    Thanks for stopping by and checking out the review! Just wanted to address that I have worked alongside Lexus of Royal Oak in Calgary for previous reviews. This is not a dealership provided vehicle, it was handed to me by Lexus Canada. Wanted to be clear on that as all videos with dealership vehicles WILL have a shoutout in each video. Thanks again for watching, commenting and sharing!

      Maybe I missed it, but could you please give the Lexus name for the color of the test vehicle? Enjoyed the review very much. As soon as AWD is available, I will replace my 2011 ES with this. Faultlessly reliable and comfortable cars.

      20 years and no visits to the shop, except for oil changes . Still looks like new , except it looks dated of course. I strongly dislike the front grille on the ES 350 2019 . It keeps me from buying a new one .

      @@bgueberdenteich5206 I second what you said of your 20 yr old ES. My first ES was purchased new in 1995, my daughter is still driving it and she has had NO repairs only oil and fluid changes, plus tire and batteries. My last ES is 2002 and I have only replaced a starter! My 2019, which I recently purchased, I love it!! I'm truly a Lexus girl and wouldn't purchase anything else! Maintenance free and comfort is A++ I strongly hated the new grille and vowed to not purchase another Lexus! After so many years I finally gave in and purchased a black ES 350 loaded. So far so good and on this black car I realized that it was beautiful and truly classy!

      @@schulalord9184 I am older now and the most important feature in a car is reliability , I drive long distance sometimes to see family and it is so reassuring to not have to worry about being stuck on the road ! I have a white Lexus because I live in a hot climate and it does not show dirt . It has almost become a family member, lol. now my 12 year old granddaughter is hoping to drive it soon , I do not know about that /! Biden wants to remove many gas stations, to force the public into electric cars , so maybe I will have to look at Tesla ? I am not eager to do that ! What sense would that make anyway, when China and India do not partake ! ?

    I just purchased the 2019 ES 350 Luxury Edition. Wow....Strongly recommend it. Frankly, I see nothing wrong with a FWD automobile. This car handles well, and its pretty darn fast too. Thanks for the review.

      FWD is fine in today's car world. FWD gets such bad press and they're better than ever. My 19 TLX V6 is fwd. Power to the front wheels is well managed. Up north I can see the need for AWD but not in warmer climates.

    Great review. Nice job. I've had the 2018 ES 350 for a year now and still love it. I knew I wasn't buying a sports car or a head turner - I've had those in the past - and this is a smooth, quiet ride that I can rely on and still look forward to driving a year later. I probably won't upgrade to the new model & may just keep the 2018. The lack of AWD in the 2019 is surprising though.

One of the best fits for me was the Mini when it was re-introduced about 10 years ago. I’m not sure about the current model. I live in Ohio so I’d be looking at a different dealership. My wife really misses her 2004 E500 Merc that we traded four years ago. We went away from a luxury car and really miss it. We especially miss the luxury car service department. A friend of hers has the last generation ES 350 and tells us of the great Lexus service. This models top on her list. It needs to fit me is it’s the car we use for vacations.

Absolute cushioned ride and whisper silence compared to its rivals. In normal daily driving the cvt is no problem at all, its smoother than its rivals double clutch setup.
    This is the car in the traffic who's not acting like a teenager and instead just wofts past you or usually you race past it, while the driver in lexus enjoys no hurry and the comfort of long lasting craftmanship.

    Now old Lexus GS is still much better car. Too bad they decided to kill off GS instead of ES. In my opinion, GS deserved to be upgraded. + cars like ES, RX etc. are exactly the reason why cars like: LS, LC, GS, iS have bad sales. They should focus on developing true luxury emage instead of trying to play in two segments simultaneously. And for those who need ES there's Toyota Avalon.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      I know I'm late to answer this, but... GS was a better car, but it cost much more to build, and the ES outsold it 10 to 1. Lexus is in business to make money and really had no choice. And every automaker "plays in multiple segments simultaneously." The only ones who even almost don't are one-trick ponies like Mini who are on the edge of going out of business. And as for the Avalon, a fine car, but the ES outsold it despite being higher-priced by $5,000. Which would you keep building?

      @@tonysterbenc 4 to 1
      And you now what really matters in the world of money? Prestige, legend and heritage.
      That was a wrong move for the long run and these kind of moves are exactly the reason why cars like LS 500 and LS 500 will never sell despite being absolute works of art.
      No prestige, no heritage, no legend = no money.
      That's why the Germans are doing ao well in the luxury segment.
      Lexua would do well if toyota would finally realize that Lexus is not toyota.
      They are kind of slow though. It took them "only" decades that auto sport isn't car manufacturing and you can't apply the same principles there in order to win. And they are winning now.
      I'm sure some day they will figure out the Lexus thing too.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      @@T800-b2m I already said the GS was a better car than the ES, a self-evident fact that's pointless to repeat at me as if I needed your corrective schooling. (It cost $10,000 more; it damn well SHOULD be better.) As for which cars are its "competitors," Car and Driver lists the E Class and the A6/A7 among them. It points out, correctly, that those costlier cars are better. But the question of "competitor" doesn't hinge on "which one do you like?" And the question of whether the ES is a "real luxury car" doesn't hinge on T 800's almighty opinion of its pedigree; every neutral source lists it as one, and some 40,000 US customers annuallly buy it as one -- like it or not.

A FWD vehicle with snow tires will destroy an AWD vehicle with all-seasons in 99% of winter conditions.And although AWD can help you gain traction, it does nothing to aid in stopping. Today while in for service call . My new GsFsport ‘s sunroof glass is rattling. It’s starting to sound like that old Lemon CTS I had. In any case. I was able to sit in the new Es ..Next week they will give me one when they replace the glass. What I can say is it’s appointed very well inside. But considerably less head room. Noticeable by just standing next to it. I honestly don’t understand what Lexus IS attempting to do. They want a lower , sleek looking car. That pulls on two wheels. I just don’t get it.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc Год назад

      It has more headroom than you think when you're seated inside it. You can't judge headroom solely by vehicle height; if you could, every SUV on the market would have an interior like a gymnasium (Spoiler Alert: Some don't). They're making sedans lower because most buyers are going for SUVs, so they figure the only way to give sedans distinctive appeal is to play up their lower-slung sportier aspect. Right or wrong, that's their reasoning.

      It’s actually based on the Avalon, which is slightly longer and wider wheelbase. The first five ES chassis were based on the Camry, but the last four generations including this one are based on the Avalon. But beyond the chassis, what else is _exactly_ the same between the ES and Avalon? You think b/c they have the same chassis, therefore it’s the same car?? Lol.

    At C$ 60,000 + tax for the Ultra Lux package you do not get heated rear seats, exposed articulating hinges in the trunk, no android auto. This is one over priced car. At the 60,000-65,000 price point, there are better cars available no matter how reliable Lexus/Toyota is.

      It’s 60,000 for ultra luxury fully loaded with options the base price is $39,000 American and 51,000 Canadian while a Mercedes starts at 60,000 with not as much stuff that the es has with that base price of the Mercedes
