The reason they look chunkier than expected is they are MP Sherman’s with lug soles with TC. The MPM1 with Dainite soles are slimmer and more dressy. My black Chromexcel even work with a suit. I have the same setup as my black ones on order natural except with a toecap and dainite soles. The Sherman’s have the extra back stay piece if leather. The biggest difference are the soles you chose. However they are beautiful.
oh SNAPPPPPPPPPPPPP these are nice!!! excellent choice on natural CXL, it takes on a patina like nothing else. you're correct about that rim edge around the welt keeping water out, that's called the "storm welt" and i personally love the look of it!! great video my man and GOOD LUCK in the THUNDERDOME!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with Thunderdome! The hard part is not wearing your new boots (the most expensive ones you’ve ever owned) for two months. My brain can hardly handle the few days it takes for new boots to arrive, much less not wearing them for two months after they get here. I’m curious to see how you natural CXLs patinate. Keep us posted.
Exactly! Every day I look down at the box under my desk and tell myself that fall will be here soon. It does help that I have some other boots I’m currently breaking in! (Trumans and Parkhursts)
Congrats!!!, the reason why the edge is wider on that part, is because the welt is so wide, so they should compensate the aesthetic of the boot around the edges. 🙂, by the way super cool review👌
My wife bought me a pair on our 17 year anniversary just like this. Beautiful boot I guess it took her 17 years to notice my ass isn't going anywhere so I might as well be comfortable.
Nice! I thought of purchasing a pair myself during their sale but thought I’d wait until next year instead. I might go for Vibergs instead though. Hope you enjoy them and win that competition. Cheers!
Nice boot , I don't own a boot in any chrome xl leather because I always thought they don't patina but yours certainly looks like it will , I ordered a nicks falcon boot in black veg tan leather a month ago and can't wait for it to come in 😃
You know, thats what I thought too… but my Mark Albert Uptowns in Havana bro cxl are developing a decent patina tho its subtle, sub surface. I don’t wear the French Roast cxl Vanguards from Thursday enough tbh. Can’t wait to see how the nat cxl mp-shermans handle 7-8 months of consistent wear.
@@NathanKnepper yea man I wouldn't order any chrome tanned leather boots because of how they age and might eventually get a little floppy or never patina except this natural cxl and maybe one or 2 more lighter non cxls but I have suede boots over chrome I just ever since I got a veg tan wallet and other leather goods am hooked into how nice leather can really be
My brannock size is pretty much a perfect 10D and I ordered 9.5 MP-Shermans. Absolutely love them. I literally wear them everywhere (especially as they’re entered in the stitchdown patina contest) and I think they’re probably my favorite boots to date.
Thanks! I received mine in around a week and a half but there was no lead time on them when I had ordered. I just recently purchased a pair of farmer/ranchers for work and they also have a similar lead time. Its definitely worth the wait but still is somewhat annoying.
Those are Oak Street Trench boots… I think. I stole them off ebay for an insane deal. They might be an older style if they are the Trench boot style. I’ll make a video on them one of these days :)
Haha, wide angle lense makes things look weird. You’ve heard that their Trench boots squish toes? Maybe I dont have trench boots then… They’re one of the roomiest boots I own, second to my rangers… and imo Parkhursts Allens fit perfectly in every way… at least to my feet
@@NathanKnepper Yea I think I saw it on stridewise review, something about the toes mashing up in the front lol maybe it's just a wide feet people problem? Lol
Can’t complain! My cattail grizzly uplands from Truman definitely are more rugged but they’re dedicated work boots. I haven’t worn the Whites to work too much but the leather is more than enough for what the boots are made for: being the #1 boot you go to for general wear. When I do my full review Ill make sure I talk about that because these boots are really like the “ideal boot”. Basically they’re not stylized strongly in any particular way, they’re not made with any crazy colors, they’re just a reliable boot you can wear with anything, anywhere.
@@NathanKnepper thanks man. Was also eying the horserump on Baker’s site thinking it might be a little more durable. I like the Truman’s too but I heard the arch support on Whites and Nicks are game changers so definitely leaning towards those brands
They definitely are super comfortable with the arch support. It different than normal shoe/sneaker arch support. Kind of hard to explain. I do love how well my Whites fit tho
Both parts are vibram Your sole is a combination of a handwelt with the upper folded over - so it’s a stitch down + handwelt Unless specifically asked for that model is structured (Celastic toe)
Haven’t uploaded in a year and half BUT! I’m planning on starting again soon. These are in the list. Solid boots overall and I plan on buying a pair of farmer/ranchers for work from Whites in the future.
@@NathanKnepper - can you post a few pictures? How have they held up? I've had Allen Edmond (higgins mill) in black chromexcel and they scratched *extremely* easy.... my White's Bounty Hunters in Black Horsehide are tanks. I'm concerned with trying any Chromexcel again....
well cxl is naturally going to acquire a lot of marks since its a softer and more oily leather. I like natty cxl specifically for this reason and absolutely love the patina. Add me on instagram @nathan_knepper and I can send you some current photos 👍
Thank you, finally someone that actually puts them on.

@@NathanKnepper thanks to you!! Keep doing it!
Nice boots! I think both lace sets go well on them. Off to Whites to browse!
Thanks! You should see them now. One of my most favorite boots to date. I’ll have to make a video update for them sometime…

Great dome boot!

Ahhh yes, Vibergs. Thinking I might get a pair sometime next year…
I just got a pair of Vibergs and they fit a bit snug in comparison without MP can’t go wrong with ether one.
Hi there. Are you planning to to an updated review of these MP Boots?
Yes, when I start uploading again. Unfortunately I’m not sure when that will be.
Try an Ian knot for tying your laces. It's a game changer
I’ll definitely look that up, thanks!

The prizes on this contest alone would make a damn sneakerhead do their research and enter.
Thats for sure
Thumbnail on point 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks lol, I had five minutes to shoot it before the rain happened
What is your brannock size if you don’t mind me asking? What size did you end up taking in the whites?
My brannock size is pretty much a perfect 10D and I ordered 9.5 MP-Shermans. Absolutely love them. I literally wear them everywhere (especially as they’re entered in the stitchdown patina contest) and I think they’re probably my favorite boots to date.
Love ur review. I just order a pair after watching. But I have 24-28 weeks of lead time. I wonder how long did u get it after u ordered it?

Any updates on the patina ?
@averagejoe4101 If I ever start uploading again Ill make sure to do a video on these. The patina is very nice now 👌
I want ask a question. How tall the heels? Look like 1 1/8 Inch.
They’re currently all boxed up but I would say that’s pretty accurate. Maybe more like 1 inch
@@NathanKnepper Thank you 😎😁
What are those black beauty's on the side!? Looks like the flat toe from red wing, Klondike?

hmmm possibly if your feet are a little longer than normal. I could see that
How are you liking the natural cxl? Heard cxl may not be the best choice for hard wearing boots as it’s not the most durable but I like the look.

Can I have a shout out
It is a structured toe. It is not a Dainite sole.
Both parts are vibram
Your sole is a combination of a handwelt with the upper folded over - so it’s a stitch down + handwelt
Unless specifically asked for that model is structured (Celastic toe)

not quite sure I understand…?
