I've been natural for two and a half years now, and it's only just recently since my cousin recommended your channel, that I've really learned to work with my hair and style it and not fear it. Thank you for making natural hair care so accessible and possible. I was literally lost before your channel and I've looked at what seems like a hundred different natural hair channels and websites. So exhausting and frustrating at times. So thank you for your videos!!
You, my friend, are a God send. So there I was, tired of looking ragedy after I work out with my straight hair. Then I see you with all these options that don't involve heat and I'm like 🙌😄. Thanks for being thorough and awesome cause I'm trying to figure this whole hair thing out. Woo!
clicked. I (both me and my natural friend) had assumed that i/we could not do it because the texture of my/our hair was slightly different and it just made me look like a frizz ball. But it was because i was flat twisting. People need to know that they can do this, it may just be a matter of stop thinking like a flat twist and separate the sections fully. Take the credit Whitney you invented a new way of twisting. Thanks Queen!
Everytime I watch your vids, I literally take notes!! I want you to know that you are an inspiration to me and many other women with natural hair. Bless you for doing these!!
I tried the twist out method you use (adding hair to twist, spritz with aloe vera juice, sealed with oils and then used let's jam custard) and I was so pleased with the results. I left mine in the bantu knots. Woo hoo, so pretty! THANKS! BTW, I love your videos!
@@LudnieGilberteLeger look into the l.o.c method. It's where you put a thin layer of oil and then cream over wet hair from washing or from spraying with a liquidy leave-in conditioner. It helps keep the moisture locked in longer.
This has become my new twist out method and I really like it. Lord knows why I used to spend ages on individual twists for a twist out when I can do this in half the time. I get a lot more body from this method and a more stretched out look. I've been natural my whole life but there's always room for new ideas and you've provided a lot that reduce the time I spend doing my hair. Cheers!
I have just started watching these videos and I love them! I've been transitioning for a year and a half and once I got comfortable with the length, I did my BC. Fully natural for 3 months now and loving it. And whoever that Eva Wellman is, do the world a favor; GROW UP!!!! And i agree with Ms TrickyTrinket you're just jealous.
I've been relaxed majority of my life...I about 10 months ago i began stretching my relaxer with braid-outs and flexi rid braids out and then transitioned to yarn braids. I maintained the yarn braid style for an average of 4-5 mos and receive a mild relaxer at the end of June. Needless to say, though I am mostly relaxed. ...THIS A WONDERFUL AND DESCRIPTIVE TUTORIAL!
My hair is the length of yours and today I finally got tired of the twist out look due to all the tangles, so I flat-ironed it. But after watching this video, I'm going to try twisting my hair the way you demonstrated. This is the first video of yours I've ever seen and I love that you decided to narrate rather than talk during the video. It definitely made watching it more enjoyable. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos. Thanks!
1. Every week to 2 weeks rotate protective styles and wearing it out 2. Try to stretch out your wash days as much as possible 3. Every night spritz your hair with a little bit of water and sleep with a shower cap to lock in moisture 4. Get a trim as soon as you see thin ends/ you see single strand knots or split ends everywhere 5. deep condition overnight Literally this is everything i did... along with low manipulation which is hard for me because i love to touch and do my hair lol hope this helps because it sure helped me
Oh wow I tried this method last night and I am so pleased with the results...my hair is transitioning but even my relaxed part of my hair looked great....I used a combo of water, cantu shea butter curl activator and cantu twist and lock gel and the combination gave me a great wave pattern in my hair and hold. To top it off my hair was nice and stretched. Thank you so much for sharing this technique.
You were right!! This was my best twist out ever. It was the only twist-out I ever wore out. Thank you! You were the first naturalist I ever watched and I've been natural my entire life
Your hair is GORGEOUS. Thick, dark, and healthy. So beautiful. I'm part African-American and have curly, thick, and kind of coarse hair. I cut it short a few years ago and while I love my hair's length, in the future, I'm thinking of letting it grow out...I'm subscribing to your channel and will try to pick up some tips for longer, natural hair. This was a great vid!
Your hair is so long and really gorgeous! You have helped me so much :) I dont have hair like yours but I work with children and we have one child who does. All of us are of Native American and Latino and we really had no idea how to care for her type of hair so I searched youtube and found you :) Me and my coworkers have used your videos almost like hair "classes" lol! You have really been a HUGE gift to us and to her!
