I just want to testify that this method is BOMB! I am transitioning from heat damage right now and I desperately needed a method for trimming my ends consistently so my curls can thrive. I did this for the first time last night and as she said it did take quite a while, but as I was cutting off the heat damage my curls were thanking me. I'll be using this method until all the heat damage is gone! Thank you sooooo much

Don't know what id do without you Whitney, I went to the shop to get my hair cornrowed for the first time since natural (4 yrs) and she pointed out that I had to dust my ends because it was snapping all over the place. I didn't know what she was talking about because this is the first year dusting for me is necessary because this was the first year I experienced snapping do to my length progress. So I said when I take down the cornrows she installed I would dust my ends, so I came home looked up your channel and there it was "a tutorial for dusting". Now when I take down these cornrows I will saturate my hair with conditioner, detangle and dust my ends. Your the best, thanks. I believe I wouldn't be approaching navel length without your tutorials.

Great tutorial: I tried it last night on my hair, 2 years post big chop (I actually shaved it skin bald!!! And now it's above bra-length). I actually coated my dry hair into 12 sections, with Cantu's Shea butter Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment! I had washed it the day before and had sealed my hair afterwards with Nutiva's Coconut oil and some Haitian Castor oil. I love your vids! Keep them coming :) God bless!

I just got done prepping my hair & putting my plastic caps & satin bonnet on before bed. I'm a little nervous to trim it in the morning, but I know if I follow ur instructions, I'll be fine. I'm excited & anxious at the same time!! You've been such a lifesaver!! ♥♥

I actually haven't cut my hair in about two years and before that I'd always trim/cut around every 6 months. I'll give you my opinion. I have seen a ton of growth since not cutting BUT also my hair does have some breakage. A way that I have been working through that is by utilizing repair treatments and deep conditioning more regularly. I guess that's my really great way to have a happy medium without being scared of losing my length. If that doesn't work for you and you see damaged hair still then it would probably be best to go back and try a small trim.

Thank you so much for your helpful tutorials. I have been natural for years now, but never took the time to learn how to take care of my hair. After watching several of your tutorials, I take time with my hair and I actually feel confident that I know what I am doing. I trimmed my ends, made some whipped shea butter, creamy shea butter and flax seed gel, all thanks to you. And, I have successful completed the bantu knot out on my hair. Amazing! Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this video. One of my big reasons for going natural is to avoid the salon. My life is busy and I live in an area where there aren't many salons that work with natural hair, so making an appointment for a trim is tricky. I'm excited to try this out. Looks pretty moisturizing, too.

This is just the type of video I needed to look for when attempting to learn how to trim natural hair! I have been growing mine for roughly 8 yrs and the main thing about me and hair care is that I'm lazy and I don't like going to a salon to pay $60 to get a simple thing done. So to redeem myself, I'm going to try to do some major stuff on my own, which should be fun cause my mom can't wait to teach me the ropes on how to trim hair! Hard work at first but I can't wait. Great vid!

Which I'm guessing is why it's stayed the same length this whole time, even though I have cut it....but not this way! And the twists you ended up with were sooo pretty! Let's see if I can't recreate that....lol

Question! When you do your final rinse to remove the conditioner from your twists, are you rinsing the twists themselves or are you untwisting, rinsing, then re-twisting each twist? Also, how do you stretch them so neatly without any creases or bends in the twists? They are beautiful!
