  • With a cold front coming in, I thought this would be the best time to test the Vevor diesel heater. With temperatures dropping to close to -20, the heater was able to maintain at +11 on its lowest setting. Other then being a little noisy this heater passed the test with ease and I am more then confident to use it on upcoming winter camping adventures!

    Insulating the duct pipe will help bring up that temp in the truck

    I use a similar heater for my trailer and RTT winter camping in Michigan. Thanks for the wing clamps, that’s a neat upgrade. One suggestion, put some insulation on that duct. There is a insulated flex duct on Amazon you could just sleeve over it. You will be surprised how much additional heat you pick up.

      thats awesome! and ya those clips were pretty handy. Ill have to look into the insulation, I can imagine im loosing quite a bit off just that.

    Great setup man! dry heat is definitely the best. Nice to see how efficient the heater is with fuel. I believe they sell a updated fuel pump that's supposed to be quieter on those.

    Have you set up a means to lock the window and back access door when you sleep in the camper at night and how? Did you create vent space for air circulation?
    Many thanks.

    A small fan will help circulate the heat all around your truck 🚚

    Hi, Nice video! You’re got a nice setup, I’ve got a question for you, did you had any smell from your unit? I have just bought one and it smells like burned rubber. Thanks for your time

    • @castawaytv
      @castawaytv  Год назад

      Thank you!! I’ve had no smell from my unit. Is there anything pressed up against your heat element inside the unit or possible the exhaust? Also I’ve read things about people using tubing for the heat pipe that can cause the pipe to heat up and start to give of fumes.

    • @manuelmetallica
      @manuelmetallica Год назад

      @@castawaytv hi, no, theres nothing toching the heat element, i’m thinking maybe the gasket under the heater. I’ll change it and see! Thanks for for answer, have a great one

    I am glad the heater worked out. I measured my heater on low and it pulls less than one amp, It is the startup that pulls over 10 amps. Does your heater vent that you put together telescope? Or do you just slide it closer to the back of the truck to raise the vent height?

    • @castawaytv
      @castawaytv  Год назад

      Awesome, that’s good to know! And I would just move it forwards or backwards to adjust for height. Telescope would be really handy though!

      @tashaflemming5499 Год назад

      Not only do you have the best sleeps you get some of the best views when the sides of the truck cap is up in the warmer seasons. Its definitely an upgrade from the roof top tent and it look way cozier.

    • @castawaytv
      @castawaytv  Год назад +1

      Ya opening up the side is an added bonus! And it’s definitely cozier then the roof top tent, with all the storage!
