- In this video, I show how to fix the error "cannot start the ps4". Hold down the power button while the ps4 is off, until you hear 2 beeps. This will bring you to safe mode. Try one of the options in order to fix this. Update system software from internet, restore default settings, rebuild database, initialize ps4. The only one that will delete the data is the initialize PS4 option. Hope this helps! Leave a comment if you need any help.

Thank you so much for this video! Had this issue pop up today out of nowhere. I followed your guide and ended up having to use option 6. Luckily I have all my games on my external HDD so all I had to do was download the save files / data from PS cloud. I hope this don't happen again but if it does at least I know what to do. It means you'll need to replace your old Internal Hard drive with another Internal Hard Drive, but requires a Computer and a USB Drive.

Now I can't get it out of the loop, I've tried all 7 options as well as downloading the reinstall & initialize download from PlayStation website. It could be a hard drive issue, but I didn't want to spend $50+ on something that has a chance of not even fixing the issue so I went and purchased a new PlayStation. Which sucks because I'm in fear it's going to happen again, as well as the new PlayStation coming out relatively soon. Like you said it is weird, conspiracy time lol. PlayStation bricking consoles so they can get the last drops of $ from PS4 lol.

@@NovaSixx That's really odd, well at least it's still somewhat functional. Hope it doesn't mess up on ya again, I feel like it was the update. I didn't install it for two days and when I finally did I got sent into the wonderful loop. Just in case you didn't know, if you install a new hard drive then your PS4 won't be returnable/can't trade it in but not like GameStop would give you much at all anyways haha. Pawn shop would probably take it though, just remember to reset it completely before taking it to a pawn because they won't and your info/credit card could still be saved. Buddy of mine made that smart mistake lol. Well hope it goes well and resolved the issue for you, would love to hear the results if you happen to remember to shoot me a update. Initialize will only work for a few days then it will loop again
Best advice: clean your system every 2 weeks

I did get it to work I had to initialize it, basically a factory reset. Try to rebuild the data base first though.

@@MarisDej4Vu I finally did it. I unplugged my PS4 cleaned it from outside and then I re plugged it and it said checking system storage after that it said can't start Ps4. I turned it off then afterwards I started and held button for 7 secs it went in safe mode then I rebuild data base and my data was safe

For all of u in need of help, I system initialize and rebuild data base my ps4, I did lose some of my data, u won't if u have ps plus and saved ur data, but for the games u need to sign into with an email address ur data will save. Hope this helps 🙏

In order to get to the screen with all of the options, first make sure your PS4 is completely turned off. Then hold down the power button on your console (not the controller) for about 10 seconds until you hear it beep multiple times. Then the screen should come up with all of the options.

@@UnitedAirForces You may already be doing this, but just to make sure, hold down the power button on your console for about 7 seconds until you hear a 2nd beep. If you hold down the button even longer there will be a 3rd beep which would turn the PS4 off again.

@@TeoAe. so my kids ps4 was in safe mode. How it happened? Only GOD knows lol. So the system stated that it needed to run an update and I needed an external update inserted into the USB port. Well I watched this video and the option I had to do was a hard reset. To do this you just need unplug the power supply from the ps4. Plug it back in, and do what's pretty much a factory reset. I believe it's option 7. Beware it will erase everything and reboot the system as if it's just purchased. Hope it works out for you.

Well here’s an update my ps4 hasn’t turned on completely for 2 weeks it’s been stuck on safe mode and when I tried restarting the whole ps4 it didn’t let me and had an error code. I searched up online what the code meant and it said my internal hard drive is dead
I ordered a new hard drive I’ll lyk if it works might be the same problem cuz lately physical games have been corrupting the hard drive and Cold War was the reason why my hard drive is dead cuz Cold War disc corrupted my ps4
