Kim I applaud you for how much you do as far as being a RUclipsr and having kids. Just wanted to say you are amazing cause you make it look easy and I know it's not. Keep up the good work 👌👍.
Thank you for doing a trimming video. My hair doesn't grow that fast, and it is probably due to the fact that I don't keep my edges trimmed as much. Most of the time when I do go to the professional, they tell me that I have to get it flat ironed before getting trimmed. Obviously there are other methods. Thanks
This was well done but i Just cldnt help myself from realizing how you didn’t cut then in angles and not just pulling tge hair downwards because depending on the hai position on the head, there are ends that wasn’t even trimmed. But still a good job
I've tried many of her hair methods and I have not been disappointed!! I stretch my hair with elastic band and it works perfectly. Thanks for the new tip on trimming natural hair 💕
This video is just in time! I desperately need a heat-free trim. By the way, love that you still rockin with the Aveda brush. I bought mine like 3 or 4 years ago because of you!
Sometimes I would stretch my hair using the African Threading method. Sometimes I don't have a thread so I would use rubber bands(that has been soaked in oil so it does not pull my hair).
I love this Method I refuse to use heat ever and wish I tried this before getting locs. O' well I've been a lazy 4C natural anyways (probably wouldn't have done it anyway).
I had to do this recently because my twist outs were coming out terribly! I never wanted to wear my hair out. After trimming, it looks so much better! We naturals cannot be afraid of scissors ✂️
I will definitely have to try this as well as your “no heat 2020” challenge! It’s going to be hard lol but I’ll keep track of my growth along with you!
Lol. 😅 Same. When taking out twists, the first half is done slow & gently, while there will definitely be some hair ripped out or broken off in the second half. I need to start altering which half I start first so I don't begin having a beauty and the beast head of hair.
You made this video very easy and simple, I dont have to stand in the bathroom a two hours plus taking care of my daughter. This is more than half the time. Wow amazing Job!!!!!!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It is honestly so glorious seeing how far your hair has come. I have been following since the OG TWA days and now your hair is so full and long and strong. Beautiful what patience, good diet and consistent care can do.
So I've come across this video because I've been wanting to trim my hair for the longest time and was considering going to a professional but I can't find anyone good in the area and looking on yelp overwhelmed me. Ngl I haven't washed my hair in weeks and I've gotten lazy/unmotivated to do my hair and I extremely dislike the condition it's in. It's in two-strand twists currently but I can see a lot of frizz and split ends. Definitely gonna try this method this weekend cuz ya girl needs some self-care. Thanks for the video
Great video! It looks very simple to do after watching your video. I was looking for something like this especially since we are all quarantine and no one can do it for me lol. Thank you so much 😊 and I hope you and your family are staying safe during this time.
Been watching your vids for yrs and its soo awesome to see your hair super long and healthy. What a journey! I cut my hair off and did other things though i know that if i kept with the routine it'll be as long as yours now. I only keep up with a couple hair vixens and Ive learned (through yaw) that color is not that important if your hair just isnt healthy. Thank you for being consistent!
What about if your hair is uneven? I've always had issue with my crown, it's shorter with more breakage. And a few places on the side that is a little shorter
Love this, just did a heatless hair trim video On my channel on my short 4c hair. Your hair is so beautiful, hope to get mine to this point too one day
I am a fan of yours for a long time 😀😉😊 can you do a review on (as I am restore&repair jamaica black castor oil water/smoothie please petty please💌🙏👏👍👌
Omgish I just did this video on my channel but I added the African threading before trimming. I wonder if I could have just done this. I always band like this. Thanks. I may try it this way next time. 👍🏽
😀Woohoo! I am very appreciative of your very thorough tutorial. Great stretch method & hair trimming. I'm glad you told us that it was 24hrs later. My hair takes about this lond to completely dry. Especially in the middle.
This video is right on time , I have braids in as my protective style right now and I’m not using heat (including blow dryer) so I can use this technique to clip my ends as well as for hairstyles I want to do on “blown out” hair . Trying not to use heat for a year too , so far so good 🤗
This video is right on time. My hair needs to be trimmed badly. My only problem is I don't have enough hair ties to do this stretching method😣 *doinghairisnotmyministryatall*
This was really helpful and timely! I can’t go see my stylist with COVID-19 and i only let her use to heat on me so this will be the only way I can keep my hair strong until she’s allowed to open up again.
This video is everything I didn’t know I needed in my life!!! I have been avoided heat and trying to grow my hair and this just got added to my arsenal. 🙏🏾
Hello. I want to say first thank you for sharing your beauty tips and routines it is really made a difference in my skin and my hair. I do have a question the middle of my head is always very dry, what can I do to help moisturize this area more?
Kim: "...and these parts don't have to be perfect at all."
*parts hair perfectly*
Grace Kamau 🤣
EVERYTIME !
😂
Right 🤣🤣🤣
Grace Kamau and her nails are still good
We do this in Zambia ( Africa) but we use cotton thread. It's actually a hair style as well🤷♀️💁♀️😂
And in Congo too sis. 😂
I was about to say the same
chanda bwalya Haiti too ☺️
This is also done in Nigeria. 🙂🌍
In Nigeria too! We have different kinds of threads for it
While we are walking through this storm of life, it's a good time to trust God!
Amen 🙏🏾!
Yes ❤️
Amen
Amen.
Amen♥️
Thanks so much for wearing a light colored shirt so we can easily see the difference!!
I'm learning how to speak and write english,so although I don't understand very well, I really love this channel.
What's your native language? You wrote that perfectly.
But you writing English Well😂
@@brooklynsmith369 what if she used a translator? 🤣
How is your study of English going now? ^^ I hope things are good!
Lol non bilingual people don’t understand that it’s possible to write in a language without understanding it properly..
You're definitely the "Part Slayer"!!!
Whooped that scalp into submission ❗❗
It helps that her density is low
I read that this stretching method is an ode to the way women would stretch their hair in Africa. I love this method!
Oh wow! That's so cool!!!
Yes it is, it’s called banding 💛. I’ve done it before. Lot of tension on the scalp if you make it tight but it does work to stretch.
Yes this is tradition. We usually do this with thread or yarn. It works great for no heat drying.
Yes banding or they use thread which is the African threading method.
Yup! This method originated from Africa and thread is normally used :)
Thanks a bunch for being detailed.
You have beautiful healthy head of hair.
This video came just in the nick of time as I'm due for a trim and also avoiding heat. Your hair looks so healthy! Thanks for the video!😁
So am I!
Same here 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Exactly! I have been searching four about a week for her 😊 thank you!
Natural hair is a full time job. I'm breathing through the wound!😭😭😭😭😭😭