Girl, this process seems to take forever, but I'm hooked, lol! Started a few inches above my bra strap.A month at it, (oiling my scalp +ends with castor oil, washing 2x a week with a conditioning shampoo+ protein/ detangling conditioner, spraying my damp hair with a leave in conditioner + hair lotion, and air drying) I have reach my first goal of bra strap length! Next goal: my waist. I will relax my edges,so it looks smooth when i pull it back. And wigs really help me,as far as protective styling!
I started growing my hair natural since last weekend. I have been inspired by my mother who followed your videos to grow my own hair. I'm tired of perms, single braids (only in the winter to protect my hair) and weaves. I'm going to try your twist method and your fluffy coccon curls and I'll send pics to you. Thanks, Naptural85!!
You are trying the Greatest! I have used your techniques and they have worked flawlessly. I just put up a video on how to style twists out that just did not come out right because I did not twist one side as well as the other. I love that you give us newbies such good advice on how to style and maintain our hair. Thanks again!
I love the style you end up with after you've wrapped the braids almost more than the twist out results. I will be trying this on my daughter hair. So pretty.
I love that little trick she did while twisting. I'm never doing a mini twist out again. The same definition in so much less time who would of ever thought. This is why I love her she has so many ingenious little tricks.
I must say thank you very much for your uploads! You are my inspiration for reverting my relaxed hair back to its natural state. I am about to embark on my transitioning journey. The music however, is quite distracting. Want to hear more of what you are saying. Thank you sooo very much again! Keep it up!
Hi! I'm fifteen and I started my hair journey in June of this year (without the big chop) and I've been watching and learning from your videos. I have already seen some growth and I love my hair and all of the different styles I can do. So, thank you!
How awesome r u. I've had long hair all my life. I've been natural since September 2009. I have about 3 more inches left of my relaxed hair that I've been afraid to cut. But watching your video has given me the courage to cut the rest so that I can do this style. Omg. I'm so excited. Thank you for the inspiration. Luv it!
I literally want to cry every time I watch her videos. Her hair is AMAZING & PRETTY & LONG. It makes me sad because my hair isn't there yet but it's only been a year since I've natural so patience is key.
Thank you for helping me 'get my best twist out'. Tried for the first, and I just want to leave it out . So happy to have been referred to your channel. Keep up the great work!!
I feel in love with your videos... I have been natural for about 7 months and I cannot wait to see how long my hair can go with your beauty tips... am also doing the sames thing for my daughters... thank you and I can wait to see more.
I am rocking the twists pinned up as a protective and instead of pinning up the first row closest to the hairline, I have left them in bantu knots so in the morning, to complete the style i just unravel the bantus to form 2 cute little ringlets either side of my face and a nice head scarf bow. Will take down for the intended style (best twist out) after a day or two!!! Many thanks for your inspiration!!
Naptural85 I just wanted to say thank you for this video! I have fine hair & two strand twist leaves my head looking scalpy. Regular braidouts (not your method) gave me better results. But this method in the video is AWESOME for my hair!! I want to try your braidout method but I'm not 100% comfy with the technique yet. I stretched my hair using Conair Heated Rollers. It was perfect & fast. Thanx again!
I love this video. I've watched it several times. I'm lucky enough to be able to do twist outs and braid outs on my relaxed hair. I even shared this video with my mom. She needed some help!! Thanks a bunch!
I feel so confident now doing this method! Thank you so much!! I don't have to have two strand twist with a lot of product if I don't want to. Let my hair be free and and my scalp breathe!
Thanks Naps! My hair is a bit short, but when i started stretching out my twist with bobby pins it made my twist outs look even better!!! Thanks so much!!! ♥
Hi Laurend1985. All black textured hair is absolutely beautiful. Get acquainted with your natural hair and respect the things it likes and the things it doesn't like. Its uniquely yours and is waiting to meet you...lol. I'm 6 months post BC and I will never go back. Naps videos are a excellent resource for information. Your hair is beautiful. Know it. Believe it. Now walk in it.
I'm so happy I found someone with long natural hair. I will be trying all you styles I have been natural for 5 yrs & sort of get bored with the same old hair do's but you have given me a Ron of ideas thx
I've tried other twist out techniques and they never worked for me. I did this technique two days ago and it was the first and only time a twist out actually came out good for me. Thank You! :)
So I finally tried this and got it right thank you such much Whit because of you I am continuing my natural hair process. You have inspired me so much.
