as a way warmer gold than the first :/ I followed the same steps but was wondering what could cause this? Could it be down to how much or how little Reikland fleshade I applied? If so, how many coats would you recommend for that tone you have achieved on the video roughly? 🙂
Honestly how does a regular guy do a paint job, nvm me with crippling nerve damage from copious alcohol use, im serious please advice. Im scared to buy models coz I KNOW i will fuck up the assembly. I really want to get into 40k so its very tragic
@@ThePaintingCoach I agree with Ricky. This is good but I prefer the longer form vids that you do. Leaves more room to explain what you're doing and why. These are just a little too rapid fire. Sort of like looking at a list of bullet points if that makes sense?
The Emperor himself would love those custodes. another amazing paint job!
Thanks!
Amazing…..love the fast, no nonsense speed painting….plan to watch this 50 plus times, as I go….again AMAZING!…….love your work!!

That looks really simple but wow! what a result....makes me want that new boxset from Santa!!

Great stuff!! I'm using this as the go to painting guide for my new custodes army. You're videos are fantastic, thanks!!!
Thanks Brian!
Many thanks: I just printed an Emperor model, and I wasn't sure how to apply a nice gold colour. Your tutorial truly helped.

I found this really helpful for my oltyx colour scheme. Thanks ✌️
Fantastic! Love your channel and feeling a custodes project coming on! Search for it and BAM painting coach just uploaded one! Nice one man!

Hello Sir., Fantastic video.
At 2.27 can you put the link to the video that shows the process to paint the cloack
Thank you
So sweet. Love it.

What would you recommend for bigger models like vertus preator bikes and tanks? Same approach but maybe a light dry brush for the liberator gold?
Yes I think that would work
would you change anything for painting bikes and characters? i could use some ideas for how to see the difference in my HQ´s and everyone else
Have a look at my videos - I did Trajann Valoris recently and talked about exactly this. I wouldn't change much for bikes

Nice vid! But one question, are you applying the Retributor Armour spray after a first layer of Chaos Black spray?
Yes that's correct :)

Can you use stormhost silver as a substitute for iron hands steel
It's a little bright and doesn't cover as well - you could use leadbelcher

If I don't have a airbrush could I still accomplish this by hand? It looks stunning
Yes of course

Did you spray the model with a black primer first, before you sprayed the retributer gold?
Yes 👍🏻
Can retributor armour from the pot work if i dont have the spray? If from the pot do i cover the whole model too?
Yes it will work fine - just paint the bits you can see that need to be gold
My problem with Nuln Oil is that it kills my metal color shine.
It can but the highlight usually makes it pop up
