    White's MP is my favorite service boot. It doesn't have the most detailed finishing or stitching like a Viberg 2030 or something, but it's close enough and built on the superior Barry last with great arch support. Do you really need perfect stitching on work boots that are meant to be thrashed in the woods? It might be the best service boot out there in my opinion.

    • @trinityhandmade3864
      @trinityhandmade3864  3 года назад +7

      I fully agree with you Joshua. White’s really nails the pattern, it a perfect blend of form and function. I find the Barrie/mp last to be way more comfortable than 2030. Who needs a high spi out sole stitch on a military service style boot anyway?! I know it’s controversial but I think it looks better than a Viberg service boot, there I said it.

    I actually size down a half size in all my Whites and Nicks boots. I may have been able to have gone a whole size in the MP but my 11.5D MPs measure out the same length as my Red Wing Iron Rangers and Alden boots in 11.5D.

      @@trinityhandmade3864 Yeah - my first of many MPs were an 11.5 and they do seem plenty roomy in the toe box but like I said, they measured pretty much the same length as my Iron Rangers and Alden. I might have been able to go down a whole size in the MP but my left foot is a little longer than my right......I just wish makers would actually size their boots correctly and not have to do the trial and error of getting the right size. Like in the Wesco boots, they told me to go down a 1/2 size but they were too short. Had to get my normal 12 size.....Same with Truman boots.

      @@trinityhandmade3864 yes I've already received the swashbucklers and they are amazing! And my brannock is right between 10-10.5D but my right foot is wider with a higher instep than my left. So usually I would wear a 9.5D in most boots, but have realized that moving up to 10D is alot more comfortable for me. My nicks are 10D and fit great, and for the whites MPs I ordered I talked to Kyle and I think we decided on 9.5EE so when I get them in we will see how they fit! Like I said now I just have like 12 pairs of boots that are too small, so time to unload 😂

    • @trinityhandmade3864
      @trinityhandmade3864  3 года назад +1

      No it doesn’t, some people think that when an unstructured toe collapses it molds to your foot better and it’s more comfortable. Some think the leather touching your toes is uncomfortable so they opt for the Celastic toe box to keep the leather from collapsing. It’s also a very different look aesthetically

    I really like these boots and am trying to understand how the Cinnamon Waxed Flesh patinas over time. It seems like over time, with normal wear and tear, they will lose the cinnamon color and the very light brown, natural rough out, will show through. Is that accurate?
    Is there any way to keep the cinnamon color, or will the boots patina to the very light brown rough out?

    • @trinityhandmade3864
      @trinityhandmade3864  2 года назад +1

      Hey GK! Actually if you did natural waxed flesh they will turn into a light colored rough out yes, cinnamon actually has a yellow hue to the rough out that I’m not really a huge fan of. I keep it covered up on the toe to retain the cinnamon color. It’s quite easy, there’s a few different products you can use but basically any thick liquid conditioner with wax in it will do. Venetian shoe cream works well, just apply a thick layer and let it air dry, it will re cover the rough out and you’ll retain the color. Hope that helps. Would you say the MP last offers more arch support than your typical dress shoe? Like say, an Allen Edmonds?

    • @trinityhandmade3864

      Yes much more than that! But nowhere near what the 55 last arch ease has to offer. Mp is the equivalent of putting an arch insole in your Allen Edmonds

    I've got the MP-M1. Your sizing advice is pretty spot-on. I'm a brannock 10.5D and based on my tracings, Kyle suggested 9.5D. I opted for 9.5E to have a little more room in the toes, however, White's accidentally made them 9.5D, though I didn't realize this until a little later. Thankfully, they fit pretty well. They're very snug but not uncomfortable to walk a couple miles in. They've been breaking in well after 15 or so wears. I think 9.5E would definitely have been comfier off-the-bat, but I have a strong feeling the 9.5Ds will eventually fully break in to be a Goldilocks fit. Additionally, it's very convenient to have a wide range of sock thicknesses to compensate for these things.
    White's widths are in 1/8" increments, for anyone wondering.