Simply amazing...I've been growing my hair out for the past 2 1/2 months (post relaxed) and have been looking at cute twist and protective hairstyles. Great video, I'm definitely gonna try this tonight :)
Love this! Your hair has grown so much :-) now that I am 100% natural these styles can finally work for me. Do not have as much hair as you though. It's shoulder length, but seen you do this at that length as well. Your videos are so helpful and you are such a funny, warm and genuine person. You are such an inspiration. Just subscribed!
My hair loves your method of twists. I have very long, thick hair thick, but it always looked so short, now with your stretched out method my hair looks great without heat!! Thank you
Love your channel! I have learned so much from your episodes. I just got my curl formers in the mail and I'm washing my hair now to get ready for that set. I'll try your twist out method next. Thank you so much for all that you do - keep it coming! God bless.
Laurend1985, I think that's the type of hair I have, and I chose to follow great advice over great appearances. Secondly, After being consistent with the advice, I got to "know" my hair so well... that I named my hair. My hair is like my new baby, and I'm loving the attention she requires. I love every single strand...... because its uniquely mine and its beautiful. I so encourage you to stay with the idea, until it becomes "your" reality (it has to be yours first). Good luck.
Hi Naptural85, I love your tips; they have really helped me so much, especially your best twist-out ever. I would love to see your updated technique. Thank you for everything!
I love that spray bottle. Your so pretty! I just started doing braid out and twist outs. I think I'm going to try your twist out tonight. But when I wash my hair I have 70% shrinkage, so to get a little stretch I use medium heat blow dryer, so I can get some length. I love your videos it makes my hair journey easier.
Thank you for this video! I had my hair flat ironed by my stylist. It got rained on, and started looking manky after a few days, but fortunately I'd seen this video! I've been doing the best braid outs of my life for the past week... thanks again!
I had my hair in lace wigs for 5-6 years to grow out the perm and allow it to grow. 1 week ago i decided to go natural! begain to look for sites for advice on what to do, found this site and it WORKED!! I am so happy with the results at 45 I will NEVER EVER USE A PERM AGAIN!!
Oh my god ! You just gave me a few things I never thought about before as when you pin your twists around your head for the night ! This is a really good idea, thank you :)
OH MY GOD, that would explain why my last twist out was so incredibly gorgeous! I just ran across this vid on ur channel and viola i found the answer to my question as to why my hair looked amazing after getting to the "straightened/ uncurly state" thank you again for another aha moment :)
I love your twist out. I haven't done a twist out awhile. I have been doing braid outs. Well really just plaits and then I remove them. After watching your video I think I am going to give the twist out another try using your method. Thank you for the tips . Your hair is so beautiful and I love your videos.
Thanks for this video! I tried this method on my daughter who is only 3.5 and it turned out great! Now I've got to figure out how to make it last longer than a couple days. That will be quite the challenge on an active preschooler who likes to play and wrestle. LOL. Thanks again!!
I tried this method last night since my "curlformers do" had gotten old and it looks awesome today! Thanks for posting :-) Your technique worked perfectly.
Absolutely beautiful! Best twist out video I've seen. I cant wait to use this technique on my daughter's hair. It always comes out really pretty, but it shrinks, lol. Now thanks to you, I know how to stretch her hair with no heat. Good looking out. Im subbing!!
I've seen alot of natural hair care videos but yours are the best.i like the fact that you make your own organic haircare products.i do to.keep up the great work :-)

I love this tutorial. It took me some trial and error, but I finally got my best twist out ever! My profile pic is my results!
Everytime I watch your vids, I literally take notes!! I want you to know that you are an inspiration to me and many other women with natural hair. Bless you for doing these!!
More definition= more twist and smaller sections
Less definition= less twist bigger sections
Got it 😀👌🏾
I tried the twist out method you use (adding hair to twist, spritz with aloe vera juice, sealed with oils and then used let's jam custard) and I was so pleased with the results. I left mine in the bantu knots. Woo hoo, so pretty! THANKS! BTW, I love your videos!
I don't know how many times I've watched this video. Your hair's so beautiful. Best twist out ever indeed.

I've seen alot of natural hair care videos but yours are the best.i like the fact that you make your own organic haircare products.i do to.keep up the great work :-)
Lovely! Nice creative hairstyles, Yay naturals! I will stay tuned...
Loved it it looks amazing so many ppl would be jealous of your naturally long hair!