Danielle Smith she is doing such a good job. I know the struggle of being a RUclips
@@charmw8313 yes so do I! Yes she is doing an amazing job!
she has a million subscribers and super SUPER low-key about it. shoutout to her
Every RUclipsr and their mama is blowing out and trimming their hair right now 😂
I have no shears😬
PreppyFay12 literally I think it’s just that time of the year! I’ll be trimming my hair this weekend too. I do it every 3-4 months
I just trimmed my hair on Sunday. And just now seeing Kim's video today. 😂
Starting off summer right! Gonna come out of summer with inches period lol!
Regularly trimming my hair helped it to grow longer without a whole lot of shedding and splitting.
Can we get a hair parting tutorial? (I'm struggling😭)
I aspire to have this type of healthy hair
Thank you for doing a trimming video. My hair doesn't grow that fast, and it is probably due to the fact that I don't keep my edges trimmed as much. Most of the time when I do go to the professional, they tell me that I have to get it flat ironed before getting trimmed. Obviously there are other methods. Thanks
Wished I seen this before I trimmed my hair three days ago. Have to try this next time looks like such a great technique.
This was well done but i Just cldnt help myself from realizing how you didn’t cut then in angles and not just pulling tge hair downwards because depending on the hai position on the head, there are ends that wasn’t even trimmed. But still a good job
Thank God I saw this early. I haven't trimmed my hair in forever and I'm trying as much as possible to avoid heat
I've tried many of her hair methods and I have not been disappointed!! I stretch my hair with elastic band and it works perfectly. Thanks for the new tip on trimming natural hair 💕

Sometimes I would stretch my hair using the African Threading method. Sometimes I don't have a thread so I would use rubber bands(that has been soaked in oil so it does not pull my hair).
Where does one get the Thread? I feel like that would help me and give me better result when I band
@@agirlyhasnoname ive seen people do it with the threads for sewing weaves. just cotton thread :)

O yeahhh I forgot she was doing no heat this year
I need to start my journey as well
Omg! Love it! Im definitely doing this for my daughter shes due for a trim and hair stylist cut way too much off.
I feel like I’d end up cutting every rubber band out lol I don’t have any patience
Isabell E you can use threading wool dear, the black one.It works the same.
Lol. 😅 Same. When taking out twists, the first half is done slow & gently, while there will definitely be some hair ripped out or broken off in the second half. I need to start altering which half I start first so I don't begin having a beauty and the beast head of hair.
Crazy how this pops up when I thought of trimming my own

Queen of parts. I mean she gets straight parts even with freshly washed coily hair.... Now that's skills.......
awoere amachree honestly
This hair looks so healthy and your pretty
The hair looks and feels so much better when the straggly ends are gone🤗🤗
Hi I wanted to know if you use your other method of stretching your hair by braiding it into 8 sections, will that still work for trimming it ?
I love your videos! How often do you trim your ends?
Her last trim was in January.
This is a cool method! Gonna try this tomorrow ❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨

Interesting technique..I've only seen it done with yarn..will have to try it
Very beautiful thank you
Hi,
This vlog will be handy for me as I'm not one for straightening my natural hair. Looking forward to your future vlogs :)
You can use thread instead of using band

Now That's a good idea
Do you prefere the band method or the other where you braid your hair?
Moony Iliyassou yes. Good question
Definitely trying this
Banding is a bit similar to threading right?
I’m going to try to trim my hair this week, wish me luck lol

This bouta be me in this quarantine 🥴 I need a trim bad.
Off topic but that top is so cute where’d you get it?
This is a good method. I just twist like I'm doing a twist out and cut ends. Being doing that 2 years being natural. Great video!

Idk why I'm watching this video, my hair is loc'd 😂😂 but when I was a loose natural, your stretch technique was a game changer for me.
My head would hurt sleeping with them but I will band early morning so it will be dry by evening...love it!!! 😍
Just wanted to say you are perfect and thanks for this video.
This is like African threading.
Njerisb09 I was gonna say the same thing. My mum used to do this all the time and the way my brothers would bully me for this😂😂😂
